Gary and Karen chose our Bump to Baby package, we then met Robin for his first photoshoot when he was 7 days old and we loved him to bits   Karen and Chef Gary are very good friends of ours and it is so great to see them become a family with little chef Robin.  This 3 month shoot is a lovely time to, we normally get some great photos and Robin did not disappoint, I soon found Robins trigger point to get him smiling and it worked a treat so he and I once again became buddies and the photos are amazing.  We did several different sets before Robin got tired and I can honestly say the photos are amazing.

Sue and I are so lucky to have a warm and comfortable and above all very safe studio dedicated to photographing our newborns which is based in Bassett Southampton very near to the chilworth roundabout and Stoneham Golf club so easy to find and within 2 minutes of both main motorways and Southampton city. We use a very specialised lighting system for our newborns which not only gives us a very distinctive look but leaves your baby sleeping without constant flashing, We have a separate comfortable nursing area if required as well as tea and coffee facilities and a very comfortable area for parents to watch and enjoy the shoot, all in all its a pretty fabulous experience for new parents.

This week we have had 2 more Bump shoots and look forward to some more newborns very soon, you can check out our bump and baby package below, about 50% of our clients start with a bump shoot but we rarely show these because they are so personal but you can check some out in the galleries above.

Well Ian and Yvonne also came down for a bump shoot (links below) and then after the amazing Charlotte was born they whisked her down to see us in Southampton too.  Lottie came to see us at 17 days old which is a little older than preferred but we worked at it and got some truly amazing photographs that I am very proud of and that Mum and Dad adore. We even managed to change Lottie which is the one thing older babies don’t like so much. We spent a couple of hours photographing and came away with a beautiful selection.

Its been a wonderful journey for us all and one that I am proud to have been part of, I am looking forward to seeing Lottie, Ian and Yvonne again soon to continue our adventure together.

We were both delighted when we found out that Ruth was expecting and when they called Baby jp to pre book their shoot but not nearly as delighted as we were when we first met Zachary who from start to finish was the perfect little chap for us,  we changed him and moved him and he slept, we moved and changed him again and still he slept  he is an adorable super cozy little boy.  We had such a fun time photographing him here in our Hampshire newborn studio and it seems he loved being here.

Sue and I met ChefGary and Karen back in 2007 for an engagement shoot prior to photographing their wedding later that year which you can see here. We have also photographed Gary lots of times since for his corporate work and a training day which was just outstanding and why Robin is photographed so much, Gary has an amazing talent and passion for photography and I am pleased to see lots of photos of Robin on Facebook I am sure those of you that follow me have seen them too on my Facebook news feeds.

I have had a few messages this last month or so about people trying to imitate us !  sheesh here we go again but  I am pleased to say that our new studio is progressing well and we expect to move in sometime during the long warm summer, hopefully June  Once we are in we will have our own unique backdroops that are being designed for us as we speak and wont be easily copied,  We have noticed this year that a lot of local “mums with cameras” are now “specialist newborn photographers” often with out any training or experience and trying to replicate our style and props, I am pleased to say failing miserably tho   Photography is an art that takes years to practise and I believe newborn photography is one of the most difficult to get right which is why there are only a handful of us great newborn photographers about who photograph your babies in a comfortable, clean and safe environment. Quality always will shine through. Sue and I continually push the boundaries of creativity and innovation to deliver the best possible experience for our clients. We’re always looking for ways to take what we do and do it even better. Over the past few years, we’ve devoted considerable time and resources to create a more immersive, more seamless and more personal experience for each and every client who spends time with us.

We offer a selection of watch me grow packages as you will see from the links below and like with Allie and David we always take a lovely selection of cherished photos of the whole family.  Both Matthew and Jonathan had only just gotten over chicken pox on our shoot so apart from some careful editing we also had to cope with the gorgeous Matthew not being as smiley as normal but I am sure you will agree that these are adorable photos.

Advances in Neonatal medicine have realised incredible improvements in survival rates – in 1975, half of all babies born weighing less than 1.5kg (3.3 lbs) died. Compare that to today where over 90% of premature babies weighing 800g or more (equivalent to a bag of sugar) survive.

Over the same period the pressures on Neonatal care have spiralled due mainly to the expanding population of the UK and an increase in multiple births as fertility treatment has improved. With NHS budgets being continually squeezed there is a real and tangible need for public donation and support for neonatal care.

The Ickle Pickle Partnership turns gifts and donations from generous people into specialised equipment such as incubators and ventilators to help Neonatal units provide incredible levels of care for Ickle Pickles.

I am both proud and very pleased to be helping such a worthy charity,  here at Baby jp newborn photography we get our fair share of premature babies and some of them have been helped in a big way by Ickle Pickle so this charity really does effect us.

The Beans Noah and Florence

Kerry came for a baby bump shoot when she was expecting her twins then affectionately known as the Beans which has still stuck to this day  Well very unexpectedly a couple of days later the Beans were brought into this world at 33 weeks and received help from ickle pickle.  We met the Beans very early on but never really  got to photograph them until they were a year old,

Here is Noah and Florence, 2 beautiful full of life babies.

Jemma

Jemma’s Mummy and Daddy contacted up half way through there pregnancy to book Jemma in for a Baby jp newborn shoot but little did we know that Jemma would arrive at 36 weeks and a tiny 4lb 1oz  and she looked ever so tiny. But thanks to the fantastic care and to ickle pickle Jemma was soon home and yup to see us here at Baby jp Newborn photography in Southampton for her shoot.

Here is a photo of Jemma just after she was home from Hospital, like most of our babies we still keep in touch with Jemma’s Mummy and Daddy and I am pleased to say she is doing very well.

Kian

Kian was born 10 weeks early at 3lb 2oz and spent almost 7 weeks being looked after at the QA and Lisa tells me that the care was amazing,  It was Lisa (Kians Mummy) that inspired me to run  for Ickle Pickle and she was delighted that we have now chosen to support them for the whole of 2013.  Kian came to see us at Baby jp newborn photographer when he was a few months old and we had a lovely shoot,  I am very happy to say that he came back last week for his first birthday shoot and his “smash the cake shoot”
