Lamborghini Huracan (2015)

After many teasers, Lamborghini has finally revealed the highly anticipated Gallardo succesor: the Huracan. It is powered by a 5,2 liter, V10 engine, capable of developing 610 HP and 560 Nm of torque. This engine allows the car to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3,2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h.

Name
With a total volume of 14,022 cars produced, the Lamborghini Gallardo has been the most successful Lamborghini ever and, in its ten-year lifecycle, lifted the Lamborghini marque to a whole new level. Its successor, the new Huracán, has been developed from scratch down to the very last detail and, like the Gallardo and most other Lamborghini models, derives its name from the world of bullfighting. The fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack. He fought in Alicante in August 1879, showing his unrelenting character and remaining defiant and invincible, thus entering into the legend of fighting bulls’ history.
Design
The new Huracán revolutionizes the design language of the Gallardo and is pure in its lines: precise technology and top level craftsmanship meet an audacious design with sharp edges, monolithic and sculptured volumes and precise surfaces. The starting point is the silhouette of the Huracán, born out of the desire of creating an automobile, whose profile is defined by only one line that merges the front with the cockpit and the rear of the car. The lateral windows come together to create a hexagonal form inserted like a glass jewel in the car’s profile.
Also by night is the Huracán unmistakably a Lamborghini. Not only are the main headlamps equipped with full LED illumination, but all other light functions also feature state-of-the-art LED technology as a standard feature for the first time in the segment.

Interior
The interior is dominated by an innovative cockpit. A 12.3 inch full-color TFT instrument panel delivers all car information to the driver, from rev counter to navigation maps and infotainment functions, and can be configured by the driver in different setups. Fine Nappa leather and Alcantara distinguish the interior, with several color combinations offered to ensure broad individualization options. The design of dashboard and central tunnel underline a new lightness in the interior. Superb craftsmanship guarantees the highest quality and sense of luxury throughout.

Chassis and powertrain
Systematic lightweight design and Automobili Lamborghini’s extensive expertise in carbon fiber come together in the Huracán’s new hybrid chassis – an integrated structure of carbon and aluminum elements. With a dry weight of 1,422 kg it enables not only the excellent power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kilograms per horse power, but also guarantees race-car precision with outstanding stiffness.
The new 5.2 liter V10 engine delivers a maximum power of 448 kW / 610 HP at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6.500 rpm. In the new “Iniezione Diretta Stratificata” (IDS), direct and indirect gasoline injections are smartly combined. This results in more power and torque with lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with the Gallardo V10 engine. The top speed of over 325 km/h and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds only partially describe the dynamic experience at the wheel of the Huracán. Also thanks to the Stop & Start technology, the combined EU consumption figure has been further reduced to 12.5 liters per 100 km (290 g/km CO2 emissions). The engine complies with EU6 emissions regulation.

Driving dynamics
The power of the V10 engine is brought to the road via the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) and fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. The different driving modes of the Huracán can be selected via a driving dynamics selector switch in the steering wheel – from traction-oriented on the road to extreme performance on the race track, with three setups of the dynamics system: STRADA, SPORT and CORSA. The different modes ensure extensive modification in road behavior of the Huracán. In particular they influence the set-ups of several systems, such as the gearbox and engine behavior, the sound, the four-wheel-drive system and electronic stability control. The Huracán’s carbon-ceramic brakes are a standard feature for consistently superb braking performance. The “Lamborghini Dynamic Steering” variable steering ratio system and magneto-rheologic suspension damper control are both available as options for further customization of the Huracán’s dynamic behavior. They are also calibrated via the three different dynamic set-ups.
The Huracán is produced at the Automobili Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese on an entirely newly-equipped production line. Delivery to the first customers is planned for spring 2014.

Are you a Lamborghini fan? If you are, this is for you. RevoZport has presented a tuning package for the Aventador model, that was called LaMotta, after Giacobbe LaMotta, an American boxer, winner of the World Middleweight Championship in 1949.

You probably are aware that the standard Aventador has a 6,5 liter V12 engine, that develops 700 HP and 690 Nm of torque. With the same engine, the Aventador LaMotta has 820 HP and more torque. Also the tuned Lamborghini is 80 kg lighter, thanks to the carbon fiber replacements.

The extra HP were obtained by remaping the engine’s ECU and replacing the exhaust system. The tuning package for Lamborghini’s Aventador also includes 20 inch wheels in the front and 21 inch wheels in the back.

Porsche 918 Spyder (2015)

Porsche has updated the specifications of it’s 918 Spyder supercar. If before we knew that the car can accelerate from standstill to 96 km/h in 2,7 seconds, now we have been informed that the actual time needed for this speed is only 2,5 seconds. The 0-200 km/h and 0-300 km/h intervals have also been updated. The new 918 can reach 200 km/h in 7,2 seconds and 300 km/h in 19,9 seconds.

Powered by a 4,6 liter V8 engine and an electric motor, the new Porsche 918 Spyder is the fastest car around the Nurburgring, being able to do it in 6 minutes and 57 second. Powered by the electric motor only, the supercar can sprint to 100 km/h in just 6,2 seconds.

