Women who are about to become mothers for the first time may be quite giddy during the first few months of <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/category/pregnancy/"title="Pregnancy" >pregnancy. Just thinking of all the changes that will be happening to them in the coming months may even have them alternately crying and laughing like a crazy woman. In addition to these emotional roller coasters, there are also a lot of physical changes that are about to take place during the course of the pregnancy.

One of the issues that most women are concerned about regarding pregnancy is their growing belly. A lot of pregnant women are worried about what to wear and how they would look once they start to show. This is not really a cause for worry because there are so many fashionable but cheap <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/category/maternity/maternity-clothes/"title="Maternity Clothes" >maternity clothes online today that you can choose from. All you have to do is go on the Internet and take your pick. What’s really great about buying <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/cheap-maternity-clothes/"title="Cheap Maternity Clothes" >cheap maternity clothes online is that you don’t have to tire yourself by going to the mall to do your shopping, which can definitely be exhausting especially if you are pregnant.

Advantages of Shopping Online

Looking for cheap maternity clothes online is a lot easier and a lot faster than doing your shopping at the mall. With the extra pounds that you are carrying, and with your ankles that are beginning to swell, strolling at the mall won’t be as enjoyable as it was before. This is why most women really prefer shopping for cheap maternity clothes online. Besides, it is easier to get a better deal online simply by comparing prices across different websites. Some stores even offer free shipping and delivery for a reasonable minimum purchase, which should make for more savings.

A very useful tip to keep in mind when shopping for cheap maternity clothes online is to find pieces that can grow with you throughout your pregnancy. Since blouses and dresses with empire waists are back in fashion anyway, you can also use these as part of your maternity outfit, at least until the sixth or seventh month, during which you may have to switch to real maternity clothes.

It is also important to pay attention to the material of the clothes. Choose those that come in cotton or other types of cool fabric so that you will be comfortable even if you do experience hot flashes, which are common during pregnancy.

What sort of clothes do you like? Do you have any tips to share? If you do I would love to hear them in the comments below!

Have you ever heard the saying ‘it’s not like it used to be when I was a kid?’ That’s because children and adults, now seem to be perfectly content spending hours in front of a television, computer or video game.

Most kids never learn how to play Kick the Can, never hear their mothers complain about grass stains, and have forgotten how it feels to run through the sprinkler during summer vacation. In this era of technology, learn why outdoor play is crucial for children.

1) Builds Social Skills

When kids play outdoors, they are almost never alone, kids playing in the street seem to flock to each other. Children learn to work in teams, how to make decisions and be more tolerant of others. Most kids don’t pay attention to how much another kid makes, where they went to school or if they plan on opening a 401k plan, kids just want to play. When kids do play outdoors alone, they learn to be more independent, use their imagination and entertain themselves.

2) Combats Childhood Obesity

Children who play outdoors are exercising without even knowing it. Any kid will tell you that they would rather play tag or dodge ball for hours, than do jumping jacks or a timed mile run. Jumping rope, throwing water balloons, or just playing in the sand all burn more calories than sitting in front of the TV. The exposure to sunlight also combats depression and the desire to overeat.

When a child comes in from a hard day of play, they are more apt to crave juices, fruit or even cold tap water, more than a can of soda whereas sitting in front of the computer, they’ll probably grab the closest thing on hand.

3) Less Stress And Restlessness

Sometimes kids don’t realize they need to play outside. They could easily pass the entire day playing video games, but at night they can’t seem to sleep. Parents also need time without kids around, even if they are only 10 feet away on the front porch. When kids play outdoors, or even just sit outdoors, the fresh air wears them out faster and parents are less stressed when they have quiet time for themselves and a calmer child indoors.

Unfavorable Climate?

Some cities are just not conducive to outdoor play due to the weather or the location. Many schools, rec centers, and dance studios offer open gym periods. Even walking laps in a shopping mall can be a nice substitute every once in a while. If a child doesn’t seem to like the idea of playing alone or playing outside, parents should get out there and play with them! They can show their kids that they honestly were a child at one point in their life and can still play like one too.

