It’s hard to believe that Baja Baby Gear has been up and running for more than 2 years. We feel so grateful to all of our clients for letting us serve you. We are indebted to all the local resorts, bellboys, concierge staff and property managers who work tirelessly to ensure that our baby gear reaches you in a timely fashion. Without your business, and the help of our Cabo colleagues, Baja Baby Gear just wouldn’t have made it! Thank you all!

As you now know we are expanding our service to Riviera Maya. We feel so excited about this and we promise to maintain the high standards that we have kept in Los Cabos.

While these expansions and transitions have been a blessing in themselves, our biggest achievement of our year is the impending arrival of our next child. We wanted to let you all know about it in advance. Put it in your diary folks. Approximate ETA is May 28th. Wyatt came two weeks early, so I am officially winding things down in preparation for another early arrival! We will still be open for business as usual, but we wanted to notify you that it might take us a little longer to answer an email, or to get to a phone call. We promise that this won’t be a permanent thing, but we are looking forward to chilling out for a couple of weeks with our new baby and Wyatt. We are going to change our delivery hours from 8am-8pm to 8am-5pm in the short term. We are also going to try not to deliver on a Sunday, so if there is a way that we can work around a Sunday delivery by delivering Saturday night – then that’s what we will try to do!

Thank you all in advance for your understanding!

Over the past 2 years, we have received steady requests for information on similar companies in the Cancun area. We realized that there isn’t a service quite like Baja Baby Gear in Cancun or Playa del Carmen areas. Collectively known as Riviera Maya, this area is significantly larger than Los Cabos.

Sooo, after a few months of plotting, planning, shipping equipment and preparation, we are so excited to announce the launch of Baja Baby Gear in the Riviera Maya!! To clarify, we can deliver to the following areas: Cancun, Bahia Principe, Tulum, Cancun airport, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras. We have been doing a few deliveries on the ‘down low’ already, and we want to sincerely thank the families who have trusted us enough to try us out over there!

So how’s it going to work? If you want to place an order for Riviera Maya, just go onto the Baja Baby Gear website, place the order of items that you want, and simply add your resort/villa information in Riviera Maya area into the check out section. You can also place an order using the same toll free numbers that we currently have.

As a Welcome promotion for everyone using our services in Cancun, we are temporarily keeping our delivery pricing structure the same as here: we will do free deliveries on orders over $100 USD. However, for orders under $100 USD, here are the rates for delivery:

Puerto Morelos: $25 USD

Playa del Carmen: $25 USD

Puerto Aventuras: $25 USD

Cancun: $35 USD

Bahia Principe: $35 USD

Tulum: $35 USD.

Airport: $20 USD each way

Currently, our website only caters to $25 USD delivery charges. So please note that if you place an order for any of the 3 areas where the tariff is $35 USD, we will be billing you an additional $10 USD, which can be paid via Paypal to info@bajababygear.com or in cash when you are in Mexico. PLEASE NOTE, that this is a promotional rate for Cancun while we are in inception phase. Once we have our operations fully underway with a new booking program for Cancun, we will be amending this slightly. We will keep you posted on when!

Finally, I want to introduce everyone to Liliana Zarazua – who will be managing Baja Baby Gear Riviera Maya. Liliana and I have been colleagues and friends for many years. I am so excited to welcome her to the Baja Baby Gear team. Liliana will be doing the same job as I have been doing in Cabo – she is your ‘go-to’ girl. Whatever you need, don’t hesitate to contact her. Her number is 9841009993 and her email is cancun@bajababygear.com.

Thank you to all our clients for your business and we look forward to serving all our new clients in the Riviera Maya!

Jenni

As a Mom, I’d say one of the more tiring tasks that I have to do on a daily basis is think of, and then make my family their evening meal. While there is something to be said for preparing a fresh, nutritious meal for your loved ones, it would be nice to take a break from it every now and again!

