The last trip i try few hotels and resort that i think cheap enough for backpaker.
just try, there is online booking,
but better call that number first. i am recommended this hotels cause i think it's good for our pocket..
the rate are just about Rp.80.000 - 250.000 (9$-27$),but for the last just saw the review on online first because the price would changes.

There are two ways to go to bali for foreigners who want to try the road trip try this one.

bali 1 : KUTA

-from Jakarta
economic train,
from the Pasar Senen station to surabaya Gubeng, departing at 12 noon. spend a total cost of approximately 50rupiah to economic
if you want business, about 90 thousand rupiah,
eat on the train about 10.000 rupiah.

-Arrived,
surabaya at 4 am to buy tickets directly to banyuwangi at 9 am,there a train to banyuwangi, ranges from 60 thousand rupiah to 90 thousand.
-travel about about about 7 hours.
arrived about 4pm.
walking the road about 200-300 meters to the ketapang port .

entering the port paid for 15000 rupiah.
(open 24 hours).
ferry ride toward Gilimanuk.

-At Gilimanuk do not forget prepare u'r identity card or passport because without identity u never get into Bali. and pay 1000 for restribution / tax.
and ride to the station Ubung,
get public transportation or called Metromini trip about 3 hours to ubung.

-will arrived at 9 or 10 pm,
Direct ride public transportation,direct to Denpasar kuta,or decide where your destination.

-but now there is an airplane,slightly cheaper. but who wants to enjoy what it backpaker, must try this road trip.

-For accommodation in Bali we can hire a motorcycle or a car rental ,
days or week or month depent our purposes.
-motorcycles rent between 40-50 thousand rupiah.

Travel around bali and when u need more intereting place just go to other island it call LOMBOK this very beautiful,natural.

From lombok you can rent a boat to go to gili island wow....just says when u arrived here.

Flashpacker

Flashpacker is a neologism used to refer to the backpacker prosperous. Whereas backpacking is traditionally associated with budgets and relatively cheap travel destination, flashpacking has an association of more income while traveling and has been defined simply as backpacking with a bigger budget.

The simple definition of the term Flashpacker can be considered as backpacking with flash, or style. One school of thought defines flashpacker as a fast growing segment of travelers who adhere to simple accommodation and meal budget, while spending freely, even excessive, for activities at the destination of their choice. Another school of thought defines flashpacking as an odd mix of 'slumming it and luxury; travel adventures with people during the day and quiet and comfortable budget accommodation for dinner. Flashpackers has further defined as a tech-savvy adventurers who often prefer to travel with mobile phones, digital cameras, iPods and laptops, although none are required to become a flashpacker. As with other forms of travel, the term flashpacker mainly one of self-identification. Originally the term itself is unclear.

Gap-packer

"Gap-packer" is a new word that is used usually to refer to people who backpack into several countries in a short time while in the gap between school and university or between university and their first job.

Megaloping
Megaloping is a new word to describe Backpacking only use public transport.

Culture
Important in backpacking is the sense of authenticity. Backpacking is considered as more than a vacation, but a means of education. Backpackers want to experience the "real" objective and not the package versions that are often associated with mass tourism, which has led to claims that anti-Backpackers tours. History backpacker

Although there is no definitive answer regarding the precise origin of Backpacker, its roots can be traced, at least in part, to the point Hippies in the 1960s, and 70 which is then followed by the parts of the old Silk Road. In fact, some backpackers today seek to re-create that journey, albeit with a more convenient way, while utilizing the current popularity of the green movement. Looking deep into history, Giovanni Francesco Gemelli Careri has been cited by some as one of the first backpackers in the world.

There are various opinions regarding the term of this backpacker. Some say the same backpacker tourists footgear (sandals). There is also an opinion only people who do not have sufficient funds that choose to become a backpacker. Some are of the opinion that the backpacker is people who want to travel to know better the culture and the local community. Some are of the opinion that only by becoming a backpacker we can travel to places remote and difficult to access.

While traveling along the old Hippie Trail has been awarded complicated since the early 80s due to unrest in Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran that continues today, backpacking has expanded to most parts of the world. In recent years, the increase in budget and low cost airlines have contributed to this expansion. At this time, new "hippie trail" is being formed against North Africans in places such as Morocco and Tunisia, and other goals achieved by cheap flights.

Changes in technology and improvements also contributed to changes in backpacking. Backpackers traditionally do not travel with expensive electronic equipment such as laptop computers, digital cameras and PDAs due to concerns about theft, damage, and additional luggage weight. However, the desire to stay connected coupled with trends in lightweight electronics have led to flashpacking trend, which has been in a state of constant evolution in recent years. Simultaneous with the changes to the "what" they are carrying, backpacking is becoming less and less dependent on physical pack in the beginning though backpack can still be regarded as the main trunk Backpackers.
