AVD is now using ConnectCAD for all Schematic drawings

We decided to use ConnectCAD in our office for a few reasons:
1. The only Audio-Visual drawing system to work on a Mac. (Saar's preferred OS)
2. A simple system that we can start using immediately without creating all the objects in advance
3. Open and customizable system.
4. A very good price compared to the competition.

Saar created his first drawing in a matter of days.
We hope this software will help us improve the quality of service we provide to our clients.

בכנס האגודה האחרון שנערך בהרצליה ב 12.5.2011 הרצה דני על הזיקה בין תכנון אקוסטי של אולמות לבין המערכות האלקטרואקוסטיות המותקנות בהן.

We have just posted version 2.1 of our iPad App "AVD Browse" to Apple.
Usually it will take Apple about a week to approve the App.
This Version will have some nice new features:

New Email On App Exit option, will email the admin every time the App will quit
New Server Side Script Option, Some users have their own tracking system, with this new feature user can run script on a server when a few actions on the App are happening.
New Pop Up notification with custom text when the app quits.

From rAVe: Premier Mounts Shows New iPad Mounts

At ISE, Premier Mounts introduced the new IPM 700 series iPad mounts. These mounts are meant for unattended iPads being used for digital signage such as meeting room scheduling information and content delivery. The decorative bezels are made of sturdy metal in a variety of finishes. The frame behind the bezel mounts the iPad securely, and can mount onto a back box with room for power and cabling. Premier told rAVe the mounts would be shipping in about three months.

Premier Mounts booth on ISE 2011 presented a new iPad mount designed by AVD.
The mount will allow the user to permanently mount an iPad to a wall.
The mount is only 20mm think, have a blocked home button and will be available in a few finishes.
AVD App “AVD Browse” was installed on all 3 iPads and was displaying presentations and registration HTML Pages.

AVD Releases Version 2.0 Of "AVD Browse"

AVD Browse is a web browser for the iPad that allows access to a specific website or web page.
The App was created especially for applications in which the iPad is permanently installed in a holding device, to prevent the user from pressing the Home button. The App can be used in museums, visitor centers and exhibitions, to allow user access to a specific web page without being able to access other sites.
In the App settings, the user can set the browser home page, choose to display or hide the StatusBar and the ToolBar and set a timeout that will send the browser back to the home page.

Version 2.0 adds the ability to set 3 different Home Pages, disable external links and alerting the administrator when the devise is shaking

- Works in Portrait or Landscape mode
- No Address bar

- No Search field

- No Bookmarks

- Disabled phone number detection.

- Shows or hides the top information bar

בערב יום רביעי, 13 באוקטובר 2010, נחנך בבית לוחמי הגטאות, לאחר שנתיים של עבודת שחזור, עדכון ועיצוב מחודשים, אולם חדש – אולם "טרבלינקה".
התצוגה באולם משרטטת באופן מתומצת את מפעל השמדת יהודי אירופה, כולל עדויות ותיעודים ייחודיים, תוך התמקדות במחנה טרבלינקה.
AVD ביצעו באולם את כל עבודת תכנון מערכות המולטימדיה ותיאום הכנת החומרים הדיגיטליים.

On October 13th, 2010 the Treblinka Hall was inaugurated after two years of renovation, updating and re-designing.
The exhibit presents a condensed outline of the industrial death of European Jewry, including distinctive testimonies and documentation, focusing on the Treblinka death camp.
AVD designed and commissioned the audio visual systems is the hall.

תפקידו של יועץ ומתכנן מערכות אודיו וידאו

הקדמה:

מערכות אודיו-וידאו תופסות נפח רב יותר ויותר בחללים אדריכליים כגון מוזיאונים, חדרי ישיבות, אולמות כנסים, מרכזי מבקרים, תאטראות, שילוט אלקטרוני וכיו"ב. מערכות מורכבות ומתוחכמות הן מחזה שכיח כל כך, עד כי קשה לתאר כיום מבנה חדש ללא מולטימדיה בנפח זה או אחר. יתר על כן, מערכות מולטימדיה אינן מערכות נפרדות עוד. ברוב המקרים יש צורך לשלב בין מוצרים שונים מיצרנים שונים שונים למערכת אינטגרטיבית אחת.

• טכנולוגיות אודיו-וידאו משתנות ומתקדמות בקצב כה מהיר, עד כי בשנה אחת אפשר שיתחלפו שני דורות של מוצרים.
• אין זה סביר לדרוש מאדריכל או יועץ חשמל להתעדכן בקצב המסחרר של שינויי המגמות בעולם המולטימדיה.
• יש להעביר את אחריות היעוץ והתכנון למקצוען בתחום.
• מתכנן אודיו-וידאו צריך להיות מעורב בפרויקט בשלב מוקדם ככל הניתן.

תהליך התכנון:

תכנון מערכות מולטימדיה הוא תהליך יצירתי וצריך להתבצע במקביל לשאר ענפי התכנון בפרויקט. יועץ/מתכנן אודיו-וידאו צריך להיות מעורב בפרויקט כבר בשלבי התכנון הקונספטואלי כחלק מצוות התכנון.

