Desert Racing Teams Begin Massive Restructuring

A recent survey done following the Toby Price 'Rock Party', reflects that any enthusiasm for the SCORE series events in Baja Sur, has evaporated.

Many teams claim they will no longer spend any extra money to go south after September.

Toby Price Competition Exit Cascades Into Budget Cuts For The Entire 2026 SCORE Season!

Some teams have told Baja Racing News, they will race the 500, "but that's it", "no mas SCORE, after June".

Many teams, cite the ongoing, escalating troubles of mismanagement by SCORE and diminishing security, travelling in Mexico.

Baja Racing News is following the higher tire prices and lack of reasonable fuels for racing Baja.

Many Team Leaders Tell Their Teams To STFU! An Attempt To Lockdown All Racing Plan Information For The Year!

A significant number of the country clubber teams have even intimated a complete information shutdown.

The purpose of these info-closures, is the fact team managers know crimes have been committed and "they don't want to be caught up in expensive criminal and legal fights, surrounding the SCORE/McMillin Racing/BFG Tires - Scandals".

-Baja Racing News has been informed by team members of McMillin Racing in San Diego California, 'Merica, of the following reporting.

Ensenada law enforcement has contacted numerous Americans, both in Mexico and in National City, California USA. Agents are following leads in the crimes against international racing star, celebrated Australian Toby Price.

Incidents occurred before the running of the Mexicali event, the San Felipe race, are under investigation.

Anyone who follows desert off-road racing in the southwest United States knows, McMillin racing has both hired Rob Mac as a backup driver and used Rob [Macacasham], teaming with Jackson Motorsports on BFG Tires efforts [many times over many years] in racing for the SCORE International series championships.

The important difference in the various racing efforts, are the two brothers leading the separate racing efforts within the McMillin family.

Mark McMillin, based in National City California, in previous years, had the base of the racing team efforts and family corporate headquarters, in that southbay community.

Mark, is also the head of the 'white power' association originated and funded by MICHELIN France/Jackson Motorsports/BFGoodrich Tires. Named, the 'ORMHOF' or "Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame".

The organization, [ORMHOF] constantly disrespects the work of the Mexican-American racing community and seldom, if ever, names anyone but white-boys to 'the club'.

Now, as a result of our investigative work to today, we also assert, a group of 'the racing insiders club', who are accused of taking down the international star Toby Price, are the same people associated with anti-"outsiders" actions and publicity.

The purpose? An attempt to control the accolades and finances associated with the SCORE International racing series.

McMillin racing, in the US, is at the core of these activities.

-That's why 'Rob Mac' was named to the Weel team, at the specific direction of BFGoodrich Tires/MICHELIN/Jackson Motorsports.

The shameful exposure of the American gringo racing interests, BFG Tires-Jackson Motorsports-McMillin Racing, are damaging the great sport of Baja Racing, in the Republic of Mexico.

The placement of BFG Tires representative Rob 'Mac[acasham] on the team of Paul Weel is a crime on the people of Mexico!

We understand Mexicano law enforcement is undertaking a search for the perpetrators of the crimes against international racing star, celebrated Australian Toby Price, that occurred before the running of the Mexicali event, the San Felipe race.

Before we embarrass Baja Californios again, with another SCORE Sham, we have called upon the leaders of the Baja California government to undertake a complete rebuke of the American racing community entering in next month's Baja 500, here in Ensenada, Mexico."

Statement of Ensenada Racing Community of Baja Mexico

"In accordance with the bylaws of the racing community, this board of racers has researched and held meetings relating to the recent proceedings of the 2026 San Felipe 250. In sporting terms, we concur with the statement of the CRB of SCORE International, dated March 29, 2026.

We also have determined no further 'sporting' disciplinary proceedings against anyone, regarding these matters should occur.

However, more concerning to our racing community is the nature of the extra-legal charges and who pressed them, in our country.

Therefore, to be clear, Toby Price is protected by the laws of the Republic of Mexico. Those who made the charges, acted as 'enforcement' in the desert of San Felipe, in our Republic of Mexico and acted as judges, juries and executioners in these specific matters must be investigated by State of Baja California law enforcement.

The questions we will answer soon, who tracked Toby Price, who held him against his will and who posted on the internet, the proceedings of illegal, likely criminal actions in this state."

