Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent customer service by greeting, smiling, thanking and providing service to all customers.Scans and bags groceries, or assists customer in bagging groceries using proper procedures.Weighs items, and issues and redeems promotional coupons.Collects cash, check, or charge payment from customer and makes change for cash transactions.Records prices and departments, subtotals taxable items, and totals purchases on cash register.Counts money in cash drawer at beginning of work shift;  Responsible for the accuracy of the cash drawer.Uses electronic scanner to record price.May be required to work the Customer Service Center to include functions such as answering telephones, selling lottery and power ball tickets, Rug Doctor transactions, video rental, postage, handling refunds, etc.Complies with all policies including the sale of alcohol and tobacco products and PSE Laws.Supports corporate approved fund raisers and public relations programs such as school partnerships, American Lung Association drives, MDA drives, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS

High School degree or GED equivalent preferred.  Prior cash handling experience preferred.Must be at least 16 years of age to work in the grocery and produce departments.  Must be at least 21 years of age to work in the liquor department.  Must be at least 18 years of age to work in all other departments due to operations of hazardous equipment.
