NASCAR to host Tripleheader Father’s Day Weekend at Naval Base Coronado SAN DIEGO, California!

Helping celebrate the United States Navy’s 250th anniversary, NASCAR has announced another history-making street race at Naval Base Coronado. Taking place over Father’s Day weekend 2026, NASCAR San Diego will include the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series and the Craftsman Truck Series on June 19-21. “As part of our nation’s 250th anniversary, we are honored for NASCAR to join the celebration as we host our first street race at a military base, Naval Base Coronado,” said Ben Kennedy, EVP, Chief Venue & Racing Innovation Officer.

“NASCAR San Diego Weekend will honor the Navy’s history and the men and women who serve as we take the best motorsports in the world to the streets of Naval Base Coronado.”

""NASCAR will hold a street race on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California in June as a replacement for its downtown Chicago event that ran the past three years.

The shift next year will allow NASCAR to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy by hosting all three of its national series over a three-day weekend from June 19 to June 21.

"As part of our nation's 250th anniversary, we are honored for NASCAR to join the celebration as we host our first street race at a military base, Naval Base Coronado," Ben Kennedy, NASCAR executive vice president and chief venue and racing innovations officer, said in a statement Wednesday.

"NASCAR San Diego Weekend will honor the Navy's history and the men and women who serve as we take the best motorsports in the world to the streets of Naval Base Coronado."

It will be NASCAR's second street race in the sport's history, following the three-year run in Chicago, and first on an active military base. The course layout is not complete but is expected to be around 3 miles.

The move to the San Diego area does not eliminate a return to Chicago, where NASCAR will still maintain an office and attempt an eventual return, perhaps as early as 2027.

NASCAR has seen Auto Club Speedway close after the 2023 race. It built a temporary short track inside Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 2022 through 2024 but moved that event to North Carolina.

Ben Kennedy, who has been bullish on new endeavors for his family business, was the brains of the races at the Coliseum, Chicago, this year's visit to Mexico City and now next year in San Diego, a venture the Navy is excited about.

"Hosting a race aboard Naval Air Station North Island, the birthplace of naval aviation, it's not just a historic first, it's a powerful tribute to the values we share: grit, teamwork and love of country.

The base is known as the "West Coast Quarterdeck" and is a consortium of nine Navy installations that stretch from San Clemente Island 50 miles off the coast of Long Beach to the Mountain Warfare Training Center 50 miles east of San Diego.""

The city of Coronado will soon enjoy a new attraction as NASCAR is confirmed moving to the West Coast.

A recent development indicates that the city of Coronado will soon host a NASCAR race. There are multiple reports, with the official announcement due any-minute.

The official announcement was made Wednesday, July 23.

Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado appears to be the venue, as the event is scheduled to take place next June. Celebrating the Fourth of July.

It will be a road course containing several twists and turns. Being that it is on the Naval Base, there is plenty of open space to customize the track as needed.

The North Island base has a long history of motorsport.

With views of San Diego Bay, Point Loma, the Coronado Bay Bridge, and the downtown San Diego skyline, this may be one of the best venues for a NASCAR race in the sport’s history.

NASCAR is growing tremendously, and coming to a larger, West Coast comunity helps bring in new fans to the sport. Though there is a rich history of racing in the region, San Diego has never hosted a NASCAR event.

The last time NASCAR was so close to San Diego was in the 80s when they raced annually at Riverside International Speedway. The final NASCAR Cup Series race at Riverside International Raceway was the Budweiser 400, held on June 12, 1988, and was won by Rusty Wallace. The road track closed shortly thereafter.

Like most of southern California, it is now a strip mall and a housing complex. From 1997 to 2023, the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, hosted NASCAR races.

However, that event is now on pause, and rumors suggest that the track will be converted into a short-track venue, effectively ending its use for NASCAR. The window is open for San Diego to host this annual race. The revenue from this event will be huge for the city. NASCAR has closed a major deal to move a new event from Mexico City to San Diego in 2026.

The 'new' street race in San Diego comes after Shane van Gisbergen secured his Cup Series playoff spot with a win on the streets of the heart of the Aztec Empire, Mexico City.