• בשלב המקדמי יכין היועץ מודל ממוחשב תלת מימדי של החללים. במודל ימוקמו כל האלמנטים של מערכות אודיו וידאו ויוצגו לאישור המזמין והאדריכלים.
• הצגת המודל תלווה באומדן תקציבי ראשוני לאישור המזמין.
• לאחר אישור המודל והתקציב ע"י המזמין וע"י האדריכלים, ייגש היועץ לשלב תכנון התשתיות.
• היועץ יפיק תכניות תשתית. התכניות יכללו את כל המיקומים, הקואורדינטות,
ההכנות, המובילים, דרישות החשמל והתקשורת. וכל יתר דרישות התשתית בשלבי הבינוי והגמרים.
• היועץ יבדוק ויתאם את נושא התשתיות עם יועצי החשמל והתקשורת כמו גם עם המעצבים. הוא יוודא כי ההכנות והתשתיות הדרושות למערכות מולטימדיה אכן מתבצעות בשטח.
• עם סיום שלב התשתיות, ייגש היועץ לתכנון מפורט חד קוי של המערכות. אפיון הציוד, מפרטים, כתבי כמויות ואומדן מכרז מפורט כבסיס לתיחור ספקים.
• היועץ יבדוק את הצעות המחיר ילווה וידריך את נציג המזמין בהליך המו"מ עם הספקים עד לשלב בחירת הספק המבצע. הוא ידריך את הספק המבצע ויתמוך בו לאורך כל הליך הביצוע עד השלמת כל המתקנים והפעלתם.

• ניסיון רב שנים הוכיח כי תיחור ספקים במכרז על בסיס כתב כמויות אחיד מסייע למזמין לחסוך
כ-%30 בעלות הסופית של מערכות אודיו וידאו שליטה ובקרה.

מדוע לא לסמוך על קבלנים שיתכננו וייתנו יעוץ?

ספקים אינטגרטורים מרוויחים ממכירה והתקנת ציוד אותו הם מיבאים. לצערינו הציוד שמתאים להם אינו תמיד הפיתרון המתאים לפרויקט. עלינו לזכור כי קבלן הוא קבלן, ואינו מתכנן. הקבלן נוטה למכור את מה שמעניק לו רווח ולאו דווקא את מה שמתאים לצרכיו או לתקציבו של המזמין.

יש לבצע הפרדה מוחלטת בין תכנון ואפיון המערכות לבין הביצוע. עלינו לזכור כי יועץ ומתכנן עצמאי עובד עבור המזמין ומייצג אך ורק את האינטרסים של המזמין, בעוד שלקבלן אינטגרטור יש ניגוד אינטרסים מובהק. כאשר תתעוררנה מחלוקות מקצועיות בינו לבין המזמין, תמיד תהיה ידו של הקבלן על העליונה, באין יועץ אובייקטיבי שיבדוק ויחווה דעתו.

• היועץ מייצג את האינטרסים של המזמין כפי שעו"ד מייצג את האינטרסים של הלקוח.

שלב ההתקנה, בדיקות, וקבלת המערכות:

שימוש נכון ביועץ האודיו-וידאו בשלב ההתקנה יסייע לשמור על ההשקעה הכספית של המזמין. קבלנים ינסו לפעמים "לעגל פינות", וללא נציג טכני השומר על האינטרסים של המזמין, יתכן כי המערכת המותקנת לא תהיה המערכת שתוכננה. ללא יועץ, המזמין לעולם לא ידע האם ההתקנה בוצעה לפי התכנון. ללא בדיקת היועץ לא ניתן לדעת כי המערכת עומדת בהגדרות המפרט.

• נושאים אלו צריכים להיות מטופלים לפני ביצוע התשלום לקבלן. המזמין יעביר תשלומים לקבלן רק לאחר אישורו של היועץ כי הקבלן סיים את עבודתו.
• היועץ יאשר כי המערכות שהתקין הקבלן עומדות בדרישות המפרט הטכני עליו חתום הקבלן, וכי כל המערכות מכוונות, מתוכנתות, ומתפקדות כראוי. מדובר בתהליך מסירה של בדיקות, רג'קטים, בדיקות חוזרות, וכך עד להשלמת המתקנים ומכתב מסירה סופי.
• שיטה זו היא הדרך היחידה של המזמין לוודא כי קיבל את התמורה המלאה לכספו ולהבטיח קבלת תיעוד מערכת, ביצוע הדרכות ללקוח, ועמידה בתנאי הסכם אחריות ושרות רב שנתי מצד הקבלן.

עלויות:

מערכת שתוכננה באופן מקצועי ויסודי משביחה את החלל. מערכת שתוכננה באופן לא מקצועי תהווה הפרעה ותוריד מאיכות החלל במקום להשביח אותו.

