This is my first post for February (really!!! it's already mid-Feb) so don't mess with me (hmm just kidding). And Oh... Mr Google is showin' some love for (just) this day too! Check out Google.com now - Feb. 14

Well, enough with Mr. Google's valentine goody, 'Lemme say to you that it was February 1 when my little girl turns one. It was actually a simple celebration but it was so special for her and for us as well. We've had some bonding moments with some of my closest friends and relatives. And did you remember about the test she had? Well, unfortunately, she's positive in the result, and I was so sad about that but we are still thankful that we knew about it before it's too late. With that result, she's starting her 6 months oral administration of medication . Oh I hate it because she's having (little) issues with taking medicines but we don't have choice and she has no choice either (poor baby).

And also, last Saturday, we had our very first sports fest event and guess what? our team (White Hackers) were the overall champion of all the major games! woot woot!!! (and today is our company's first year anniversary, so Happy Anniversary APEX)

Baby Update: She's almost one!

Here's a little update on Janine's development before she turns one!
I can hardly believe that my little chinky is almost one now. Wow! it's a big achievement for me as a mom. It's never been so easy handling a naughty yet sweet little girl.

On my first year as a mom, I have learned a lot of things (as in so many things).
From handling my pregnancy period up to the point I managed those painful stages of labor,
the delivery period, changing diapers, breastfeeding, preparing the milk, dealing a sick baby
and a lot more. Speaking of sick baby, Janine got sick again but it wasn't so serious since
she didn't had a fever, just cough and colds, but I still hate it because it's annoying my little
girl's sleep sessions. Especially when she got clogged nose (ohhh it sucks and I know how hard it is)
2nd Friday of January, we brought to her pedia because of cough issue and she was given 3 kinds of medicines. Couple of days after that, she was entirely fine. Then we noticed last week that she started coughing again, and oh jeez...she starts sneezing too. Then we brought her back to her pedia. Dr. C examined her and changed her vitamins and she was given and anti-allergy but same med for her cough. Dr. C also told us that she will also undergo a medical test, I'm not really sure how is it named but it's something about a test on pneumonia (I forgot its term). When Dr. C mentioned this thing, I was slightly worried, pneumonia? it's alarming to me huh! I hope we see good results after the test (we were just waiting for Dr. C's call for the test schedule).

Enough with the sick issue and going back to the topic, on the last baby update I wrote, I mentioned those things Janine are learning. Right now, she's learning some new things and gestures like learning how to use the comb, how to use the fan, how to put the alcohol on her hand and apply it on her hands and arms (it's my favorite thing she does). She also points her finger to the wall when we say "lizard" (oh that's cute)!

Kids (Before and Now)

While reading a post concerning obesity problems on kids, I was a bit alarmed that my little girl might get it in the future. However, I was not that worried because I know I'm fairly responsible in terms of observing what she's been eating. Well, it's not always about the meals they consumed at home or elsewhere but it's about their physical activities. Obesity is not a sin but it's a form of irresponsibility.

While I was thinking about obesity, I could sometimes blame the technologies just like the modern gadgets and some other indoor entertainments. Why? because they're competing the old outdoor games and other outdoor activities that we used to play. A lot more kids now are exposed to computer games, PSP games, texting and whatsoever things and games that doesn't involve (huge) physical activity.

I seldom see kids playing patintero(try to cross my line without letting me touch or catch you), luksong tinik (jump over the thorns), luksong baka (jump over the cow), the hide-and-seek game, chinese garter >(which is my favorite) and a lot more traditional (Filipino) games.
Well, I used to play those games when I was in elementary and as far as I can remember, the last time I played (some of) those games was when I was on my first year in High School (yeah, I'm not kidding).

I just turned 23 and a boy just earned his wings

January 15, 2012 it was Sunday when I turned 23. There wasn't really a special celebration, I just went to the church prayed and attended the Holy Mass along with my family. That day was also the feast of Sto. Niño, so it's kinda a big day also. Today, it's Monday and I'm back to work but I have something special to tell you all.
It's really a special post. I have mixed emotions this time.
So today, I checked Courtney's blog, and then OHH, I found out that my favorite drummer boy had finally earned his wings January 14 (Ponchatoula time - it's Jan. 15 in the Philippines) and hey that's my birth-day.

