Taken for Thrash Hits

Tim Smithen of Koresh. I think this may possibly be my new favourite. Taken at The Hope, Brighton last week. Tim previously fronted Bognor based band Kill Keneda.

The images accompany an interview I held with front man Karl Middleton for Thrash Hits, where you can read the interview in full. Since the story broke, the band have been confirmed for several headline festival appearances including Damnation Festival and Sonisphere Knebworth.

Last week I got picked up for a last minute promoshoot for an ad campaign which is in this weeks Kerrang magazine, by Sonisphere 2010. The requirement was for a simplistic shoot to show off the t-shirts for the Knebworth leg of the international festival.

I would like to thank the models, Rach and Neil who were great to step up with just a few hours notice.

It was shot at Garage Studios in Brighton, using a Bowens Beauty dish and two gridded Bowens heads either side.

Still finding the build and performance of the Nikon D300s amazing.

To my knowledge, this is the first time I have seen something like this done. It’s most certainly the first time I have seen it done in Brighton.

Ustream was a massive success at the recent Wired Sussex convention held at the Brighton Dome providing many people the opportunity to catch seminars via the web who were unable to attend.

Last week Garage Studios released a promotional video, as a free download, again something which I believe to be a fashion first. The video was filmed in HD at the studio by fashion photographer, and co-founder of the studio Kevin Mason using the Canon 5D MKII.