The news comes after NASCAR legend and joint-record title holder Richard Petty told chiefs that road and street courses don't belong in the stock car racing series.

NASCAR revealed plans last year to bring both the Xfinity and Cup Series to the road course at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in 2025.

Thanks to NASCAR's "win and you're in" playoff format, Van Gisbergen's triumph in Mexico City, which Denny Hamlin missed, has guaranteed the Trackhouse Racing driver a place in the postseason, despite being ranked 30th in the Cup standings, far from the top 16.

In the NASCAR racing events, starting from pole position and finishing an unprecedented 16+ seconds ahead of second-place Christopher Bell and third-place Chase Elliott, who commended SVG for his exceptional road course prowess.

He said: "From the standpoint that you got somebody, like I say, that's 30th in the points that's going to make the playoffs, hey man, what happened to the guy that's 15th or 16th or 18th? You know, been running good, finished good everywhere.

"You're making a championship situation by winning a road course, which is not really a NASCAR to begin with. So from that standpoint, I think they're going to have to jockey around and change some of this kind of stuff."

NASCAR Set to Announce 2026 San Diego Street Race

NASCAR will announce this week, its contractual accomplishment with San Diego regional authorities.

In finishing scoping for a deal in a 'street course' at San Diego, California, NASCAR is using its 'nitro-technologies' in expanding motorsport horizons, globally.

"The topside of San Diego NASCAR horizons are limitless", said Michael Anthony of the San Diego Speed Festival, at the San Diego County Administration Center yesterday. The press conference clearly outlined the massive lifestyle buy-in for global motorsports, regionally.

"This is the birthplace and nesting center of gravity for motorsport lifestyle", Anthony continued. "San Diego-Southern California USA began the 'fire-brimstone' of American motorsports traditions, long before Daytona and shine runnin'".

Even before Southern California birthed the "Desert Classic", in 1914, "The World's Greatest Driver" Barney Oldfield, in his 'Number Five' 'stockcar' Stutz Bearcat, placed fifth in that years Indy 500 and in the very same stockcar, started at midnight and won the October Desert Classic, an open-road competition from Downtown 'BoomTown' Los Angeles to Phoenix in the eternal five-hundred miler to the heart of the Arizona State Fair, when AZ wasn't even a state! It was territorial Arizona.

Barney Oldfield is also the Number One Historical Member of the Baja Racing Hall Of Fame.

Despite the doubts raised by "The KING" Richard Petty, NASCAR is steering toward an exhilarating new venture in SoCal to take the races to a street course in San Diego, California.

The deal with San Diego is complete and will be announced, anyday.

This move aims to fulfill NASCAR's aspiration of making a splashy return to the heart of Southern California.

This would mark NASCAR's first points race in the area since the indefinite closure of California Speedway in Fontana in 2023. It's been a while since NASCAR's last roar in Southern California, with the previous event being an exhibition race at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum last year.

An official update on the San Diego plans are revving up, since NASCAR hit the brakes on their decision about a 2026 race in Mexico City. San Diego is getting the choice calendar slot, held by the Mexico City event, Fathers Day weekend.

When NASCAR took the competition south of the border, the local fans greeted it with cheers and fanfare, crowding drivers for snapshots and signatures, cranking up the hype even among the racing crew.

NASCAR has its eyes on the prize of a 2026 Latin-Region points race, crossing the finish line in So-Cal!

NASCAR senior executive Ben Kennedy said: "I would say for us, this is more of a strategic move as a sport to expand our footprint globally and internationally and to a new mass fan base. Just being in a region with 90 million people and over 20 million people in the larger California metro alone, not in and of itself, this is a success."

Kennedy added: "We're very hopeful to be in So-Cal for three years to start, perhaps forever."

NASCAR Commissioner Steve Phelps also emphasized the significance of the event for the drivers. "We've had several game-changing firsts in recent years, but this one is different," he said. "Racing here in Southern California, amongst these passionate fans in such an impressive venue for the first time in NASCAR Cup Series history, is in a word, spectacular. Together, we are doing something that will be remembered in the history of our great sport."