Abelardo L. Rodriguez Montijo and the Famous Desi Arnaz in 1961, enjoying Los Cabos as they pioneer travel and tourism for international travel to and from Los Cabos, Mexico.

Hunting and fishing sports were well underway in southern Mexico, when the gringo races began sticking their noses onto the roads and byways, looking for sport and entertainment.

By 1959, there were numerous hunting and fishing properties on the peninsula.

Above, the winner of the national championship off-road racing event in 2006, an American, was invited to participate in the Southern BAJA event.

This original invitational, was so successful, our company was awarded a national tourism accolade from Mexico City.

Back in the 1940's and 50's, racing events thrived in Southern BAJA Mexico.

The 'racing' started with the local taxi's, showing off their wares to customers looking for fast and safe rides between La Paz, Todos Santos, San Jose and new destinations of southern Baja.

Motorsports is the number one sport of the people, on the Southern BAJA peninsula.

"International investigation underway", confirmed!

A San Diego native, retired California Highway Patrol Officer and prominent member of crackhead's racing confirms, Baja California law enforcement authorities have begun an investigation in association with 'Merican law enforcement.

Law enforcement sources in Mexicali, the capital of Baja California, confirmed they began to conduct the investigation after a member of the San Felipe Fire Department sought help from the State Attorneys office in the state capital.

The state attorney's office confirmed, an investigation in Baja Mexico has been underway and the California Highway Patrol, in the United States of America[USA] is assisting 'enlace', coordinating in the state of California.

The charges originate from a video and testimony from witnesses, presented at a private meeting between SCORE International and various racing teams members, during the proceedings of the running of the recent San Felipe 250.

""NASCAR will hold a street race on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California next June as a replacement for its downtown Chicago event that ran the past three years.

The shift next year will allow NASCAR to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy by hosting all three of its national series over a three-day weekend from June 19 to June 21.

"As part of our nation's 250th anniversary, we are honored for NASCAR to join the celebration as we host our first street race at a military base, Naval Base Coronado," Ben Kennedy, NASCAR executive vice president and chief venue and racing innovations officer, said in a statement Wednesday.

"NASCAR San Diego Weekend will honor the Navy's history and the men and women who serve as we take the best motorsports in the world to the streets of Naval Base Coronado."

It will be NASCAR's second street race in the sport's history, following the three-year run in Chicago, and first on an active military base. The course layout is not complete but is expected to be around 3 miles.

The move to the San Diego area does not eliminate a return to Chicago, where NASCAR will still maintain an office and attempt an eventual return, perhaps as early as 2027.

NASCAR has seen Auto Club Speedway close after the 2023 race. It built a temporary short track inside Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 2022 through 2024 but moved that event to North Carolina.

NASCAR Race the base: NASCAR bringing a different kind of speed to Naval Base Coronado

Ben Kennedy, who has been bullish on new endeavors for his family business, was the brains of the races at the Coliseum, Chicago, this year's visit to Mexico City and now next year in San Diego, a venture the Navy is excited about.

"NASCAR embodies the very best of the American spirit through speed, precision and an unyielding pursuit of excellence," Navy Secretary John C. Phelan said. "Hosting a race aboard Naval Air Station North Island, the birthplace of naval aviation, it's not just a historic first, it's a powerful tribute to the values we share: grit, teamwork and love of country.

"From the flight deck to the finish line, this collaboration reflects the operational intensity and unity of purpose that define both the United States Navy and NASCAR."

The base is known as the "West Coast Quarterdeck" and is a consortium of nine Navy installations that stretch from San Clemente Island 50 miles off the coast of Long Beach to the Mountain Warfare Training Center 50 miles east of San Diego.

NASCAR named Amy Lupo, who has been with the series since 2021 and helped launch the Coliseum event, as president of the race. She spent more than 20 years at ESPN expanding the X Games when she lived in San Diego early in her career. She still lives in Southern California.""

The city of Coronado will soon enjoy a new attraction as NASCAR is confirmed moving to the West Coast.

A recent development indicates that the city of Coronado will soon host a NASCAR race. There are multiple reports, with the official announcement due any-minute.

An official announcement is expected Wednesday, July 23.

Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado appears to be the venue, as the event is scheduled to take place next June. Celebrating the Fourth of July.