Classic Red Wagon, Flyer 500 and Blaze Interactive Riding Horse Reviews

Sometimes you may have a brand of toy in mind, but which one do you choose? Here are a few of the popular Radio Flyer toys reviewed. The Classic red Wagon, Flyer 500 and the Blaze Interactive Riding Horse.

We’ll start of with the red wagon. A popular toy for decades! What started off as a simple toy wagon way back in the 1920’s has almost become an American childhood tradition. The Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon is quite simply a must have for all young children who like to play around in the garden and outdoors. The iconic wagon has an all steel seamless red body that has no scratch edges, an extra-long handle for maneuvering and driving, and steel wheels with rubber tires.

What makes the Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon unique is that, unlike many toys that grab children’s attention, the Radio Flyer Wagon is often an impulse purchase by parents who fondly remember their own Classic Red Wagon from when they were growing up. Suitable for all ages, the Classic Red Wagon was introduced into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 1999, and despite being on the go for more than 70 years it’s showing no signs of slowing down yet.

Features Of The Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon

Iconic red wagon design

Extra-long handle, foldable for storage

Steel seamless body, safe and comfortable

No-pinch ball joint

Durable construction

Rubber tires fitted over steel wheels make for a quiet and comfortable ride

Inducted to the National Toy Hall of Fame in 1999.

Is The Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon Worth Buying?

Do you even have to ask? Whether you have a young child one or two years of age, or a slightly older toddler just starting school, the Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon is a must have toy. The construction hasn’t changed a whole lot in recent years, but the wagon has become more stable and more comfortable. The real rubber tires mean the Classic Red Wagon can no longer be heard trundling along from hundreds of meters away, and the extra-long handle mean turning is a more gentle process than it used to be.

The Classic Red Wagon has a timeless quality to it. As kids grow older, the wagon evolves and its purpose changes. While it originally may have been used to drag toys, food or shopping around the house and garden, as the children get older you may see them using their Classic Red Wagon as more of a trailer or wheelbarrow. It may even become a mode of transport for smaller children to be pulled along! Therein lies the beauty of the Classic Red Wagon – while you have the imagination, it remains a toy. Once you get older, it becomes a functional tool. This truly is a toy for all ages.

The one drawback of the Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon is something that parents may be disheartened to hear; the Classic Red Wagon is no longer made in America. You can expect to see a “Made in China” sticker when you receive yours. While this may take away from the sentimentality of the Classic Red Wagon, it most certainly does not take away from its heritage.

Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 Review

The Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 is a toy car and race track suitable for children aged between 2 and 5 years. The car itself can either be used as a standard push car or with the included ramp and track. When using the ramp, children sit atop the race car at the summit of the ramp.

The ramp features a very gentle descent and track measuring 6 feet in total that allows the child to roll down and race off the end, providing endless entertainment for young children. The ramp and car store into the base unit when not being used, allowing the Flyer 500 to be easily stored or transported.

With a weight capacity of up to 50lbs, the Flyer 500 is a reasonably sturdy device, and the addition of the ramp to your standard push car toy makes it stand out above its peers for all the young budding Evel Knievel toddlers out there!

Features Of The Radio Flyer – Flyer 500

Car suitable for use on and off the track

Six foot track and ramp

Ramp and car can be stored in base unit

Weight capacity of up to 50 lbs

Solid build

Suitable for ages 2-5

Ramp can be used with other toys.

Is The Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 Worth Buying?

What makes the Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 stand out is the fact that you are effectively receiving two toys in one. When the car and ramp are used together, you have a gentle yet fun experience for young children that give them just the right amount of excitement. Inevitably, the car will be used without the ramp as a means of transportation all over the house, but it is well built and can withstand reasonably heavy usage.

The ramp will also be used as a standalone toy. You can expect to see children racing everything from miniature toy cars to marbles down the ramp, and it is quite likely to feature in all manner of playtime activities.

