Baby Swags is going to be celebrating it's second birthday on September 9th, 2008. We have helped over 100 companies take a leap into celebrity gifting at an affordable rate. Many of the companies that have sought the help of Baby Swags have been in business one year or less and have been started by work at home moms, aka WAHM's. We have gifted over 300 celebrities through individual giftings and larger event giftings. All products included have been created and/or invented by mom making our giftings unique in itself.

With our growth comes changes and expansion. As of September 1, 2008 we will be supplying our client as well as our celebrity Baby Swags followers with many new additions. Our immediate plans will include the following:

* Providing our fellow WAHM's and readers with tips and information on marketing your home based business on a shoe string budget.

* Product Reviews for all members of the family. These reviews will be broken down into different categories that will allow us to provide readers with targeted product information. Our categories will include, Belly Bags that will contain products for the expecting mom such as maternity wear, creams and jewelry, etc... We will have a category for books, daddy's, the older child and siblings, Nursery & Decor and General Gifts, such as candles and sweet treats. Product reviews are open to any company that is looking to further their businesses.

* We will provide our readers with various monthly giveaways that will most likely be those that have been posted as a review. These items for giveaway will total $25.00 or more and will be sent to winners directly from the designer/manufacturer. More information will come soon

* Radio shows that will consist of WAHM interviews, chats with guest speakers, business advice, weekly call ins and more.

* YouTube video's of various events will be uploaded and shared. Now you can get a behind the scenes look at what many of us WAHM's do on a daily basis.

* Newsletter for those that are interested in the products that celebrity new moms have been sent, sales and different offers that are made available only to our newsletter subscribers.

* And finally expand our levels of marketing and pr for clients that will include extra services for trade and consumer shows that Baby Swags participates in, such as LA Baby Expo, product pitching and press releases.

Overall we will be adding extra levels of security for confidential information that will require clients and potential clients to sign a confidentiality agreement that is based on ethical guidelines as stated in our code of ethics pledge.

Baby Swags Teams up with Work At Home Moms

Baby Swags is a marketing & pr firm that specializes in promoting juvenile and maternity related products that are or have been created/inspired by work at home moms. Life As a WAHM

My businesses are not hobbies. To me, both of them I chose as a way to earn income, and they give me a sense of pride while I try to make each one a success.

I have three kids, home all day long…I have two home based businesses, plus household responsibilities. The only and I have to stress ONLY time that is quiet enough to do any sort of business, sewing included, is at night. Last I checked, there is only one of me and not any one around that I can ask to sew, or make phone calls to clients, or answer 25 different emails a day, go grocery shopping for me, clean my house, watch my kids, run my errands, etc…

Could it be different, sure, however I don’t have the financial stability yet to delegate responsibilities to other people such as hiring contract sewers, maid services, pt- employees, or even a baby sitter for that matter, but I am willing to make these sacrifices now to reap the rewards later. So, I am up late. Always stayed up late, even when I was younger. Not a morning person, never was. I’d rather stay up till 3 than get up at 5 or 6. That is just me. Yet, even during all of this, I still get up with my kids, feed them, wash them, take care of them, run errands, make dinners, clean the best I can, go out to lunches, hang out with my mom, go shopping, take kids to play dates and out to movies. I can even make time to spend with my husband and the kids on the weekends for our family time which is usually spent going out for breakfast or to the movies or bowling, or my favorite, taking a ride to Naperville, Illinois riverwalk in the summer, bringing a lunch, having a picnic, walking to the park, feeding the ducks along the way and just being together as a family.

Is it all worth it you ask? Heck yeah! I get to stay home with my kids, enjoy their younger years even though at some point through out the course of the day I am ready to pull my hair out with my youngest coloring on the walls, my son crying because he can’t figure something out on a video game, or my oldest daughter complaining that she is bored. My solutions? Mr. Clean for the walls, explaining to my son that just as in any area of life, the more you practice the better you become, so keep trying, you will figure it all out. To my oldest, lets get the craft supplies and make bracelets, or paint on the canvas, or even lets do makeovers on each other! The best feeling in the world is when you hear your child say they want to be just like you, and have their own businesses and websites, etc… I about cried when I heard my oldest tell her friend that. Makes me proud and then I know I am raising a daughter who will be a go-getter, one who will not be afraid to try different things, one that is not afraid to fail because if she does, she knows it will only make her stronger. I am her hero. That is the best job ever!

