Children above the age of two (2) and below the age of twelve (12) years are regarded as Minors. Children aged between the ages of 2 and 5 must be accompanied by a companion aged 18 years or more. IndiGo may, at its sole discretion, accept unaccompanied minors, that is, children aged above 5 and below 12 upon payment of an additional fee.A parent or guardian is required to complete a signed form (Form to be downloaded from indogo official website) at the point of check-in at each departure airport prior to travel, which must include the name and contact numbers for a parent or guardian (above the age of 18) who will meet the unaccompanied minor at the point of arrival.Valid photo-ID for both the unaccompanied minor and the parent or guardian is required at the point of check-in. During the flight our cabin crew will keep an eye on the child and will make sure that they have everything they need. Do not worry about the meal, as it is included on our Flying Solo program. To make sure that the child has a comfortable flight, the parent is requested to pack medication, warm clothing and a favorite toy or game in their hand baggage.
If the stopover at transfer station is less than 6 hours and if the child is booked through out on IndiGo, we shall be able to accept the child under Flying Solo Services. Commencing on 15 February 2015, the new flights will bring the total number of Indian cities served by Etihad Airways to 11, with existing routes including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai, New Delhi and Trivandrum.

Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. The city is the main commercial, financial and educational hub of East and Northeast India, and is the third largest contributor to India’s economy in terms of GDP contribution.

Home to a diverse mix of cultures, Kolkata boasts modern and colonial architecture, multiple monuments, and has a metropolis population of over 15 million, making it India’s second largest city.

Etihad Airways already places its ‘EY’ flight code on its codeshare and network partner, Jet Airways’ domestic routes from hubs in Mumbai and Bangalore to Kolkata.

The UAE flag carrier recently announced a major expansion of its codeshare agreement with Jet Airways, offering travellers enhanced connections throughout India, and linking India with even more destinations worldwide. This move brings the combined number of codeshare services offered by both airlines to 71.

The new Abu Dhabi - Kolkata route will be operated by a two-class Airbus A320 aircraft configured to carry 136 passengers, with 16 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class seats, offering a total of 1,904 seats per week.

Etihad Airways has announced six new routes for the first half of 2015, starting with Kolkata in February, Madrid in March, Entebbe in May, and Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Algiers in June.

The airline’s flights to and from Kolkata can be booked from today on etihad.com, through Etihad Airways Contact Centres, or via travel agents.

Policy for Carriage of Live Animals in SpiceJet

SpiceJet carries live animals on the Boeing B737-800 and 900 series aircraft, only in the hold. We do not carry live animals on the passenger cabin

Animals such as dogs, cats and other pets when properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates and other documents required for carriage by air will, with the advance agreement of carrier, be accepted for carriage, subject to Carrier’s regulations.

Domestic pets such as dogs and cats are permitted on SpiceJet flights as freight, in the pressurized and temperature controlled area of the aircraft hold, subject to the following conditions:

Properly carried in a container/kennel which should be made of non-chewable material with smooth edges and properly ventilated in the prescribed size.
Pet accepted at owner's risk and SpiceJet will not be responsible in the event of such pets being refused entry into or passage through any territory.
The owner will be responsible for compliance with all governmental customs and health requirements, including quarantine arrangements.
The owner will assume all the risks of injury, sickness or death of the pet accepted for carriage.
A declaration indemnifying SpiceJet will be obtained from the passenger
The owner must ensure their pets meet the quarantine requirements. Pets may be subjected to quarantine at destination at the owner’s expense. The quarantine period may vary and would be at the discretion of the vet authorities at destination.

Below are few points to be followed with respect to Carriage of animals:

Only on domestic flights: Domesticated dogs, cats and rabbits
Note: SpiceJet policy prohibits certain aggressive breeds of dogs, hybrid dogs / cats, short-muzzled dogs, for transport by air.
Females with suckling young and un-weaned animals are not accepted.
Weaned puppies / kittens under 12 weeks not accepted
Accepted on flights operated by Boeing aircraft only.
Must be carried in the cargo hold, cannot be carried in the cabin. (Note: Service animals accompanying a disabled passenger in the passenger cabin do not fall under this category)
One passenger can carry a maximum of 3 containers / Kennels
No Airline / SpiceJet liability in case of injury / death

IV. Animals may only travel if accompanied by a passenger /owner.

Security Requirements:

All animals must be scanned /screened with a Hand Held Metal Detector (HHMD) prior to acceptance for carriage by air as baggage / freight.

