Google Analytics problem in Chrome browser

I have recently switched to Chrome from Firefox and I noticed that there was a slight problem with viewing my Google Analytics account.

When I was on my dashboard, the graph at the top was not visible, but the other graphs etc were there such as sparklines etc.

To get around this problem, simply head over to the Adobe site and install the latest version of Flash.

That did the trick for me anyway. Has anyone else noticed this bug?

Google Chrome – is it as good as Firefox?

I have recently installed the Google Chrome browser. Up until now I have used Firefox as my primary web browser, but I’m starting to sway towards Chrome.

I’m using the beta version that lets you synchronise bookmarks etc and I have to say I’m impressed so far. The speed seems faster (page loads etc) than Firefox and it doesn’t seem to use quite as much RAM in task manager (I’m on Windows).

Extensions I’ve installed so far:

IE Tab
Google Reader
Firebug
SEO
Pagerank

One I do miss that I use all the time in Firefox is the Web Developer plugin. I’m not sure if Chrome has this plugin yet but I’m hoping someone will create it soon.

What other plugins do you use in Chrome and do you think it is better than Firefox?

Over the past few months we’ve been busy developing a new CRM/CMS solution that will eventually replace our current CRM application.

They system will have all the standard features like:

Invoicing
Task Management
Timesheets
etc

but…with a nice addition. We are also working on a new module that will allow you to manage your website directly from within your account. This is not yet finished but we will be releasing that in the near future too.

We are now ready to start accepting “beta testers” to help us spot and iron out any bugs etc.

A year ago, we got a referral for a full e-commerce website, as well as SEO campaign. We completed the website to the client’s specifications and commenced with the Search Engine Optimisation campaign.

I’d just like to share the results, one year on.

Before

In the month of November 2008, the visitor statistics looked like this:

417 visits
192 unique visitors
6361 pageviews

After

In the month of October 2009, the visitor statistics looked like this:

2301 visits
1549 unique visitors
8876 pageviews

Sessions not persisting between http and https

I came across this problem recently on a new Windows 2008 / IIS 7 server using classic ASP.

We have a client website that uses sessions for authentication but if you authenticated and then switched from http to https or vice versa the session seemed to drop.

After a while searching the ‘net and a bit of head scratching I found the answer.

Under IIS manager, click on your server name in the left panel and then double click on the ASP link from the middle panel. Open the “Session Properties” section and set “New ID on Secure Connection” to FALSE. Click apply in the top right panel and you’re good to go.

No more dropped sessions switching between http and https!

North West Wedding is a wedding portal dedicated to wedding services and venues based in the North West of England. We created the system from the ground up except for the Forum section which we used a 3rd party app for.