Although slightly large, the Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 does fold away nice and neatly. Both the car and ramp fit nicely into the base unit, meaning that the Flyer 500 can be stored in the bottom of a wardrobe, or transported to a friend’s house with minimal fuss.

Care should be taken when assembling and disassembling the ramp however, as over time the connections can become slightly worn down with extended heavy use. This is one of the very few drawbacks of the Radio Flyer – Flyer 500.

Radio Flyer Blaze Interactive Riding Horse Review

Children love toys that respond to their movements and actions, and the Radio Flyer Blaze Interactive Riding Horse stands out as one of the better interactive responsive toys on the market. The beautifully designed toy horse not only responds with suitable horse sounds, but has three levels of riding actions depending on the child’s speed.

Is The Radio Flyer Blaze Interactive Riding Horse Worth Buying?

Many of us will remember spending countless hours on rocking horses when we were young, and the sheer joy they provided. The Radio Flyer Blaze Interactive Riding Horse is simple the natural extension to this retro toy. Although very young children may be apprehensive about climbing on board at first, once you get them on it you will struggle to get them back off. The horse sounds vary depending on what action the child is performing, and all of them sound authentic.

Assembly is required, and it is not the simplest of tasks. It is recommended that if possible, you put aside around thirty minutes or so for a two man assembly. While this may seem excessive, the Blaze Riding Horse’s functionality more than makes up for the tricky assembly. Blaze requires 3 AA batteries to operate, so make sure you have these in stock before revealing Blaze to any excited children!

One of the most reassuring aspects of the Blaze Interactive Riding Horse is its safely constructed design. There are no sharp edges or moving parts that might pinch a small finger. The safety straps are secure yet comfortable, and the frame design allows children to mount and dismount Blaze without much assistance.

Conclusion

So have you made a decision? Here are our thoughts:

The Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon remains a kind of rite of passage for all young children today. This is one decision that makes itself for you. Click Here

If you are looking for a toy riding car for your young child, the Radio Flyer – Flyer 500 gives you that little bit extra. It isn’t cheap, but it’s well worth the money. Click Here

The Radio Flyer Blaze Interactive Riding Horse is not the cheapest interactive horse toy around, but its ergonomic design and multiple riding modes make it stand out against its peers. If you have a small child that in any way is fond of horses, this maybe the ideal toy for you. Click Here

Watching Our Kids Survive In The Backyard

Our backyards are so close to our homes that it’s easy to feel a false sense of security as our kids spend time playing there. However, there are a few important measures you should take if you want your kids to stay safe outside.

1. If you have an open backyard, the first thing you should do is enclose it with a fence. However unlikely it may be, it’s easier for your children to get kidnapped or stray far away when you have an open backyard. The fence doesn?t have to be fancy – a simple wire fence will do the trick if you can?t afford a sturdy one. Just be sure that the fence doesn’t have an opening big enough for your kids to climb through.

2. Have a pool in your backyard? Then be sure that your pool is fenced up, too. The fence should be more than 4 feet tall, and should be locked unless you are there to supervise your children while they swim. If you can afford it, install an alarm that’ll warn you if your children have entered the pool area after unlocking the fence. Also, it’s important to tell your children to stay away from the pool and explain the consequences if they don?t listen.

3. While BBQ grills are a very welcome addition to any yard, and are great for family gatherings, it’s best not to leave equipment lying around when not in use. Take apart and store away grills and other dangerous equipment like lawnmowers and tillers in locked up garden sheds or your garage when you’re not using them. We all know just how imaginative kids can be, and you never know when they might decide to use them as a toy!

4. Playground equipment in the backyard (if you have any) should be kept well-maintained at all times. Ensure that there are no sharp edges or hooks hanging out of any of the objects. Also, a proper shock absorber beneath the playground is a must (this can be 12 inches of sand, or a thick padding material of any kind) to break any falls.

5. Last but not least, the best way to prevent accidents when your kids are playing in the backyard is to keep a close eye on them. Always ensure that an adult is around to supervise the kids when they play. If you can?t watch them, it may be better to bring them inside the house to play.

