I found this information in Facebook, thought of sharing.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
.
Let's say it's 6.15pm and you're going home (alone of course),
after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!!

NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE..

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

Tell as many other people as possible about this.
Party chief Bal Thackeray had made his intentions perfectly clear in a statement issued in Mumbai. "Come what may, we will not allow the show. Don't issue law and order (disruption) threats to us. Shiv Sena will disrupt the TV show."

The party wants the two Pakistanis among the 14 participants on the show to be expelled immediately. The fourth season of the show, based on the international Big Brother, is hosted by Salman Khan. Guests from across the border are Begum Nawazish Ali, a transvestite talk show host from Karachi, and actor Veena Malik, who is Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif's ex-girlfriend.

"To bring people from Pakistan just to titillate audiences is terrible. Till our relations with Pakistan improve, these people should not be brought here to entertain us,'' says Uddhav Thackeray, Executive President of the Sena.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

Swiss banks to reveal names once India okays treat : finally its out

The government of Switzerland would be ready to reveal the names and bank account details of Indians who have stashed away billions of dollars of black money in Swiss banks once the Indian Parliament ratifies the revised Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement that was recently signed between the two countries.

This was stated by Tarun Vijay, Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson and Member of Parliament, in a statement on Wednesday.

He said that in 'the first-ever move to contact the Swiss government directly' to disclose have the names of Indians who have salted away unaccounted for money in Swiss banks, he met Christa Markwalder, president, Foreign Affairs Committee (Presidentin Aussenpolitische Kommission des National Rats) of the Swiss Parliament on October 5 in Zurich.

The BJP national spokesperson said that Markwalder was happy to learn about the BJP's interest in this matter, and added, "We have already signed a protocol about it with the Indian government recently and I was in India for that. I met your Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and gave all the details about how the matter can be resolved to India's satisfaction," she said.

Markwalder said, "We too are eager to have the treaty ratified by the Indian Parliament so that the curtain on the Indians' accounts in Swiss banks can be raised. We want the credibility of the Swiss government protected and enhanced in the eyes of the world."

The issue of Indians having secret Swiss bank accounts is a political hot potato and was a poll plank during last year's general elections.

Swiss banks had said that exchange of information would be based on Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development norms. Paris-based OECD sets the international tax standards.

Switzerland is entering into revised tax pacts with many countries in accordance with OECD's Model Tax Convention, to facilitate the bilateral exchange of information related to bank account details of tax evaders.

Markwalder added that the Swiss government was under pressure from G-20 nations to have the names of black money stashers revealed in order to help the economies of many countries. "That is why we are pushing the agenda," she said.

India and Switzerland on August 30, 2010 signed the revised Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, a move that is expected to help the Indian government seek details about illicit wealth allegedly stashed away by Indians in Swiss banks.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey signed the revised pact in New Delhi.

"The revised Double Taxation Agreement contains provisions on the exchange of information in accordance with the OECD standard, which were negotiated in line with the parameters decided by the (Swiss) Federal Council," the Swiss Federal Department of Finance (FDF) said in a statement.

However, Tarun Vijay expressed surprise that the United Progressive Alliance government has remained "tight lipped over how and when this protocol would be ratified in the Indian Parliament".

He said that BJP, India's largest opposition party, was anxious to have the procedure completed soon and hoped that the Indian government would ratify the treaty soon in the coming session of Parliament. "The BJP will work to get this done," he affirmed.

He added that he had given the details of the black money issue to Markwalder and impressed upon her the importance of why it was imperative for India 'to get back the black money stashed in Swiss banks by Indians'.

Reportedly, more than $1.4 trillion (Rs 62 lakh crore) of Indian black money has been illegally hoarded in various Swiss banks.
Pay palimony
- Court for contract to protect deserted live-in pal

New Delhi, Oct. 4: If you have deserted your pal (partner), pay palimony, the Supreme Court said today, strongly advocating the need to develop such a concept in India.

Hearing a case involving a couple from Tamil Nadu, a bench of Justices Markandey Katju and T.S. Thakur asked: “Why should we not develop such a concept in our country?”

A California court had developed the concept in the Marvin versus Marvin case, involving American actor Lee Marvin and his partner. His partner of several years took him to court seeking “rehabilitation payments” after the relationship was over.
That's the standard refrain when women want to avoid doing something they don't like! Illustration: Uttam Ghosh

Scientists have proven that women frequently use their sex as a get-out clause for everything from crying to their failure to take the bins out.

A survey found that 88 per cent of respondents had used their sex as an excuse at some point, while more than half admitted they did so regularly.

Driving was the most common scenario, with 67 per cent blaming their poor parking on being a woman, reports the Daily Mail. More than half of women blamed their gender on their inability to catch spiders in the bath -- while slightly fewer than half used it to avoid carrying heavy items.

