Newborn’s body recovered at Burns Bog dump, mom (20) facing infanticide charge

It was a case so disturbing that Richmond RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Pound, heavily pregnant with her fourth child, had to fight off tears at a news conference Monday.

“You don’t have to be a parent to be disturbed by this,” she said. “It hits people on many levels.”

On Jan. 21, the woman delivered the baby in the bathroom of her boyfriend’s Richmond home while he slept on the couch, police said.

She told him she had miscarried, police said, and the two of them wrapped the baby in a towel, put him in a garbage bag and discarded the body in a dumpster at a nearby school.

Angelica Leslie Update

2 people have been arrested in connection to the abandonment of little Angelica Leslie in Toronto, earlier this year. This little girl was only 8 months old when left in a stairwell during freezing winter conditions.

Police are expected to release more information later today, and Angelica’s adoption is expected to continue.

Authorities in Texas expect to release a composite sketch of an unidentified child whose dead body was stuffed into a locked plastic container and found by a fisherman Monday night.

“Baby Grace,” as authorities have named the girl, suffered fractures to her skull that initially may have caused her death.

Mother of baby found in Wal-Mart washroom pleads not guilty

This is an update to the story of a baby boy, born and dumped into a toilet at a Saskatchewan Wallmart.

The mother’s name is being with held at this time. The baby boy is being cared for by the Lac La Ronge Indian Child and Family Services. The baby carries the mother’s last name, and mother and son have been reunited for short, supervised visits. It is believed the mother is over 18. She has stated her intent to take custody back of her son. A preliminary hearing will take place in February to determine if there is enough evidence to take her to trial.

Serial Baby Killer?

According to criminologists a serial killer is defined completing at least three murders with a cooling off period in between each.

Check out this mother: A 22 year old woman is under arrest for abandoning her newborn daughter to die in the back of a pick up truck. Digging further, investigators discovered she abandoned two other infants prior to this latest. Those previous two siblings were discovered in time and rescued. Lucky for mom, or else she might be looking at serial killing charges rather than two counts of child abuse and one of murder.

The 84th infant to be abandoned in Illinois

The little boy was found on the front porch of the private home of Walter Gniadek in August 2007. He was the 84th abandoned infant in the past 6 years in the state.Mr. Gniadek spoke with media saying , “I opened it (the door) slowly, I didn’t know who was out there, I’m scared. I opened the door nice and easy, I see the baby in the cradle with the bags and milk and everything- crying,” said Gniadek, who took the infant inside and called 911. Police and paramedics arrived within minutes.

“It had a note in Spanish. It said ‘Would you take care of my baby?'” said Gniadek.

Mr. Gniadek is a well known figure in his neighborhood for his compassion. Despite the appearance the mother put thought into choosing who to leave her new born with she did not choose to operate within the law. Illinois is one of the states that has baby safe surrender laws. In fact, there was a centre not more than a couple blocks from the Gniadek residence. Therefore she will not be protected under the law when or if she is found.
