bull hill

the bull hill adventure began on november 16th, a warm late-fall day in new york. ava and john took the train up to cold springs to climb bull hill

unfortunately, they misjudged the available daylight hours and were forced to turn back before the summit. they tried again the following day, but were forced back this time before even reaching the trail, due to bad weather, a wrong turn, and terrible traffic.

return of the duckies

about a year and a half ago ava rounded up ducky, other ducky, and lemon, put them outside and declared they were going on a trip around the world.

eventually, she regretted this decision. there were tears. and multiple letters sent to the duckies. (how exactly do you send a letter to a duck.... well... you tie it on the end of a helium balloon and let it go, of course.) but for some reason those silly ducks just could not seem to get their act together to come home. (no postcards either!)

and then one day...

... we were at will's camp on nym lake, just doing some fishing in the early morning mist...

...when per spotted something strange coming towards us from the other side of the lake...

"what is it, per?"

"it's a duck!"

"no, wait, it's a duck BOAT! and it's coming right to us!" -per

"i KNOW THOSE DUCKS!" - ava

and the rest of the summer kinda went like this....