The news follows Katie Price's [ Images ] admission in court last week that she had swerved while driving her pink horsebox because she was a 'typical woman driver'.

The top ten situations in which women are likely to use their gender as an excuse:

Parking the car (67 per cent of women polled)
Catching insects (56 per cent)
Carrying heavy items (48 per cent)
Opening Jars (40 per cent)
Avoiding confrontation (35 per cent)
DIY (28 per cent)
Taking the rubbish out (19 per cent)
Sporting performance (15 per cent)
Navigation (11 per cent)
Crying (6 per cent)

Sarah Heath, of MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, said, "Whilst it was surprising to find just how many women do use the excuse, it's important to bear in mind that the majority admitted to doing so in a 'jokey' manner."
It said, one should not miss the opportunity in investing PSU share offerings.

``Coal India is scheduled to open on Oct. 18, 2010. Don`t Miss the opportunity this time if you have missed till date,`` it said.

Important points worth considering

PSU offering is fancied by retail investors: ``Unlike the general belief, history proves that PSU IPO`s have always left something on the table for retail investors to cheer upon. On listing day; 94% of PSU offering have generated positive returns. On comparison with total issues; 63% of total issues have provided positive returns. Moreover, PSU offers generally provide special discount for retail investors (usually 5%); which is an added attractive proposition of PSU share offerings.``

Listing day gains are on anvil as against general belief: ``It is worth noticing, that although returns have not been exorbitant, a majority of offering have provided over 10% listing gains (17 out of 26 companies) with 10 companies managing over 20% listing gains which are not mediocre by any means. ``

Shield against significant erosion on listing day, thus a safe bet in volatile market conditions: ``Thirdly, investors have not been subjected to significant wealth erosion even for those PSU offerings which did not perform up to the expectations. 2 PSU offerings experienced negative returns; however investors have suffered less than 10% wealth erosion.``

``To sum it up, PSU offerings not only offer listing gains but also shield investor wealth against any significant erosion. Thus, unlike the general belief that PSU offerings do not offer much on listing day,`` it stated.

Short term pain; long term gain: ``It is important to notice that of the 3 companies with negative returns as on today; all of the 3 companies have tapped the market during the last 13.

Safeguards investor wealth: ``There were 3 companies which are reporting negative returns post listing till date. However, it is worth noticing that neither of the companies has reported over 12% price erosion and all of these 3 companies have offered shares in the last 13 months. Thus, investor wealth is safeguarded against any significant volatility and also provides a sense of security considering the holding entity is none other than GoI. Hence, based on our study above, even these 3 companies (NHPC, SJVN and NMDC) could potentially deliver good returns over the medium to long term as has been the case with other PSU offerings.``

``To sum it up, if investors hold on to PSU offerings, history suggests that probability of multiplying their returns is significantly high. Moreover, such offering also safeguards investor wealth, and provides sense of security as being offered by the GoI,`` it said.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

Reliance Industries

India's largest gas producer Reliance Industries may be sitting on yet another gold mine - its block D4. RIL's partner Niko Resources , which owns 15 per cent in the block located on the east coast of India, has raised initial estimates of gas reserves in D4. RIL is the operator of the block with 85 per cent.

Canada-based Niko Resources' chairman and CEO Edward S Sampson has told investors in a conference recently "We feel it's the twice the size of D6 and has prospectivity of up to an exceeding potential for 100 Tcf gas. It would change India and with 15% it would markedly change Niko"

When contacted, Reliance Industries said "The appraisal process is presently being undertaken and we cannot offer any comment." But company sources tell ET NOW that the drilling in the block is expected to begin only by the last quarter of this financial year or early next financial year. The gas reserve of 100 Tcf at D4 is an initial estimate and how much gas from D4 can actually be commercially exploited will only be determined once the drilling begins.

When asked about what this news means for Reliance Industries, Choksey Securities MD Deven Choksey said "It is too early to ascribe a value to these estimates in D4. But even if gas production in the block is three to four years away, it could bring on upside of Rs 45 per share on sum of parts (SOTP) basis to RIL stock."

Oberoi Realty Ltd. (ORL) an esteemed brand and leading real estate developer primarily operates in Mumbai. Backed by suave brand and successful track record; ORL has successfully completed 33 projects and developed 5.02 mn sq. ft. of saleable area since its incorporation in 1983.

ORL plans to complete 24 projects (20.3 mn sq. ft.) over the next 3-5 years. This is approx. 4 times of its completed work till date and will significantly contribute to company’s profitability and cash flows going forward. Considering ORL focuses on premium projects, margins are expected to remain high backed by strong pricing.