This is your golden opportunity for that very break! Have you ever considered hiring a personal chef while you are on vacation? Yes, I know it sounds very extravagant, but the thought of having a few extra hours a day to myself while on vacation sounds like something I wouldn’t mind treating myself to!

Dianne Mattei is a resident here in Cabo with an extensive background in cooking. Originally trained in France, Dianne is a personal chef (since 1975!) who can come to your villa in Cabo and come up with a menu that is perfect for you and your family! The reason I believe her services work so well for those of us with children, is because oftentimes, we prefer to stay home while our kids sleep and eat in. Dianne can tailor your menu to your exact liking… all you have to do is relax! You can work on your family menu prior to arrival in Cabo, making your Cabo vacation totally stress-free!

To reach Dianne, you can call her locally on 624-168-4527, or email her at diannemattei@msn.com. This will give you an idea of some sample menus that Dianne can prepare:

While I realize our Baja Baby Gear clients are a little young to try out this sport, there are many parents and family members who love to dive. I think it goes without saying that when we travel, we hope to find experiences that we remember forever, with people whom we trust. Founded more than 30 years ago, Amigos Del Mar de Los Cabos is the first dive company here. With fully trained staff that are as passionate about the marine life they encounter as they are about ensuring your safety, I am excited to tell you a little about this dive company.

Maybe you have never been scuba diving before and want to try it in a safe environment; maybe you are an experienced diver looking for an efficient company who can take you to the best local dive spots or maybe you just want to see as much of Cabo as you can. Whatever the case is, Amigos del Mar can cater to your specific needs.

One of the owners Kevin Colter kindly shared this with me: “Amigos Del Mar is a PADI, SSI, NAUI, NASDS Dive Resort Facility offering daily Sea of Cortez Scuba Tours from Cabo San Lucas, a variety of Certification Courses and Introductory Scuba Courses. Our choice of dive sites will please every diver, from the novice to the most experienced.

This company was founded and continues to operate on a strong foundation of customer service and diver safety. We operate in complete accordance with the “Standard Safe Diving Practices” as published by the RSTC (Recreational Scuba Training Council). Our equipment is maintained at a level exceeding industry standards. Our boats are maintained and equipped to meet U.S. Coast Guard regulations. Our staff receives regular on-going training in areas as diverse as Customer Service, Diver Safety, Boat Handing, First Aid and Rescue Skills just to name a few.”

To learn more about their services and find out more information about Amigos Del Mar, please visit their website on www.amigosdelmar.com or telephone local 624 143 0505, from US 513 898 0547.

Settled just a little north of San Jose del Cabo, this 10-acre community is perhaps the number one place to take your family to during your stay in Cabo.

Not only is Flora Farms self-sustaining, in that it grows 100% of its produce on site, but it caters to any and all who visit. Perhaps you want a leisurely lunch or family-style dinner? Or maybe you are looking for a special place to celebrate a special occasion? Are you looking for a space to relax and enjoy nature? The Farm can fit anyone’s needs.

While we are all familiar with the concept of organic produce, rarely to we get a chance to see it actually take form. The Farm makes, grows or raises everything they serve on their menus or sell in their produce area. It is a wonderful setting to educate your children on organic living.

Not only do they farm without the use of pesticides or genetically modified seeds, but also they have dedicated themselves to raising free range and cruelty free animals.

For us, we love nothing more than taking our son to the restaurant, listening to some fabulous live music, than letting him rip around the gardens of the Farm. Picnic tables are available for dining for those of us whose children prefer to eat, run and play!

Flora Farms is family owned and operated by the Greene family, who also created the Cabo Humane Society and the local organic Market. Their newest addition to The Farm are the Culinary Cottages, which allow the public to join them in growing, harvesting and living in this amazing community.

We encourage you to take an afternoon, an evening, or both to spend some time at the farm! To get a better idea of the concept, visit www.flora-farms.com. For reservations or enquiries, please call 6243554564. *During the Summer months, Flora Farms is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and only open for dinners. When Winter comes, the Farm resumes breakfast, lunch and dinner dining.

