<p><strong>2300 C.C. Great Plains VW Volkswagon Aircraft Engine For Gyrocopter Or Airplane</strong></p>
<p>Up for auction is my brand new, zero time, Great Plains VW Aircraft engine. I bought this engine direct from Great Plains in March of 2009 for my gyrocopter project. I decided to rebuild the existing engine, so now I no longer need this engine. Original purchase documents are shown below. I also have the Type 1 VW Engine Assembly Manual for VW-Powered Sport Aircraft as supplied on DVD from Great Plains and it is included in this sale. Also included with the engine, but not shown in the photographs, are the machined aluminum magneto mount, coupler, and the single magneto. Notice on the purchase documents that this is a highly upgraded aircraft engine with the premium cylinder heads (94mm) and the heads are machined to accept 14mm aircraft plugs. The compression of this engine is 8.0:1. I paid extra to have the block powder coated grey and black and the engine is a work of art. The engine has been test run at Great Plains factory and has no other run time on it. See the attached engine test report. You will also see that I paid Great Plains just under $5,400.00 for this engine, plus $650.00 for freight to my location near Portland, Oregon. I still have the original shipping crate that can be used to ship the engine to the auction winner. Good luck on your bidding!</p>

ALSO ADDED WERE A 3RD BACK WINDOW, AND INTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS, AS WELL AS MANY AIRFRAME BEEF-UPS TO HANDLE THE 200 MPH SPEEDS THE J MODEL IS CAPABLE OF ALTHOUGH WENTWORTH AIRCRAFT INC. PARTS OF THE HANGER ROOF COLLAPSED, AND SOME OF THIS CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS FELL ONTO THIS PLANE DAMAGE IS AS FOLLOWS: THE LEFT CLAMSHELL SECTION OF THE UPPER COWL HAS A SHALLOW DENT ON THE FORWARD 1/3 THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AS A RESULT THE RIGHT WING HAS TWO PUNCTURES: THE FIRST IS AFT OF THE LEADING EDGE, ON THE TOP OF THE SKIN, WHERE IT HEADS BACK TOWARD THE FRONT SPAR, BUT IT DID NOT AFFECT THE FRONT SPAR. THIS TORN HOLE AFFECTS THE SKIN, AND TWO LEADING EDGE RIBS ONLY THE OTHER HOLE IS MUCH SMALLER, ABOUT THE SIZE OF A NOTE CARD, IN THE TOP SKIN BETWEEN THE TWO SPARS. THIS HOLE ONLY SEEMS TO BE IN A SKIN THE LAST HOLE IS ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THE RIGHT FLAP, AND DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE AFFECTED THE WING THERE IS NO MORE AIRFRAME DAMAGE TO THIS WHOLE AIRPLANE !! THAT IS ALL OF THE DAMAGE WE CAN FIND !! NO SPAR DAMAGE, NO FUSELAGE DAMAGE, NO TAIL DAMAGE, THE ONLY CONTROL SURFACE DAMAGE EXCEPT THE HOLE IN THE RIGHT FLAP SKIN, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE GEAR OR GEAR DOORS, FRONT OR MAIN !! THE OVERALL APPEARENCE OF THIS AIRCRAFT IS OK, ALLOVER WHITE WITH RED AND BLUE STRIPES, IN A MODERN SCHEME, BUT THE PAINT ADHESION IS NOT GREAT, SO UP CLOSE YOU CAN SEE AREAS WERE THE PAINT FLAKED OFF. NEEDS A GOOD TOUCH-UP, NOT NECESSARILY A REPAINT THE INTERIOR IS SIMILAR, CERTAINLY USABLE AS IS, BUT NOT A REAL LOOKER. SOME OF THOSE INEXPENSIVE LEATHER HIDES WE HAVE FOR SALE ON EBAY WOULD SURE LOOK GOOD IN HERE !!!! Description We got this in a large lot of aircraft/helicopter parts. The accompanying ID tag indicated that it was removed from 4055L (Eurocopter AS 350 B2 ECUREUIL Helicopter) in 2007. There were no remarks noting the reason for removal, however all of the other similar ones we got from the same lot had been removed due to aircraft modification. We have no specifications or other data. See pictures for additional information. Condition It is in good physical condition with the minor dings and scratches that come from normal use. <p>The item is being auctioned/sold as is. We had this item tested on an aviation intercom unit and works good as it should, How? We have a aviation intercom unit and most to all the adapters, U-174, and Dual GA adapter. When we test the headset we plug them in to the intercom unit and talk into the mic and see if we can hear ourselves out of both sides. History of this headset is unknown as far as hours used, date purchased, or mfg date. Overall condition is 8 out of 10. Also comes with carry bag. Thanks for looking.</p>

The features of this time honored classic were the direct result of a year long market study conducted by CGS to see what pilots really wanted in an ultralight. This survey showed the most desired features were: fully enclosed cockpit with removable doors (for summer flying enjoyment), full 3 axis control, true aircraft flaps (not flaperons), strut braced wing and tail, choice of tricycle gear (with steerable nose wheel) or taildragger (with steerable tail wheel), and a pusher engine. All of these are standard features on all CGS Hawk models to this day. The basic model includes wing struts that are round tubing, and incorporate jury struts. The wing design has a double surface flat bottomed airfoil for stable flight characteristics. The nose is rounded on the bottom and the windshield has a flatter angle than the CGS Hawk Arrow models. Flaps (not flaperons) are standard equipment on all Hawks and are very effective in increasing climb rate and decreasing landing distance. At the heart of the Hawk&#8217;s unique design is its curved boom tube (which has never been successfully copied by any other ultralight manufacturer). The curved boom allows the horizontal stabilizer to be placed up and above the down wash of the wing, especially when flaps are deployed. Another benefit of the curve is shorter landing gear legs, which make it easier to get in and out of your plane. The curved boom also is stronger in torsion than a straight boom, and allows the airplane to rotate for take offs and landings in a normal fashion without banging the boom on the ground. It is also aesthetically pleasing to look at. CGS Hawk&#8230;The Facts The CGS Hawk includes a variety of impressive standard features: A 360 degree roll cage structure including seat belts, shoulder harness, and rigid pilot seat. Fully enclosed, with or without side curtains, this offers year round flying. The 3-axis control system uses the same configuration as conventional aircraft; control stick for ailerons and elevator movement, and pedals for rudder control. This system is harmonized using the A:E:R=1:2:4 ratio developed by the military. This ratio of aileron, elevator, and rudder forces feels most natural to the pilot and minimizes fatigue on long flights. Supplemented with the four-position wing flaps, this gives the pilot the capability to handle strong crosswind and tight approaches. Stall and spin resistant characteristics were designed into the Hawk based on a National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) Report. The wings have 4 degrees of washout (twist), which provides gentle stall characteristics and excellent aileron response at all speeds. The positioning of the horizontal stabilizer allows the pilot to sideslip the Hawk, even with the flaps down. Larger than usual tail surfaces offer solid control at low speeds and docile CG characteristics. The CGS Hawk has a wide-track landing gear that, coupled with a low center of gravity and steerable nose or tail wheel, allows excellent ground handling in crosswind conditions. The CGS Hawk meets FAA Part 103-7 for ultralights. All CGS Hawks can be licensed in the Experimental and Homebuilt category and can be issued an &#8220;N&#8221; number and Airworthiness Certificate by the FAA. This allows licensed pilots to legally log their flight time. The CGS Hawk also meets the requirements of FAR 29.191 (q), (51% rule), concerning experimental and homebuilt aircraft. CGS Aviation invested thousands of hours in engineering and testing. A complete structural analysis was performed, as well as load and fatigue testing.
