Custom roman shades & faux iron in Southlake, Texas

What do you get when you have roman shades mixed with faux iron? Design inspiration! These roman shades were made in a linen fabric with jute banding, and then topped them with Tableaux faux iron inserts in Antique Bronze. Best of all, these custom shades are totally cordless!

This is the perfect answer for a master suite that is welcoming, relaxing and done in style! The client wanted colors that went with her new color scheme of white, silver and charcoal. The valances were made in a silver silk with accent pleats and cord in a charcoal silk. We also added metal medallions at the top pleats for more definition. Roller shades in the same charcoal color for privacy and light control. Of course, we added the faux iron in a pewter finish for the perfect accent in the upper windows. Ooh la la!!!

Paint the Hidden Places

Sometimes there are colors you adore but haven't quite found the courage or an appropriate place to use. Why not use them to paint those places or surfaces usually hidden from everyday view, such as the inside of your kitchen cupboards or cutlery drawers? It will make a refreshing change from the off-white color usually used through habit or unadventure.

Think About Colors You Like to Wear

Even if you think you're bad at choosing color, we all actually make design decisions and color choices every day—when we're preparing a meal, for instance, or simply getting dressed in the morning. So think about the colors you like to wear. The colors you feel good in are the ones that will ultimately be the most satisfying for you to live with. If you start thinking about decoration in new ways, the process of choosing color becomes much simpler.

This was such a fun install! The owner of Mellow Mushroom wanted a funky, marrakesh-like treatment to give a finishing touch to this new restaurant off the square in Denton, TX. Just finished an install for a customer in Waxahatchie. We used a tonal stripe in copper, green, aqua and gold to make the bishop style draperies with sheer vine relaxed roman shades. Very soft in style, but the vibrant colors go great with her floral parsons chairs. We also did a tailored roman shade in an ocean blue cotton print for another room. We had fun with this house, thank you to the homeowner!

We just completed this project for our client in Flower Mound, Texas. They chose custom 4 1/2" plantation shutters with a large decorative frame. We made custom swag and cascade treatment for the formal dining, gorgeous silk panels and pelmet valances in the formal living, and panels hung on medallions for the family room. Nantucket shadings from Hunter Douglas were put under the panels to softly filter light while retaining the view to their backyard. Beautiful!

We just did window treatments for a restored victorian home in Waxahachie, Texas. The client picked a washed linen floral for the Brighton shade in the kitchen. It was the perfect touch without being overbearing.

Pelmet valances in an equestrian print over brown suede roller shades accented the decor in this masculine study.

Decorative side panels on walnut wood poles with decorative finials highlight the beautiful antique fireplace.

We had a client in the Keller area whose order was delayed because of the ice and snowstorm back in February. We appreciate her patience, it was truly tested! Finally got it all finished and it turned out beautiful! We did custom wood traverse rods with pleated draperies to keep out the heat and cold. The fabrics were a rich chenille velvet in burnished gold topped with a red faux silk. Total coverage when needed, nicely stacked panels when open.

Next we added faux silk roman shades in the Master Suite.
