As a technology, analog is the process of taking an audio or video signal (the human voice) and translating it into electronic pulses. Digital on the other hand is breaking the signal into a binary format where the audio or video data is represented by a series of '1's and '0's. The nature of digital technology allows it to cram lots of those 1s and 0s together into the same space an analog signal uses. Like your button-rich phone at work or your 200-plus digital cable service, that means more features can be crammed into the digital signal. Digital offers better clarity, but analog gives you richer quality. Digital like the VCR or the CD is coming down in cost and coming out in everything from cell phones to satellite dishes.

Digital lines are found in large, corporate phone systems. Though digital lines carry lower voltages than analog lines, they still pose a threat to your analog equipment.

Analog lines also referred to as POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), support standard phones, fax machines, and modems. These are the lines typically found in your home or small office

Excel Classes in VBA - What Are Visual Basic for Applications Classes, And How Can You Use Them in Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel's VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programming language allows you to write macros in code modules. However, VBA also supports something called Object Orientated Programming (OOP) to some extent, using something called class modules. This article explains what these are, and how to use them.

Starting at the End - Where you want to get to
In Excel you can refer to workbooks and worksheets as built-in objects. For example:

Dim ThisSheet As Worksheet
Set ThisSheet = Worksheets("Sheet1")
However, excitingly, you can also create your own objects. For example, suppose that you often want to create new worksheets with your company name in the top cell. What you'd really like to write is this:

DIM wb as OwlWorkbook
SET wb = New OwlWorkbook
wb.Title = "Wise Owl"

The only thing stopping you doing this is that Excel has never heard of an OwlWorkbook object, and certainly doesn't know that it has a Title property. Yet!

Creating the Class
To create the class above, go into Visual Basic within Excel (eg by pressing ALT + F11) then choose to insert a class module (you can do this by right-clicking in Project Explorer and choosing Insert from the short-cut menu which appears).

Now go to the Properties window (press F4 if you can't see it) and change the name of the class you've just added from Class1 to (say) OwlWorkbook.

Now you need to say what happens when someone creates an instance of your class. At the top of the screen is a dropdown saying General. Click on this and choose Class1 instead. Now on the right-hand side choose Initialize from the dropdown menu which appears (Excel may do this for you automatically).

You can now type in what you want to happen when someone creates a new object based on your class. In our case we want to create a new workbook, so you could type in something like:

Workbooks.Add
Finally, we need to give our workbook a Title property. To do this, type in the following code:

Property Let Title(ThisTitle As String)

Range("A1").value = ThisTitle
Range("A1").Font.Bold = True

End Property
Finally, create a subroutine to test out your class (this should go in a module, as normal). For example:

Sub test()

Dim ThisBook As OwlWorkbook
Set ThisBook = New OwlWorkbook
ThisBook.Title = "Company name here"

End Sub
When you run this subroutine it will automatically run the Initialize event in your class, then go to the Let property to create a new workbook and write your company name in cell A1!

How to Make a Bootable Antivirus Disc

Purpose of this document.

This document will teach you how to make a bootable anti-malware ( bootable antivirus ) cd/dvd step-by-step.

Why Bootable Antivirus?

In a bootable environment we are running a stripped down version of windows in a ram disk (programs are loaded directly into ram), thus the hard drive on the PC is treated as attached storage (like a flash drive). In this state malware (malware consists of viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, rootkits, etc) is helpless and totally at your mercy. This is the best free way to remove any piece of malware with a 100% success rate.

Steps:

Please follow all the steps below:

1. Go to http://ubcd4win.com/downloads.htm

2. Select a mirror with a green status. (like "Mirror#3" for example)

3. When you click on the mirror it will take you to another site where the download will be available.

4. Click the download link for Ultimate Boot CD and save the download to wherever you download stuff.

5. Once the installer has been downloaded double click it.

6. Choose your language

7. Click next about 3 more times and select the file path where you would like to install ultimate boot cd 4 win. Please note that you should have a drive with at least 5-10 gb of free space to allow for future plugin growth. I will choose C:UBCD4Win. The install should take a few minutes.