Always bring a beloved blanket or toy for young children that are traveling. While most of the family views a vacation as a fun break, to a very young child it seems like a needless disruption of their normal day. Taking your child’s favorite soft toy or blanket with you will help your child to feel more at home and relaxed in a different location.

You must not give in to all of your child’s demands, especially if they are unreasonable. While treats and rewards are an important part of <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/category/parenting/"title="Parenting" >parenting, they should only be given at your discretion. You need to avoid a situation where the child thinks they can manipulate you emotionally.

Create a chart that will help your children visualize their accomplishments anytime you try to teach them something new. For example, if you divide a chart into 24 squares, you can fill one of the squares with a sticker each time your child completes the new task. Let your child know he will get a reward when the chart has been filled. This sort of chart works to keep your child motivated in order to achieve the reward.

You can get quality baby items without spending a small fortune on them. You can buy high-quality versions of these sorts of items at department stores. Another option would be to seek out hand-me-downs from friends and family.

A good way to do make sure this is completed is to have a yearly savings plan, and make sure you meet it. Guardians should resist dipping into the child’s savings, as it could become a bad habit, and it is hard to replace the money.

If you’d like to be a great parent, one thing you must do is to listen to your children. Give them the ability to talk to you and learn about things that interest them. This is a great way to lay the foundation for the future. If your children feel comfortable talking to you about trivial things, they will be able to talk to you when serious matters arise.

Don’t push your child into anything before they are ready, such as potty training or walking, simply because their older sibling did it when they were a certain age. Every child is unique, so pushing one before they’re ready could further delay when they’ll actually be ready.

This article should give you a good start on your way to becoming a good parent. Just keep in mind that no one’s parenting experience is quite the same. There is no particular parenting style that is the “correct way.” Use common sense when you aren’t sure which parenting tactic you will use. Try to appreciate every bit of time as a parent because, before you know it, they won’t be children anymore.

Here are a few more tips to helping decide on your own parental skills. Every one is different and every one has different ideas. So try a few of these and see which ones you feel happy with. Children should know that life can sometimes be difficult and the trials should be met head on. Watching you and your partner solve problems will teach your children the correct ways to resolve their own. This helps them see the world realistically.

Becoming a step-parent means there is a long road ahead of you before you will be accepted. The child may blame you for their parents’ separation. Take your time and don’t rush things, so that any stepchildren can take their time getting to know you and feeling comfortable with you.

Do not put your child down at any time, and especially not while you are disciplining them. This type of verbal lashing out is not beneficial to your child’s behavior or attitude. You should instead focus on using positive, encouraging words to elicit the desired behavior.

As your child begins to make new friends, it is possible that he or she may adopt some inappropriate phrases and words from other children. It is important that he is made aware as soon as possible that the words are not appropriate and that they should not be used as part of the family boundaries. Always pull your child into a quiet place for correction, so that you won’t embarrass or humiliate him around his peers.

If you adopt a child, prepare yourself to answer questions as your child gets older and wants to know more about the adoption. Many children that are adopted become curious about their birth family. When they have questions about this, they will expect you to provide them with some answers. They will resent you if you do not tell them the truth about where they came from.

When teaching young children about something new, chart their accomplishments. For instance, a four row chart with seven columns can provide space for stickers anytime your child performs the new task on a given day. When the chart has a sticker in every square, reward your child. A chart provides a visual reminder for your child of his accomplishments thus far. Knowing there is a reward available will keep him motivated.

Taking your toddler to the bathroom every two hours should be a part of your potty training strategy. Toddlers don’t always let you know in time that they have to use the bathroom because they are still learning to communicate this. Think of this as a way of avoiding incidents. It’s easy for a busy toddler to forget to take a bathroom break.

Being interested in making your <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/category/parenting/"title="Parenting" >parenting skills better shows you already have interest in improving; this article will give you practical advice to help boost your confidence. No matter what stage of parenting you are in, you can always learn new parenting information.

Choose your battles. You don’t want to fight with your child over everything, so chose the most crucial items that need addressing. Children do need structure, but too much structure can be stifling.

