Drinking Game Participants Final BAC Estimate:

Beer – .02
Wine – .04
Shots – .14

Note: This is a non-scientific estimate and shouldn’t be used as a goal.

1:25 David shows off how prepared he is for the upcoming shows.
3:15 Darren fails to impress with his movie re-watching ability.
3:40 Tony used to disagree with everyone.
4:15 David thinks it’s the third greatest.
5:55 David drops the F-bomb! Then forgets his next point.
6:10 Actor reviews.
6:12 Brad Pitt elicits another F-bomb from David.
6:50 Edward Norton also elicits an F-bomb.
7:05 Death to Smoochy was a great movie, Tony.
12:20 We start talking about spoiling the movie.
13:00 We’re still talking about spoiling the movie.
13:30 We’re still talking about spoiling the movie.
14:00 We’re still talking about spoiling the movie.
14:30 We’re still talking about spoiling the movie.
59:40 “Jack’s sense of having nothing to add to this conversation.”
1:08:00 The Marla conspiracy gathers steams.
1:10:00 Watchmen is discussed in relation to Fight Club.
1:11:00 Timeliness is discussed.
1:13:00 You’re special, just like everyone else.
1:13:50 Tony disagrees about fulfillment.
1:16:00 Chris edited part of it out.
1:18:00 The griping about the jobs is done.
1:19:00 Marla is proven to be really, because we don’t see Edward Norton whacking it.
1:20:00 That’s it!

(Thanks, Stingray02!)

Wolverines!!!!

Hosts & Drinks for this episode:
Tony – the remnants of a bottle of Maker’s Mark (FROM THE BOTTLE)
Chris – Pepsi Max
Darrell –

Drinks: |||F|||||

1:15 Epic nipple.
2:00 Business: Contest on the website; two episodes in the can; Chris jacked up an episode; do our work for us using Google Wave.
5:25 Darrell puts it out into the world.
5:50 That’s a terrible segue, man.
6:00 High level thoughts.
7:00 Ooooo! Navy Seals!
8:30 Subtelty? We don’ need no stinkin’ subtlety!
10:00 Darrell mixes it up by being the one to disagree with the rest of the hosts.
12:10 Rundown of the actors, starting with Patrick Swayze.
16:15 G.I. Joe (the 80’s cartoon version) is held up as better than parts of this movie.
16:45 Chris and Tony have different ideas about what qualifies a spider as “giant.”
17:00 Moving on to Emilio Estevez’s brother.
19:10 The DM says, “Take a drink!”
20:00 The hosts veer drunkenly into plot synopsis.
24:05 Chat room corrects the hosts.
29:15 That teacher in the front of the classroom over there says that Ghengis Khan ruled the Mongols….
30:15 It is implied that David would have nothing to contribute to this conversation.
30:25 Chris’s sister doesn’t get Top Gun.
33:55 The older generation just doesn’t understand us.
39:10 “When you’re older, you’ll know it works.”
40:10 The movie is a series of TUBES! I mean, vignettes.
41:00 Babysitting techniques in the 80’s: not so smart.
45:30 Tony does some Fan Boy Smack Down reminiscing. 5!
45:50 Darrell may or may not have briefly swallowed the microphone at this point.
47:30 Tony uses the night’s movie to talk about Star Wars.
50:00 Chris gets really, really worked up.
53:00 Chris fears Sarah. As should you.
54:30 Suck grenade, douchenozzle!
56:20 Egg Shen almost shows up.
58:00 Keeps me warm.
1:01:45 Anything can be converted into a locator device.
1:02:30 Chris blames the French. Tony blames Gaius Baltar.
1:08:00 Tony kills the whiskey. Keeps him warm.
1:10:15 Feminism doesn’t apply to teenagers; thus, Twilight.
1:13:20 Chris has a dirty mind–can’t accept a platonic relationship.
1:15:50 Tony has controlled his drunkenness very well through this episode. At this point, all control is gone.
1:16:10 The lines between reality and fiction get blurred.
1:17:15 The creepiness overwhelms Chris.
1:18:15 Chris summarizes the big, dramatic, soul-searching character moment: Blah, blah.
1:20:40 He looks at his hands. HE LOOKS AT HIS HANDS!
1:25:00 Chris has motivation to swallow the mic this time.
1:26:25 Star Trek was a longer episode.
1:26:45 Darrell wants to get political. Tony wants more whiskey.
1:28:00 Chris proves himself on par with David in missing the great movies of the era.
1:32:45 Chris is weird…
1:33:05 …and a parent.
1:35:00 Chris commits to his role as David.
1:35:55 Red Dawn’s teat has been milked!

(We’ll add to the show notes as they are populated on the Wave for this episode.) If you need an invite, shoot an email to Tony.

In this episode, Tony, Adam and Sarah discuss the sci-fi horror film, Event Horizon.

(Note: There is a discussion on Google Wave which will eventually replace these show notes. If you want an invite, or if you are already on Google Wave and want in on the wave, send an email to tony@… (you know the url.)