Container requirements:

The minimum container, packaging and handling requirements as published in the IATA Live Animals Regulations must be met. These regulations prescribe the materials to be used, size, frame, etc.
The container should be escape proof, leak proof and of the proper size
It should have ample ventilation
The container must be strong i.e. not of chewable material.
Each animal in the container must have enough space to turn about easily while standing and high enough to allow it to stand and sit erect and to lie down in a natural position.
The cage must be properly secured.
Properly carried in a container/kennel which should be made of non-chewable material with smooth edges and properly ventilated in the prescribed size. (Kennel size not to exceed 18" x 18" x 12").
Pets are usually accepted on a one to one basis per container. However two small pets of the same species and same owner can share a container if they are between 8 weeks and not weighing over 10 Kgs each, or, a mother with offspring of less than 4 months.

Documents required:

Health certificate from a qualified veterinary doctor.
Letter / certificate from the veterinary doctor stating the animal’s fitness for carriage by air.
Vaccination / Immunization record with Rabies vaccination date.
A declaration indemnifying the SpiceJet with the owner / passenger assuming all the risks of injury, sickness or death of the pet accepted for carriage, will be obtained from the passenger.
Other documents may be required, depending on local regulations.
All documents must be in English, unless otherwise specified.

*Health problems

Pugs lack longer snouts and prominent skeletal brow ridges and hence are susceptible to eye injuries such as proptosis and scratched corneas and painful entropion. They also have compact breathing passageways, leaving many unable to breathe properly or efficiently regulate their temperature through evaporation from the tongue. A pug's normal body temperature is between 101 °F (38 °C) and 102 °F (39 °C). If the temperature rises to 105 °F (41 °C) they are no longer able to cope with cooling themselves and their oxygen demand is greatly increased, and requires cooling down immediately. Should the temperature reach 108 °F (42 °C), the internal organs begin to break down at a cellular level which can lead to severe long term health issues or even death.

Pugs living a mostly sedentary life can be prone to obesity, though this is avoidable with regular exercise and a healthy diet. A UK Kennel Club survey puts the average life span of Pugs at 10 years.

An investigative documentary carried out by the BBC found significant inbreeding between pedigree dogs, with a study by Imperial College, London, showing that the 10,000 pugs in the UK are so inbred that their gene pool is the equivalent of only 50 individuals.

AIR fares to the key Indian cities of Delhi and Mumbai are set to tumble by more than half as the first budget carrier muscles in on the routes.
IndiGo, India's second biggest domestic carrier, will offer daily Singapore-Delhi flights from Sept 15.
It starts its runs to and from Mumbai the following month, and will add Chennai and Bangalore by early next year.
At a Singapore press conference on Tuesday, IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said he is confident it will expand, rather than cannibalise, the market.

The Singapore-Delhi sector, covered in a 5 1/2-hour flight, is nowserved by India's full-service carriers Air India and Jet Airways, and Singapore Airlines; Singapore-Mumbai is served by five airlines, including Australia's Qantas and India's Kingfisher Airlines.

With strong ties between the two countries and a growing expatriate population on both sides, potential exists for growth in the Singapore-India air travel market, Mr Ghosh said, adding: 'I really, truly believe that the market will expand, so I'm not sure that we're looking at eating market share from anyone.'

Jet Airways, India’s premier International airline, has entered into a partnership with ngpay, offering guests a convenient option to seamlessly book Jet Airways tickets on their mobile phones. With over a million users, ngpay is the fastest growing end-to-end mobile commerce service in India.

This service will allow guests to book, cancel and refund their eTickets and also manage payment cards on their phones. Malaysia Airlines is to join oneworld, adding one of aviation's most frequent award winners to the world's leading quality airline alliance.

Malaysia Airlines was unanimously elected a oneworld member designate by the Chief Executives of the alliance's member airlines, at a meeting on the sidelines of IATA's 2011 World Air Transport Summit, which opens in Singapore today.

A formal alliance membership agreement will be completed soon.

Malaysia Airlines is expected to start flying as part of oneworld late next year.

As it prepares for its alliance membership, Malaysia Airlines intends to develop bilateral links with a number of oneworld's established partners, who include some of the biggest and best names in the airline industry. It already code-shares with oneworld partners Cathay Pacific and Royal Jordanian.

When it becomes part of oneworld, its customers will gain access to the alliance's truly global network. It will expand oneworld's global coverage to almost 950 destinations in 150 countries, served by a combined fleet of more than 2,600 aircraft operating some 10,000 flights a day and carrying 358 million passengers a year.
