Nehemia the Electrician

As part of the Galitz photography club we went to Florentin for some photo opportunities. Right on the start I meet Nehemia the electrician who has been working as an electrician for many years. He even worked as an electrician for Fuji’s distributor in Israel a while back. He was kind enough to let me take some pictures in his store and luckily he ignored me quite completely once I started taking photos Since I was limited in time because I was in a group, all the images below were taken in a 15 minutes timeframe or so. I used my new Nikkor 24mm 1.4 for these.

The Streets of Neve Tzedek

Yesterday I went to my first photo session as part of Galitz photo club. It was a street photography session with photographer Felix Lupa. Since we started at 4PM it was crazy hot and the sun created extreme shadows so it was a big challenge but it was fun nevertheless (Didn’t learn much though…). NICE photography fundamentals course second session outside was in Tel-Aviv at Nahalat-Beniamin and Shinkin. It was a very busy Friday morning but the area is just full of photographic opportunities! All images shot with either the Nikon 16-35 VR or Nikon 70-200 VR II.

For this image I used my SB-800 flash off camera using a SC-17 remote TTL cord. It gave just enough fill light to give the subject the needed pop.

Friday Morning at the Park

For the first time, a photography fundamentals course was opened at my place of work. Today I joined the course members for their fourth session which was the first session that they went outside to shoot. The session was at Park Hayarkon which is my favorite spot for short photography walkabouts and these are the images I managed to grab -

It has been more than a year since our trip to Argentina and Chile and I did not post pictures as of yet just because I just had too many photos! Well, it’s never too late and I decided to start posting some photos and I will do it based on different location we visited during our trip. I decided to start with Ushuaia which is one of “the southernmost cities” of the world. An amazing city and one of the few points where you can start a cruise trip to Antarctica (not a cheap cruise though…)

Montefiore Neighborhood

Trying out new gear is the perfect excuse to go out shooting (not that an excuse is ever needed to go out and snap away . Testing out the new 70-200 F2.8 VR II was needed and therefore I went out to Montefiore neighborhood to take some HDR’s. I really like urban HDR photography since the streets are just full of such interesting textures. Montefiore neighborhood turned out to be a lovely place to take photos on a Friday afternoon – it was so quiet and relaxing!