Quiet time is night time for me. The kids are in bed, my husband is sleeping and the house is a peaceful place once again. I listen to my late night shows while I work and even welcome my clients calling at night so I can talk to them with out listening to kids asking a million questions at one particular moment, as soon as my phone rings!

So yeah, there may be a few more things that do not sound so appealing to some, but those do not out weigh the good things. I am doing what I love, and doing it in my pajamas!

Bruchetta Salad

With all the parties I have been having and/or going to, I needed to have different appetizers and things to bring, etc... My mom made this bruchetta salad for me once and ever since, it has been a favorite of my family so I feel the need to share it with you. Recipe is very simple.

Ingredients:
Tomatoes
Parmesan Cheese
Olive Oil
Basil
Salt
Pepper
French Bread
Butter
Garlic salt

First you need to make garlic bread. Take your french bread and lather with butter, then sprinkle some garlic salt & parmesan cheese on top. Toast or broil until crunchy.

Cut tomatoes into larger chunks. Mix with salt, pepper and olive oil *just enough to coat*, and basil. Cut french bread into chunks and mix into tomato mixture. Lastly add chopped parmesan cheese and stir all together. Let stand for about 20 minutes to get the juices going to where it gets soaked up by the garlic bread.

Then season again until it reaches your satisfaction.

It is the simplest, yummiest bruchetta salad recipe ever. We will eat this over a regular green garden salad any day!

Being a work at home mom, it is important to help other work at home moms when they need it, support others by being there to answer questions, offer advice and "Share" tips and do's and don'ts' of business. We will get so much more in return if we just learn to 'share' what we have. There is enough of everything for everyone. There are enough customers, there are enough babies to utilize the products we make, and there is enough money to go around.

Sharing, it is something that we have all tried to teach our children. We teach them to share their toys, share their feelings, share their hearts, and if we are able to teach that to our children, why is it so hard for us as adults to share our knowledge? I am not saying give away all your secrets, but I am suggesting that if someone asks you a general business question, take a moment and offer your best advice, share what you have learned through your own personal trials and errors. It will only come back to you full force when you are stuck in a situation that you need assistance with. Think about it.

Meet another family member

It was a gift for a combination of reasons. Mother's Day gift, Father's Day gift, Anniversary gift, or a 10th birthday gift...either way he is a gift to us and I am so thrilled to announce that I am a proud mommy to Koda, short for Dakoda. He is a 9.5 week Golden Retriever pup and is as cute as can be. It shocks me that I would agree to this when we have one cat, two fish, three children, and now a dog! LOL

Oh the fun of having a puppy!!! Now I really can't wait to start reviewing pet products and planning the pet gifting event! :)

Yes, this is my 3 year old daughter jamming out to Stevie Ray Vaughan in the van. She loves to play (although it is really my son playing) guitar hero, so she stands in front of the tv doing her moves and playing her air guitar. She cracks me up. She is far from a girly girl, so I picture her wearing all black, grunge clothes and skateboarding down the streets of Plainfield. Gotta love her individuality!

LA Baby Expo 2009

I have all the information available for those interested in participating in the 2009 LA Baby Expo with Baby Swags.

Baby Swags is going to be reserving some booths and would love to have your company participate in this event with some of our clients. Booths will be shared and we have some incentives for taking part with us.

Offering Free Product Reviews

As a new service to our clients, we are going to start posting our reviews of your products. The reviews will only be done if your product passes our extensive review procedures. We look at a number of things when considering your product for our basket inclusions, such as quality, cost, packaging, marketing materials supplied, shipping wait time, use, safety and overall image. If your product fails to meet those requirements, your review will not be posted, however we will notify you by email to offer some suggestions that may be beneficial to you if you wish to offer your products to an upscale market. Of course you don't have to take the suggestions if you don't want to.

