Sau notebookuri, depinde cum îţi place să le spui. Unii şi le cumpără pentru că au cu adevărat nevoie de ele. Alţii doar pentru că aşa e trend-ul . Acum la modă e ca în orice emisiune TV, talkshow, ştiri sau de sport, prezentatorul sau realizatorul să aibă cu el şi un notebook. Nu ştiu cât îl foloseşte, dar dă bine ca element decorativ.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Însă laptopul nu a fost întotdeauna aşa portabil şi performant cum este acum. Ba chiar primele versiuni erau atât de grele şi de mari, încât puteau fi transportate cu mare dificultate. Aceasta este ironia tehnologiei: ne aduce avantaje la care nici nu ne-am fi gândit, pentru ca noi să râdem când privim în urmă la primele prototipuri.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt; Primul concept &lt;/strong&gt;care s-a apropiat de ceea ce avea să devină laptopul pe care îl cunoaştem azi a fost &lt;strong&gt;Dynabook&lt;/strong&gt;. Conceput de Alan Kay şi dezvoltat de Xerox PARC la începutul anilor &#39;70, Dynabook a constituit baza de plecare a laptopurilor.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Un deceniu mai târziu şi-a făcut apariţia primul model comercial. Lansat în &lt;strong&gt;1981&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Osborne 1&lt;/strong&gt; avea la bază sistemul de operare CP/M şi era mult mai mare şi mai greu decât laptopurile moderne. Din poză, se poate observa că ecranul CRT de care beneficia era minuscul. În ciuda dimensiunilor şi a greutăţii mari, Osborne 1 a avut un impact major asupra industriei, fiind &lt;strong&gt;primul computer pe care oamenii îl puteau lua cu ei&lt;/strong&gt;. Acesta &lt;strong&gt;se alimenta cu baterii reîncărcabile&lt;/strong&gt; nickel-cadmium şi dispunea de o tastatură cu numai 84 de taste. HX-20 avea un LCD mic, cu rezoluţie de numai 120 X 32 pixeli, 4 linii de text şi maxim 20 de caractere pe o linie.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Primul mare succes comercial din perioada de început a laptopurilor l-a constituit &lt;strong&gt;Kyocera Kyotronic 85&lt;/strong&gt;, vândut la început numai în Japonia. Din portofoliul software al lui Kyocera Kyotronic 85 făceau parte un interpretator BASIC şi un editor de text (furnizate de tânăra pe atunci companie Microsoft), despre care legenda spune că însuşi &lt;strong&gt;Bill Gates &lt;/strong&gt;ar fi pus umărul la scrierea codului. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; Spre sfârşitul anilor &#39;80 laptopurile erau deja populare în rândul clienţilor de business. Marea problemă la acea vreme era că prin reducerea inevitabilă a dimensiunilor, se limita şi funcţionalitatea produselor. Acesta a fost şi cazul modelului &lt;strong&gt;NEC UltraLite &lt;/strong&gt;care cântărea numai &lt;strong&gt;2 Kg&lt;/strong&gt; dar stoca informaţiile pe dischetă. Windows 95 a avut meritul de a crea un &lt;strong&gt;standard comun&lt;/strong&gt;, însă producătorii s-au plâns că, în acest fel, nu mai pot inova şi dezvolta noi tehnologii care să îmbunătăţească viaţa bateriei. Tot Windows 95 este răspunzător de trecerea laptopurilor pe procesoare &lt;strong&gt;Intel Pentium &lt;/strong&gt;şi adoptarea &lt;strong&gt;unităţilor optice&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; Anii &#39;90 au însemnat creşterea popularităţii laptopurilor şi totodată scăderea treptată a preţurilor. Ultimul deceniu al celui de-al doilea mileniu a adus o serie de tehnologii ca &lt;strong&gt;senzorii de citire a amprentelor&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;îmbunătăţirea funcţiilor de conectivitate şi stocare a datelor&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;calitatea superioară a ecranelor&lt;/strong&gt; pe cristale lichide, &lt;strong&gt;baterii cu durată de viaţă mai mare&lt;/strong&gt; şi &lt;strong&gt;procesoare economice&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Nu greşim dacă spunem că ultimii ani vor fi &lt;strong&gt;reprezentativi &lt;/strong&gt;pentru istoria laptopurilor. Nu putem vorbi de o &lt;strong&gt;revoluţie&lt;/strong&gt;, dar pot fi menţionate anumite &lt;strong&gt;dotări &lt;/strong&gt;care au schimbat perspectiva asupra portabilelor. Dacă adăugăm la aceasta faptul că&lt;strong&gt; vânzările de portabile&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;au depăşit vânzările de sisteme desktop&lt;/strong&gt; la nivel global, avem într-adevăr de-a face cu un moment &lt;strong&gt;important &lt;/strong&gt;în istoria laptopurilor.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Controversatul &lt;strong&gt;MacBook Air&lt;/strong&gt; poate fi considerat un punct de referinţă pentru calculatoarele portabile. Mulţi poate îşi vor aminti de el ca fiind &lt;strong&gt;„laptopul care a încăput într-un plic”&lt;/strong&gt;. Ei bine, &lt;strong&gt;Nokia &lt;/strong&gt;a produs echipamente de comunicaţii&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;comerciale şi militare încă din anii ’60, însă &lt;strong&gt;primul lor &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;telefon GSM &lt;/strong&gt;(&lt;strong&gt;Nokia 1011&lt;/strong&gt;) a fost lansat după nouă ani de la apariţia lui DynaTAC, &lt;strong&gt;în 1992&lt;/strong&gt;. Despre Nokia 1011 se ştie că avea nişte &lt;strong&gt;dimensiuni agreabile &lt;/strong&gt;(195x60x45 mm) spre deosebire de cărămizile Motorola.
