<b>قرر الشركاء الاوروبين الثلاث في برنامج مقاتلات التورنيدو على امداد خدمة اسطول هذه المقاتلة ضمن قواتهم الجوية حتى عام <span style="color: #cc0000;">2030 </span>وفقاً لما صرحوا به<br />

جاء هذا التصريح من الشركاء الاوروبين الثلاث (بريطانيا ، المانيا وايطاليا) خلال حفل الذكرى ال 40 لتحليق اول نموذج تورنيدو والذي اقيم في 16 سبتمبر الفائت وبحضور ممثلين رسميين كبار من القوات الجوية السعودية والتي تعتبر الزبون الوحيد خارج ائتلاف شركاء التورنيدو<br />
<br />
اول طائرة تورنيدو خرجت من خط انتاج شركة <span style="color: #cc0000;">Airbus</span> للدفاع والفضاء بالمانيا وقامت باول رحلة جوية لها في 14 اغسطس عام 1974 وبعد ذلك بعامين تم توقيع عقد الانتاج المتعدد ليتم البدء بالتسليم في شهر يونيو عام <span style="color: #cc0000;">1979</span><br />

وحالياً تشغل اسلحة الجو الاربعة نحو 362 طائرة تورنيدو من الطراز الهجومي الضارب <span style="color: #cc0000;">IDS</span> وطراز الاستطلاع والهجوم الالكتروني <span style="color: #cc0000;">ECR</span><br />

تخطط كلاً من المانيا وايطاليا على ابقاء مقاتلات التورنيدو في الخدمة حتى عام <span style="color: #cc0000;">2025</span> على الاقل كما تخطط ايضاً السعودية على ابقاء طائراتها بالخدمة لنفس المدة وقد صرح خلال الحفل اللواء الالماني <span style="color: #cc0000;">Peter Schelzig</span> نائب رئيس الاركان بأنه يرى ان هذه الطائرة ستخدم 10 سنوات اخرى على الأقل وان كلاً من سلاح الجو الالماني والايطالي يبحثان عن امكانية ابقاءها بالخدمة لفترة اطول<br />

في شهر مارس <span style="color: #cc0000;">2014</span> افتتحت شركة<span style="color: #cc0000;"> Airbus</span> حضائر جديدة للصيانة والاصلاح والتجديد وهذه الحضائر الجديدة تتسع ل 20 طائرة تورنيدو في نفس الوقت وقد كلفت نحو <span style="color: #cc0000;">37 مليون يورو </span>(<span style="color: #cc0000;">47 مليون دولار</span>) ووفقاً للخطط الحالية فانه سيتم ترقية ال 85 طائرة تورنيدو المانية الى مستوى معيار ASSTA 3 <br />

ايطاليا هي الاخرى تخطط لابقاء مقاتلات التورنيدو في خدمة سلاحها الجوي لفترة 10 او 15 سنة على الأقل وفقاً لرئيس هيئة عمليات القوات الجوية اللواء<span style="color: #e06666;"> </span><span style="color: #cc0000;">Maurizio Lodovisi</span><br />

اما بالنسبة لاكبر مشغل لطائرت التورنيدو فقد اعلن سلاح الجو البريطاني انه سوف يسحب طائرات التورنيدو من الخدمة خلال عامي <span style="color: #cc0000;">2018-2019</span> والتي قامت بنشر التورنيدو في الخطوط الامامية في كلاً من افغانستان والعراق ونيجيريا<br />

وقد صرح نائب قائد العمليات في قيادة سلاح الجو البريطاني <span style="color: #cc0000;">Greg Bagwell</span> "بانها واحدة من الاشياء المؤسفة التي تحصل لجميع الطائرات المقاتلة هي خروجها من الخدمة وتقاعدها عندما تكون في اشد قوتها" واضاف ايضاً "نحن نود ان نراها ابعد من ذلك لكن لكل شي وقته"<br />

على اية حال المدير العام في وكالة الناتو لادارة مقاتلات التورنيدو والتايفون <span style="color: #cc0000;">NETMA </span>اللواء <span style="color: #cc0000;">Graham Farnell</span> يعارض هذا الرأي ويقول "التورنيدو تستمر في التطور اليوم واعتقد بانه لدينا طريق طويل حتى نرى نهاية هذه المقاتلة"</b><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">غير ان مشروع المطار لم يمر دون جدل، حيث اعترض مدافعون عن البيئة على تدمير مناطق بها أحراج وبحيرات من أجل المطار، فضلا عن اتهامات - رغم عدم وجود اتهامات رسمية - بالفساد لمسؤولين يترأسون الكونسورتيوم.</span><span style="font-size: large;">وتبلغ القدرة الاستيعابية لمطار أتاتورك الدولي، الذي هو في الوقت الراهن أكبر مطار في اسطنبول، نحو 37 مليون مسافر سنويا، في حين ان الطاقة الاستيعابية لمطار صبيحة كوكجن، الواقع على الجانب الآسيوي من المدينة، نحو 13 مليون شخص سنويا.</span></h4>
