Tata Motors has taken off the covers from its new line-up of Indigo Manza Saloon, the Manza Club Class. Along with the introduction of the new series, Tata has also introduced  new variant’s nomenclature.

The base version is now called LS (Earlier known as Aqua), and it comes with chrome treatment on the interiors and new seat fabrics. The next variant above LS is now LX (Earlier known as Aura). In addition to the features introduced in the base version, the LX version comes with electrically operated AC controls and optional touch screen navigation system.

The earlier known Aura ABS variant is now named a VX variant, and it gets all the features list provided in the LX version along with addition of ABS. The former top of the line variant Elan is now renamed to EX. The EX variants get all bells and whistles of low end variants; furthermore, it offers automatic climate control and eight-spoke alloy wheels. Contrasting roof colors is also available as an option for the Manza EX version.

Tata has now introduced a new top-end variant, called EXL. This new power packed version gets loads of features, including, touch screen navigation system, tilt-steering, automatic climate control, ABS with EBD, eight-spoke alloy wheels, follow-me home headlamps and new premium leather seats.

The new Manza class is available with the option of 1.3-litre 90bhp diesel engine and 90bhp petrol engine.

The new Manza Club Class is priced at Rs. 5.7 lakh for the base petrol variant, and Rs. 6.49 lakh for the base diesel variant, while the top diesel is priced at Rs. 8.8 lakh.

Ford has introduced a new refreshed version of its hottest selling hatchback Figo. The new refreshed version gets many exteriors as well as interior changes, and the price of the new version starts from Rs. 3.85 lakh for the base model and goes up to Rs. 6.0 lakh for the top-end model.

Lots of changes have been made to the exterior of the car in order to make it more stylish and attractive; some of them includes new refreshed tail-lamps and headlamps, reworked front grille with silver lining; audio controls mounted steering wheel, all new alloy wheel design, new fog lamp housing and better seat fabrics.

However, no changes have been introduced to the power-train of the car; it is still powered by the same 1.2-litre Duratec and 1.4-litre Duratorq engine. According to Ford, they worked with engine calibration in order to provide better pickup in comparison to the older models. Along with the addition of new features, Ford has also added two new color option to the Figo range- Bright Yellow and Kinetic Blue.

Backed by official 2-year/1,00,000km warranty, the base petrol variant is priced at Rs. 3.85 lakh, and the base diesel variant is priced at Rs. 4.82 lakh.

Toyota has introduced a new limited edition of its muscular SUV Fortuner, the all-new Fortuner TRD Sportivo. This new limited edition model has been introduced just few days after Toyota has come up with Liva Sportivo.

The new limited-edition model comes with minor cosmetic changes, with no major changes introduced to the mechanical parts of the car. New changes introduced include TRD-badged skirts on the front and rear bumper, and roof-mounted rear spoiler.  According to Toyota, only 600 units of such edition will be manufactured, and it will be delivered to the customer on first come first-serve basis.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo MT 4×2 is priced at Rs. 21.75 lakh, while the 4×2 AT version gets price tag of Rs. 22.60 lakh.

Nissan Micra, the not so popular hatchback from the Nissan stable has now got a limited-edition model called Nissan Micra Primo. This new version has been introduced in order to push the sales for the car in the upcoming festive season.

The new limited edition gets many modern features and some cosmetic changes, including LED lights, 2-DIN Kenwood stereo system with USB port and Bluetooth connectivity, turn indicators on wing mirrors, rear parking sensors and Primo decals on the rear side of the car.

No changes have been introduced to the power house of the car, available in petrol and diesel variant; the Petrol variant comes with 1.2-litre 75bhp petrol engine, and the diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre 63bhp diesel engine.

The Primo edition is available across all four variants- XL, XV petrol and XV, XW diesel variants. The new edition is priced Rs. 20,000 higher than the standard variants of the Nissan Micra.

The much-anticipated Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 has been officially launched on the auspicious occasion of Navratri.  The new 500cc beast is priced at Rs. 1,65,708 (Ex-showroom, Mumbai), and the booking of the vehicle has already commenced with delivery is expected to kick off within few days. The Thunderbird 500 has been introduced at Auto Expo 2012, where it has grabbed the attention of lots of bike enthusiastic.