Ford Mustang GT (2015)

One of the most anticipated cars of 2014 has been presented. I am talking about the new Ford Mustang. Beside the updated look, the car will be available with one of the three engines: a 2,3 liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost, a 3,7 liter V6 and a 5,0 liter Coyote V8. The last one is for the GT version of the car.

Jaguar F-Type (2014)

Jaguar has finally unveiled it’s new masterpiece: the coupe version of the F-Type. Available in three versions ( standard, S version and R version), the british car is very similar to the C-X16 concept.

Let’s start with the most powerful one: the F-Type R. It has a 5,0 liter V8 supercharged engine, capable of developing 550 HP and 680 Nm of torque. This power allows it to charge from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, before reaching the electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h.

Jaguar F-Type (2015)

The standard and S models of the new Jaguar F-Type are powered by a 3.0 liter V6 supercharged engine, developing 340 HP plus 450 Nm of torque, and 380 HP and 460 Nm of toruqe respectivelly. The standard F-Type needs 5.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h, while the S versions can do it in 4.9 seconds.

Mercedes has finally revealed it’s highly anticipated concept – the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, a 1:1 scale model of the supercar that will be available for download in the Gran Turismo 6 videogame.

Under the hood, the supercar is has a V8 engine, capable of developing 577 HP and 799 Nm of torque, power delivered to the rear wheels. Beside that, the new Vision Gran Turismo has gullwing doors, a total weight of only 1384 Kg and AMG high-performance ceramic composite brakes.

Mercedes S65 AMG (2014)

Beside the SLS AMG GT Final Edition, Mercedes has presented another unique supercar: the S 65 AMG. Powered by a biturbo V12 engine, that develops 630 HP and 1000 Nm of torque, the “monster” can sprint to 100 km/h in 4,3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.

Aston Martin is entering the US auto market with the new limited edition Vanquish Volante Neiman Marcus, a unique model inspired by the iconic 1969 DB6 Volante. There will be only 10 models of this car and all of them will have a Neiman Marcus Exclusive Seychelles Blue paint and an Atlantic Blue fabric for the convertible hood. Other updates over the standard model include 20 inch wheels with Liquid Silver finish, blue brake calipers, plus other detailing.

After announcing it in September, Holden has launched the new 2014 Barina RS. Now you will ask: where have I seen this car before? Well, basically the car is a rebranded Chevrolet Sonic RS, with the same specifications:

It has a 1.4 liter, 4 cylinder turbo engine, that is capable of producing 103 kW and 200 Nm of torque, front wheel drive and a six speed manual gearbox. If you want, you could choose an automated one, that has Active Select.

The extra RS letters mean that the car has been lowered with 10 mm and has been updated with new dampers and stiffer shock absorbers, for a sportier experience. The new Holden Barina RS has also received new 17 inch wheels, new front and rear fascias and fog lamps.

The price starts at 20 900 AUD and you will need an extra 2 290 AUD for the automatic transmission.

Maserati Ghibli (2014)

Maserati has recently released it’s new model: the 2014 Ghibli, also known as “the baby QuattroPorte” and now more photos surface the web. This is the first Maserati to be powered by a diesel engine. We are talking about a 3,0 liter V6 turbo engine, capable of developing 275 HP and 600 Nm of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, all four wheels launch the car to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. More information can be found in the specifications sheet below.

But ofcourse if you are not a diesel fan, you can choose one of the two gasoline versions. One is powered by a 3,0 liter, V6, twin turbo engine, developing 330 HP and 500 Nm of torque and the other is powered by ... oh wait, it’s the same engine but it is tweaked to develop 410 HP and 550 Nm of torque. Only 5 seconds are needed by this version of the Maserati Ghibli to reach 100 km/h, before going for the top speed of 285 km/h.

Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition (2014)

Porsche has unveiled the 50^th Anniversary Edition 911. Limited to 1963 units, the supercar is powered by 3.8 liter six flat engine, has a seven speed manual transmission and is capable of producing 400 HP and around 340 Nm. The U.S. version will be equipped with a power kit and a Sport Chrono Package. This package increases the maximum torque of the car to 430 HP. Lamborghini Egoista Concept (2013)

This is the supercar concept, built by Lamborghini to celebrate the company’s 50^th anniversary and it’s name is Egoista. At a first look you could say it is a spaceship and not a car, but we are used to the unique designs that the Italian carmaker has started to present lately.

Based on Lamborghini Gallardo, the supercar concept will be built in ... wait for it ... no, it will not be built again, it will be only one copy if this “spaceship”. Since Lamborghini did not unveil all the specifications, some of them are wild guesses, based on the Gallardo’s data.

Personally, I like it, for it’s unique design. What do you think ?

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster by Wheelsandmore (2013)

You all know the roadster version of the Italian supercar Lamborghini Aventador. It is powered by a 6,5 liter V12 engine, capable of developing 700 HP and 690 Nm of torque. It has a seven speed ISR semi-automatic transmission and four wheel drive. All these features allow the car to accelerate from standstill to 97 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 370 km/h.