Gifting is not just for babies any more. Baby Swags is expanding their services to include the entire family

Baby Swags helps promote baby products that are received by new and expecting celebrity moms. They like to see their clients have their own spotlight shining on them. Baby Swags puts VIP, celebrity gift bags, event bags together using only the finest baby products on the market. The products that are accepted are high quality, trendy, hip, and more often, quite unique.

In the beginning, back in September 2006, Baby Swags only accepted products that were either invented, inspired or created by moms, AKA, WAHM's. Times have changed. Baby Swags has come a long way and it is time now to expand their services to include any and all products that are family friendly while still possessing the same high standards for quality and uniqueness. It may throw people off by using the same name, especially since it has the word, "baby" in it. However, they have built their business on reputation and nothing but word of mouth, and that is our reasoning for keeping their business name the same, and expanding on it. People have come to know Baby Swags and what it represents and they do not want that to change.

Baby Swags provides companies with a way to get their products to celebrities at a cost that is affordable. If any research is done, you will discover that it can be very costly to participate in gifting suites and lounges and while that has it's benefits, some just cannot afford that price tag. Even though Baby Swags is expanding, they say they will not be raising their inclusion fees at this time. Not to say it won't ever happen because in all reality, it most likely will. Baby Swags still wants to be able to provide companies the opportunity to get those products to celebrities while maintaining and continuing to build their credibility.

In addition to gifting, they will be starting an advertising group which will offer print advertising at a lower rate to all their clients that will get your ads placed in national magazines and various publications. To participate in this new advertising group, you will need to have a minimum advertising budget of $1000.00 per month. LA Baby 2009 Information

I wanted to give you a little information on the 2009 LA Baby Expo and some preliminary pricing. We still have quite a bit of time, but it does go by fast, and when you are preparing products for over 20,000 people to see, it can be quite stressful.

As I mentioned earlier, I learned a lot from doing that one show and I now know some changes I would like to make and need to make to insure that everyone has a great turn out.

For the booth location, it was an island location and not having any backdrops was a challenge, so for that reason, I am opting to do either 2 corner booths and 2 inline booths or 4 inline booths. Each booth will be shared with another company and you will have the backdrop to hang any signs you may have.

I am going to say right now because I don't have the final cost but it will be any where from $970.00 (at the low end) to $1100.00 (high end) per company depending on the booth location. Please note that this price may change and a breakdown will be available once I get the final info from Seascape. That would cover the booth & any PR done by me.

There will be a giveaway each day that would require products and I will be there to help in any way I can. You will be listed in the LA Baby Expo directory under your own name.

You are responsible for the purchase or bringing in of your own tables, chairs, and drapes. The draping I would like to coordinate, but that can all be discussed at a later time. You will receive all that information from the Convention group handling the expo. Last year was around $100.00 for a table, two chairs, draping and garbage can.

If this is something that is of interest, I would need to have a deposit of 50% to hold your spot, and the balance will have to be paid I believe by the end of the year.

Any questions, please let me know. It will only be open right now to 7 more companies and if needed we will open more booths up to accommodate the new companies. Of course since this is all preliminary information, things can and will most likely change, but it is done so to give you an idea of cost, what is involved, and what will be exected. Father's Day Gifting

We are looking for products for dad! We are gifting a very special soon to be dad this year and he will hold the title of being our First Father's Day gifting recipient! I cannot tell you who just yet, we need to hear from you first!

If you have a product for dad, shirts for dad, anything related to the outdoors, grilling products, motorcycle, bike, gym shoes, cologne, anything that a man would love, we want.

2009 LA Baby Expo call for Participants

This past April we were lucky enough to gather some clients and head to LA to attend the LA Baby Expo. It was our first time out and it was a fun time for us. We learned a lot, and will enjoy the growth process as we continue to familiarize ourselves with the Expo arena.