My heart was really twisted but I am having that happy feeling knowing that Tripp's gonna feel Jesus' embrace. He will finally live an everlasting life with no more pain at all.

You will always be remembered Tripp.

Unplanned visit

It's our 50th monthsary today (btw, happy monthsary yang) but I wanted to post something different. This is not the usual 'sweet' type of post ...uhm like telling sweet words to your partner, but it's about a thing that I don't want to happen again.

Actually, I was a bit hesitant on posting this thing on my blog, but I just realized that this blog isn't always for great things in my life. So here's how the short story goes...

After having a noisy and joyful new year's eve, I woke up one (new year) morning without having my hubby at my side, I though he's on the kitchen but he's not there. Janine was still asleep. I checked my phone but there's no text message/s from him. The only thing I can remember that happened that evening was, he's doing some drinking session with his cousins outside our house (I went to sleep after 2am but he's still partying)... Then around 7am, he sent me sms confirming that he's out in the city (he didn't even told me he'll go out and I know he's really drunk when he left). I was terribly mad at him then I started to cry. It was new year but he's partying out with other people (oh jeez this man is really insane- I hope he realizes what I feel that day).

Suddenly my bff texted me that my other bff is at her house then I told her what had happened, she then invited me to go into her house along with my little one (thanks God I have them). I hurriedly prepared myself and my baby cos my dumb@ss husband might come home (haha). My bff picked me up from the terminal and I spent my whole morning with my bffs and that heavy feeling was relieved.
I did enjoyed that moment with them and I know they loved it too cos Janine was there (and she's practicing doing her steps).

It's almost 10 am when my husband texted me back. He's asking where was I. I didn't response. He called me through my phone many times but I ignored it (i'm obviously upset and I know he's freaking out not getting any response from me)... After our lunch, I finally texted him. He picked me up but I was still having that
M-A-D feeling at him. Then of course we talked about the issue, but it wasn't an easy discussion and it took so long before we became okay. He apologized for what he did and he knew he was wrong (good for him.)

My little smart

Just this week, I noticed that, now, my little one knows how to respond to some things. She knows how to response when I asked her to make a "strong" look, when I asked her to "close and open" her hands, when I asked her to clap her hands and when she's been asked to wave bye bye.
I actually love it and I keep repeating it, though sometimes she refuses to do so, especially when she's doing something else or whenever she's not in the mood of doing this sh*tty thing.

I know she's a smart child and I would love to see her grow as a smart kid. And she can now walk independently! yes, without holding to anything but she can only do a minimum of 2 steps (I hope she can already walk (straight) before her 1st birthday comes.

Another thing is, she's also learning some stupidity-haha (yeah, I consider it a little stupid). - Picking her nose and afterwards, places that 'certain' finger inside her mouth (oh that's gross) haha.

Yesterday, while watching the NEWS about the disaster caused by tropical depression Sendong, I can’t help myself not to cry because hundreds of life, including little children, were found dead (600+ are confirmed dead and many are still missing). Though we're not affected, I can also feel their pain.
It's not easy to carry the pain of losing love ones and it's never easy to be homeless.
The most affected areas were Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City but I was really worried because it's pretty near to Pagadian.
Oh jeez... I hope it won't happen to us, and I'm praying that it will never happen again.

Let’s just offer a prayer for all the victims of Sendong.

Seeing these photos, it's hard to celebrate a "Merry" Christmas.

Janine fell off the bed (bad mama)

The first time Janine falls off the bed was when JB and I fell asleep one boring afternoon, second was under the care of my mom, but those incidents were not really a bad drop for her cos she didn't really fell directly to the floor.

The third time was yesterday afternoon and it was totally a terrible fall for her (and its my fault.) .
I cant really remember what she did that time, the only thing I noticed was, she was playing a horsey-hosey ride close to my legs when suddenly I noticed that she jumped off my legs going to the floor. I did tried holding her one arm to stop her from falling but unluckily I also lose my balance and dropped on the floor along with her. I hurriedly stand and pick her up and hug her while she cries so hardly.
Thanks God she's okay but I still feel guilty to what had happened.
That time, I was really in the state of shock. I hope it won't happen again. Sorry baby! (mama will be very careful from now on). Poor chinky!