The plan is to have a stress-free visit to Cabo right? The typical scenario is that you fly to Cabo – with our without children and more family and friends. I will leave it up to you to decide how stressful that is – all depends on your own family! You land in Cabo – it’s HOT HOT HOT! You line up to get through customs, wait to get your luggage, then head out the door to pick-up your transportation. I am guessing you may have been up since some ungodly hour by this stage and the LAST thing you want to do right about now is head to the nearest grocery store to spend an hour or two of your hard-earned vacation time trying to figure out a) where your favorite things are, b) how much pesos actually convert to in dollars and c) trying to communicate with a store worker who can’t speak a lick of English!

So why not start your vacation a little earlier? I am excited to introduce you to Where In Cabos – a comprehensive and customized grocery delivery service! That’s right people – you can have ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT waiting for you at your vacation home! Michelle Smith and Claudia Velo are a dream team of what we call in Ireland ‘on-the-ball’ ladies. They know Cabo like the back of their hand and they can acquire and deliver anything that can be bought in Cabos. During their 7 years of operation, they have delivered everything from standard groceries to fully organic requests; flowers, custom designed gift baskets, birthday presents, cakes, even medicines.

Michelle & Claudia conceived the idea of Where in Cabos as an answer to the needs of people wanting to make their arrival to Los Cabos less stressful. Both women were in the high-end hotel industry and people were asking for pre-arrival grocery delivery; they saw the need for an efficient and comprehensive service that would make the traveling party’s arrival to a condo or resort more pleasurable. Thus, began Where In Cabos.

www.WhereInCabos.com is the website for this amazing service. In a perfect world, a minimum of 3 days in advance for an order is preferred, however Claudia and Michelle will deliver within 24 hours of receiving the request and can also handle same day deliveries, depending on the delivery schedule for that particular day.

Where In Cabos will deliver anywhere between Diamante on the Pacific Coast and Puerto Los Cabos on the East Cape. They deliver 365 days a year (make that 366 onleap years!), between 9.30am and 7.30pm.

Visit the website for more information, call +52 624 104 3644/ +52 624 188 6643 or send an email to info@whereincabos.com.

Located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, this property is simply beautiful.

Hacienda Beach Club & Residences was built in January 2007, designed by Hart Howerton & Landscaping by Girbin Landscaping. Offering 109 residences, Hacienda is a residential community in a resort property, comprising of a restaurant, spa, fitness center and beach activities. Who would want to stay here? Anyone who wants to enjoy a quality vacation, surrounded with beauty and receiving top class service. Families, couples and singles are all welcome at the Hacienda.

Ideally located right on Medano Beach, Hacienda is perfect for those guests wishing to pursue activities and enjoy the many exciting attractions of Cabo. From their prime ocean front setting, guests can meander along the beach-front and drink in the Cabo atmosphere.

Our favorite part of Hacienda has to be its restaurant. For those of you that don’t know, Hacienda Cocina & Cantina is open to the public and well worth a visit. The views from the restaurant are incredible. With both in and out-door dining areas, the staff make sure your experience with them is perfect. Some of our favorite dishes are their breakfast chilaquiles, their fresh fish of the day and we LOVE their flan and churros for dessert.

If you haven’t visited Hacienda yet, you simply must. Please visit their website www.haciendacaboresort.com for further information about their amenities and residences.

I love Indian food. Sadly, it is a hard food commodity to find in Mexico. Throughout our time in Mexio, we could count on 1 hand the number of Indian restaurants that we found… actually I am struggling to even think of one! Yep, we had all but given up on the idea of enjoying one of our favorite foods, when along came The Curry House.

Tonight, while I was feasting on homemade, freshly prepared chicken korma with warm naan bread – I thought it only fair to bring this amazing food to your attention. The Curry House is an Indian food service, which in itself is a unique concept. We, the lucky residents of Cabo (as well as any of you visitors reading this), can now call in an order, or place it by email, or Facebook. The wonderful folks at The Curry House will prepare your order, all you have to do is pick it up!