In 1975, this reporter attended a movie industry 'screener' for a new science-fiction film named, 'A Boy and His Dog'.

The Director, L.Q. Jones, walked throughout the theatre, before and after the film was shown. Answering questions and engaging with the interested film buffs, Jones was affable and informative.

What started out merely as an afternoon watching a new movie, turned out to be life-long phone tree to Hollywood and a supporter of really fun, hair-brained - business ideas.

As time passed, the meanings of different films and business projects were hashed out, most often the subject was desert racing. Real life characters and unreal locations from Baja Mexico were often pitched as 'movie ideas'.

'The Bandito Brothers' and 'Dust To Glory' were mentioned as was the Mickey Thompson film project and many others. All the pitches to Hollywood, the failed and the success. One success.

One steel thread ran through time, how people were changing and how valuable the time that was left in front of us. Justus was clear as a clarion call about how the road warrior concept on screen had grown from his humble work that we screened in 1975.

The beauty of our mechanical universe, how little time we have to enjoy each other and time itself. Thank you L.Q. Jones.

Baja Racing News LIVE! Reports on Desert Racing's contribution to media mayhem, 'Fury Road'.

While fan excitement was at a fever pitch for Batman v. Superman, the footage at the Fury Road presentation was among the most audacious shown at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and had fans rapt in silence.

Fury is Warner Bros. years in the making prequel to the Mad Max movies from Australian George Miller. The last movie was released in 1985 and all three of the projects starred Mel Gibson.

Moderator Chris Hardwick put Miller on the spot when he joked about Gibson’s fall from Hollywood grace in recent years. “Who knew that Mel would turn into Mad Max at one point," he said. Miller was speechless. Then he tackled the topic diplomatically.

“They have that eternal tension," Miller said, referring to Gibson's charisma. " On one hand they are entirely lovable and accessible. And on the other there is that element of danger … It applies to every charismatic person.”

The new movie stars Tom Hardy as the character originated by Gibson and also features Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult. While the actors were not present, Miller did talk of the journey to make a new movie.

Miller also showed an extended look that featured desert vistas, elaborate and panoramic car chases, skull-drawn characters with an assortment of Medieval weaponry, and an epic electrical storm with tornadoes in which the heroes drive into while being chased. The scenes were intense in their action and, most importantly, looked like something audience have seen in a previous film in the series.

“It was very familiar,” said Miller about returning to the Mad Max world. “A lot of time has passed. Technology has changed. It was an interesting thing to do. Crazy, but interesting.”

He called the movie work as “a Western on wheels. Even if it’s in the future, we have gone back the more elemental behaviors. More medieval. The setting is very spare and clear.”

It’s been a long, hard road to get to the long, hard road of “Mad Max: Fury Road” — but we’re almost there.

At San Diego Comic-Con, director George Miller and Warner Bros. brought the new “Mad Max” movie to fans, with some concept art and new footage that pulled the curtain back a bit on a film that’s essentially just one gigantic chase sequence.

“The story popped in my head and just wouldn’t get away, like an imaginary friend,” Miller said. “I love chase movies; I think they’re the purest form of cinema. That’s where the film language started. I wanted to make one long, extended chase, and see what we could pick up about the characters along the way.”

The “extended chase sequence” is on full display in the footage that Miller brought to Comic-Con. It begins with a long-haired Tom Hardy as Max, stomping on a lizard, then eating it. He hops in his muscle car and drives off into the barren desert — and before long, he’s captured by monstrous looking thugs, who take him to their lair, shave his hair off, tattoo him and chain him up — complete with a muzzle that looks almost Bane-esque. Except some “Fury Road”/”Dark Knight Rises” mash-ups come 2015.

The action picks up when Charlize Theron’s Furiosa and her band attack Max’s captors, instigating an insanely kinetic chase sequence with roaring muscle cars, exploding trucks, electric dust storms, flying bodies, and entirely unrecognizable and crazy performance from Nicolas Hoult.

