To overcome vaginismus would mean that the woman would be able to have sex.

Vaginismus can affect sexual intercourse and gynaecological examinations and even the use of tampons, and so to overcome vaginismus can have an effect on the woman's health too.

When looking to overcome vaginismus, we must realise that the closing of the vagina is involuntary, it is often due to a learned response to pain.

Woman with vaginismus can get caught in a 'catch 22' situation, for they subconsciously expect, or fear pain, and for them, the muscles can tighten up. If penetration is then attempted, it can be painful simply because the muscles are tight, so to overcome vaginismus, we must do something about this 'cycle'.

Overcome Primary Vaginismus

Primary vaginism and vaginismus are the names given to the condition when the woman has never been able to have sexual intercourse.

Primary vaginism and vaginismus is often discovered in the teenage years, and when the girl tries to use tampons, or goes for an internal examination and finds it to be extremely uncomfortable and / or painful.

Overcome Secondary Vaginismus

Secondary vaginism and vaginismus is the name given to the condition where the woman has been able to achieve penetration in the past, but for some reason develops vaginismus after some time.

To overcome vaginismus is often easier for secondary vaginismus than it is for primary vaginismus, simply because the woman is aware that penetration without pain is possible.

What can I do if I suffer from vaginismus?

The first thing to do, is understand that vaginismus is no longer these days something you've just got to 'live with'... by using the technique or therapy that's right for you, you can overcome it very successfully.

So how do you know which is the right technique or therapy for you? Well, we feel that for something like vaginismus, there's simply nothing better than sitting down with a therapist, having a good, informal, friendly chat with them about how vaginismus affects you, and then hearing about the options available.

Having a chat with a therapist is free of charge, and there's no obligation, so you've really got nothing to lose. Having grown up, for example, in an environment where sex was seen as 'dirty', or where sexuality was often suppressed or used to induce guilt

Depression – Someone suffering from depression can experience impotence when they are feeling depressed

Relationship Problems – Trying to maintain a sex life with a partner which whom there are problems in the relationship as a whole can bring on impotence in the man

Lack of Self Confidence – If a man isn't confident in his sexual performance, he may worry about how it is going to be, and this can cause impotence

Low Self-Worth – A man may experience impotence if he has a low self worth, and feels he isn't worthy of being in a sexual relationship with his partner

Tiredness – For example, a man who works a lot of hours can experience impotence due to exhaustion

What can I do if I suffer from impotence?

The first thing to do, is understand that impotence is no longer these days something you've just got to 'live with'... by using the technique or therapy that's right for you, you can overcome it very successfully.

So how do you know which is the right technique or therapy for you? Well, we feel that for something like impotence, there's simply nothing better than sitting down with a therapist, having a good, informal, friendly chat with them about how impotence affects you, and then hearing about the options available.

Having a chat with a therapist is free of charge, and there's no obligation, so you've really got nothing to lose. feel comfortable about committing to a relationship in the long term, than it is to force him to commit against his wishes.

Often, making a man commit is more about making him Australia for example.

The commitment phobic 'knows' that the chances of that person giving up everything to travel half way around the world to be with them is Vaginismus can be helped very successfully.

Woman with vaginismus can get caught in a 'catch 22' situation. They subconsciously expect, or fear pain, and the muscles tighten up. If penetration is then attempted, it can be painful simply because the muscles are tight. What happens then, is that the pain then subconsciously re-inforces the fear, tells the subconscious that it was right to fear the pain, and it can cause an even stronger response the next time.

To read more about how hypnotherapy can help you with vaginismus, or to have a free chat with a hypnotherapist, go to http://www.avonhypnotherapy.co.uk/vaginismus.htm?avonblog

Article by Denise Douglass,
Trainer, therapist, and co-author and editor of Paul Douglass LifeShaping
http://www.lifeshaping.co.uk

Hypnotherapy for Vaginismus

Hypnotherapy for Vaginismus: What is Available for Vaginismus?

Article by Denise Douglass

Vaginismus is a term for a condition in which an attempt to insert something into a woman's vagina causes the muscles surrounding the vagina to tighten, and to clamp shut, making penetration painful for the woman, and frustrating for her partner.

Vaginismus can affect sexual intercourse and gynaecological examinations and even the use of tampons.

Vaginismus is involuntary for the woman, and can be compared to any other reflex action where the body closes up as a reflex.

For vaginismus, although the closing of the vagina is involuntary, it is often due to a learned response to pain, and the woman expects pain, and remembers previous painful experiences, or simply imagines that penetration will be painful, and the vaginismus reflex occurs, but treatment for vaginismus can be very successful for vaginismus.