It will be a road course containing several twists and turns. Being that it is on the Naval Base, there is plenty of open space to customize the track as needed.

The North Island base has a long history of motorsport.

With views of San Diego Bay, Point Loma, the Coronado Bay Bridge, and the downtown San Diego skyline, this may be one of the best venues for a NASCAR race in the sport’s history.

NASCAR is growing tremendously, and coming to a larger, West Coast comunity helps bring in new fans to the sport. Though there is a rich history of racing in the region, San Diego has never hosted a NASCAR event.

The last time NASCAR was so close to San Diego was in the 80s when they raced annually at Riverside International Speedway. The final NASCAR Cup Series race at Riverside International Raceway was the Budweiser 400, held on June 12, 1988, and was won by Rusty Wallace. The road track closed shortly thereafter.

Like most of southern California, it is now a strip mall and a housing complex. From 1997 to 2023, the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, hosted NASCAR races.

However, that event is now on pause, and rumors suggest that the track will be converted into a short-track venue, effectively ending its use for NASCAR. The window is open for San Diego to host this annual race. The revenue from this event will be huge for the city. NASCAR has closed a major deal to move a new event from Mexico City to San Diego in 2026.

The 'new' street race in San Diego comes after Shane van Gisbergen secured his Cup Series playoff spot with a win on the streets of the heart of the Aztec Empire, Mexico City.

The news comes after NASCAR legend and joint-record title holder Richard Petty told chiefs that road and street courses don't belong in the stock car racing series.

NASCAR revealed plans last year to bring both the Xfinity and Cup Series to the road course at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in 2025.

Thanks to NASCAR's "win and you're in" playoff format, Van Gisbergen's triumph in Mexico City, which Denny Hamlin missed, has guaranteed the Trackhouse Racing driver a place in the postseason, despite being ranked 30th in the Cup standings, far from the top 16.

In the NASCAR racing events, starting from pole position and finishing an unprecedented 16+ seconds ahead of second-place Christopher Bell and third-place Chase Elliott, who commended SVG for his exceptional road course prowess.

He said: "From the standpoint that you got somebody, like I say, that's 30th in the points that's going to make the playoffs, hey man, what happened to the guy that's 15th or 16th or 18th? You know, been running good, finished good everywhere.

"You're making a championship situation by winning a road course, which is not really a NASCAR to begin with. So from that standpoint, I think they're going to have to jockey around and change some of this kind of stuff."

NASCAR Set to Announce 2026 San Diego Street Race

NASCAR will announce this week, its contractual accomplishment with San Diego regional authorities.

When NASCAR took the competition south of the border, the local fans greeted it with cheers and fanfare, crowding drivers for snapshots and signatures, cranking up the hype even among the racing crew.

NASCAR senior executive Ben Kennedy said: "I would say for us, this is more of a strategic move as a sport to expand our footprint globally and internationally and to a new mass fan base. Just being in a region with 90 million people and over 20 million people in the larger California metro alone, not in and of itself, this is a success."

Kennedy added: "We're very hopeful to be in So-Cal for three years to start, perhaps forever."

NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps also emphasized the significance of the event for the drivers. "We've had several game-changing firsts in recent years, but this one is different," he said. "Racing here in Southern California, amongst these passionate fans in such an impressive venue for the first time in NASCAR Cup Series history, is in a word, spectacular. Together, we are doing something that will be remembered in the history of our great sport."

SuperTruck Launches For 'Road To Cabo' Events Announced From Los Cabos Mexico!

"The Ram Trucks SRT/TRX is once again the mightiest half-ton pickup truck on the planet, with the reborn version packing a 777-hp supercharged V-8. Along with an interior that rivals some luxury vehicles, Ram's widebody SuperTruck still rolls on 35-inch off-road tires buoyed by a long-travel suspension.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will go on sale in the second half of 2026, and it will start at $102,590. When Ram discontinued the TRX after the 2024 model year, not only did the world lose one of the most badass off-road trucks to ever come with a factory warranty, but the brand also let its biggest rival go unchallenged. Well, the 720-hp Ford F-150 Raptor R will soon surrender its title as the most powerful half-ton pickup on the planet, because later this year the Ram TRX will rise from the ashes, this time packing a seismic 777 horsepower.