The new bike is powered by a 499cc single-cylinder, air-cooled four-store engine, which delivers a maximum output of about 27.2bhp and a peak torque of 4. 17kgm. The engine deployed here is the same one which is currently doing its work in Classic 500. It will be made available in three shades of black.

The new thunderbird gets many features, which are very first to be introduced to a Royal Enfield bike, including a modern projector headlamp, digital cum analog console panel, 20-litre fuel tank, hazard switch lamp in switch gear, LED tail lamps, engine polished in black color and rear disc brakes. There has been many other improvements and additions has been introduced to the bike making it a perfect cruiser for Indian condition.

Along with the launch of the new Thunderbird, the company has also taken off the covers from revised Thunderbird 350 priced at Rs. 1,30,086. The new 350cc bike is powered by the same engine, but now it will come with all newly introduced feature in the Thunderbird 500cc, making it an attractive package for a first-time cruiser.

Royal Enfield has also launched their own range of riding and safety gears for bikers. Various accessories includes riding jackets, riding trousers, helmets, eyewear and motorcycle boots and gloves.

Tata Safari Storme, the much-awaited SUV will be officially launched on October 17. The car has been introduced at the Auto Expo 2012, where it had received mixed response from the public. The new Safari is expected to carry lots of changes under the skin, and to be far more better in terms of performance than the current generation Safari.

When the Safari was yet to be introduced, many people are thinking that they will be getting a all new re-designed Safari, but the car turn out to be a facelift in the exterior department. Safari Storme comes with broad grille with lot of chrome treatment and projector head lamps, the front department looks to be heavily inspired from Range Rover.

The side-part looks little bit out of sync with rest of the Vehicle. Spare wheel has been removed from the rear panel, which now gets more of chrome treatment and dual-exhausts, which makes the SUV look much more sporty. The car now looks more of a like Urban SUV rather than being a aggressive off-roader

Along with mild change in the interior, Tata has made major improvements in the mechanical department of the car. It now comes with improved suspension and ladder-frame chassis, similar to the one which is currently being used in Tata Aria. The wheelbase is now 200mm shorter than the current generation, which helps the vehicle in torsional rigidity and weight reduction.

Under the hood, the Safari Storme is powered by the same 2.2-litre Dicor engine which produces maximum power output of 140bhp, but the engine is now expected to be much more responsive and fuel efficient. The five-speed gearbox has also been tweaked in order to deliver a better level of refinement.

The most annoying thing about the current gen Safari is the interior department; Tata has looked into tis matter seriously and made the interior in the new Safari Storme much more appearing.  The interior is simplistic with Beige touch, and the Sofa-like seat has been retained providing extreme comfort to the passengers.

At present, there is no news about the pricing of the new Safari Storme, but we are expecting it to be priced around Rs. 10 lakh making it far more attractive than the other vehicles available in the same segment. It is believed that Tata will be selling current gen Safari and Safari Storme side-by-side. When launched, the new SUV will be competing against Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV.

Tata motors has introduced the refreshed version of the Indica hatch, the new Indica eV2. The new refreshed version comes with updated styling and performance tweaks, along with updated interiors. The most noticeable thing is that, Tata has announced price cut across all variants of the new car.

In the exterior department, the car now gets new grille, which looks similar to the one which is being used in Indigo eCS. The new re-worked headlamps and restyled bumper also make the car look much more stylish than the earlier version.

The interiors are now been upgraded to shadow beige shade. The new Indica eV2 is available in three variants, base variant LE, mid-variant LS and top-end variant LX. The equipment list in the top-end variant includes USB enabled music system, power windows, keyless entry and fog lamps. Alloy wheels are also provided as standard in the top-end variant.

Under the hood, Tata has introduced minor changes. The car carries new re-worked gear ratios, and is lighter by 10KG than the earlier version, which will surely help the car to be more fuel efficient and responsive.

The new indica eV2 comes with two engine options, 1.4-litre diesel engine and MPFI petrol engine. The diesel engine produces maximum power output of 52.8bhp and a peak torque of 85nm, while the petrol engine churns out maximum power of 64.4bhp and a peak torque of 99.8nm

The new Indica eV2 also gets price reduction up to Rs. 30,000; the base variant is now priced at Rs. 4,01,164, while the top-end variant will cost Rs. 4,78,619 (price ex-showroom Delhi).

