Bremen Castings One of the Fastest Growing Companies in the US

Bremen Castings Named by Inc. Magazine as one of Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S.

Bremen, IN - With 67% growth over the last three years, Bremen Castings was named as one of Inc. Magazine’s 5,000 fastest growing companies in the U.S. The company was ranked 4,017 up from it’s 2012 ranking of 4570. The ranking puts the company at number 59 out of the 69 Indiana companies making this year’s list.

The Inc. 5000 list ranks companies based upon revenue growth from 2009 to 2012. In 2009, Bremen Castings had $30.9 million in revenue and by 2012 revenue had increased to $51.5 million. Over the same period, the company had added 75 employees which brought their employment numbers to 256 by the end of 2012.

Breman Castings operates a foundry and CNC machine shop that fabricates recycled metal products. Its products include items for the agricultural market, lawn and garden industry, and the heavy truck manufacturing market. It uses a large percentage of recycled scrap metal that is molded and machined in-house.

Bremen Police Department Memorial Service

The Bremen Police Department would like to invite the community to a Memorial Service on Tuesday May 14, 2013 2:00 p.m. at the Bremen Police Department in cooperation with National Police Officer Memorial Week. Light refreshments will be provided.

National Police Officer Memorial Week is May 12th through May 18th. It was created to honor fallen law enforcement officers through out the United States. Last year approximately 120 federal, state and local law enforcement officers gave the supreme sacrifice and were killed in the line of duty, two officers were from Indiana. On average 140-160 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty every year. The number of police officers killed on the job skyrocketed 40% in 2010 and 24% in 2011. The fatality rate for police officers per 100,000 is 18. To date this year there have been 39 police officers killed in the line of duty.

Please join us on May 14th for our Memorial Service and take a moment this week to remember all police officers and pay honor to the law enforcement officers who were killed or injured in the line of duty while serving their communities.

Indiana Public Schools and The PPACA Employer Penalties Information Session !!!!!!

Bremen Public Schools will be hosting the following session on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. in the Lion’s Den at the high school.

Presentation by W. James Hamilton from Bose McKinney & Evans LLP on Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act – The Sledgehammer, The Mallet and The 29 Hours-a-Week Dance. This is the same or similar presentation that Jim did at the Education Law Seminar: The Only Constant is Change in Indianapolis at the Marriott East on Tuesday, March 5, 2013.

This session is designed for School Board Members, Superintendents, School Administrators, Athletic Directors, and the Teacher Association in your school district. They need to hear this message!!

The deadlines for requirements of the Affordable Care Act are fast approaching and many school corporations are finding themselves with numerous questions and a realization that as new information surfaces about the requirements they may be affected. The “Look Back” period has a date of January 1, 2014 so a school corporation needs to be compliant by July 1, 2013. So bring your group and learn what the IRS has done to school corporations and the potential penalties.

Aspects that will be presented are as follows:

-PPACA: Countdown to 2014

-Employer Penalties: The Large Employer Test

-The Bomb That Changed Everything

-The Sledgehammer

-Eligibility for Exchange Subsidy

“A Clean House for a Sweetheart” 2013 Contest

Walkerton, January 1 – To reward one special Michiana resident with a clean house, CleanRite Cleaning Services (www.cleanritecleaning.com) is launching “A Clean House for a Sweetheart” 2013

Poetry Contest. Dawn Gorby-Verhaeghe, owner of CleanRite, wishes to reward one lucky person with a special Valentine, a free initial house or apartment cleaning. The prize for the best original love poem will be awarded in conjunction with Valentine’s Day, allowing the winner the time to spend with loved ones while his/her house or apartment is professionally cleaned.

Previous winners have included a high school student, who wrote a poem in honor of her grandmother as she was undergoing cancer treatment, an elementary student, who wrote a poem to her mother, and a man who wrote “A Confession of Love” to his wife after over 50 years of marriage. All of the honorees enjoyed a clean home and some extra quality time with family and friends on Valentine’s Day. Dawn Gorby-Verhaeghe will announce the winner in early February, and the winner will receive one free initial house cleaning prior to Valentine’s Day. A panel of judges, CleanRite employees who clean homes across the Michiana area, will determine the winner.

“A Clean House for a Sweetheart” 2012 Poetry Contest runs January 1, 2012 through February 1, 2012; the winner will be announced before Valentine’s Day. The prize includes dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing furniture and cabinets, cleaning ceiling fans/fixtures, and more. To enter, write an original love poem of any length to a loved one. Please include your name and phone number, as well as your loved one’s name, address, and phone number. Entries may be mailed to CleanRite Cleaning Services, Inc., P. O. Christmas Baskets

Project HELP is updating the Christmas food box list. If you are a resident of Bremen/German Township and you would like to receive a gift of a nice Christmas Dinner for your famliy, PLEASE stop of the Town Hall/Chamber and pick up a form to fill out and send back in.

All forms should be signed and mailed to Project HELP, PO BOX 1981, Bremen, IN 46506 by DECEMBER 3, 2012. Also, a box will be provided in the Town Hall to collect your forms. You may call 574-546-4823, 546-3821 or 546-2630 for information.

FOOD BOXES WILL BE DELIVERED ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15TH BETWEEN 9 A.M. AND NOON.

You must be home or arrange to have someone there to accept the box.
