It’s a running theme.. last fall I was inspired by the eccentric lady.. and it looks like spring is a bit of the same. This one might be a little more sophisticated.. less layers, sharp and pulled together and pretty hair and makeup.

Can’t wait to prance the streets all lady-like.

With rain and cold, this girl has to take full advantage. I pull out the long coats, throw on some vintage fur and get very excited about embracing winter. It doesn’t last long.. so I’ve got to grab it when I can.

Underneath my winter layers, I’m looking to spring.. scarf print blouses and full-flouncy skirts. I loved the colors in this blouse and popped some more pink throughout.. a pink tasseled bracelet and a pink pout.

Really not much fuss, just a tee.. blazer.. trousers and pointy pumps. My idea of an easy-carefree day.

Just to toss in a little sumpin-sumpin I tied a hair flower around my wrist.. very Carrie B. A whimsical corsage for a simple day.

I’ve been experimenting lately with layering outerwear… leather over denim last week and now fur over denim.

It’s kinda fun to throw on that extra layer.

Thanks to Mad Men and Pan Am, television has been inspiring fashion to return to the lady-like dressing of the 60′s, and I can’t say I have any complaints.

So for the weekend, I pulled on some high waist jeans.. but gave it a classic lady-like spin.

With a quirky mix of prints and layers this look felt inspired by the resort collections.. so I thought why not embrace the theme and take it poolside.

I always love the resort collections… bright, bold, quirky and sometimes kooky.. very me!

I loved the bold black-n-white mix and the body-con fit of the dress, and to make it day ready and kinda urban chic I started layering up pieces like a mad-woman. A turtleneck, two jackets, three tiers of neckaces, tights, boots and I was good to go.

When it turns chilly and the clouds roll in .. nothing’s better than grabbing a cup of jo and meandering the streets with a trench and scarf to keep you warm.

So that’s exactly what I did.

I’ve been loving the return of the ball cap, and after searching for just the right one.. I finally found it on the racks of a thrift store.

A ball cap doesn’t just mean casual anymore, it can be dressed up with a skirt, boots and a bright pop of color. For a little fun, I stopped over at the local high school to snaps some pics.. feeling very nostalgic for the lunch table and staircase conversations.

A strangely warm and sultry day hit us here in Cali, and while the weather felt balmy I decided to embrace it and have some fun.

I love playing with clothes, and this was no exception.. I wanted a slit so I used this skirt and pulled it up to show off a little pop of color.. then threw on a slouchy-oversized sweater.

It was a summery-winter day… no complaints here.