Well, Happy December to all, and oh we only have 23 days left before Christmas day!
Christmas season is probably the most popular season by most Christians. Christmas carols, beautiful Christmas lights, Santa Claus craze, and a lot more.

Christmas 2011 is probably the most Christmas to me, why? because it's Janine's first Christmas, isn't it wonderful. Last year I was pregnant when we celebrated it, but this year, we now have our little chick. (Oh...I'm so happy)!

Yesterday, we bought Janine her first nursery rhymes DVD but firstly, we bought her an alphabet song (months and months ago) but she didn't liked it. Secondly, we bought her Pooh and Friends dvd and still, she seems to be showing a very little concernment (my goodness what's wrong with this child). I was wondering why, maybe she's too young to understand and relate to it. But yesterday, (thank God) she acted really happy as in really HAPPY while she's watching and listening to the beat of the Old MacDonald song!
She was jumping and seems to be dancing crazily, grinning from ear to ear! haha.

the "mama" word

On my Saturday post about my baby's update, I mentioned about Janine not being able to utter the precious mama word (that I've been wanting to hear since the time she started to babble). But that long wait is over because that day also (night time), I heard that she's uttering the word mama. It wasn't so clear but I know it's a "mama" word, my heart melted. Wow! that was so magical, finally she made it, and my heart felt so much joy. I had a wonderful week because I haven't just heard it once, not twice but many times.

Baby Update

The last time I posted about Janine’s development was when she had her first tooth. Now, she already have two tiny teeth. As far as I can remember, her second tooth came out a couple of days later after her first tooth erupts.

Anything (else) new with my ‘Lil Chinky?
Well, she can now wave bye bye and can clap her hands, more babbling, new words but still no “mama” word (poor mama) and hey! I am so happy to tell you all that she's now learning to stand without support, I guess, a minimum of 5 seconds. Isn't it wonderful to see?

The previous days, she got sick (maybe teething issues), 39.6 ºC (=103.28 ºF) fever and vomiting (I was panicking), but she's now back in her crazy little world!

4 years of being together

"11-11-11" whatta special day!!!!

4 years ago, I lived a happy and worry-free single life. Then I met (again) this annoying guy (who was also my classmate before). Unexpectedly, we made a promise of commitment and tried to make a not-so-perfect relationship. That relationship worked out and we admit, it wasn't a perfect relationship but we know it was "the best" (reallyyyyyyy!!!).

He tried to be my perfect guy and I tried to be his perfect woman but we ended becoming the "real us" and

we accepted each other's imperfectness and that what makes us "perfect couple" on our own. We do have little misunderstandings sometime but we never had a big fight as in "BIG fight", and I am so proud of that.

So where are we now? Well, of course we are still here and we are staying stronger every day. Today, it’s our 4th year anniversary of being together and we are both wishing to have many many more years of sharing ups and downs.

Happy 4th year anniversary Yang.

Thanks for being a good boyfriend (before), a good husband (today), a good father to Janine and lastly, thank you because you never forget to be a good friend to me.

Hey mommies, I might be so quite these previous days (sorry for that) but it doesn't mean I'm dead. Hey I am alive. And speaking of being dead, Halloween night is (really) fast approaching and I am so thrilled for that, why? because it's Janine's first Halloween. But are we going to have a Halloween party? uhhmm.. not really sure about that because it's not in our traditions (but I hope we could celebrate for the first time). What we usually do is celebrate our peaceful All Saints Day and All Souls Day for our late beloved ones... (Poor chinky).

Janine's first tooth

It was Oct. 15 when I noticed that Janine’s lower front tooth finally came out. When I found out that she already had her first little tooth, of course I felt really glad (I even touched it with my finger). Below is a picture of what it looks like, it’s not really hers but it looks exactly the same of what she has now (I couldn't take (my own) picture of it because she hates it every time I tried opening her mouth.. arg!!!)

Well,That’s the good side when your baby starts having their little chewing and biting buddies. But there’s one bad thing I hate about it (which I think most moms do) and that is when your baby is tryin’ to sink their tooth (worst if teeth) into your precious little nipples (am I right about it mommies?).

Hmm, do I feel angry about it? YES of course, but I just couldn’t really blame her cos I know she’s not really aware that I was actually hurt.
Patience mommies, remember that you are the MOM and they are the BABIES.