Bajaj Pulsar 375cc, which is being thought as a dream once, will come to life very soon. Even though the launch of the bike might not be too close, but its confirmed that Bajaj will bring up the first mass Sports Bike. Most probably the Pulsar 375cc will be based on Pulsar 200NS platform, and might come as a full faired bike.

According to Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director Bajaj Auto, the company’s R&D team is trying hard on the 375cc variant of the Bajaj motorcycle, and it will be out in flesh in 2013. Even though the launch is not too close, but we do expect Bajaj will not delay the launch of the bike much, allowing CBR250R and upcoming Ninja 300 to eat up the competition.

Before it was speculated that the bigger version of the Pulsar will be a twin-cylinder version, but Bajaj confirmed that it will be a single-cylinder version, which clearly points toward good fuel efficiency along with a lower price tag. It might be possible that Pulsar 375cc turns out to be the most affordable Sportsbike in India.

Few months agom, Bajaj has launched its triple-spark Pulsar 200NS based on the Duke 200 platform. The introduction of the 200NS clearly changed the picture of the Bajaj in Indian bike sector, and now they look much more matured.

While, it will be too soon to guess anything about the 2013 Pulsar 375cc, it’s sure you can expect the bike to be heavy on spec-sheet with nice performance figures. Bajaj results of acquiring share in KTM seems be quite fruitful to the India manufacturer.

Mahindra-SsangYong Rexton SUV will be officially launched in India on Oct 17; this news has been officially confirmed by the Mahindra. According to duos, Indians will be treated with the 3rd generation Rexton, which was earlier showcased at Busan MotorShow 2012. Internationally, the same SUV is being sold as Rexton W.

The Rexton will be first launched in Mumbai on October 17, followed by the launch in New Delhi and Bangalore, then it will be rolled out in phased in order parts throughout the country. The new Rexton SUV is based on the Mercedes M-Class first generation; the Rexton is a body-on-frame SUV.

The Rexton gets modern and stylish treatment, the projector headlamps along with LED lining and LED fog lamps adds to the style statement. The front-grilled has been redesigned and is much wider than the earlier variant, and it carries a big SsangYong logo at the center. Wheel Arches on the third-generation blends quite nice with the new design of the car, unlike the older generation where it looked bulged out. The front of the vehicle is no more less than a sub-30lac SUV.

Jump into the inside of the car and you will find leather seats and beige-interiors; the same will also be offered in India too. Equipment list includes Climate Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Decent Control (HDC), ABS, parking Sensors, cruise control, Auto lights and wipers, Side Airbags and electrically operated outside rear-view mirrors.

The Rexton is powered by a new 1998cc 2.7-liter CRDI diesel mill, which delivers maximum power output of 145bhp; the new in-line four-cylinder engine replaces the 2.7-liter diesel engine sourced from Mercedes. According to various sources, the new Rexton will come with 5-speed Automatic Gearbox, and there will be an option for Manual Gearbox too.

The new Mahindra  SsangYong Rexton is expected to be priced around Rs. 18 lakh. At this price range, the new SUV will be competing against Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CRV and Mitsubishi Pajero.

Honda is all set to launch the automatic variant of the Brio hatchback in around mid-October. According to the sources, the car has already been sent to showroom, and it will be available in showrooms from the same day after the launch. It seems Honda is too much serious with the upcoming festive season in India.

The Honda Brio Automatic will be most probably offered only in the top-end V variant, which is expected to be priced Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 80,000 higher than the Manual variant. At present, the top-end V variant is priced at Rs. 5.23 lakh, so here we are looking at the price tag of around Rs. 6 lakh.

The top-end variant of the Brio comes loaded with loads of features; you get alloy wheels, dual airbags, fog lamps and dual-tone beige interiors. However, it would have been much better, if Honda might go for Automatic variant in the mid-variant too, which will make the automatic variant in budget of a lot of customers.

Honda Brio is powered by 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine, which churns out maximum power of 86bhp and a peak torque of 109nm. The i-VTEC engine is well tuned, and delivers admirable fuel efficiency of 18kmpl. It would be interesting to see, how much fuel efficient will be the automatic variant of the Brio will be.

Not many Automatic options are available in hatchback in India. When launched, the Brio automatic will take on with Hyundai i10 AT and Maruti A-Star AT. It will be interesting to see whether Honda will be able to succeed with Automatic options, where other manufacturers failed.
