It’s hard to believe that Baja Baby Gear has been up and running for more than 2 years. We feel so grateful to all of our clients for letting us serve you. We are indebted to all the local resorts, bellboys, concierge staff and property managers who work tirelessly to ensure that our baby gear reaches you in a timely fashion. As you now know we are expanding our service to Riviera Maya. We feel so excited about this and we promise to maintain the high standards that we have kept in Los Cabos.

While these expansions and transitions have been a blessing in themselves, our biggest achievement of our year is the impending arrival of our next child. We wanted to let you all know about it in advance. Put it in your diary folks. Approximate ETA is May 28^th.  Wyatt came two weeks early, so I am officially winding things down in preparation for another early arrival! We will still be open for business as usual, but we wanted to notify you that it might take us a little longer to answer an email, or to get to a phone call. We promise that this won’t be a permanent thing, but we are looking forward to chilling out for a couple of weeks with our new baby and Wyatt.  We are going to change our delivery hours from 8am-8pm to 8am-5pm in the short term. We are also going to try not to deliver on a Sunday, so if there is a way that we can work around a Sunday delivery by delivering Saturday night – then that’s what we will try to do!

Sooo, after a few months of plotting, planning, shipping equipment and preparation, we are so excited to announce the launch of Baja Baby Gear in the Riviera Maya!! To clarify, we can deliver to the following areas: Cancun, Bahia Principe, Tulum, Cancun airport, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras. We have been doing a few deliveries on the ‘down low’ already, and we want to sincerely thank the families who have trusted us enough to try us out over there!

So how’s it going to work? If you want to place an order for Riviera Maya, just go onto the Baja Baby Gear website, place the order of items that you want, and simply add your resort/villa information in Riviera Maya area into the check out section. You can also place an order using the same toll free numbers that we currently have.

As a Welcome promotion for everyone using our services in Cancun, we are temporarily keeping our delivery pricing structure the same as here: we will do free deliveries on orders over $100 USD. However, for orders under $100 USD, here are the rates for delivery:

Puerto Morelos: $25 USD

Playa del Carmen: $25 USD

Puerto Aventuras: $25 USD

Cancun: $35 USD

Bahia Principe: $35 USD

Tulum: $35 USD.

Airport: $20 USD each way

Currently, our website only caters to $25 USD delivery charges. So please note that if you place an order for any of the 3 areas where the tariff is $35 USD, we will be billing you an additional $10 USD, which can be paid via Paypal to info@bajababygear.com or in cash when you are in Mexico. PLEASE NOTE, that this is a promotional rate for Cancun while we are in inception phase. Once we have our operations fully underway with a new booking program for Cancun, we will be amending this slightly. We will keep you posted on when!

I love Indian food. Sadly, it is a hard food commodity to find in Mexico. Throughout our time in Mexio, we could count on 1 hand the number of Indian restaurants that we found… actually I am struggling to even think of one! Yep, we had all but given up on the idea of enjoying one of our favorite foods, when along came The Curry House.

Tonight, while I was feasting on homemade, freshly prepared chicken korma with warm naan bread – I thought it only fair to bring this amazing food to your attention. The Curry House is an Indian food service, which in itself is a unique concept. We, the lucky residents of Cabo (as well as any of you visitors reading this), can now call in an order, or place it by email, or Facebook. The wonderful folks at The Curry House will prepare your order, all you have to do is pick it up!

So you might ask, how is the food at The Curry House? Delicious. Pricing? More than fair. Quantity? Enough for you to feel completely satisfied with a healthy portion of leftovers! The great thing about The Curry House is that they have two menu options: their standard menu and their ‘Menu of the Day’. While they prefer to have 24 hours notice if you want something from their standard menu, those of us who are more last minute, can call on the same day and order from the-then current menu.

The owners of The Curry House are originally from Mumbai, India, so you needn’t be concerned about the authenticity of the food. I can verify that the flavors are incredible and you get the feeling that each dish has been especially prepared for you with love. The Curry House has a great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Their ingredients are chosen carefully, and it is clear that the owners cook with the healthiest of produce.

Nelson & I are always on the hunt for good local food – particularly seafood. In all the places that I have lived in Mexico, Mazatlan always held the trophy for the best seafood that I had eaten…. Until now!

May I introduce to you Blue Fish Seafood: conveniently located on the highway in the same mall as Applebys (just beside the Honda dealership!). The Blue Fish is a perfect pit stop for those of you staying in San Jose del Cabo, or for those who are passing through from the airport to Cabo. You simply have to stop in and try the food out!                                  

The Blue Fish has a website where you can see their full menu – www.bluefishcabo.com. They specialize in ceviche – our favorite dish on the menu is their scallop ceviche with fresh mango. They have something for the whole family. Their quesadillas are out of this world, as are their battered tacos! Soft drinks and beer are served.

Service is excellent. Seating is outdoors, but with ample shading and rest rooms close by. Parking is easy. You can bring the kids as there is a large courtyard area where they can run around right in front of you! Blue Fish will also take large orders in advance and happily prepare a ‘to go’ meal.