If you think these numbers are not enough, you should get in touch with the German tuners from Wheelsandmore. They took the standard Lamborghini Aventador Roadster and by performing an ECU remap and other modifications, they succeeded in obtaining more power. To be more precise, 792 HP and 775 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz S300 BlueTEC hybrid (2014)

Mercedes has unveiled the new generation S-Class and after a quick look at the stats, it’s obvious that they have raised the standards very high. The new Mercedes-Benz S-class has a short wheelbase version (with a length of 5,116 meters and a wheelbase of 3,035 meters) and a long-wheelbase version (with a length of 5,246 meters and a wheelbase of 3,165 meters). Through the drivetrains, the most eco friendly motorization is the S300 BlueTEC hybrid, with an average fuel consumption of 3,6 l/100 km (at least on the paper) and 115 grams of carbon/km. The other drivetrains are a S350 BlueTEC, with a 3.0 l V6, diesel engine, a S500 with a 4,7 l, V8 petrol engine and a S400 Hybrid, with a 3,5 l V6 petrol engine.

This is the facelift version of the Mercedes-Benz E400 Cabrio. The German engineers replaced the old V8 engine with a 3,0 l, twin-turbo, V6 engine, capable of developing 333 HP and 480 Nm of torque. In other words, the new convertible can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 5,3 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The new Volkswagen Design Vision GTI has been unveiled at Worthersee and it;s looking very good. Based on the well known Volkswagen Golf GTI, the new concept has a better design, consisting of a new front fascia with LED lights, a new front splitter, side blades, a new rear bumper and 20 inch alloy wheels.

The new Design Vision GTI is powered by a 3,0 liter V6 twin turbo engine, capable of developing 503 HP and 560 Nm of torque. Volvo has released information about the production version of it’s S60 Polestar. Powered by a 3,0 l T6 engine, the new Volvo S60 Polestar can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4,9 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The masterpiece was made with the help of Polestar’s team, that modified the engine’s software, added a new intercooler, a new turbo system and stainless exhaust system with 3.5 inch tailpipes. The new Volvo S60 was also equipped with 19 inch wheels and ventilated Brembo brake disks.

Unfortunately, in the near future it will be available only for the Australian market.

Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid (2014)

Are you a Porsche fan? In this case, you have to know that the German automaker has released information regarding the new Panamera and Panamera E-Hybrid. The hybrid version has a 3,0 liter V6 engine that together with an electric motor can generate 410 HP, allowing the four-door car to reach a top speed of 269 km/h. If it would run only on the electric motor, it could reach a top speed of 133 km/h and could travel for 17 – 35 km. It has a 2.0 l, 4 cylinder, turbo engine, it can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4,6 seconds and it costs 56 078 Euro. What car is it?

I’m talking about the new Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG, the one that has been unveiled at New York Auto Show these days. So, as I have said, it has a 2,0 l turbo engine, that can develop 360 HP and 450 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,6 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. When the controlled efficiency mode is activated, the stop/start function turns on and the fuel consumption is a priority (6,9 l /100 km). Audi A3 Sedan (2014)

Ladies and gentleman, the new Audi A3 sedan has been revealed. There are four motorizations available: a 1.4 l TFSI, a 1.8 l TFSI, a 2.0 l TFSI and a 2,0 l TDI. The last one is presented in the data sheet below and can develop 150 HP and 320 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8,7 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 220 km/h.

The 1,4 l TFSI engine can develop 140 HP and 250 Nm of torque, the 1.8 l TFSI up tp 170 HP and 250 Nm of torque, while for the most powerful gasoline engine, the 2.0 l TFSI, the information has not been revealed yet.

Beside the A3, there is also a new Audi S3, with a 2.0 liter TSFI engine, capable of generating 300 HP and 380 Nm of torque. This power allows the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4,9 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The brand new Audi A3 will be available in stores this spring.

Lyonheart K (2013)

New information has been released about the supercar inspired by the Jaguar E-Type and designed by Bo Zolland and Robert Palm - the new Lyonheart K. Available both in coupe and convertible versions, the new Lyonheart K will be powered by a Cosworth supercharged 5.0 l, V8 engine, capable of developing 575 HP and 700 Nm. Thanks to this power, the supercar can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h. At Geneva Motor Show, Maserati has revealed the brand new GranTurismo MC Stradale, a four seat version of the supercar. After borrowing the 4,7 liter, V8 engine from a GranTurismo Sport, the new MC Stradale can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,5 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 303 km/h. As we know, Lamborghini cars get their name from famous bulls. This is also the case for the new Veneno, which got the name from a bull that killed Jose Sanchez Rdodriguez, during a bullfight in 1914.

The heart of the car is a 6,5 liter V12 engine, from the Aventador model, that through advanced tuning is able to produce 750 HP. There is also a more powerfull engine ( a 3,8 liter V8 twin turbo) that can produce 523 hp and 710 Nm. From zero to 100 km/h, the V8 Quattroporte accelerates in 4,7 second, reaching a top speed of 307 km/h. The power is transmitted through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. If the V6 has AWD, the V8 will be sold only with RWD.
