After going in beta at the beginning of this year, the website properly opened its doors to the public on July 1 and, at the moment, about 650 individuals have registered. The website details the events of the June 16th 1976 uprisings in Soweto, an event that many consider the beginning of the end of apartheid, and is a mashup of services such as Google Maps, Flickr and Wikipedia.