עלות היעוץ והתכנון מהווה אחוז נמוך ביותר מעלותו הכוללת של הפרויקט. חשוב לכלול את עלויות שכ"ט יועץ אודיו-וידאו בתחשיב הפרויקט מלכתחילה. בשלב מאוחר יותר של הפרויקט, כאשר מבינים את הצורך ביועץ, קשה הרבה יותר למצא את הכסף הדרוש על מנת לבצע תכנון איכותי.

• חשוב לכלול עלות יועץ אודיו-וידאו בתקציב הפרויקט מהתחלה. הניסיון מלמד כי החיסכון המתקבל בעזרת ייעוץ מקצועי ותיחור ספקים, עולה בהרבה על עלויות שכ"ט היועץ.

פרויקט לדוגמה, מוזיאון ישראל בירושלים:

כשנתקבלה ההחלטה על שיפוץ המוזיאון לפני יותר משלוש שנים, הוחלט כי צוות המוזיאון הקיים ישמש כצוות ההקמה של המוזיאון החדש. הוחלט כי צוותי האוצרות, העיצוב והתכנים של המוזיאון יתכננו את התצוגה החדשה במבנה המחודש. נציין כאן כי מדובר בעשרות אנשים בעלי תפקידים. כולם מומחים בתחומם, אולם איש מהם מעולם לא עסק קודם לכן בפרוייקט בינוי.

הצוות הפנימי של המוזיאון תוגבר בשורת יועצים ומתכננים מכל ענפי הבניין, כוחות טובים ומנוסים שקצרה היריעה מלמנות. נשכרו מומחים לויטרינות מחו"ל, הועסקו יועצי חשמל ותקשורת, בטיחות, ביטחון, מיזוג, איטום, נוף, שילוט ומה לא...רק תחום "שולי" אחד נותר באחריות צוות המוזיאון ולא נעזר במתכנים חיצוניים – תחום מערכות אודיו וידאו.

כדי לסבר את האוזן, מדובר בפרויקט הכולל כמאה ערוצי וידאו דיגיטליים, כמאה צגי וידאו ומקרנים, וכמאה נגני וידאו דיגיטליים. בשנתיים הראשונות לא היו למוזיאון יועצים או מתכננים חיצוניים לנושא אודיו וידאו. עם התקדמות התכנון והמעבר לשלבי ביצוע התשתיות הסתבר כי מערכות אודיו וידאו מהוות חלק נכבד ביותר בתצוגה וכי לא ניתן יהיה להתקדם ללא תכנון הנדסי למערכות אילו. בשלב זה החליט המוזיאון החליט לפנות ליועצים למערכות אודיו וידאו.

במהלך שנתיים של עבודה מאומצת נמצאו פתרונות לכל הסוגיות, אולם מובן כי אילו פנה המוזיאון לייעוץ מקצועי שנה קודם לכן, היו נחסכים מאמצים ומשברים רבים.

מוזיאון ישראל הוא רק דוגמא אחת מיני רבות. אנו מבקשים לנסות ולשנות את המצב. להחדיר לתודעה של כל העוסקים בענף את המסר:

בכל הקשור למערכות אודיו וידאו, מוטב לקבל ייעוץ ותכנון הנדסי מקצועי מוקדם ככל הניתן ולהמנע משגיאות. שגיאות עולות כסף וגוזלות זמן. תכנון מקצועי מהשלבים הראשונים חוסך כסף ומשיג תוצאה טובה הרבה יותר.

The Israel Museum In Jerusalem Officially Opened

JERUSALEM, Israel. July 26, 2010 --- The renovated Israel museum in Jerusalem was officially opened last night (July 25,2010) in a grand opening.

After almost three years of detailed design work with the museum architects, interior designers and curators, the museum now includes more than 100 video channels displayed on LCD screens and projectors, a few touch screens with interactive labeling system, digital signage system, ambient sound systems and more.

AVD role in the project was divided into two Sections, in the first part AVD worked with the museum’s curators, interior designers and architects in order to make sure every gallery and every artist will get full attention and respect. This phase of work included meetings with artists and curators to select the proper screen size, projector type and content delivery method. Working with the architects on an innovative solution for ceiling design that was presented and designed by AVD. It is a key detail that enables safe and discreet installation for video projectors and exhibition lighting whiles keeping a clean elegant ceiling. This detail was developed by AVD and adopted by the museum architects to be the main technical ceiling detail in almost all galleries and exhibition halls.

AVD also created detailed infrastructure drawings and 3D technical models for the galleries, Supervised the infrastructure installation, issued tenders, selected and supported the integration contractor during the installation phase.

The second part of the job was to support and consult the museum on ways to digitize their analog video collection so that it will be played on the new digital players. The museum has video arts dating back to the early 70’ in formats ranging from VHS true Laserdisc all the way to Digital Beta. All had to be digitized in the correct aspect ratio and bit rate, so they could be played on the new digital players. AVD worked with the curators and with new content creators to verify that it will be played correctly on the digital players.
