In Oregon, public officials would rather kill a patient instead of give them health care.

Physician-assisted suicide has been a recent problem in Oregon. Pretty soon, it might be a bigger threat in Arizona. In each legislative session for the past few years, a new bill has been introduced to legalize physician-assisted suicide in Arizona. Why haven't you heard about it? Because pro-life legislators wouldn't allow the bill to pass through committee hearings.

When we vote this year, will we vote for candidates that support physician-assisted suicide?

Physician-assisted suicide is a real threat in this country and in our state. And it is one more reason to be an informed voter.

I am perplexed by this story. A so-called "pregnant man" gave birth to a baby named Susan recently, and is now showing Susan to the world.

The story is more about the mother, but let's take a different angle:

Who is the baby? Her name is Susan. Is Susan a daughter or a son? Susan is a daughter. Is Susan male or female? Susan is a female.

So is gender something fixed or is it something that can just change arbitrarily over time?

If we can decide to change gender (as this mom wants us to believe she is now a man), then can we really call Susan a baby girl? Shouldn't she just be labeled as a child of her parents, not a daughter?

Shouldn't Susan be able to choose, once she is old enough, what gender she wants to be?

If gender is what we choose to be for ourselves, why is Susan's mom trying to label Susan as a daughter and a baby girl?

Perhaps it is because gender and itentity are not things that we can change. We can try to move around body parts or take enough hormones to change our outlook on life, but it is just ignoring the truth: our own gender is not something we have choice over.

Why is Planned Parenthood in South Dakota closing their doors? This is a prime example why laws help limit abortions. Before performing abortions in South Dakota, doctors must now inform patients that the procedure will be ending the life of a human being.

Do we really need a law that tells us abortions will kill human beings?

Sadly, many Americans have bought into the lie that we can justify killing a fetus because it is smaller, is dependant upon a mother, or doesn't have the ability to survive on its own. We have forgotten what we learned in junior high science class: that a fetus is a seperate and individual human being.

When a woman hears that a human being will be killed, will that stop her from receiving an abortion? I certainly hope so.

But will a doctor's heart change when he has to tell a woman that he's killing her baby? I would like to think so, but I doubt it. These are doctors with 8-12 years in medical training; they are scientific experts compared to the rest of society. If anyone knows the truth about what abortion really does and what a fetus really is, it is these doctors. Recently, William Harrison, a doctor who has performed over 20,000 abortions, admitted to saying that "abortion cancels souls." And these doctors continue to make a living by killing human beings, while calling it "family planning" or "women's health."

Perhaps Planned Parenthood South Dakota will re-open sometime soon (or are already open again today), and continue to perform abortions. But just because they now inform women of the truth, Planned Parenthood and other abortion doctors have known all along what they are doing: killing human beings and trying to justify their actions while they do so.