So you might ask, how is the food at The Curry House? Delicious. Pricing? More than fair. Quantity? Enough for you to feel completely satisfied with a healthy portion of leftovers! The great thing about The Curry House is that they have two menu options: their standard menu and their ‘Menu of the Day’. While they prefer to have 24 hours notice if you want something from their standard menu, those of us who are more last minute, can call on the same day and order from the-then current menu.

The owners of The Curry House are originally from Mumbai, India, so you needn’t be concerned about the authenticity of the food. I can verify that the flavors are incredible and you get the feeling that each dish has been especially prepared for you with love. The Curry House has a great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Their ingredients are chosen carefully, and it is clear that the owners cook with the healthiest of produce.

To contact The Curry House for more information, please call them locally on 624 125 2011 or email them on cabocurryhouse@gmail.com. For Facebook users, just enter The Curry House into the search engine, and you will find them. Once on their homes page, you will see their daily menu along with an easy explanation of the dishes for that day. Enjoy!

We deserve not just a good vacation with our family, but a perfect one. It is the only time of the year that families get to spend some quality time alone to unwind, reconnect and recharge their batteries. Sadly, just the stress of finding a place to stay and hoping that it is adequate for your vacation time is enough to wipe the idea of a ‘perfect’ vacation off the slate. Most families spend their first day of vacation at the concierge desk (or should I say the line-up of people waiting at the concierge desk!) trying to figure out which tours they want to do, whether they want to book a rental car or not and asking for a room change because the one they got just doesn’t work for them! We’ve all been there, right?

Not so with Baja Sur Vacation Rentals. Having been in business for 12 years, this company has access to some of the most beautiful beachfront condos and villas that Los Cabos has to offer. They have everything from intimate studios to 10 bedroom luxury villas. Not only can they find you the perfect accommodation for your trip, but also they take customer service to a whole new level by packaging any number of local activities you would want to enjoy. Their travel and tour division can provide you with airport transportation, car rentals, private chef services, in-house spa services and much more. But the best thing about their company is that EVERYTHING can be taken care of prior to your arrival in Cabo!

“2 Cabo Tours” and “Baja Sur Vacation Rental Company” are ready to offer you a wealth of local information, along with an unparalleled level of customer service. Just visit their extensive Testimonials page on their website to see just how happy their clients are!

Imagine how easy it could be to have everything you’re your accommodations, activities and transportation all organized in just one call! www.bajasurvacationrentals.com is their website! Visit it today to see just how incredible your next vacation could be! You can also speak to a representative on their toll free number 1 888 332 8477, or email at info@bajasurvacationrentals.com.

In all the places that I have lived in Mexico, Mazatlan always held the trophy for the best seafood that I had eaten…. Until now!

May I introduce to you Blue Fish Seafood: conveniently located on the highway in the same mall as Applebys (just beside the Honda dealership!). The Blue Fish is a perfect pit stop for those of you staying in San Jose del Cabo, or for those who are passing through from the airport to Cabo. You simply have to stop in and try the food out!

The Blue Fish has a website where you can see their full menu – www.bluefishcabo.com. They specialize in ceviche – our favorite dish on the menu is their scallop ceviche with fresh mango. They have something for the whole family. Their quesadillas are out of this world, as are their battered tacos! Soft drinks and beer are served.

Service is excellent. Seating is outdoors, but with ample shading and rest rooms close by. Parking is easy. You can bring the kids as there is a large courtyard area where they can run around right in front of you! Blue Fish will also take large orders in advance and happily prepare a ‘to go’ meal. Their telephone number is 624 172 6652. Hours of operation are 10am – 6pm, closed on Sundays.

Follow these directions to get to Blue Fish. If you love seafood, you won’t be disappointed!
