Since I’ve been out and about again, I’ve been on the hunt for vintage pieces to add to my maternity wardrobe. Pieces that will work now.. and later.

While out searching I found this silky tunic! I fell in love with the sleeves, and the side slits will make it easy to wear from small bump to big bump.

The first of the bump! It’s more like a thick middle right now.. but it’s there.

I’m patting myself on the back.. I’ve kept every vintage dress that seemed perfect for my maternity days.. and now I’m finally putting them to use! So far, I’ve been wearing dresses a lot.. and vintage is where it’s at.

Expect loads of flowing, free vintage goodness in the days to come.

Two pics of maybe two times I actually got out of my pjs during the last few weeks. Though my non-pjs kinda looked like pjs. The peace sign? I don’t know.. just trying to find some peace during the rough days.

So here we go.. I’m back from a grueling, gross, not fun, seemed never ending.. first trimester. This week officially launches my last week of the “hell-mester”, and I think I’m on my way to the “honeymoon-or-glow-mester”.

Like this title says, this is all about the truth and nothing but the truth.

First, let me say that I’m very excited about this new phase and new purpose in life. I feel very blessed to even be able to bring a child into this world, and I pray that I can be the best mom possible. Brian and I are ready to take our teamwork to a whole new level and tackle all the craziness that comes with parenthood.

Now that I’ve expressed my joy.. let me get real. For me… pregnancy is no picnic! I’m not joking when I say I didn’t leave my house for days (and I mean up to 5 or 6 days) during the worst of it. I’ve done a lot of couch time, bed time, tv time, movie time, book reading time.. and paying visits to the bathroom in between (sorry for the graphic material).

With pregnancy nausea you’d think you wouldn’t want to eat anything, but oh no.. the only thing that kept me from doing the unmentionable was eating, and I wasn’t your healthy little, “yum.. broccoli sounds good” kind of girl, I was your “that cheesy lasagna does the trick” kind of girl. Yep.. good old carbs were my best friends. And this eating thing was happening every few hours.. so it was constant. Yeah.. not pretty.

After, 12 weeks I’ve come to almost the end of it.. and let’s just say everything about my body has changed. I’ve got a cute little bump.. but I’ve got new bumps going on in places I usually don’t. It’s all kinda expanded over here. Honestly, this is tough for me.. and to be gut honest.. it’s hard to think about being a fashion blogger. My job is to take pictures of myself in the outfits I wear, and of course, I want to look and feel my best, but with pregnancy I’m definitely not feeling my best. There were days I couldn’t think about taking on B. Jones Style again, but after some time, thought and finally feeling somewhat human again I’ve decided to dive back in.

As a blogger, I want to be real with you (my fabulous readers) and sometimes being real means being willing to expose the not so pretty parts of yourself. I’m proud of my baby bump, a little freaked about the rest of my body, but I want to embrace and show that you can still make it work.. even if that means wearing a mumu and a big floppy hat. I’m learning to dress this new body and I want you to be part of that journey.. I’m sure I’ll have good and bad days.. but ultimately it’s for an amazing reason and nothing can stop me from being the best (and hopefully stylish) mom I can be.

BIG NEWS…I’m pregnant!!!

That’s right…B. Jones Style is gonna go preggers style. I’m not turning all “mommy blogger” on you, but I am going to take you along the style ride of my growing bump and the inevitable puffy face…and then I’m sure the strange after baby body phase. It is sure to be an adventure and I am excited to take the ride with you.

Now onto my current situation. As you have noticed, I have been M.I.A. lately. This growing baby is giving me a serious case of a 24/7 flu. For the last three weeks I’ve been on the couch in pj’s, matted hair, and bowl in hand. So no style in sight. I am definitely not doing the cute pregnant thing just yet. The doctor says this is a good sign but I’ve got a few more weeks to go. So things here are going to have to remain on pause for a little while longer.

Thanks for your patience while I get through the first trimester. I am hoping for what they call the “honeymoon phase” or “the pregnancy glow” to kick in pretty soon so that I can be back in B. Jones Style action.

I’d love to hear any tips from the moms out there as I approach this new, amazing phase of life. Brian, Dudley, and I can’t wait for our new arrival in November.

Sorry for the long absence, I’ve been a sick little girl over here… but now I’m back. Sorry about that!

Starting up again with my next Bib & Tuck piece.. the HOWL necklace. It inspired a kinda bohemian-peruvian look for dinner with friends. Probably the last of a layered up look.. since the weather is finally turning consistently warm… but happy to have my last layered up hurrah!

One of the best times in life is dinner with friends. I love sitting around as the meal gets prepared, nibbling on appetizers and getting caught up on the latest news. Sitting around a dinner table encourages time and conversation fully focused on the people you love. No distractions.. just good food, friends and laughter.

Recently, we were able to grab this moment with our friends Sean and Sara (you may remember their wedding from last summer). They are both amazing and creative people and I thought I share a little of our evening together.

Sara is a master in the kitchen and whips up scrumptious dishes on a regular basis… she’s always getting me hooked on her latest creation.

I love their home and I adore their fireplace that greets you in the living room.

Sean is an artist and craftsman.. every cool fixture in their house was made with his own hands.. good man to have around.

Maybe my favorite.. the wood wall and shelf that Sean built for their bedroom.

It was mexican for dinner and Sara had us coming back for seconds and thirds with the Chilaquiles Casserole. Her tips:

My closet is overflowing with special dresses.. the one’s that get worn to fancy dinners, weddings, special occasions.. but my closet doesn’t have enough everyday-everyway dresses. So I’ve been on a mission to find dresses that I can live in.

Finally, I stumbled on this one and it’s perfect. While the weather is still chilly I styled it up with leather and socks-n-sandals, but I can’t wait to wear it when it’s warm.. everyday and everyway.

Fashion is fun.. and to me this outfit was all about fun!

I’m craving the spring explosion, but our weather hasn’t been consistent enough.. but I went ahead and added some of the spring staples and played with florals, hawaiian prints and bright colors.

With big and bold hair.. I went simple and easy with denim on denim for dinner out with the hubs!
