The government keeps lots of statistics on things like unemployment and inflation, but it really does not keep track of how sick and twisted people are becoming. Most of us recognize that the character of the American people has changed dramatically over the decades, but unlike the national debt, you can't easily point to a chart or a graph to show exactly how bad things are getting... America is becoming a truly frightening place. Our cities our decaying, thieves are becoming bolder, you never know who you can trust and everyone seems depressed. America is decomposing right in front of our eyes, and it is time that we all admitted it.

In the old days, if you met a stranger out on the streets you knew that you could almost certainly trust that person. But these days if you let your child wander one aisle over while you are shopping at Wal-Mart there is a chance that someone will try to abduct her.

Something has changed.

In our major cities, if you walk up to someone at random there is a decent chance that person will be a pervert or a sicko, and most Americans know that this is true at a gut level. Almost everyone is very leery of "strangers" these days. It has gotten to the point where we are all afraid of one another.

In a major U.S. city, walk right up to people on the street, look them in the eyes and try to introduce yourself.

What will happen when you do that?

In many instances, people will literally run away from you.

We are scared to death to interact with people that we do not know, and the reality is that those fears are way too often justified.

The federal government is stealing 150 million dollars an hour from our children and our grandchildren and Barack Obama thinks that is a good thing. The new Obama budget projects a $1.33 trillion federal budget deficit for the 2012 fiscal year. That is significantly higher than the $1.15 trillion that the Congressional Budget Office was projecting because it includes a whole bunch of stimulus spending that the Obama administration plans to do. The 2012 budget deficit that the Obama administration is projecting would be equivalent to approximately 8.5 percent of GDP. We simply cannot afford to be running these kinds of outrageous budget deficits year after year.

At the moment, the U.S. national debt is sitting at a grand total of $15,355,838,921,022.16. That is an amount that is so large that it is hard to even put into words.

At this point our national debt is greater than 100% of our national GDP. We are on the road to national financial disaster and yet our politicians keep piling up debt at a rate that is absolutely mind blowing.

The Obama administration is projecting that budget deficits will go down 'in the future', but that is what our politicians always do. They always promise that the budget picture will improve 'down the road', but that never actually happens.

According to the Bush administration, we were supposed to be swimming in huge budget surpluses by now.

So how did that work out?

Recently, Washington state lawmakers passed a bill, setting the stage for that state to become the seventh in the nation to allow same-sex couples to get married. I typically make it a point to stay out of debates with religious undertones. I admit this is partially because it makes for such a polarizing situation and many in the Survivalist/Prepper subculture are very religious people. It's not exactly considered wise for a blogger to risk alienating his readership, but I feel the need to clarify my position on this issue.

Let's be crystal clear on something: I don't give a crap about gay marriage... or straight marriage, for that matter. And neither should you, because unless you're in it, it isn't your business. In fact, I don't believe the government ought to be involved in marriage at all.

Marriage should be a religious institution only; straight or gay, if you can find a church willing to marry you, have at it. Then, in my world, you would file for a completely separate domestic partnership to change your legal status with the government, should you so choose. Conversely, if I wanna move in with my brother and file a domestic partnership, I should be perfectly within my rights to do so. It isn't the government's business who I choose as a life partner.

Now, I know this is gonna rub some folks the wrong way because of some stuff in the Bible that says being gay is wrong. But, if you're a Christian and you believe that then you're reading from the wrong book; you're supposed to be living under "The Grace," not "The Law" and I don't recall Jesus having much to say on the subject. So, unless you're an Orthodox Jew, the religious argument holds no water -- you either need to re-examine your beliefs or just go ahead and wrap your head around the fact that you're really just a bigot. Luckily, we live in a country where folks have died to afford you the freedom to be a bigot, but let's not be hypocritical and try to blame it on God.

And, even if you do consider it to be immoral, I would argue that it is not the government's role to legislate morality; if you disagree, then you're far too comfortable having "The Man's" nose in your business than I will ever be.

People are free to believe any absurd mess they want to believe, but the government should have no dog in the fight. Every hour they spend debating and drawing-up Bills and briefs and Lord knows what else and every bit of ink and paper they use is being paid-for (including their salaries and the salaries of their staffs) with taxpayer dollars to deal with an issue that the government shouldn't even be involved in. There are real problems in this world going unsolved because public servants can't stop obsessing over whether it's okay for Joe Bob and Pete to tie the knot. Who cares! And I'm a Conservative, saying this.

Further, the country I was raised in believes in equal protections and equal rights *FOR ALL AMERICANS EVERYWHERE* -- no exceptions. I see this as being no different than when bigoted individuals tried to curtail the rights of blacks and women before that. People have the right to be close-minded bigots; they *DO NOT* have the right to turn their prejudices into law. That's why I nearly flip my lid whenever people talk about trying to pass a Constitutional Amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman -- that mess doesn't belong anywhere near the Constitution.

That document isn't supposed to tell us what rights we have; we have our rights from the moment we first come into existence. The purpose of the Constitution was to place limits on what the government is allowed to do in relation to those rights. We are all sovereign entities with the right to live however and to do whatever we want as long as we don't stray into activities that impede the rights of anyone else.

I fully expect to lose some readers after this. I hope I'm wrong, but so be it. I'm concerned with individual liberty as the Founders intended, not political games that are ultimately only thrown-out to distract and divide us in the first place.

When Will The Government Quit Putting Out Fraudulent Employment Statistics?: "On Friday, the entire financial world celebrated when it was announced that the unemployment rate in the United States had fallen to 8.3 percent. That is the lowest it has been since February 2009, and it came as an unexpected surprise for financial markets that are hungry for some good news. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, nonfarm payrolls jumped by 243,000 during the month of January. You can read the full employment report right here. Based on this news, pundits all over the world were declaring that the U.S. economy is back. Stocks continued to rise on Friday and the Dow is hovering near a 4 year high. So does this mean that our economic problems are over? Of course not. A closer look at the numbers reveals just how fraudulent these employment statistics really are. Between December 2011 and January 2012, the number of Americans 'not in the labor force' increased by a whopping 1.2 million. That was the largest increase ever in that category for a single month. That is how the federal government is getting the unemployment rate to go down. The government is simply pretending that huge numbers of unemployed Americans don't want to be part of the labor force anymore. As you will see below, the employment situation in America is not improving. Yet everyone in the mainstream media is dancing around as if the economic crisis has been cancelled. The Federal Reserve's Explicit Goal: Devalue The Dollar 33% - Forbes: "The Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) has made it official: After its latest two day meeting, it announced its goal to devalue the dollar by 33% over the next 20 years. The debauch of the dollar will be even greater if the Fed exceeds its goal of a 2 percent per year increase in the price level.

An increase in the price level of 2% in any one year is barely noticeable. Under a gold standard, such an increase was uncommon, but not unknown. The difference is that when the dollar was as good as gold, the years of modest inflation would be followed, in time, by declining prices. As a consequence, over longer periods of time, the price level was unchanged. A dollar 20 years hence was still worth a dollar.

But, an increase of 2% a year over a period of 20 years will lead to a 50% increase in the price level. It will take 150 (2032) dollars to purchase the same basket of goods 100 (2012) dollars can buy today. What will be called the 'dollar' in 2032 will be worth one-third less (100/150) than what we call a dollar today..."