Despite experiencing severe downturn over past 2 years, ORL’s Balance Sheet (BS) has remained stealthy. This can be gauged from the Zero debt Status and strong cash position on its BS as on 30 June 10. Moreover, ORL can leverage its BS to take advantage of favorable business cycles and market opportunities unlike its several peers which are still reeling under debt overhang. Moreover, all of ORL’s development sites which are owned are fully paid for, which mitigates one of the primary risks involved in project development.

In Jan 2007, SSIII (Co. owned by real estate fund advised by wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley) invested Rs 6,750 cr in ORL for a stake of 10.76% in the company.

CRISIL has graded the IPO 4/5 which indicates above average fundamentals relative to industry.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

Career Point Infosystems Ltd

Career Point was incorporated to impart quality education to students preparing for various competitive examinations.

New Delhi: India and Russia are set to sign a preliminary agreement for a co-development and manufacturing programme for a fifth generation fighter aircraft that is slated to become this country's biggest-ever defence project. The programme will eventually see outlays in excess of $25 billion for the induction of 250 advanced stealth fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA).

Based on a Russian design, from the Sukhoi design bureau, the FGFA (Indian designation) will be a very potent super-manoeuvrable, supersonic cruise, long-range strike and high-endurance air defence capable aircraft that will cost upwards of $100 million (Rs450 crore) per unit. This would, however, be almost half the price of the comparable American fifth generation F-22 Raptor, which, at last count, was costing the US exchequer about $185 million per unit.

The Russians are also confident that not only would the aircraft cost much less than its American counterpart but would also be far more capable.

The budget for the FGFA would also factor in the massive infrastructure that would need to be raised to base, operate and maintain such cutting-edge platforms in India.

The preliminary agreements are concerning the design aspects of the aircraft are likely to be signed when Russian president Dmitry Medvedev visits Delhi in December.

The project will also be taken up for discussion in talks between Indian defence minister AK Antony and his Russian counterpart Anatoly Serdyukov on 8 October.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

Aussie Wrestler showed middle finger to opponent

Australian wrestler Hassene Fkiri was disqualified Tuesday for making an obscene gesture to the judges in the Commonwealth Games 96kg Greco-Roman final, his coach said.

Fkiri, who would have picked up a silver medal, refused to shake hands with Anil Kumar after losing to his Indian opponent, and moments earlier had shown his middle finger to the judges.

Australian coach Kuldi Bassi said: "I didn't actually see anything myself but someone else told me he saw it.

"He's a very nice person normally. He's very good, win or lose. He wasn't unhappy at all (before the fight) -- he was happy to be representing his country.

Russian archaeologists have unearthed some ancient and virtually unknown settlements, which they believe were built by the original Aryan race about 4,000 years ago.
According to the team which has discovered 20 spiral-shaped settlements in remote Russia steppe in southern Siberia bordering Kazakhstan, the buildings date back to the beginning of the Western civilisation in Europe.
The Bronze Age settlements, experts said, could have been built shortly after the Great Pyramid, some 4,000 years ago, by the original Aryan race whose swastika symbol was later adopted by the Nazis in the 1930s.
TV historian Bettany Hughes, who explored the desolate part of the steppe for BBC programme ‘Tracking The Aryans,' said, “Potentially, this could rival ancient Greece in the Age of the Heroes.”

Unknown till now
The remains of the ancient city were explored for the first time around 20 years ago, shortly after the then-Soviet officials relaxed the laws banning non-military aerial photography.
But, as the region is so remote, the incredible cities remained unknown until now, the archaeologists said. The cities are about the same size as several of the city states of ancient Greece and would have housed between 1,000 and 2,00 people.
The Aryan's language has been identified as the precursor to a number of modern European tongues. Many English words such as brother, oxen and guest have all been tracked to the Aryans.

Swasika all over
Items that have been dug up at the sites include make-up equipment, a chariot, and numerous pieces of pottery.
The artefacts were daubed in Swastikas, which were used in ancient times as symbols of the sun and eternal life. The Swastika and Aryan race were later adopted by Hitler and the Nazis as symbols of their so-called master race.

Ancient texts unearthed

Evidence of ritual horse burials were found at the site, with ancient Aryan texts that describe the animals being sliced up and buried with their masters.

Ms. Hughes, a visiting research fellow at King's College London, said that ancient Indian texts and hymns described sacrifices of horses and burials and the way the meat was cut off and the way the horse was buried with its master.

“If you match this with the way the skeletons and graves are being dug up in Russia, they are a millimetre-perfect match.”

The 60-year-old actor drove to Thackeray's residence at 'Matoshree' in suburban Bandra and sought the Sena chief's blessings.

After meeting Thackeray, Rajinikanth compared the Sena chief to god. "He is like god to me," the actor said.

Rajini, who was born to Maharashtrian parents, also expressed his desire to act in Marathi films.

"Rajinikanth said he was 60-years-old and told the Sena chief that he too looked fit and healthy. To which Thackeray said he was 85," sources said.

