I know, I know - I talk a lot about my phone - I'm mean it's borderline obsessive, but when I was given the opportunity to talk about how my cellphone has helped me out in a tight situation, I couldn't help but share with you my most recent scare with my mother.

Just a few months ago, I received a call from my brother that no family member wants to get. He said to call 911 because my mother was having sharp pains and couldn't breathe. She was alone at work and he was rushing over there to try to help her. In a panic I called 911 and waited to hear news. When the call finally came he informed me that she was taken to the hospital by ambulance and they would be keeping her there for observation.

As quickly as I could grab my things, I rushed out the door, pulled my daughter out of school and headed to the hospital. The only problem is that I had no idea where I was headed! She was unfortunately taken to a hospital that was across town and a good 45mins from where I was. I was unfamiliar with the area and had no idea how to get there, so I turned on the navigation feature on my phone and relied on it to get me there.

It ended up giving me step by step instructions on how to get there in a moment's notice - which quite frankly was a Godsend. I could have never gotten there so quickly if it weren't for my phone.

Thankfully, it was nothing life threatening and my mother was released from the hospital later that day to treat her kidney stones. I've never had that type of scare in my life, nor do I ever want to again! But I guess if something should come up then I can rest assure that my trusty smartphone will be there!

I was originally going to do a write up of last night's Grammys, but after watching 3 1/2 hours of nonsense you can pretty much sum up the night in just a few words: Adele is a goddess. Nicki Minaj is garbage. Enough said.

With only a few days left, New York Fashion Week has already shown the world some pretty fantastic stuff. Some greater than others - in fact there have been a few standouts that make my list of Best Fall 2012 Collection. Here they are in no particular order.

Prabal Gurung Runway 2012 Fall

Prabal Gurung's collection seemed to have an edgy dark side, but with just a few moments of softness that literally took your breath away.

BCBG Runway 2012 Fall

Colorblocking dominated the BCBG runway with a mix of rich colors.

Jason Wu Runway 2012 Fall

Jason Wu's collection consisted of luxurious garments inspired by his trip back to China.

Monique Lhullier Runway Fall 2012

It was glamour all the way at the Monique Lhullier runway. Decadent evening gowns with va-va-voom moments.

Honor Runway Fall 2012

Sticking to her motiff of sweet, feminine, and delicate, Honor's runway was nothing short of lovely.

Rachel Zoe Runway 2012 Fall

Rachel Zoe continues to send what looks to be her own wardrobe down the catwalk - Good thing I love her, and her 70's inspired Bianca Jagger looks to pieces.

On Friday's, our evenings usually consist of greasy take-out and watching episodes of 'Who do you think you are'. Not the most exciting - I know, but hey after 7 years of marriage you kind of just look forward to spending some down time together.

Anywho, this week's episode had Marisa Tomei going to Italy in search of answers to find out why her great grandfather was murdered. And while Marisa may have been on a quest to find her ancestors, I was on a quest to track down her super-stylish outfits! I absolutely loved everything she wore.

Mama Got A New Phone!

Jason decided to give me an early Valentine's Day present (well..more like forced to give it to me once I found about it - but that's not the point.)

I got a new phone!

And for a smartphone junkie like me, it's probably the most romantic gift he could've gotten me. I've been spending my days stroking it and kissing it. I absolutely love this thing! I've been eying this baby for awhile and can't believe it's finally sleeping in bed next to me!

Look What I Scored @Marshalls For 10 Bucks!

So on Monday I decided to hit up Marshall's, since last week I had great luck finding doggie beds at Home Goods (I bought 2 for the price of 1 at the pet store - Holla!) I always love going in there and don't know why I don't go more often, because you can always find some great deals even if it takes a bit to scavenge through the store.

I ended up finding a few things including a cute jacket for my daughter and a fly away cardigan for myself but what really caught my eye was this Nine West Glitterazi laptop sleeve because, let's face it--I have a weakness for anything that sparkles.