At one point, muzzled Max, chained to the back of Hoult’s car, watches in awe as trucks and cars get swirled up into a flaming dust storm, exploding and sending bodies flying every which way. The shot is unflinching, the violence unforgiving; the scene seems to be on the edge of ending at every turn, but it just keeps going, getting more and more brutal and loud, until Hoult finally cuts the tension:
“What a lovely day,” he shouts. “What a lovely day!”
It’s just a taste of the non-stop action that Miller has in mind for “Fury Road.” He said that it was a “crazy but interesting” experience to go back to the world of “Mad Max,” but casting his three leads made the job much easier.

“People often say that 75% of your job is done as a director in the casting,” he said. “I was waiting for someone like Tom Hardy to come along; he has all the qualities. And Charlize, when you get to see the movie, there are certain dimensions of Charlize that fit the character of Furiosa. And the same, in many ways, with Nick Hoult.”

Miller said that he didn’t want to make “Fury Road” in a conventional way; as such, rather than writing a script, he first teamed up with co-writer and artist Brendan McCarthy to storyboard the entire film “as one long comic book; it was 3,500 panels. There’s not many words spoken in the movie. People only speak when they have to. I wanted to tell the story as best as possible in pictures.”

Even with new actors and new technology, Miller said that “Fury Road” calls back to the themes and tone prevalent throughout “Mad Max,” especially “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.”

“There’s no rule of law. There’s no honor,” he said. “People are just surviving. It’s like a Western: a very spare and clear movie. You can get away from all the clever.”

Here are 10 things more we learned about Mad Max: Fury Road from George Miller:

1. “Of course [Tom Hardy's performance] is based on the same character Mel [Gibson] played: the lone warrior in the wasteland, basically disengaged from the rest of the world. Naturally Tom brings his Tom Hardiness to it. The character is different, to some degree, because the story is different. Yes, it’s different, but no, he’s essentially grown out of the same material.”
2. “It’s a very compelling world to work with, because it’s allegorical. I think Westerns were basically what cinema grew up on, from the silent era on, because they were accessible elemental stories. That’s the attraction of working in this post-apocalyptic Mad Max world. Getting back into the world, it felt familiar in many ways, but also very, very strange. So much has changed. The technology has changed. We shot with digital cameras. You can do a lot more. You can now put cameras anywhere. I was able to get cameras where I never would’ve been able to with the first Mad Max.”
3. “We had a lot of the actors do their own stunts. When you see the movie, you’ll see them doing the actual stunts. We probably would’ve been criminal to do that in the old days, but now we can keep them safe with harnesses.”
4. “We are sort of doomed to repeat the whole history. We do change with information and so on, but…The Road Warrior was basically based on oil wars. Back in the early 1970s people essentially went to war over oil, and since then we’ve practically been fighting oil wars ever since. Now, in some places in the world, there are water wars, even in my own country. Well, there’s no war, but there’s a huge dispute over water and a financial crisis.”
5. “I didn’t want to tell the film with a lot of dialogue. It’s a world where people say very little. We basically have one extended chase where you discover the backstory of the characters along the way. A post-apocalyptic world allows you to make it very, very element. I like to call it a Western on wheels.”
6. “The movie is a chase. It’s very hard when people are chasing across the wasteland to write that in words; it’s much easier to do that in pictures. Because it’s almost a continued chase, you have to connect one shot to the other. The obvious way to do that was with storyboards [which is what they did first], then put words in later. I worked with three really fine storyboard artists and graphic novelists. We sat in a big room and instead of writing it down, we’d say, ‘So this guy throws a thunderstick at a car and there’s an explosion.’ You can write that, but exactly where the thunderstick is, where the car is, and the explosion, it’s very hard to get those dimensions, so we would draw it. We ended up with 3,500 panels, which almost becomes the equivelant to the number of shots in the movie.”
7. “Animation is much more thoughtful. Shooting movies is much like a sport. Making an animation is much more like writing about a sport. In the middle of a football game, I imagine you don’t have much time to think, so, like film, you’re just going out and shooting it. There’s also an exhilaration to it: it’s tough and, logistically, a bit of a military exercise. It’s tough, especially in the middle of a desert in the west coast of Africa. It’s pretty spare out there. We wanted to do this movie old school. It’s not a big CG movie. There’s CG in it, but, as I said, every stunt you see is real involving real people, often involving members of the real cast. That was a big logistical exercise, which brings with it a certain amount of anxiety.”
8. “It’s not super-reality, but it’s close to an imagined reality. They don’t have super powers. They can’t do anything against the laws of physics. Everything has to have a rigorous logic when you’re creating the world for people to believe it. When people get hurt, they get hurt. Charlize Theron’s character, Furiosa, has a mechanical arm. It’s more 19th century technology. She’s not a cyborg. Going back to WWI and pre-WWI photographs you see people with doozy mechanical arms and so on.”
9. “I didn’t want to do another Mad Max movie, because I had done three and I do have a lot of stories I want to tell. The story came to me over 12 years ago. I kept on pushing it away, but I find those stories that keep playing in your mind to be the ones you should pay attention to. I made a deal with myself if I could have the visuals come first and do it this way — with storyboards, not writing a screenplay — then I’d do it.”
10. “This is long history, but in the earlier part of the decade Mel Gibson was cast in the movie. We were about to shoot, but then 9/11 happened. That caused a whole lot of issues, not the least of which the decline of the American dollar. We lost a significant amount of our budget. At the same time, we had to move on Happy Feet, which took four years. By the time we came off that… it wasn’t the story of an old Mad Max, it’s a story about a younger Mad Max. I had to find a new Mad Max. Luckily, Tom Hardy came along.”

