Amazing!

I was reading the book: "Improving Performance Through Statistical Thinking" -- and I found some interesting stuff that can also be applied when writing sales letters or advertisements... It was about the different learning styles of each individual which allow us to understand deeper the psychology at play for different people.

The "Feelings" Learners are motivated by the "why" of learning. The "Facts" Learners ask "what" the details are. The "Forms" Learners test the theories and are concerned of the "how." The "Futures" Learners consider the "what if" scenario.

In copywriting, it will be important to consider all these types. Keep in mind that no one is exactly one type of learner because each is a combination of all four in varying degrees.

Woke up knowing it was a wonderful day... Turned on the TV and tuned it on a mass on ABS-CBN. I was still feeling sleepy (it was Sunday after all), but I tried to keep myself awake.

Then, the Homily. The priest preached. Then I heard his words: "the secrets to success." 3 Bible Verses were given. I only got two (did I mention I was still sleepy?).

The verses: Mt 6:25, and Mt 6:33.

Anyways, simply stated, here are the secrets to success:

1.) Only serve the real master, serve your God.
2.) Don't worry, don't be anxious (Mt 6:25)
3.) Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all things shall be added unto you (Mt 6:33)

Sounds simple, right?

I think I will fail in implementing these. But I will try my best. I know everyday will be a challenge... but I will do what I can.

Having these 3 verses now, made me think how the principles in "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill will blend with these... something to really ponder here... but, as of now I will stick to the preaching of the priest.

Because, more or less, I've tried to follow the principles in Think and Grow Rich, but it seemed not to work for me. Think it's time to do something different. As they say, only fools expect different results while doing the same things over and over...

I could be wrong... but let's see.

SWS Copywriting Coaching by John Carlton

I have a dream. I dream to become a world-class copywriter.

That's why I enrolled in John Carlton's SWS Copywriting course (with coaching). John is considered one of the best copywriters out there, and he learned from the famous Gary Halbert--he was able to work with him for a long time.

In this SWS coaching program, we have online virtual classrooms handled by professional copywriters whom John got to help teach his copywriting stuff. For my case, my instructor is Kevin Dawson (http://www.financialcopywriting.com/).

Honestly, I'm working my butt off every month so that I can pay the monthly installments. I still have 5 more months to go to zero out my balance. Well, anyways, I'm learning a lot from the course already.

My SWS teacher, Kevin Dawson, knows how to motivate me to dig deep. Kevin will not tolerate mediocre submissions in the exercises done. He points out certain areas needing improvement, giving me many aha moments.

I'm happy having Kevin as my teacher in the SWS copywriting program. Kevin knows copywriting stuff--and he can teach very well.

I can't wait to finally work on copywriting jobs. I still want to do article writing (web writing), but I like to focus more on copywriting in the near future.

I'm interested in having my own successful online business. In the past, I've bought a lot of courses by Internet Gurus out there, but still I haven't made money.

Now, I'm enrolled in Terry Dean's Monthly Mentor Club. I hope to learn a lot from this guy. He seems a sincere person, and I think he is an honest guy.

Recently, I've been passionate about copywriting. This type of writing fascinates me because it gives me the opportunity to learn how to sell in print, and it requires me to study about the psychology of why people buy.

I've enrolled myself lately in the following copywriting courses:

- AWAI's Accelerated Six Figure Copywriting Course
- John Carlton's SWS Copywriting Course with Coaching

As you can see, I am more than passionate about copywriting... I am obsessed. =)

These courses doesn't come cheap, especially that of John Carlton's. But I think it will all be worth it. I want to fast-track my learning so that I can quickly apply the principles.

If not to write for others, I want to use my copywriting skills for my online business in the future.

Without passion, what do you have?

You may just be making yourself busy so that you can justify to yourself that you are going somewhere--that you are moving towards your goals. But really, do you have a goal in mind?

Appearing busy is a very good disguise. But truth be told, you are not taking steps towards your dreams. Your dreams are linked to your passion. Now, it begs the question, what is your real passion in life? What do you love to do? What makes you wake up early in the morning, and puts a smile on your face?

If we are doing what we love to do, every day is a great day!

Find that passion. If your passion pays good money, then you are one of the lucky few. But you must understand, most successful people pursued their passions: look at Jack Canfield, Bill Gates, etc.

But don't expect to make it big right away, just because you pursued your passion in life. It ain't a walk in the park either. But your edge here, is that obstacles will not stop you from achieving your goal, because you love what you are doing.

Obstacles become temporary hindrances in reaching your goal. But because you have the inherent strength in what you are pursuing, your chances of success is greater. You still need to have patience, persistence and creativeness to make this work for you.

Your passion. What is it? Think about it...

I love books. I love to read. And I can spend my whole life doing this.

I just love knowledge too much. I enjoy learning new stuff. I have always been this way ever since. If I want to learn something, i.e. a particular skill as writing, I put all my time, effort, and yes, money, to be able to master that skill.

If you can only see my room... you will see a lot of books. And you haven't even checked my ebooks as well. If I go over my expenses for the past 10 years, most of it has been invested in my personal learning.

I am who I am now because of all the things I have done in the past. And I ain't stopping...

There are lots to learn out there. And the more you know about something, every single piece of the puzzle seem to present itself...

Addicted to Freelance Web Writing

I am an engineer. But I love to write... ever since I was in grade school. In fact, I won 2nd place in a writing contest when I was in grade 5 (if I remember it right. The topic: "Quo Vadis Filipinas" (Where are you going Philippines?)

In high school, I never had problems writing formal themes, and poetry. In fact, I loved writing these.

Then came college... Writing seemed to have no place at this time, except of course when I made love letters. But I don't think these were great love letters, if they were, I would have married the girl I gave these letters to...

In 1997, I found myself working in an International Manufacturing firm. Then there were those work experiences with other companies as well. So I have experience working for both Manufacturing and Service industries.

During these times, I had been writing on the sides. But my earnings here were not consistent because I prioritized my day job. But whenever I got the chance, I do freelance writing. It was lucky of me since I was accepted as a writer by a Web Content Provider here in Cebu that served an International Market. This was actually the start of my re-discovery of my true love for writing...

Now that I re-discovered my passion for writing... the rest, as they say, is history...

Internet Marketing Fascination

We may have something in common.

I have been online for around 12 years. I remember, most especially, the year 1997. I bought the domain name: buzzminds.net (or buzzminds.com). I had no idea what to do at that time. I used Microsoft Frontpage.

At the end of it all, I realized I did not know where I was heading. So, I stopped it all together and gave up the "Internet" thing and its opportunities.

But that was not the end of my online venture. I am not sure anymore what year it was. But there was a time I bought the domain, clickmind.com. I tinkered with the website and done some designing, etc. But then again, I realized I didn't really know what was next.

So then again, I stopped my Internet venture for the second time.

And I thought, that was the end of it. Look at me now. I am here again. But I have not bought any website since there are free sites now as blogs--both from blogger and wordpress. I've used mainly blogger since it is user-friendly for me, though I know many Internet gurus prefer wordpress. And I agree that wordpress is more powerful.

I use the blogger hosting, and I just purchase the domain name. I have 2 with .com extension, and I have around 16 .info extension.

Most of my time now has been spent with my freelance writing gigs.

But at the same time, I have also been studying a lot of Internet Marketing. And now, I think is the time to see what I've learned--and whether I can implement my learnings.

I really appreciate the opportunity the Internet presents to us all. Many have indeed gone for work-at-home jobs. And I know for a fact that it can pay well, if you know what you are doing.
