Janine’s First Day of Preschool

After Janine’s third birthday, I’ve never posted anything on what she is actually doing at three. Actually, she’s been doing fine for the past 4 months. She’s a lot more active and naughtier and talkative as well. She got new friends and more are still coming because today is Janine’s first day of preschool. Yepeyyy!!!!

Just like other moms, I’m also quite nervous about this thing. I don’t know how she will interact with her first teacher and her classmates (and new group of friends). Actually, there are more negative thoughts in my mind right now rather than positive ones, why? because 2 weeks ago, when Janine and I had a practice class at home, at first she was really responsive to the questions I asked her but after 4 - 5 minutes of practice class, she’d just randomly answer the questions without even thinking it.Sometimes she will give you a frowning face if you keep repeating yourself and she will then refuse to answer you. Now tell me, is this something that I shouldn’t worry about?

Anyway, I believe her teacher can handle my lil chinky girl. As a matter of fact, her teacher was my preschool teacher before, so at least that gives me a peace of mind. My father will escort Janine when going to school and going back home because I just can’t make it because of my work schedule, even JB can’t make it... Poor little girl, but I guess she’ll be fine.

Look at you now my lil chinky. You’re so big, smart and sweet but most of the time you’re a spoiled brat and you love making mess in our simple abode. I always go insane whenever your throw your tantrums here and there but I will always hug and kiss you whenever you feel bad.

Three years ago, I was amazed by your sweet and tiny face and I cannot forget my favorite smell - the smell of your tiny little feet (too bad it doesn't smell like that now!).

Three years later, I can still see your beautiful chinky eyes and they always look beautiful to me. I loved the way how you sing your first version of ABC song because you can’t properly sing the “LMNOP” part and you even insist that WXYZ is “diamond X Y Z”.

I love how you pretend that you can read books like you’re the best reader you could imagine because honestly, you sound like an alien talking in an alien-language (and it’s really cute and funny).

I’m always impressed that you can now identify different colors and shapes but it looks like you are not that interested with letters and numbers because “W” is your only friend and sometimes you skip some numbers when you count. I’m so proud that you no longer pee in your pants, except when you’re being scolded badly and when you sleep during cold nights.

Sometimes, it frustrates me to get you dressed when we go out because sometimes, you pick the most horrible outfit and it takes me couple of minutes to convince you that it isn't a good pick. There are times that you sleep in the most funny position and you still do that (you’re such a joker). You always say to me that you’re a big girl already and that you want to go to school and meet other children ( I hope you continue that eagerness baby.)

YES you are indeed a big girl now but you are also my lil chinky. I wished that you continue to be sweet to us and may you have a good health always and be a good girl to everyone. I love you my baby girl.

It was a super fun weekend to us. Janine (extremely) loves it cos it was her first time to be at a Jollibee kiddie party, (thanks to JB's manager for inviting Janine to Kent and Keith's Birthday parteeeyy)

Sometimes, I hate it when she's playing dirt outside.
But yesterday, seeing her doing this thing makes me feel great.
I can sense that she's starting to regain her energy after being sick for more than a week and 3 days confinement to the hospital.

It was hard for me seeing her sick especially when she has that painful needle attached to her hand.

You're Driving Me Crazy

I have never been spoiled by my parents when I was a kid and even JB didn't had enough playthings during his childhood days. However, this little brat below often gets the stuff that makes her happy.

As I remember my life before, it was really never easy for us especially to me because as a kid, I always love toys but buying them isn't always included on my mama's list. Every penny she gets from her job (as a cook) is always intended for our necessary expenses. With that situation before, my father taught me how to make my own savings. Every time my uncles, aunties or godparents gave me some money, I keep it on a bamboo coin bank made by my father. I also remember that during Christmas season or during

Fiesta (every 3rd Sunday of January) I can buy new toys or whatever I want using my own savings and that really makes me so happy.

Well, I am so thankful with that experience of mine because it taught me how to value hard-earned money and practice frugal living.