If your child has a behavioral condition such as ADHD, you will do well to keep them busy. Children dealing with these types of issues have a huge amount of excess energy. If you want to prevent them from acting out, it is important to keep them occupied. Make sure your child has regular daily activities that help release excess energy.

If you want to avoid getting your children too cranky and bored, then periodically make travel stops. The longer distance that you travel, the more stops you should make. Although people may want to reach a destination quickly, children will be easier to deal with when they can run off steam. You can stop by a park, a restaurant or a rest area, and allow the children to run around and get out some of their bottled up energy.

Set aside some of your toddler’s toys so that you can begin rotating them in and out of circulation. Except for a few select items, small kids often become uninterested in individual toys quickly. By taking out some of their forgotten toys from the bottom of their toy chest, you can keep their interest.

Toddlers should not be given any kind of soda. Try sticking with drinks that provide your baby with vitamins or nutrients, such as warm or cold milk, sugar-free juices, and water.

When disciplining your child, you will want to avoid words that could be considered belittling. These words will not help behavior improve. As an alternative, try to use kind, loving words of encouragement as well as praise for good behavior. This will inspire him to want to please you.

Kids by nature want to be independent, giving them tasks to perform while you clean around the house can help them gain confidence. For example, you could allow your young child to hand you some dishes out of the dishwasher when unloading it. When putting the laundry away, have your child sort one pile of socks. These things will help them to feel they are being helpful, and will also help them to feel independent.

Teaching your child organization skills will be easier if you offer specific areas for his belongings. Your child’s toys will be everywhere if you do not instill the right organizational skills in him or her from the beginning. Children love to learn, so if you teach them how to put his things away properly, they will be able to do it themselves after playing with them.

Take care of your teeth when pregnant. An increase in <a href="http://babiesandmothers.com/category/pregnancy/"title="Pregnancy" >pregnancy hormones can make your gums bleed and swell when you floss and brush your teeth. You should brush your teeth with a toothbrush with soft bristles and still keep on flossing, but in a gentler way.

A doula can be a very helpful support system for pregnant women. What’s a doula? It’s a person who works to support a woman through her pregnancy, especially as she gives birth. Your doula will work to make sure all your wishes for your birth are met, and she can give you the emotional support you need throughout your pregnancy.

Invest some time in composing a written birth plan. This should include the things that you expect others to do for you while you are delivering your baby. Have your bag ready well before the big day and include your birth plan as well as any paperwork you need. Don’t forget the camera and an outfit for your baby’s trip home.

When pregnant, never use salicylic acid for treating acne. It’s proven to exfoliate skin and clean it deeply, but it’s also known to harm unborn children in the womb. You can switch to a milder cleanser to treat your acne and control breakouts.

Pregnant women need to be as stress-free as they can be. Not only will stress cause a lot of different problems for the woman, but it could also cause stress to the baby. Premature birth is a possible result of excessive stress in a mother.

Keeping a detailed pregnancy diary can be very therapeutic. A great thing to give a child when they are older is your pregnancy journal. Share your happy feelings, humorous events and dreams of your child’s future. Your memories will make a very special gift to give to your child.

Make sure you are getting enough iron during your pregnancy. Iron deficiency can cause severe fatigue for the mother and low birth weight for the baby. Your prenatal vitamin should include iron, and you should supplement it with iron-rich foods.

Be careful about pressures on your body when you sleep during pregnancy. Provide your body with the necessary support. You can find various body pillows specifically designed for those who are pregnant at a number of stores. At worst, use a head pillow in place of a body pillow. Place one pillow beneath your stomach and another under your knee for maximum support.

You should start massaging your belly near the end of the second trimester. Rest against two pillows on a bed or couch so that your body is in a comfortable position. Use oil, not lotion, and massage your belly using light pressure. Breathe deeply to the sounds of some soothing music as you gently massage. This helps to soothe your baby and to keep you relaxed as well.

Being pregnant can stress you out if you do not know what to expect. It is important to learn about pregnancy for your sake, as well as the sake of your baby. Hopefully, the information provided in this article will help you to have a smooth and enjoyable pregnancy.