8. Click Yes to the MD5 Hash Check. The install will continue once the hash check succeeds.

9. Click Yes to see if a patch file exists.

10. Click the checkbox to launch ubcd4winbuilder.exe.

11. Click the "i agree" button.

12. Click "NO" to searching for windows files.

13. Obtain a windows xp operating system disc w/SP2.

14. Explore the disc and copy the entire content (all the folders and files on the windows xp cd) to any location on your computer. You should allocate at least 700 MB of free space for the windows xp disc.

15. Open UBCD4win (if it's not already open). Click Source browse button (3 dots ...) and browse to your i386 folder. My path was C:WindowsXPcd for example.

16. Next go to the media output section and choose a spot for your ISO image to be created. This ISO can be burned with almost any burning software. Once the ISO is burned it will be bootable.

17. Next, click the plugins button. Don't be too overwhelmed here, actually you should be very happy! Look at all those plugins!

18. Now it's time to update our anti-malware software packages.

19. The first one I have on my list is a-squared free anti-spyware. Click that line and then click the config button. A command prompt will automatically open and start downloading the latest updates for that program...totally awesome, isn't it!

20. So, now you need to update all the anti-malware programs in our plugin list. Click each one and then hit the config button.

21. After you're done configing/updating your plugins click the close button.

22. Next, click Build.

23. Click yes to create a directory and then click i agree.

24. At this point your ISO is created and is ready to be burned.

2. Go to the start menu and choose Help and Support (shown below) Just the computer user that wants to invite does this.

The print head also uses a stabilizer bar to keep it in the proper place and control the placement of the ink. Some inkjet printers use vibration in place of heat to transfer the ink to the page. This technology is called piezoelectric and uses tiny crystals at the back of the ink reservoir on the nozzles in the print head. An electrical charge causes the crystal to vibrate, first inward to draw the ink out of the nozzle and then outward to force more ink back into the nozzle.

When the print button on a computer attached to an inkjet printer is clicked, the computer sends electronic data to the printer, causing the paper to move into place and the print head and nozzles to disperse the ink onto the page, according to the pattern contained in the digital data. Although the print head actually stops for every single dot of ink sprayed, it happens so quickly the action appears to be continuous. An inkjet printer can project as many as 1440x720 dots per inch on the page. The combination of dots and the different colored inks result in photo-quality images on the printed page.

Import Excel Data Into Mysql Using Phpmyadmin

So you have a bunch of data in Excel that you want to create a database from. But how do you import the Excel data in MySQL? With phpMyAdmin, the process is painless and easy. This tutorial will explain this process step by step. The various options for database setup and character sets are beyond the scope of this tutorial. Here are the steps to follow in order to import Excel data into MySQL using phpMyAdmin:

Open your Excel file. Select the worksheet that you first want to export. If you have multiple worksheets in one Excel workbook, or file, you will need to export multiple files. You cannot import an Excel document with multiple worksheets in one swift swoop (unfortunately, at least to my knowledge).
Once your worksheet is selected, go to the ‘File' menu and select ‘Save As'. In the formatting drop-down menu, select the ‘Comma Separated Values (.csv)' option. You will see a prompt that tells you the Save As .csv option cannot save workbooks that contain multiple sheets (as explained in step 1). Simply click ‘OK' and select the path for your saved document. Repeat this process for each worksheet in your Excel document.
Once you have saved each of your Excel worksheets separately, you are ready to use phpMyAdmin's import function.
Most hosting service providers utilize the phpMyAdmin program to manage MySQL databases. If you are unsure how to access databases on your server, please contact your service provider.
Once you have accessed phpMyAdmin, you will need to create a new database. Click on the ‘Database' link. You will see a field labeled ‘Create new database'. Enter an appropriate name for your database, and click the ‘Create' button. You will see the SQL query that created your new database.
You now need to create a table(s) for your database. Under the ‘Create new table on database (Name you gave to database)' input field, enter the name of your new table and the ‘Number of fields' for your table. The number of fields value you enter should coincide with the amount of columns in the worksheet(s) you exported (and are about to import). Once you put the appropriate values in, select ‘Go'.
Next, you will need to manually type in the ‘Field' names for this table. The field name should correspond with the column header name of your worksheet. You will also have to insert the max ‘Length/Values' for the corresponding fields. These max values vary depending on what type of data will be included. A database column that has U.S. zip codes (without postal extension numbers) only needs to have the length/value set at 5. A database column that stores postal addresses will need more characters, hence a larger maximum length/value. Once you have assigned these header fields and their max values, click ‘Save'.
Now your ready to import your .csv file(s). On the left-hand column of phpMyAdmin interface, select the table you have just created. Next, click on the ‘Import' tab.
Select the ‘Browse' button and select the .csv file you created. Make sure ‘CSV' is selected under ‘Format of imported file'. Next, you will have to switch the value of the ‘Fields terminated by' field to a comma (,). You can leave everything else as is. Finally, click on the ‘Go' button.
To make sure all your data was imported, click on the ‘Browse' tab. You should see all the rows and data that have been imported from the .csv file.
To import multiple Excel worksheets, simply repeat steps 6 though 10 of this tutorial.

RSS, Atom and Web Feeds can be a confusing topic when you first start to hear about them, you will typically see them next to small icons (also known as Chicklets) like you see below on web pages with the option to subscribe to them.

If you are in a browser when you click on an RSS feed icon it may open another web site URL but more often than not say in Firefox it will offer to remember the feed in the toolbar favourites by you clicking on the 'subscribe' button. Then you can chose to save the feed in your desired location. If you go to the link you saved in your Firefox bookmarks you will see the main link and then sub links that represent each new page created which when clicked will display in your browser, Furefox calls this feature 'live bookmarks', this probably won't make much sense in terms of RSS feeds and the feed is better off being read in a browser like Safari or other news readers.

In Safari there is an RSS icon displayed on the right of the URL location field if the site has web feeds available, by clicking on the icon you will see the feed straightaway in the browser and can then bookmark it from there and if you click on the icon feed on the actual web page the same thing will happen. The display of the feed will have the blue horizontal bars with white headings and then the body copy in black.

The difference being that Safari has a real RSS reader built into it whereas Firefox will take you back to the html of the actual web site. THe RSS reader in Safari will also let you click back to the main site.

So whats it all about? Well the feed is a structured content channel that allows subscribers to be kept updated in any existing and new content on your site in a quick way even without having to visit the site.

The feed is constructed in XML language to a set of industry standard protocols that allow feed readers to display the data - the protocols are multiple and you have probably seen words and icons such as Atom, RSS 1 & 2. (RSS has a couple of explanations for its acronym, Rich Site Summary and Really Simple Syndication are 2 of them). I wouldn't get too hung on these though, most feed readers can display content from all with RSS 2 gaining more momentum.

The real benefit of an XML web feed is for busy subscribers, imagine if you had to monitor 20 web sites each morning for new content, going to 20 web sites could be a right pain compared to having one news reader that you can see in an instant all the new content pushed to you in real time, then you can decide if you want to visit the actual site or not.

These news readers are also known as RSS readers or news aggregators and can be either standalone software or browser based. As mentioned the Safari browser has an RSS reader built in but there is also a great standalone reader which is free called Newsfire for Mac users. For Windows you may want to try FeedReader.

If you would rather read your RSS Feeds via a browser, Google offer a service, or try Bloglines, which also is widely used. The iPhone also has RSS news readers, check it out at the app store in iTunes, there is a free version and some others at a fee.

When entering in a feed address to a reader or browser you would typically enter it in, in the following format:

http://www.yourwebsitehere/feed

Then this will automatically translate for you in the RSS reader as: feed://www.yourwebsitehere.com/feed/