L.Q. Jones, ‘Wild Bunch’ Actor and Member of Peckinpah’s Posse, named to Hall Of Fame!

Famed BAJA Racing Hall of FAME Booster and Hollywood Trailblazer, L.Q. Jones, born Justus Ellis McQueen Jr., passed into American History in Hollywood on July 9, 2022.

As the famed actor, he played bad guys in a bunch of Westerns and also directed, co-wrote and produced the cult sci-fi hit - 'A Boy and His Dog'.

The famed L.Q. Jones, colorful character actor who worked on dozens of Westerns, including the Sam Peckinpah classics The Wild Bunch and Ride the High Country as a member of the famed filmmaker’s regular posse.

'Justus' was the first 'Booster' of the Hall Of Fame, our first 'Bonafide Booster', now named as an Official Member.

Mario Fortino Alfonso Moreno Reyes (12 August 1911 – 20 April 1993), known by the stage name Cantinflas (Spanish pronunciation: [kanˈtinflas]), was a Mexican comedian, actor, filmmaker and the most important Baja racing fanatic in the world.

He is considered to have been the most widely-accomplished Mexican comedian and is celebrated throughout Latin America and in Spain as a popular icon. His humor, loaded with Mexican linguistic features of intonation, vocabulary, and syntax, is beloved in all the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America and in Spain and has given rise to a range of expressions including cantinflear, cantinflada, cantinflesco, and cantinflero.

Though some of his films were translated into English and French, the wordplay was so particular to Mexican Spanish, that it was difficult to translate.

He often portrayed impoverished farmers or a peasant of pelado origin. "The peladito is the creature who came from the carpas* with a face stained with flour or white paint, dressed in rags, the pants below the waist and covered with patches, the belt replaced by an old tie, the peaked cap representing a hat, the ruffled underwear that shows at any provocation, the torn shirt, and gabardine across his left shoulder". – Cantiflas. The character allowed Cantinflas to establish a long, successful film career that included a foray into Hollywood. Because of the security knowledge, he gained during intelligence training, he knew that computers would become increasingly important. Off-road race motorcycle rider Jason Hogan died of hyperthermia during the Score Baja 500 competition on the Ensenada to San Felipe highway.

