A newspaper editor, Shrivastav, is killed when he was about to expose the underworld links of a very rich and influential person. C.I.D. Inspector Shekhar is assigned to this case, an investigation of which leads him to suspect Dharamdas and his men. But Dharamdas spins a web of lies and deceit, and Shekhar himself becomes a suspect, and is arrested by the police, and loses his job, leaving Dharamdas and his men to carry on undeterred. It opens like one of Fritz Lang’s best Noirs from his American days.

Brilliant photography, sharp editing, lively performances. The film’s score too suits its Noirish tone especially where it is not too eleborate.

Chase/escape sequence is coolly done. One should watch out for the Number 13, which more often than not proves to be lucky number for Noirs. In a very Noirish way.

And then there are some truly amazing shots, magical moves, which make following this long musical-noir-thriller-potboiler plot very worthwhile.

The songs, were and still are enchanting, the
acting, the story and the acting was excellent. The direction was also
the same. The movie, which had been filmed in the town of Simla, in the
foothold of the Himalayas, northern India, has some brilliant cinema
photography and especially where the song "Mera Tumse Hai Pehle" with
the playback by the late Kishore Kumar is filmed.

Rohan Khanna leaves India hoping for a better life in America. . Complete waste of time and some of the scenes were typical bollywood crap. Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya are great actors. I’ve seen them in Taal, and they were so great. But this movie just had no story built in. Only thing watchable was Jaspal Bhatti and Kader Khan. Aishwarya did her part well and so did Akshaye Khanna. But there was no story. Too many stereotypes. Travelling for 18 hours in a suit and tie?? Give me a
break. Some things were really immature.