Fischer Price Learning Home

Many parents are raving about this toy, so I have provided you with a Fisher Price Learning Home Review. The Fisher Price Learning Home has been designed to provide children with hours of learning fun, including electronic elements, music, activities and more. So why are parents raving about this toy and will it stand the test of time?

Fisher Price Learning Home Features

Two-sided playhouse with an outdoor side and an indoor side

Both sides feature a range of activities including sounds, music, switches, dials and more

Helps to teach kids counting, colors, shapes, numbers, letters and more

Dimensions: 29 x 22 x 32 inches

Requires 3 C batteries (not included)

Recommended for ages one to three.

Is The Fisher Price Learning Home Worth Buying?

The thing that impresses parents most about the Fisher-Price Learning Home is the fact that it comes with so many different features for your baby to explore, which helps them learn in so many different ways. There are two main learning modes: learning time for learning the alphabet and more, or music mode for singling along with 21 songs.

Some examples of activities include the shape sorter which helps baby to learn about colors and shapes, or the spinning house numbers that teach about numbers and counting. Different children will always take to different activities, so the fact that there are so many new elements to explore in the one toy will help to keep a child’s interest for a lot longer.

The Learning Home is designed to grow with your child, and can be explored by babies until around the age of three (though older kids may still enjoy it). There are always new things for them to learn, and the durable design means that it can take any treatment your child is likely to give it.

Thanks to the fact that the Learning Home has two sides – indoors and outdoors – it’s also perfect for siblings and friends to play with together without getting in each other’s way. It also helps to boost creativity as kids use the house as a setting for a wide variety of imaginative situations.

As for putting the Learning Home together, the instructions make things very easy. You’ll need to make sure you have 3 C batteries, however, as these aren’t included. Once set up, it’s easy to move from one room to the other if you need it.

The main downside to the Fisher-Price Learning Home is the fact that it does come at a cost. However, a toy like this should really be seen as an investment for your child: it will grow with them and provide them with a huge range of activities to keep them learning and having fun at the same time.

Fun Easter Toy Ideas

Are you tired of putting chocolates and candy in your children’s Easter baskets every year? Then it’s time to change things up! Instead of edibles, you can opt to fill their baskets with toys instead. And what are the best kinds of toys to put in? Easter-themed toys, of course! If you need some more specific ideas, here are some excellent Easter toys that you can put in your kids Easter baskets this year.

Toy Egg Sets

You can find these sets in pretty much any toy store towards Easter time, though you may find a greater variety when shopping online. These egg sets can be used for hiding on Easter day, and give your kids hours of egg-hunting fun! And they’re easier on the teeth, too, since they aren’t made of chocolate! Of course, you can use a selection of toy and chocolate eggs if you still want to give your kids a treat, but don’t want them to overindulge.

Toy Bunny

Bunnies are everywhere during Easter, and they really have become the typical Easter image. If you want to give your children a gift that they can hold on to for a long time, and bring out each and every Easter, a toy bunny should do the trick.

If you want to buy a real bunny instead, think long and hard about whether you’ve really got the time or space to take care of it. A toy bunny will be a lot less hassle in the long run.

Finger Puppets

Easter day is a time to spend with family, so crafts are always welcome in any Easter basket. Why not buy the materials for your kids to create some Easter-themed finger puppets, and then put on a show for the family once they’re done? You can even include materials to make a puppet stand in the basket, if you have the budget to do so, but a box or a tablecloth will work just as well!

Small Musical Instruments

In the same vein as the idea above, why not include some simple musical instruments in the basket, such as tambourines and maracas? These complement the puppet show perfectly: your kids can put on an Easter show complete with music! These instruments are another excellent way to encourage creativity in kids, but bear in mind that they can get slightly irritating after a few hours!

Whatever you ultimately choose to put in your kids’ Easter baskets, activities that they can enjoy with their siblings, cousins, friends and parents are always a great way to encourage real bonding on Easter day.