While the reborn TRX looks virtually the same as before it went into hibernation for two years, there are some updates, including those recently applied to the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup. Meanwhile, the dino-themed truck debuts the Bloodshot Night Edition pictured here, which introduces a two-tone color scheme with a hand-painted black upper half and a Flame Red hood stripe. All TRX models also adopt a RAM grille logo outlined in red, and the TRX badge on the tailgate now includes a Tyrannosaurus Rex head.

The return of Ram's SuperTruck also marks the relaunch of the Street and Racing Technology performance division, which was unofficially disbanded years ago, though SRT badges stuck around on various Dodge products, including the current Hellcat-powered Durango. Still, a truck hasn't worn the branding since the Ram SRT-10. That all changes with the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX. Cumbersome name aside, it fulfills the prophecy of being a lot more powerful than its predecessor.

A More Hellacious V-8 Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis says the truck's Hemi V-8 isn't just a retuned version of the previous 6.2-liter. Instead, it's a new variant with revised engine management and hardware from the company's orange and red engine blocks as well as Direct Connection, the source of factory-backed performance parts from Mopar. With help from a 2.4-liter supercharger, the new TRX gains 75 ponies and 30 pound-feet of torque for totals of 777 and 680, respectively.

That power is fed to all four wheels through an upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission. Ram claims the SRT-badged TRX will accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, a full second quicker than the outgoing truck's estimate. When we tested a 2021 TRX, the 702-hp version hit the mile-per-minute mark in 3.7 seconds, so its successor should be even quicker. Its top speed remains 118 mph.

The Ram Trucks SRT/TRX once again features 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires and a fortified chassis. Its long-travel suspension incorporates the latest version of Ram's adaptive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 dampers, and a five-link coil-spring setup controls the solid rear axle. Like before, the truck's off-road tires can be secured with 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels. Ground clearance once again measures 11.8 inches, and the truck's approach, breakover, and departure angles are all slightly better than before.

The new TRX's cabin is even more luxurious, now featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel cap and a full microsuede headliner. The dash and other surfaces are covered in leather, and the carbon fiber you see is real. Along with a head-up display, the driver now faces a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The new 14.5-inch touchscreen runs Uconnect 5 software, and it controls the standard 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. For the first time, the TRX has a hands-free drive mode that works on compatible highways.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is slated to reach dealerships sometime in the second half of this year. With a starting price of $102,590, it will likely cost about $10,000 less than the Ford F-150 Raptor R, which currently starts at $113,525. However, Ram hasn't yet released pricing for the TRX Bloodshot Night Edition that will close the gap with the R-rated Raptor."

The 'official map' for the 2025 SCORE Baja 500 was unveiled, which will take place from June 2 to 9 from Ensenada, Baja Norte, Mexico, featuring 'magical and historic' terrains along its 461.03 race course miles.

SCORE President and Race Director, Jose A. Grijalva, designed a route that includes many traditional areas of the 'magical Baja California Peninsula', along with several new natural off-road areas, in collaboration with SCORE Race Co-Director, Rodolfo Fernandez.

For Fernandez, the SCORE Baja 500 race course is very technical, with some new sections that have not been used in any previous SCORE race, “They are existing paths, but new for SCORE. It will be a very fast coastal section, but very technical in the first part of the course.”

“The preliminary track layout work began before the SCORE San Felipe 250. After the race, we went out to inspect the trails to confirm that they were in suitable condition to be part of the route”.

The race course for the Sportsman classes of motorcycles, trucks cars is 416.43 miles, with a cutoff point in the race course of 50 miles, between mile 200 and mile 259.

THE BAJA 500 2025 RACE COURSE

Because of major fuck-ups during the Roger Norman SCORE ownership years, the kiddie parade green flag will be waved on the Bulevar Costero of Ensenada, where race drivers will need to travel at normal traffic speed along the Federal Highway 1, until reaching Rancho Nelson, where the timing for competitors will begin.

From there, the race course will continue towards the Piedras Gordas ejido, then to Ojos Negros, and further on to 3 Hermanos.