The Medical Examiner's Service confirmed that the cause of death of the 55-year-old American was heat stroke due to the high temperatures in the region. This is the first death from hyperthermia in an off-road race, while it is the third death from heat stroke that is recorded in Baja California during this season; the first two were in Mexicali, where climatic conditions generate this type of death. On Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the Ejido Héroes de la Independencia, at kilometer 83 of the highway from the port of Ensenada in the Pacific Ocean to San Felipe, in the Gulf of California, Jason Hogan collapsed during the course of the Pro Moto 50 category. The first report indicated that it had been an accident due to the conditions of the wild road on which the road develops, waiting to inspect if there had been any mechanical damage. Everything was ruled out this Sunday with the forensic medical report, which indicates that the fall suffered by the motorcyclist was due to the symptoms of heat stroke, whose symptomatology is an accelerated pulse, throbbing headache, dizziness, confusion and fainting. Due to the conditions of the road, at mile 324 in the area known as Cordillera de Molina, a rescue group entered the area of the accident and was transferred by emergency helicopter to an aid station of the competition, where the paramedics of the Red Cross confirmed that he no longer had vital signs."

Toyo Tires Drivers Dominate the 58th SCORE Baja 1000 and Capture Multiple Class Championships for the 2025 Season

ENSENADA, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO – Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (Toyo Tires®) and its drivers dominated the 58th SCORE Baja 1000 while securing a third consecutive SCORE Trophy Truck championship spanning the 2023 through 2025 seasons.

Alan Ampudia repeated as the overall season champion after winning three of the four races in 2025, while Bryce Menzies won the Baja 1000 to help complete a season sweep for Team Toyo.

In addition, Team Toyo earned class wins and season championships in both the Trophy Truck Legends and Trophy Truck Spec categories. Rounding out this historic race weekend, Toyo Tires drivers piloted the first hybrid-powered vehicle to ever complete the demanding SCORE Baja 1000.

In the SCORE Trophy Truck class, Bryce Menzies claimed the overall race victory at the Baja 1000. The win marked the first Baja 1000 triumph of Polvoorde’s career and the second for Menzies, as their 1,200 horsepower #94 Optima Batteries / AWD Mason Motorsports / Ford Raptor truck raced to the finish line after a day filled with nonstop battles for the lead. Equipped with Toyo Open Country® M/T-R™ tires, the duo secured the win with an official time of 15 hours, 48 minutes, and 24 seconds.

Meanwhile, Alan Ampudia crossed the Baja 1000 finish line with a time of 17 hours, 30 minutes, and 51 seconds to capture the 2025 SCORE World Trophy Truck Championship, securing Team Toyo’s third consecutive overall championship.

Ampudia and his #1 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires / AWD Mason Motorsports / Ford Raptor claimed victories at the San Felipe 250, the Baja 500, and the Baja 400, commanding the points leaderboard to take home back-to-back championships in 2024 and 2025.

Ampudia’s performance this year was nothing short of dominant, showcasing his consistency and further cementing his championship-winning pedigree.

In the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class, Gustavo Vildósola Sr. continued to make history after taking first in class, marking his 16th consecutive victory in his #1L Mason Motorsports / Toyo Tires / Vildosola Racing / Ford Raptor. With co-drivers Ricky Johnson and Mike Coleman, they finished the course in 17 hours, 47 minutes, and 9 seconds on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires. Gustavo Vildósola Sr. completed another perfect season, taking home his fourth consecutive SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class championship in dominating fashion.

In the SCORE Trophy Truck Spec class, Brent Fox, alongside co-drivers Brady Fox and Preston Brigman, claimed the class victory at the Baja 1000 in their #282 Ford Raptor / 1 Nine Industries truck with a winning time of 17 hours, 0 minutes, and 56 seconds. In addition, Justin Davis and his #285 Green Army / Team TSCO-Chevy truck captured the overall Trophy Truck Spec championship for the 2025 season, securing another class title for Team Toyo this year.

In addition to the monumental race wins over the weekend, the JAOS team and their Lexus GX550h made history as the first hybrid-powered vehicle to ever complete the demanding SCORE Baja 1000 course while relying on off-the-shelf Toyo Open Country® R/T Trail™ tires.

“We completed what we set out to do from the start of the season, to win back-to-back championships!” said Alan Ampudia.

