Writers Block

Since I have been back from my trip from South Carolina. I seem to have hit a major road block in my writing. Not sure what to do about it. Just keep moving forward I guess. Going to read a book or something......sigh.

Worldbuilding 2.0

My "world" (that I am currently creating around my stories) seems to be coming together. At first I had a bit of an issue combining all my notes into something that made sense. It took me a little more or less than a week. Just imagine, years of notes....some good, a lot of them bad (really really bad) and some forgotten completely but still used in the final product. It took me a few hours a night (and a lot more on weekends) just going through all my ramblings.

In the beginning I felt a little overwhelmed, but one I saw it come together, it started flowing easily.
Next week....the real building begins....pray for me!

Day One of World Building.

Recently I have been in the process of writing short stories and my fantasy book. But before my Fantasy book gets written I have to build a world. I have to say I am very proud of what I have accomplished. Even though I consider this day one. I have been rounding up all my notes through the years and putting them togther to create my world. I am using MS OneNote and Word to make it come togther.

So far so good. It starting to come togther as something. We'll have to wait and see.

It's been almost a year since I last posted (10 months to be exact). My last computer died on me in November of 2010. And due to my current financial situation, I could not afford one until now...10 MONTHS later.

Bye the way, Do you want to know how much I paid for my computer?....$610.00.....

Anyway, life just happened....changing tires, Gay Days, travels, birthdays, anniversaries, cruises, funerals...etc. Obviously it wasn't all bad, I survived.

I stayed in touch with the world due to good friend donating an itouch so that I can at least keep in touch. My partner also gave me access to his computer from time to time.

Not having a computer, still crippled me someway. I was not able to write, or so I thought. I had to rethink my way of doing things. So I bought note books (like 10 notebooks...no joke) and filled them up with great stories and ideas for future projects. It also freed up my time to read...which was great ( a little more than 10 books). I got caught up on some classics and new books. I also got into reading some great "how to write" books.

I think, the best thing was dealing with a story that had been bugging me for the last 3 years is now finally fleshed out in my notebooks. I was so wrong about needing a computer to do the things....I mean you do need it to stay connected but did Shakespeare have one....I believe Stephen King writes on a typewriter still to this day.

Another great milestone....I lost 10 pounds....Yes 10 pounds...wohoo! Not a big deal to some....took me 10 months to lose it.....but it's a good start.

It's not 50% but it's really close.

Thanks to my generous bonus from work and some fanagling and money moving. I was able to pay off my student loans and 2010 taxes. As well as, 1 other bill that will be paid off in the next few weeks. 2 down...alot more to go.....geez two months left.......

The Legend of the Scarecrow

La Leyenda del Espantapajaros, is a wonderful short animated film from Spain.

I have added a short synop of the story below in case you didn't get what they were saying.

The legend of the Scarecrow, is about a lonely scarecrow, that wants nothing more than to have a friend. The scarecrow attempts to befriend the crows to no avail. One cold night a sick crow lands near him. The Scarecrow decides to nurse the crow back to health. Before the crow leaves the scarecrow, he asks why the crow's are scared of him. The crow explains that the job of the scarecrow is to not let them eat, scarecrows hurt and scare birds away. The scarecrow tells the crow that he is different...he would never do that.

That same night, he tells the owner of the farm he wants another job. The owner, frightened by the scarecrow, runs to town and warns the towns people that the devil has possessed his scarecrow. A mob of people run to the farm to destroy the scarecrow. The scarecrow takes shelter in the windmill leaving him trapped. The mob then starts to burn the windmill. The once sick scarecrow tells his friends that they must save him. That he is a kind scarecrow, but it was to late. The windmill burned to the ground.

The crows, saddened by the horrific event, take a bit of his asses and fly high in the sky to spread them all throughout the town. The scarecrow is now no longer alone, as he is flies with his friends. In memory of the scarecrow, the crows morn him by changing their feather to black.

Lets get right to it....I fuck up but I am not giving up. Its been year now since I started this blog and I can't even count the times I have fallen off the wagon. I still want to accomplish the things I want from my list. If this blog is anything but a harsh reminder of my most failed attempts and little success, then so be it. If it takes me 6 months to 60 years....Dam it I will do it.

I guess you can say that's why this blog has been dragging for awhile. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of what I have not done.

BUT....On a brighter note, each day I get closer and closer to writing my stories...I have learned a lot from the books that I have read on the subject and a few tips and pointers from helpful friends.

Been somewhat at work.....LAST Minute procrastination rocks!!!

Sorry guys for ignoring my blog....been furiously at work on my story....

Also after I noticed I have about...um...9 more months to get my goals in order...I kinda freaked. AND!!!! I have been a bit...how do you say....on the move.

RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!! Speaking of running, I have been walking with Taylor lately...the boy is kicking my butt. Talk about a man on a mission. I was very inspired by his dedication in getting his goals done.

Anyway, this picture here is very inspirational to my idea that I have been developing in the past few months.

The Inspiration of Mythology

I have been quite inspired by mythology these past few years.Whether it is the video games like God of War, books like America Gods &/or Percy Jackson and the Oympians or even comics like Superman or X-men, even movies like Star War, I can't seem to get enough of it.

It has been a had a huge impact (now more than ever) on a story(s) that I have been trying to write these past few years. One in particular that I mentioned a few post ago on this blog.

Last night my story came to life in a big way..

Athena the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, War and the Arts has been a one very influential character in this story...not her in particular but what she stands for. To me she is like the first true superhero. She wasn't a perfect person...but she was one of the truest and bravest of the Gods..... She had the brains of Batman, the heart of Superman and a warrior like (do not fuck with me) fighter of Wonder Woman.

So lately, I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed.....

I wasn't sure where to begin with anything.

Haven't written anything in awhile. Haven't gone to the gym...etc...

I seem to let other unimportant things run me.

My list also seem to have a mind of their own. There seem to be list for list.....

Why was I overwhelmed? Not sure but doing nothing was not helping and writing list on everything wasn't getting anything done either.

When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. When you keep ignoring something by doing something else, you feel overwhelmed. But when you do something (not matter how big or small) you feel a sense of hope and accomplishment.

So here I go....first 500 words of my book I wanted to write starts tonight... :)

I thought it would be appropriate to change the name from "Babaloo 4 U" to "Babaloo's Journey". It just seems to ring better with me....and the fact I am always taking about a journey.

Thanks to my lovely partner. I get to go on a Disney Cruise. Not just any Disney Cruise it will be a new ship called the Disney Dream.

So what is the new goal? Well....I have to come up with about $600 from now until Halloween 2010. PROBLEM!!! I think not. I will have a widget tracking my progress soon. Among other widgets to track some others...

The Water Drinker

Gulp, Gulp Gulp....."runs to bathroom"......

I have been drinking more water than usual. I have given up the soda kick and I gotta tell ya it wasn't as hard as I thought. Sure, every now and then I will have a diet soda with a meal. But it only happens on the weekends when I go out and it's happening less frequently.

So by drinking water and eating right (thanks to Taylor's great cooking)...I have lost some weight...unoffically about 1 to 2 pounds (more on that coming soon)....I have not gone to the gym as much as I liked but little by little (hopefully) it will be more frequent and I'll be able to lose more.

I gotta lose at least 10 pounds by April. (see "I gotta good kick in the butt" post)