Woman with vaginismus can get caught in a 'catch 22' situation, for they subconsciously expect, or fear pain, and for them, the muscles can tighten up. If someone's partner lasts for over an hour, but they are happy to orgasm (ejaculate) within ten minutes, then that shouldn't be considered as Premature Ejaculation (PE), simply because in this case, the man is happy with his sexual performance, and is satisfied by the sex.

What can I do if I suffer from premature ejaculation?

The first thing to do, is understand that premature ejaculation is no longer these days something you've just got to 'live with'... by using the technique or therapy that's right for you, you can overcome it very successfully.

So how do you know which is the right technique or therapy for you? My views, opinions and feelings have completely changed.

Along the line, my fear of seeing others being sick and the fear of being sick myself somehow disappeared and I would have never believed before that this could be cured. I was so happy that your magic had worked that I actually enjoyed watching it. Spooky!

I really did enjoy the sessions -- with both of you -- they were good fun and you made me laugh so many times -- and they were definitely the most interesting thing I have experienced in my life so far.

I will never forget you and what you did for me - Thank you so, so much!

All the best, take care and see you soon,

Kerstin"

(name used with permission)

can hypnosis help?

Answer:

People often look at hypnosis out of desperation, so that's something I've come across quite a few time over the years… it sometimes has the 'aura' of being something that can magically 'hypnotise people out of' their problems.

In reality of course, the term 'hypnotherapy' covers a lot of different disciplines, that also happen to use 'hypnosis'. Some issues that can be described as 'habitual' (stopping smoking, some weight issues, nail biting, and things like that), can be improved by 'traditional' hypnotherapy, but for something a bit 'deeper', often needs a little more.

Commitment phobia is usually more than just a habit. It's usually more to do with getting into a 'cycle' of 'thinking' and 'coping' (where someone feels uncomfortable, does something to cope with the feelings that are there, and feel better temporarily, but don't do anything to actually break the cycle).

For something like commitment phobia, what I usually use to help people, are a combination of techniques that can help them to recognise those cycles (which they're often unaware of), and then break those cycles.

So in essence, I do think it's important to 'understand' why commitment phobia is there (which needn't necessarily be that hard… I usually get people to answer a series of questions that can show them how and why the commitment phobia is happening), which in turn can help them to know what they need to do to change it.

 I hope that helps?

You can read more about the techniques to overcome commitment phobia at http://www.avonhypnotherapy.co.uk/help_with/phobias/commitment_phobia/commitment_phobia_index.htm

Cheers

Paul

One of the main problems with 'cyclic' problems like emetophobia, is that if they can start to spiral out of control. This can happen easily when someone tries to 'cope' with the problem, rather than trying to do something about the 'cycle' itself.

There are some really good techniques that you can use to overcome emetophobia... some you can do as a 'self-help' programme, and some that you can do with someone (a therapist for example). Sometimes though, the best option can be to do something that's flexible (so for example, you can do it as a self-help programme, but have the additional one-to-one help on 'standby' as and when you need it).

If you are having panic attacks, then you'll be able to see those 'out of control' feelings in action, and so doing something to get things back under control could really help you.<br style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); or 'cycle' (the same thoughts and behaviours happen time and time again). You may have recognised this sort of thing going on for your partner.

When that happens, the commitment phobic person themselves, as well as the people around them (especially their partners), can feel 'helpless'. The best way around this is to do something that can help them to break those 'cycles'.

There are a few techniques that can really help with this... two of them in particular are called the 'Divergence Point' and the 'Unhelpful Thinking Spectrum' - They're both really good techniques that can help someone to break those cycles. When they do, they often say they feel a huge sense of 'relief' and far more in control.

Both of those techniques come from something called the LifeShaping process (http://www.lifeshaping.co.uk) - it's something that can be done as a 'self-help' type of programme, or there's lots of help and support available if needed. (there's a free members forum, and there's optional additional one-to-one help available via Skype if someone feels like they need a little bit more help).

What I'd suggest, is that you or your partner try that as a self-help programme at first (and use the help and support that's available free on the forum), and then if you or your partner feel at any point that a little bit of extra help would be useful, that's always an option.

I hope that helps? Thanks again for getting in touch... I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care
Paul

Commitment Phobia Question: How do I deal with relationship problems?

One of the most common questions about commitment phobia, commitment issues and relationship issues is 'How do I deal with relationship problems?'.

If you want to deal with relationship problems in yourself, then there are some really good ways that you can deal with those relationship problems, primarily by understanding how relationship problems are affecting you, and why those relationship problems are there, and then putting some things in place to deal with those relationship problems for yourself.

If you want to deal with relationship problems in someone else, it's often best if the person with relationship problems wants to overcome those relationship problems for themselves.

Fortunately, whichever of these is most appropriate for you, there are some very good ways for you (or them) to understand how they can deal with their relationship problems.

To read more about how hypnotherapy can help you or your partner with commitment phobia, or to have