Baja Racing in Mexico Abuser, 'US Central Intelligence Agency' (CIA), Accused by the Trump controlled US Federal Bureau of Investigation

A senior CIA official with top secret-level clearance is accused of stealing hundreds of gold bars worth more than $40 million from the federal government and stashing them in his home.

David Rush was arrested and charged with criminal theft of public money last week, according to Trump federal court filings in the state of Virginia, where he (subject David Rush) lives.

From November to March 2026, Rush requested and received a “significant quantity of foreign currency and tens of millions of dollars in gold bars for work-related expenses,” according to an affidavit from a Trump FBI agent investigating the case.

The Trump federal affidavit says it's unclear what Rush intended to use the funds for, but that a portion of it was found in a storage space near his office.

Trump federal officials searched his home on May 18 and seized more than 300 gold bars with an estimated value of more than $40 million, according to the affidavit. They also seized roughly $2 million in U.S. currency and some 35 luxury watches, many of them Rolexes. Rush was arrested the next day, the Trump FBI said.

The Trump FBI affidavit concludes that there’s probable cause to believe that Rush “knowingly embezzled, stole, purloined, or knowingly converted a thing of value of the Trump federal government” for his personal use.

The Trump FBI said it was working with the US CIA and Trump Department of Justice in its investigation. Rush’s lawyer declined to comment Wednesday. It’s not clear what role Rush had at the CIA or when he left the agency. He’s described in court filings simply as a “former senior executive service-level employee at a United States government agency.”

Spokespersons for the Trump FBI declined to comment further, and the USCIA didn’t respond to an email. ""Intel analysts close to the reporting, assert ""Donald J. Trump has been a cut-out of the USCIA for decades. Today, the agency has turned on its former deniable dumbass.""

The Trump FBI affidavit also notes that Rush appears to have lied for years about his education and military background.

The Trump FBI’s investigation found he had falsely claimed to be a Navy pilot and that he’d graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

Instead, they found he had enlisted in the Navy in 1997 and then served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 2004 until 2015, when he was honorably discharged as a lieutenant. The affidavit states he does not appear to have underwent any evaluations as a pilot during that time, and he did not attend either college. Rush is being held in custody pending a hearing Friday in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia."

More reasons for international traveling men, going to Baja Mexico, included motor racing activities as early as the 1920's.

The "Worlds Fair" noted above, was based in San Diego, just across the river from the black-lawed Tijuana, Mexico

Tijuana bibles (also known as eight-pagers, Tillie-and-Mac books, Jiggs-and-Maggie books, jo-jo books, bluesies, blue-bibles, gray-backs, and two-by-fours, were palm-sized pornographic comic books produced in the United States from the 1920s to the early 1960s.

Their popularity peaked during the Great Depression era. Most Tijuana bibles were obscene parodies of popular newspaper comic strips of the day, such as "Blondie", "Barney Google", "Moon Mullins", "Popeye", "Tillie the Toiler", "The Katzenjammer Kids", "Dick Tracy", "Little Orphan Annie" and "Bringing Up Father".

Others made use of characters based on popular movie stars, and sports stars of the day, such as Mae West, Clark Gable and Joe Louis, sometimes with names thinly changed. Before World War II, almost all the stories were humorous and frequently were cartoon versions of well-known dirty jokes that had been making the rounds for decades.

The artists, writers, and publishers of these booklets are generally unknown, as their publication was illegal, clandestine, and anonymous. The quality of the artwork varied widely. The subjects are explicit sexual escapades usually featuring well-known newspaper comic strip characters, movie stars, and (rarely) political figures, invariably used without respect for either copyright or libel law and without permission.

Tijuana bibles featured ethnic stereotypes found in popular culture at the time, although one Tijuana bible ("You Nazi Man") concluded on a serious note with a brief message from the publisher pleading for greater tolerance in Germany for the Jews.

The typical 'Tijuana Bible' was an eight-panel comic strip in a wallet-sized 2.5 in × 4 in (64 mm × 102 mm) format with black print on cheap white paper and running eight pages in length.

