I do have comments on this expose (below) but will possibly add them later, as I seem to be one victim of the exposed controversy along with the Comanche Nation. I must say that I did not know some of the discoveries made in this expose by the author, but what I personally know from saved correspondence matches up with the facts presented below. I’ve been scoring for a long time, even teaching it professionally now days. But the real losers in this controversy are the Comanche People, many of whom I consider good friends. It looks as though the Comanches were largely ignored rather than joining in any sincere collaboration which would have been the decent course.

Yes, David Yeagley (not surprisingly) succumbs to Baracknophobia in yet another of his white supremacist pontifications. Yeagley is feigning the victim yet again, "oh, it's too horrible to repeat — SO HORRIBLE — the homosexual libel against Obama, so horrible that I cannot repeat it here on my blog, I morally cannot post it at all, I simply cannot," but then Yeagley posts it all anyway. This two-faced behavior is exactly why no one cares about Yeagley's views whatsoever. It's all too easy to see Yeagley's own hypocrisy.

Yeagley slams Comanche women, trying to appease his past mistakes

This week, it seems Yeagley is still at it. You know, “it.” Misogyny. Misogyny seeps into most anything Yeagley blogs, but this time it’s a backhanded slap at the Comanche women. In one breath, Yeagley is trying to commend Wallace Coffey for his goodwill toward others as a virtue to which Yeagley himself supposedly aspires. But in the same breath, Yeagley turns around and baits the Comanche women into a potential argument about why the Comanche Nation is so angry and divisive. Interesting that Yeagley’s admiration for Coffey does not extend to the Comanche women. It’s as if he has not learned anything from Coffey at all. No surprise there, I’m a skeptic given Yeagley’s never-ending white supremacy rants and his voiced desire for Mexican immigrants to be left dead in the desert rather than welcomed into Indian country. That’s not very “Wallace Coffey” of Yeagley, is it? Nope, it’s not.

After publishing the article Bad Eagle: Go Speed Racer Go! debunking Yeagley’s ‘bad eagle’ claims, Bad Eagle (dot ORG) received an interesting comment (immediately below). We’d encourage those of you who are interested in Comanches and Comanche history to skip past anything Yeagley offers, and go straight to the scholarly material from Thomas Kavanagh.

It’s telling that Yeagley was “unavailable” when given the chance to meet and talk with Dr. Thomas W. Kavanagh — especially since Yeagley is big on claiming that Comanches had no social or political groups, a false claim that Dr. Kavanagh's research contradicts. And yes, that’s right, Thomas Kavanagh is a Dr. with actual academic degrees (Liberal Arts), not a DMA in piano performance (fine arts) like Yeagley. No wonder Yeagley was “unavailable” when Dr. Thomas W. Kavanagh visited Comanche country.

Ever notice how any blog or comment from Yeagley or his few supporters gets seemingly twisted into “race” where it quickly morphs into the elephant-in-the-room of any discussion? We have. Anyone reading Yeagley’s blog will no doubt see this as well. It seems there are a couple reasons for this supererogatory turn of attention on Yeagley’s part: the palpable “fascination” with the white power movement in most of his writings, and the needless fear of impure blood and racial mixing in those same writings.

If Yeagley’s writings are any indication of the man himself, our sound advice is to steer clear or be drawn into a cesspool of non sequitur speculation and excessive aggrandizement. To anyone with half a mind, Yeagley’s blog is the Speed Racer of hyperbole, rushing in haste for race to somehow provide an answer to every important question of the day. You’ve heard of speed reading, well meet David Yeagley — Speed Racer — Go, go, go Speed Racer, go! And don’t forget the mysterious Malcom ... er, I mean, Racer X, what a commie he must be!

Fresh from his ego-induced rant against America Indian sovereignty and history, in Historiens Fångar ("prisoners of the past" or "history's prisoners"), Yeagley continues to make silly, illogical claims, one after another. Yeagley in one instance claims that a natural process, death, is a “chosen” state which, in turn, provides for its meaning; a totally idiotic notion since death is absolute and inevitable:

Yeagley — “Religion has always valued death. Choosing death for religious reasons has been thought, anciently, to validate the religion. It is a symbiotic relation. The religion gives meaning to death, and death gives meaning to the religion” (2008).

First of all, death is not the meaning of any religion that I know of, except maybe satanism. Religion results from the desire to discover purpose and relationships in the world, though Religion is, in fact, not a necessary requisite for pursuing that same agenda. Anyone can search for meaning — even atheists. So Yeagley’s above claim is pure nonsense.

Are Comanches holocaust deniers? Well, let’s start with this quote (below) regarding denial:

“Denial is the psychological process by which human beings protect themselves from things which threaten them by blocking knowledge of those things from their awareness. It is a defense which distorts reality; it keeps us from feeling the pain and uncomfortable truth about things we do not want to face. If we cannot feel or see the consequences of our actions, then everything is fine and we can continue to live without making any changes. Denial comes in many forms” (CAIP).

According to the denial site (above), there are several types of denial. Let’s examine these types, and see where David “A” Yeagley falls, shall we? Then, perhaps, we can answer the basic question about Comanches with a bit more understanding of the facts. But truthfully, I suspect the “A” stands for ‘annoy.’

As if he somehow possessed a fantastical wisdom of which the rest of us should be envious, pontificator David Yeagley puffs up a symptom of racism without really understanding the underlying factors, yet again. Take a look at his recent article that basically declares that Indians are perceived as engaging in “prejudice” when they ought to be perceived as engaging in “justice.” What?! First, rather than focusing on real history and actual events, Yeagley tries to equate “perception” of Indians as somehow devoid of historical facts and the historical model of cause-and-effect.

Yeagley — “Is a person prejudice if he doesn't know it? ...Is it possible to be conscious at all, without prejudice, preconception, natural aversion, and discretion? ...Prejudice is part of what it means to be conscious at all... Even if it is an instinctive defense mechanism, or, as in Gestalt psychology, it is simply a neurological process of visual perception” (10-12-07).

Okay, so according to Yeagley, Indians are persecuted because whites misperceive us? Of course on a level playing field where Indians and non-Indians have equality and a good working understanding of each other, why should non-Indians misperceive Indian people? Of course, this does not hold weight because we are not on a level playing field and discrimination is readily known by Indian people, if not non-Indians. But to leap from misperceived “Indian revenge” (from his white point-of-view), and to equate that “revenge” with Indian “justice” does a great disservice to Indian people, as if Indians have no legitimate reasons to seek justice at all, even today.