But as much as I liked it, I was unsure if I should buy it because I already have a cute laptop case. Then I saw that it was on clearance for $10 (originally $25), and determined that I would be a fool to put it down.

Beauty Tip Of The Day: Picking The Best Eyeshadow For Your Eye Color.

They say your eyes are the window to your soul so why not play them up with the right shade for your eye color? Rebecca Prior from the Napoleon Perdis' Makeup Academy in Hollywood, says that opposite colors on the color wheel work best.

For blue eyes: "Since orange is the opposite color of blue, anything with orange in it will make blue eyes stand out more. It doesn't have to be a blazing sun color -- it just has to have orangey undertones like gold, apricot, or peach,"

For green eyes: "Red is the opposite color of green, which isn't to say you should apply a cherry red-colored eyeshadow to your lids. But you'll help your green eyes pop if you use colors that have red undertones, like deep plums and wine."

For brown eyes: "Brown is a neutral color, so any color will work well, but the most standout colors are blue and purple."

It's Official, Clint Eastwood Can Make Me Believe In Anything In Under 2 Mins.

Well the Super Bowl is over and done with and the New York Giants rose up as Champions (again). Whoop!! Whoop!! The game was a nail biter till the end, but what really has people's tongues wagging is the awesome half-time performance by Madonna and of course the commercials. It seems that the M&M 'Sexy and I Know It' commercial got the most laughs, but the one that really struck a chord with me was Clint Eastwood's Chrysler Commercial.

Talk about deep! I don't know if it's his voice, or if I was overly emotional with the game--or what! But the man brought a tear to my eye in less than 2 minutes. Geez! Kudos to Chrysler for taking a different route and making a commercial that was truly inspirational.

3 Cuban Restaurants In NYC You HAVE To Try!

Having lived in Miami I've eaten a good share of Cuban food, but some of the BEST Cuban food I've eaten has been right here in NYC. Next time you have a craving for some Spanish food, or are in town visiting consider eating at one of these delicious restaurants.

1. Victor's Cafe

Victor's is located in the theatre district is probably the most well known Cuban restaurant in town. It's been open since 1963 and after trying their food you'll see why! Their high-end menu consists of old classics as well as some exclusive mouth-watering signature plates. They have a very authentic atmosphere complete with cane-backed chairs and paddle fans in the rafters.

2. Havana Central

Havana Central has 2 locations, one in the upper west side and another one near times square on W46th st. which has quickly become our favorite Cuban spot. The portions are generous, the live-music is energetic, and the atmosphere transports you to Cuba in the 1950's complete with vintage posters and towering palm trees. Oh, did I mention that the food and drinks are delicious too?!

3. Cabana Nuevo Latino

Cabana also has several locations including some in Florida, but the location on South Street Seaport was the one to reel me in. They have a wrap around patio that provides some spectacular views of the pier, waterways, and the Brooklyn bridge. The food is great and priced extremely well for the atmosphere!

I just came across this H&M clutch that is sure to punch up any wardrobe, yet it's so simple and understated--it goes with everything! This cute clutch is made out of faux suede with a patent detail on flap and metal chain shoulder strap.

Personally, I'm loving the orange one. I mean, how great will that look for summer?! And at under $18 this bag is really a no-brainer.

OK, OK, I changed my mind--I'll take one in every color please!

Jennifer Lopez is not only a fashion diva, but a rule breaker as well! Here she is wearing white trousers during winter, and looking fabulous at it too! Putting that old fashion rule of not wearing white after labor day to shame. I absolutely looove this outfit and think it's an amazing way to still dress appropriate for winter, but also incorporate those pops of colors we love as we get close to spring.

Making New Memories Watching A Classic. {Lady and The Tramp Coming Soon!}

My baby has been battling a bug these last few days. Poor thing, she got the works including pink eye! Ugh. I feel so bad for her. Good thing she's been able to rest up and we've been able to spend some quality time snuggled up on the couch watching one of my all-time favorite kids movies-- Lady and the Tramp!