After that, the drivers will exit at kilometer 77 on Federal Highway 1, and enter at kilometer 79, heading towards the Santa Catarina ejido. Racers will pass the famous Goat Trail, then take the highway to Valle de la Trinidad, heading towards Mike’s Sky ranch. From there, they will proceed to La Jolla ranch, then take the highway to the San Pedro Martir Observatory, reach Santa Cruz ranch, then Valladares ranch, and the race course will descend to the Santo Domingo stream. From there, they will head towards the Vicente Guerrero (Pena Colorada) Colony, reaching San Quintin, then heading north towards the San Quintin volcanoes area, continuing on to the Ejido Zarahemla, Camalu, San Jacinto, 4 Casas, Punta Colonet ejido, San Antonio del Mar, and Cerro Solo. The journey will then arrive at the Lopez Rayon ejido, passing the San Vicente stream, and offer a view of the Pacific Ocean near the Erendira ejido. From there, it will cross over to Punta Cabras, pass through the Nativos del Valle ejido, and descend to Santo Tomas, taking the Federal Highway 2 until reaching the Uruapan ejido. After passing the famous hills, the race course will head towards Ojos Negros, and later return to Rancho Nelson, where 7 ramps will be set up in a short course area to cut time for all the race teams.

Another kiddie parade section, racers are forced to drive at moderate speeds along the road back to the Bulevar Costero.

Along the race course, racers will pass through 11 washes, making their way step by step to the checkered flag in Ensenada. The time limit for all competitors to finish the race is 18 hours.

IT’S TIME TO DO THE HOMEWORK

The race course will open for pre-running on Saturday, May 24, with the reminder that race teams must inspect the race course at moderate speeds, not race speeds, comply with traffic laws, and ensure ranch gates are closed where the race will pass.

On Saturday, June 7, the green flag will drop at the Bulevar Costero, with the first motorcycle leaving at 3:30 a.m. PT, while the first 4-wheel vehicle will depart at 9:15 a.m. PT, facing a 460-mile race course. All vehicles will have a 18-hour time limit to become official finishers in the elapsed-time race.

This year’s score BAJA 500 desert off-road race includes another special tribute to the iconic racing event and todays invasion news.

The score Baja 500 was one of the top motorsports events in the world. Now embarassing the Ensenada locals with it's death and destruction, it was started originally in 1969 by the NORRA organization.

After NORRA was removed from Baja after the 1972 race, the local Baja Sports Committee produced the 1973 event. Mickey Thompson and his score International organization were invited by the Mexican government to take over the event starting in 1974. Sal Fish ran and later owned and produced the score Baja 500 for 39 years until he sold score in December of 2012.

The first Baja 500 organized and produced by score was held on July 26, 1974 in Ensenada as the first of nearly 170 score Baja races. This year’s Baja 500 will start for the 51th time in Ensenada and finish for the 47th time in Ensenada.

"Two models and off-road race drivers are recovering in a San Diego-area hospital after their truck burst into flames as one of them remained trapped inside the vehicle. Janey Lee and Kylie Marie Walton were driving their Monster Energy-sponsored truck in the days before this week's San Felipe 250 in Baja California when a fuel cell exploded, according to Lee's husband, Eric. 'Tuesday at approximately 11am, Janey and Kylie were involved in an accident,' Eric said in an Instagram video. 'The car caught fire under Janey's seat and her seat belts did not release.' Eric, a skateboarder and offroad enthusiast, quickly became overwhelmed recounting the details of his wife's near-death experience. Her savior, Eric explained, was Walton, the car's other occupant. 'At that point, [Janey] was fully engulfed in flames, Kylie had to reach in and release the seat belt for her,' Eric said. 'Kylie saved Janey's life. As a result, Kylie's hands were burnt. Janey's gloves and PCI helmet saved her hands and her face.' A photo showing Lee and Walton in a San Diego hospital has surfaced. Both of their extremities are wrapped in gauze but they are each smiling in the picture following their harrowing escape. She's a trooper, and she's in good spirits.' Walton, too, will require surgery, Eric said. 'Kylie's hands were burnt,' Eric continued. 'She will require a little surgery for her hands. Eric went on to thank many members of the 'off-road community' for their support and the helicopter crew that flew the women to safety. The San Felipe 250 is a 250-mile race held on the peninsula of Baja California. It serves as the curtain raiser for the 2026 SCORE World Desert Championship. Lee and Walton are better known for being part of the Monster Energy Girls, a squad of women who are often seen posing alongside athletes at motorsport and MMA events. Female Motorsport Stars Janey Lee and Kylie Marie Walton Hospitalized After Car Catches Fire In Horrific Accident

"A crash, a trapped driver, and a life-saving rescue moment. Racing drivers Janey Lee and Kylie Marie Walton are recovering in a hospital near San Diego after a scary crash. Their truck caught fire while they were preparing for the San Felipe 250. Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, a fuel cell exploded, according to Janey’s husband, Eric Lee. The explosion started a fire under Janey’s seat and trapped her inside the truck. Eric shared the details in an emotional Instagram video. He struggled to hold back tears as he described how close his wife came to dying.