Here is what the Wave has generated thus far:

Hosts:
Tony
David
Sarah

1:52 – Sarah pretends she’s never been a part of the chat room conversation going south.
2:05 – Weekly releases means weekly news! Welcome back, my old friend.
3:50 – Fleshlight and Knob Creek advertising. All right.
4:45 – High level thoughts. Tony disagrees with everyone else. Are we surprised?
8:15 – Sarah proves she has balls. I wouldn’t dare call him Larry Fishburne, regardless of his past.
10:45 – Sci-fi semantic wankery narrowly avoided.
12:19 – I got your resolution right here!
17:45 – David doesn’t recognize a movie reference.
20:15 – David gets cut off.
21:10 – Never split the party.
21:50 – Pneumatic doors don’t slam. Dammit.
22:20 – Don’t keep secrets from the party.
23:35 – Tony wants a movie taken in a different direction. Are we surprised?
25:19 – Sam Neill is Egg Shen. There ya go.
26:05 – Sarah actually watched the movie. At this point, we have questions about whether Tony and David did.
28:45 – The chat room talks about a much more interesting movie.
29:30 – Vaginas are serious business.
30:00 – Chris chooses to leave it in.
30:15 – Tony wants to breeze through the plot.
30:55 – Sarah forces Chris to cut an F-bomb.
31:15 – Tony describes lunch at KFC… or the monster in the movie.
32:00 – New names for the show. I approve.
32:45 – The plot actually gets described. A whole lot of arguing commences.
34:15 – Parallels are drawn to Alien.
34:40 – Sarah says “Thrust.” Twice.
35:05 – Tony forces Christ to cut an F-bomb.
35:50 – Sarah pulls out the Mom-tone on David.
36:30 – Expendable crew members are discussed.
36:55 – David doesn’t know who Denzel Washington is.
38:15 – There’s an X-wing!
38:45 – Be careful about being po-ag-nant.
39:45 – “That’s not a load-bearing structure.”
40:20 – Engineering by Jesuits.
40:30 – Tony’s annoyed distraction nets useful results.
41:30 – “That sounds like Marge Simpson.”
43:35 – The black hole belches.
44:15 – Human goo on buttressed windows.
45:20 – Filters fix everything!
46:05 – Ewwwww….
46:45 – Hardcore sneezing.
48:55 – More filters!
49:45 – The filmmakers learned nothing from Khan’s inability to think in three dimensions.
51:20 – David employs Podcasting Pro Tip #1. Sarah sidesteps.
53:15 – Is it a hole or a platform? Chris makes a poor alliance.
54:05 – Sarah forces Chris to cut an F-bomb.
54:10 – Chris switches sides.
55:40 – Super Cooper!
56:15 – Unnecessary weapon selection.
57:40 – Useless XO is useless. Tigh he is not.
58:57 – Sarah pulls off the F-bomb hat trick!
1:00:45 – “This was a poorly written episode!”
1:01:08 – David attempts to apply Podcasting Pro Tip #1 and fails.
1:02:38 – David joins in the F-bomb dropping entertainment!
1:03:10 – Sarah’s had two beers and verbs it up.
1:03:45 – David poses and scares Sarah.
1:03:55 – The joy inspired by the end of the conversation is evident in Tony’s voice.

(Follow-up Note – The episode has been fixed and can be downloaded NOW in its complete and astounding glory.)

Gong!

Adam is now David.

David botches the intro.

Phil threatens David’s colon.

High level impressions.

David makes arbitrary, “I haven’t seen Ghostbusters.” Comment.

Sarah can’t figure out how to use the chatroom.

Who else could have been Jack Burton?

Phil uses Kim Cattrall to cross the streams of Egg Shen and Yoda.

Phil condones lubing up of Kim Cattrall.

Phil calls out ‘that one white guy’ in the movie.

(Why is Phil leading the conversation?)

Phil drops some truck trivia.

And now we jump on the plot train…

David calls out Darrell as a racist.

More plot.

Is anyone else snickering whenever they say ‘Wang’?

Rule 34 is mentioned.

Kurt Russell = Will Smith

Sarah gets her nails done with dudes.

Phil owned a Fiero. Listen for it… David is getting bored.

Green Eyes = Bucket Leather Seats.

Security is probably the only thing that’s tight at the White Tiger.

David does Egg Shen. No one calls him out as racists.

David comments about the size of Wang.

Quotes from the movie and laughter.

Out of context quote:

“… Wang and Jack off…”, said David.

Phil sets the story straight… in creepy voice.

David gets upset when Phil starts quoting Egg Shen early. Not because it’s out of order, but because Phil beats him to the quote.

Communist allegory?

Oh hell, just listen an enjoy. Seriously, why are you reading this?

Egg Shen is the Asian Neville Longbottom. (This explains soooo much about David.)

Splorted?

Phil and David talk about someone who isn’t there to defend himself. And they’re wrong.

Sarah and Chris are apparently involved in some role-reversal.

David pees.

In this special episode, we abandon our regular gig of reviewing films and talk with Neil and Matt from In-Three. In-Three is a company that developed and patented a process called Dimensionalization® that makes it possible to create high quality, artifact-free 3D films from 2D films.

Come listen as discuss how this technology which was once seen as only a gimmick to give audiences a new viewing experience can be applied to the palette of tools that film-makers can use to enrich the movie going experience and draw audiences more deeply into the stories they are telling.

We also discuss the wealth of information on their website, http://in-three.com/, and at their companion blog, http://thedimensionalists.com/.

After listening, we’d love to hear from you guys. What movies would you like to see this technology applied to? Leave your comments at the website.

In this episode, Tony, Adam, Darrell, and Melina talk about Watchmen. I would supply more detailed show notes, but after 5 months of sitting on this, waiting a few more minutes is just silly.

Here you go.

Watchmen.

Oh.. and at the tail end there is a bit of discussion about the series finale of Battlestar: Galactica. Yeah, this was recorded that long ago.