The superstar, who was born Shivajirao Gaikwad into a humble Maharashtrian family, said he always wanted to meet Thackeray when in Mumbai.

"Balasaheb told the actor that he was most welcome at Matoshree," sources added.

"At the moment, we have sufficient orders for the next one-and-a-half to two years," Managing Director P C Kapoor said in an interview on Monday.

The company's current order book size is around Rs 5,000 crore, of which the unexecuted portion stands at Rs 2,000 crore.

Bharati Shipyard has planned a capex of around Rs 200 crore for FY12 to set up shipyards at Dabhol in Maharshtra and Mangalore in Karnataka.

He also said Great Offshore, an offshore services company in which Bharati holds a 49.73 per cent stake, is looking to raise $150-$200 million in three-four months to expand and replace ageing fleet.

Kapoor serves as executive director on the board of Great Offshore, in which Bharati had raised stake earlier this year after a six-month long battle with rival ABG Shipyard.

Great Offshore could raise the funds through a share sale to institutions, fresh debt, or issue of foreign currency convertible bonds.

"We are more and more looking into management issues of Great Offshore. They do have a requirement to renew their fleet as some of the fleet is very old. That is definitely in their plans and we would help them do that," Kapoor said.

He did not elaborate on the quantum of orders the firm expects from Great Offshore.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

Strides Arcolab gets USFDA nod for new injection

Pharma firm Strides Arcolab today said it has received two approvals from the US health regulator for its lidocaine hydrochloride injection, which is used for treatment of irregular heartbeat patients.

The approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) is for its lidocaine hydrochloride injection USP in single-use vials in the strengths of 20mg/ml, 5mg/ml and 10mg/ml, Strides Arcolab said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

"The products will be launched in the near future. We have also filed applications for balance strengths, approval for which are awaited," it added.

According to IMS data, the total US market for lidocaine injections in 2009 was worth approximately $61 million.

"Half of this market will be covered by the two products for which approvals have been received," it said.
This approval was the 50th Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for the company. Of the 50 approvals, 31 are for sterile products. Furthermore, out of 19 ANDA approvals secured by the company in 2010, 14 were in the steriles space.

Gives no reason for Gurumani’s termination, but says financial irregularities not an issue.

Hyderabad-based SKS Microfinance on Monday sacked its Managing Director and CEO, Suresh Gurumani. A resolution terminating Gurumani’s services with immediate effect was passed by the company’s board on Monday and notified to the stock exchanges.

Markets reacted sharply to the news. Shares of SKS plummeted 5.81 per cent over the previous close to end at Rs 1,276.50 on the BSE on Monday.

The board replaced Gurumani with M R Rao, who was appointed deputy CEO barely a month ago. When asked why Gurumani had been fired, SKS Executive Vice-President (Corporate Communications) Atul Takle told Business

Standard: “We are not commenting on that.”
However, SKS Chief Financial Officer D Dilli Raj said the termination was “not an issue related to financial irregularities”.

In the course of a conference call with investors on Monday, SKS founder Vikram Akula said, “The move is basically to support the scaling up of operations. It is important to play a proactive role when the company is entering into new areas.” He did not, however, specify what those new areas would be.

On September 7, SKS announced that Akula would be reinstated as executive chairman of the company with effect from November 1. He had relinquished the position and taken on the role of non-executive chairman after Gurumani joined the company as CEO in November 2008.

According to a source close to the developments, with Akula reclaiming the post of executive chairman, restructuring of the top management was inevitable. “For SKS to grow with a clear focus, the company needs top management as a coherent team. So, one person has to make way,” the source said.

A chartered accountant by training, Gurumani was earlier director, consumer banking, at Barclays. His appointment came after SKS raised Rs 366 crore ($75 million) from private equity investors in November 2008 in its fourth round of funding. Sandstone Capital, an India-focused hedge fund with $1 billion capital under management, led the deal. Other investors in the round included SVB India Capital and Kismet Capital.

The SKS board meeting, which was convened on Sunday, was adjourned to Monday. Takle said this was done to ensure the participation of all company directors, including the four who were abroad.

Monday also saw the resignation of Ashish Lakhanpal from directorship of the company. Takle said he had voluntarily stepped down, so that the board composition complies with the prescribed ratio of independent and non-independent directors.

SKS Microfinance was founded as a non-profit organisation in late 1997. It received a non-banking finance company licence from Reserve Bank of India in 2006. The company raised Rs 1,500 crore in an initial public offering in August. According to the SKS draft red herring prospectus, Gurumani had a five-year contract from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2014.

As of March 31, SKS had 6.78 million women borrowers and total disbursements of more than Rs 14,000 crore. For the quarter ended June 2010, the company posted revenues of Rs 305.56 crore and a net profit of Rs 66.70 crore.
http://feeds.feedburner.com/BachelorsArea

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