“Tuesday at approximately 11am, Janey and Kylie were involved in an accident. The car caught fire under Janey’s seat and her seat belts did not release,” he said. Lee couldn’t get out by herself as the flames closed in. Walton stepped in and helped right away after the crash. Helping her teammate came at a cost. Walton burned her hands during the rescue, while Lee suffered serious injuries. Doctors are now treating both women for burns. Eric said Lee has “extensive burns” on her legs and will need several surgeries. Her left leg was hurt the most. Doctors also plan to do a skin graft on her shoulder. Even with all this, he said she is staying positive.

Walton will also undergo surgery for her hands. “She’s in good spirits too,” Eric said. “The girls are tough. They really are.” Emergency crews treated them first at a local hospital, then flew them to the United States for more care. Hospital photos show both women smiling, even with bandages on their arms and legs. SCORE International confirmed what happened and said both drivers are in stable condition. Officials also praised the quick response from people at the scene. Lee and Walton first became known as part of the Monster Energy Girls. In recent years, they moved into racing and made their SCORE debut last September."

"This is another example of why you must carry your passport with you at ALL TIMES IN BAJA!!!! You can not be flown back to the US without it. So instead of being able to be flown directly from the scene to the US you have to be flown to a local hospital or airport in baja and wait till your crew can go and get your passport from your hotel or chase truck or wherever it may be. If you are one of the people thinking you're cool going to Baja without a passport then you are in for a long ride back to the border in the back of some "ambulance". Good luck. I had an EVO transfer tank in my Pro R and it doesnt have a real vent. It vents back into the stock tank, which is sealed. Not sure on this specific one but I would assume they are all the same. Now the Mav R might have a vent on their stock tank as well im not sure? My GUESS is one of several things happened, 1. The plastic tank cracked and fuel started leaking out and by the time it leaked back to something hot enough to ignite it such as the transmission there was a big trail of gas that went up instantly. 2. A line or clamp failed. Such as a hose clamp which was not tight enough and backed off the line when pressure was building up in the tank. If you look at the pictures there is a vent line coming out of the tank that is just a push on hose with a hose clamp.......that would be my first guess is that failed and pressure was just pumping fuel out. 3. Someone forgot to put the fuel cap back on the tank under the seat and fuel was splashing out.....highly unlikely but anything is possible. 4. An issue with the internal pump cause some kind of ignition. Very very rare but once again anything is possible. I dont think we will ever know for sure what happened unless maybe the chase crew has the cap and it was left off. lol"

Ejidatarios and private land owners of the ejido National Agrarian Plan, which are the areas of San Felipe where the Baja 250 will run, as well as the fishermen of Buenos Aires, threatened to block the traditional race this Saturday, March 28.

The economic spillover generated by these races will never reach the owners of the land, and in the case of the fishermen it will be as a way of demanding help to alleviate the crisis that suffocates to the sector, if their demands are not met as soon as possible.

In the case of the people of the lands, they indicate that if an agreement is not reached, race kilometers 220, 240 and 260 will be blocked, since only a few do business using the natural infrastructure of others without generating any emolument.