Right now, I am happy that my ‘lil chinky didn't (really) experience the life I had before. However, I just hope that when she matures, she will never think that she can have all the material things that she likes particularly those expensive ones. Yay!!! I'll get crazy with that. C'mon baby we're not millionaires.

Ohgawd! I envy my child ‘cos she'll probably learn how to drive a 2-wheeled bicycle at a very young age while her momma stays incapable of driving this so-called "easy to drive vehicle". I even told her that if she can already drive a motorcycle maybe she could drive me to work sometime. Ohhh... that is really cute and sweet.

I just hate mosquitoes

I admit, I am not that cautious with whatever thing that comes out from my mouth, what I mean is the thing that I say in front of my kid. As far as I remember, I haven't said any bad words in front of her
(I guess so). Well, there are some silly words I say to her but I am 100% sure that those stuff ain't bad at all. I know my little girl is pretty smart and she's a great imitator. She actually loves to imitate dance moves from TV commercials or PSY's Gangnam Style dance moves. I think every kid does, so moms and dads or anyone... be extra careful with whatever you say when there is a kid close to you.

Anyway, here's what had happened yesterday afternoon. While watching Iron Man 1 and 2, I was bothered by these blood sucking mosquitoes. I was really pissed off because I see many of them flying around my legs. What I didn't know was, Janine heard all the cursing I did to the mosquitoes while killing them. The exact phrase I uttered that time was, "y@w@ mong mga lamuka mo". Well, it's sounds like "F.U mosquitoes". I didn't realize how bad I was that time until I heard her uttering "y@wa@" repeatedly in front of me and JB. That was really a jaw-dropping moment to me. Oh gawd, she did say it... Er... my bad. I just hope it won't happen again.

Our Giant Banana: Tindok

We finally cut our Tindok banana *tree (though it’s technically considered as herbaceous plant). It’s our first time to grow this type of banana and it’s definitely the biggest variety I have seen so far (Is there any type bigger than that?) This type of banana is not eaten directly. You have to cook it first just like the saba banana but what we did is, we sliced the ripe one and we ate a little portion of it (we're just curious about its taste - but hey... we didn't ate the whole ripe banana).
Yesterday, we cooked the unripe tindok and it taste good just like saba.

I'm still strong

Life has been so hard to me lately, I am emotionally broken. Discouragement is starting to tear me into pieces. Problems, confusion, misunderstandings are also coming along together. I find it hard to talk about it with anybody even to my husband, because I always think that they will never understand it and they might only think that I am the bad one.

When certain things happen in an instant, it's good to embrace acceptance and move on.
When you believe that mishaps will eventually come to you, always ask God for guidance and strong heart to take it.
If you want want to grow and become a better individual, explore the world and move your feet to a better space. There are so many interesting and challenging things out there.
If someone is judging you wrongly, speak out (cry if you want) and let them know that you're not that type. There is nothing wrong with crying or sobbing because it's one way of giving your heart a lift.
Lastly, don't forget to love yourself more.

Last Saturday, I might not have enjoyed the beach well (because of this) but I know it was fun. Prior to that day, I prepared a little "onjes" birthday celebration for my naughty 2 year old girl. Onjes Cake and Onjes dress for the birthday girl who loves Onjes (orange).

It's been a week already! Swollen gum and cheek is pretty annoying (and embarrassing). Before Janine's birthday, I was already troubled because my right cheek started to get big but pain wasn't there yet. Saturday was Janine's post-birthday celebration. We went to the beach along with my family and other inlaws. Just like what I expected, It was a HOT day. Honestly, I want to enjoy the day but I just couldn't make it cos my gum and my cheek started aching and it's quite unbearable. I have already taken medicine but I don't feel any relief at all. Sunday and Monday was the worst days for me (that time), I feel very ugly and cursed.

Currently, I am feeling better and back to my normal routine. Tomorrow's a good day to pull this tooth out!