On February 7th, Lady and The Tramp is being released for the first time on hi-definition Blu-ray with Disney's Diamond Edition combo pack. Lady and the Tramp is a classic tale of how Lady, a golden cocker spaniel, falls for a mongrel dog named Tramp from the other side of town.

It was one of my favorite movies growing up and I'm so happy I can now enjoy watching it with my little girl who loves it just as much as I do!

And I know we're not the only fans, so I've included some fun activities you can print out including a yummy recipe for spaghetti and meatballs for the Lady and the Tramp lover in your family. Enjoy!

Marilyn Monroe once said, "Give a girl the right shoes, and she'll conquer the world." Don't you feel like that's true? It's the simple things that we do for ourselves that puts that extra bounce in our step. Things like putting on a fabulous pair of shoes, smearing on some red lipstick, and zipping up that little black dress.

All these things can transform a girl's self-esteem like no self-help book can.

Fashion is not just pretty dresses and fancy shoes--it's the ability to express your style and feelings through clothes. It's the reason you can look rockstar chic one day, and glam diva the next, (depending on your mood of course.)

Sometimes we forget what a huge difference taking the time to simply curl our hair, or paint our nails will make in our day. But it's simple, really--when we look good, we feel good. Period.

I know sometimes it isn't easy to take that time for ourselves. I've been guilty of losing myself to the wife and mom role from time to time too, but hearing my husband say that I look beautiful on our date night, or have my daughter say that she loves my top on her way to school, is enough to snap me right back in place and find things that make me feel extra special to wear. In fact, my favorite shoes to wear are classy and flirty heels that instantly make me feel a bit minxy and ready to take on the world!

Nearly every woman expresses some kind of concern about her skin as she ages. We all worry about sun spots and even those fine lines and crow's feet. While I personally adore crow's feet (they mean you've laughed and lived a little!), I don't want my skin to look dull or papery thin as I begin to add a few years on to my life. To combat these obvious signs of aging, I have started to look for some great skin care products – especially for my face.

On this search, however, I have learned that not all skin care products are created equal – even the high dollar ones. Most of the skin care products that I came across were riddled with additional chemicals and unnatural additives. I want my face to get clean and my lotions and toners to restore my skin's color and suppleness, but I definitely don't want my skincare products to irritate my skin further – which those with alcohol and chemicals can easily do.

Recently though, I was able to come across a whole line of natural skin care products, Pai Skincare, which was natural, meaning free of parabens and other harsh chemicals. I already try to keep our diets fairly natural in the house and am always on the look-out for great ways to make a greener life for myself and my family, so I figured, “why not? I'll give these a shot.”

To my surprise the natural skincare products were just as effective, if not more so, as any of my friends' high-end traditional products. I also didn't have to worry about slathering on extra lotion from chemicals drying out my skin preventing me from having a greasy looking t-zone or any surprise breakouts. They also gave me the added benefits of the natural vitamins and minerals that are within the products themselves.
Another additional perk to buying natural products is that most of them come in plant-based biodegradable packaging, making living a little more green even easier. I like that I can actually buy a product that is good for me, and good for the environment. In addition, they aren't tested on animals so I can purchase them completely guilt free. However, natural skin care products can be a little more expensive than some traditional brands so don't be afraid to shop around to make sure that you can get the best deal on the best product for you.

Olivia Palermo was photographed out and about this month in what I think is a stylish yet comfortable look for the every day fashionista. Dressed in a budget-friendly Esprit top and faux fur vest, this fearless chick also mixed in some edgy leather pants and burgundy ankle booties.

Personally I would wear this look a little more casual with black skinny jeans and tall burgundy boots instead, but I still love how Olivia styled everything.

A Cozy Winter Weekend.

This weekend I was suppose to take my daughter to a b-day party, go on a dinner date, and entertain family at my house, but what did we do instead?

Yup. Play in the snow.

Our busy weekend turned into a chill-at-home weekend once a snowstorm moved in Friday night, hence the no make-up (sorry).

But those are always the best weekends anyways, right?... :)