The land owners say, "it is undeniable that the race generates taxes and a spill that benefits hotels and restaurants. "The couple — she in San Felipe, Baja California, in Mexico, and he in Tempe, Arizona — had often taken turns visiting each other. Earlier this month, they talked about Valentine’s Day, planning for a romantic meetup in Tempe. “We had talked about doing social things for Valentine’s Day,” Parrish says. “Going out and getting dinner and things like that, where we were going to go.” After meeting in person for the first time in October 2022 and deciding they were a couple the following summer, there were exciting plans ahead. “We had intended for her to move here permanently in April,” Parrish says. But now, instead of a celebration, Parrish and Bast’s family are in mourning — and looking for answers. “I don’t want to believe she’s gone. I don’t want to believe it,” declares Reynetta Mishler, Mina Bast’s mother. “You know, she’s my heart.” Family members say around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, Bast, a 48-year-old St. Paul native, was walking along the beach near her rental home in San Felipe when she was attacked by a pack of dogs. Parrish says she walked on that same beach regularly. “I’ve been on that beach with her several times,” he explains. “For what reason this time, the pack attacked, not really clear at this point why they attacked. This time they did.” “She died of blood loss by the time people got to her to get the dogs away,” Mishler adds. “To be told that’s what happened to my girl, it’s just hard to comprehend. Really hard.” Published reports from San Felipe say after the attack, local police and a dog rescue group rounded up the dogs. San Felipe Dog Rescue says Mexico has the largest number of “street dogs” in Latin America. The group’s website says the National Institute of Statistics and Geography estimates about 70% of the country’s 18 million dogs live on the street. Parrish says he’s met with a Mexican prosecutor and hopes to speak with some witnesses this coming weekend. “There are a lot of wild dogs, and it’s an ongoing problem in that area,” he says. Parrish says Mexican authorities are trying to determine who owns the nine to 10 dogs involved in Bast’s attack. Mishler says her daughter, who graduated from Como Park High School, moved around a lot and had never married, but she had had high hopes about her relationship with Parrish. Bast’s mother says she has been comforted by the messages of love for Mina Bast on social media. “It just helps my heart to see all these things that they’re writing and the pictures they’re putting up of her,” Mishler exclaims. “I hope she’s at peace wherever she is.” Parrish says he’s still dealing with the loss of his girlfriend and wants to bring her home. “Not having her for Valentine’s Day is very harsh,” he says quietly. “The priority for me right now has really been access to her things and making sure her body’s taken care of.” Friends in the metro say they’re hoping to get Bast home to St. Paul in the next couple of months. They’re also planning a celebration of life on her birthday, July 21. “She just loved art, she loved people,” Parrish says. “She loved being able to make people’s lives better.”"

The Presidents Cup Motorsport 2026, in the Los Cabos Tourism Destination, taking place in San Jose del Cabo in Southern Baja this weekend.

TOYO TIRES CABO 1000 2026 final plans were approved at the local congress meeting, held at the Presidente Resort in San Jose. The official annual junta of the federation, of Mexico.

The historic resort, located at the arroyo boca of the Rio San Jose de Acapules, the original site of the Manila galleons spring of fresh, drinkable water of the 1500's.

The Republic of Mexico Event Authority of the Federation of Touring and Automobile Clubs - "Federación Interamericana de Touring y Automóvil Clubes", met at the Presidents Cup Motorsport 2026 in the Tourism Destination of Los Cabos, on Friday, March 20.

San Jose is the ultimate goal and finish line of "Desert Motorsport". The 80th running of "The Gran-Grandaddy' of all Desert Races", the 'CABO MIL' or TOYO TIRES CABO 1000, is planned for November of this historic racing year, 2026.

A record number of teams is expected to participate. More than 300 teams are participating in the premier Copa Presidente Motorsport 2026 in San José del Cabo from March 20 to 22.

The event brings together local, national and international drivers for mechanical inspections, practice sessions and short-track competitions as part of the Fiestas Tradicionales de San José del Cabo 2026, the community’s annual traditional festival.

Los Cabos City Council Public Relations Director Víctor Montaño said the competition will feature drivers from the local community, across Baja California South (Sur), Mexico and from the United States.

The Copa Presidente Motorsport promises the future Destination of Los Cabos, as one of the region’s most important racing events.

Montaño said the races will be held at the Luis “Loco” Sandoval track and will mark the opening round of the Southern Baja 2026 racing series.

During the weekend prior to the event, drivers will conduct practice runs and track reconnaissance from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., giving motorsports fans an opportunity to watch the preparations.

Technical inspections for participating vehicles took place Thursday, March 20, at Plaza Mijares from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The races will be held March 21 and 22 in a short-track format consisting of 10 laps. The event is part of the Fiestas Tradicionales sports program, helping promote motorsports while encouraging participation from competitors across Mexico and around the globe, both now and in the future.
