Back in the day, i used to swear by heels. But becoming a mom sort of changes that. It's hard to wear vertiginous pumps with a baby strapped to your front. With kids, there are some lifestyle changes, yes, but when i go out I still favor as high a heel as i can find. 

Apparently, according to Boing Boing (and researchers at University "Gabriele d'Annunzio" in Chieti,Italy, people are more apt to respond affirmatively if you direct your query to their right ears. After a series of studies, using clubbers in a noisy bar as test subjects, with the objective of bumming the most things-that-your-children-will-never-smoke-but-labbits-do, the right ear won.

Adios impersonal, run of the mill computers- - Enter Brooklyn based tattoo artist, illustrator and creative visionary Scott Campbell from Saved Tattoo. His tattoo like laser etchings done on a replacement back for  laptops are so detailed and awesome (check em out on Campbell's creative collective Mama Tried), it turns a plain jane computer into a timeless piece of art - paradoxically on an ephemeral technology. We wanted to give a shout out to two companies that we love who have tied the knot. Maclaren, purveyor of the super easy, light and stylish strollers has just acquired Netto Collection, the beautiful hand lacquered by Russian scientists and Latvian monks (or something like that) nursery furniture company.  

We've been big fans of TOMS shoes and their concept for some time. Now they have Element on board, donating Skateboards - pretty awesome! For every TOMS + Element skateboard purchased, Element gives a skateboard to a child outside of Durban, South Africa to provide refuge from the dangerous areas in which they live. TOMS also created a limited edition collection. Shoes and boards will go to the Indigo Skate Camp in the Isithumba village in October.

It's been coming for a while now - they've been improving features on the Bugaboo Cameleon and Frog and the price has not changed (or if anything, it went down). Starting July 1, however, Bugaboo has confirmed that the prices will increase for the Frog and the Cameleon. 

Bugaboo recently announced a defect in some Bugaboo Bees - that the brake didn't fully engage. No injuries were reported, but obviously it was a serious situation. They immediately sent out a "fix" - brackets to be clipped on on either side of the brake to reinforce it. All Bugaboo Bees are being made with this piece currently.  If you have a Bee without the bracket around the brake, please contact Bugaboo directly or come down to Babesta and we will give you one!