Characters by the names of Tillie and Mac are thought to have been the first Tijuana bible stars, along with Maggie and Jiggs from the popular newspaper strip Bringing Up Father. Tillie was soon followed by Winnie Winkle, Dumb Dora, Dixie Dugan, Fritzi Ritz, Ella Cinders, and other familiar comic strip characters stamped in the same mold.

Popeye and Blondie were the most popular cartoon characters appearing in Tijuana bibles in the 1930s, judging by the number of their appearances. The first celebrity bibles were based on real-life newspaper tabloid sex scandals such as the Peaches and Daddy Browning case which made headlines in 1926. Ten years later, an entire series of bibles by one unknown artist obscenely lampooned Wallis Simpson and the King of England.

By far the most popular celebrity character was Mae West, but virtually every major Hollywood star of the era was featured in the Tijuana bibles, obscenely and libelously. A popular comic strip character such as Tillie or Blondie might appear in as many as 40 eight-pagers drawn by ten artists. An entire series of ten bibles drawn by Mr. Prolific was based on famous gangsters; Legs Diamond, Al Capone, and Machine Gun Kelly were featured, while the artist working under the alias "Elmer Zilch" drew a set of eight comics about famous boxers such as Jack Dempsey.

Jack Dempsey will be a featured notable in my next story in a series focused on Baja California.

What started as extra activities in Mexico, grew into extra-prohibition business, exclusively based in Baja California, due to legal gambling and prostitution.

Pictured below, from the 50's into the 1960's, Baja emerged as 'racy'. Stories of exotic locales, lenient street law and ladies from all over latin America drew adventure seekers.

Treasures of all kinds were found and enjoyed over the decades, on the majestic peninsula of Baja California, Mexico!

In Rosarito, many hotels and a major casino developed. Even under conservative leadership, the acceptance of more liberal street laws did occur, for a short time.

While it lasted in the 20's and 30's, Rosarito had gambling, widespread drinking and open prostitution.

One strip club, in the 90's operated under the name 'Chicas and Beers' on the main drag.

However, not to the extent of the balance of the state of Baja California.

In the municipality of Mexicali, the state capital even allowed more liberal street rules.

In San Felipe, conservative town leadership restricts liberal street rules. But, clubs like 'Iguana's' had short operation lives.

Throughout the Republic of Mexico, over time, from the 20's to the 50's, being right next to the very liberal United States, even the conservative Mexicans, changed.

Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate and Ensenada became well organized dens of inequities.

Hollywood starlets were not immune to the allure of Old Mexico. Errol Flynn was commonly known to take his sailboat, with girlfriend contraband onboard, to shelter at Bahia Ensenada in the 20's through the 40's.

Away from prying eyes and the hidden cameras and microphones of the twisted g-men of J. Edgar Hoover.

By the 50's, Hollywood knew where to go in Mexico, to get their kicks, in private.

In Mexico, the high-flying found rare refuge!

The crimes came naturally with the business. Widespread conflict came with the untold wealth being transferred between wildly different publics and ethics.

There had been cross-border sex trade early in the Mexican-USA border regions, but until the legal gambling and drinking business, the volumes of currencies weren't all that much fought over.

That changed in the 1920's and lasted well into the 1950's.

The border region crimes permeated both sides of the border.

Ladies from all over latin America were 'discovered' in Baja Mexico. They were made famous in Southern California, Vegas and New York City as these beauties were displayed on magazine covers around the globe!

Many were married by smitten gentlemen after their introductions in clubs and courtships, after their family approvals came in, from Patagonia to Mexicali.

At Paris in Ensenada, glamorous public displays became commonplace. Visitors from Vegas, New York City and Europe drew professionals from the interior of Mexico and Cuba.

At Anthony's in Ensenada, a more down-home crowd was invited to mix and mingle with the visitors, the 'touristas'. Couples from North America often dropped in looking for, lets say, extra participants.

Anthony, 'the Gorilla', often danced with the cabaret fare.

The promotions in the 60's started out looking very much like Vegas, because, the Vegas publicity men were visiting Baja and becoming big fans of "Down South".

Throughout the last thirty years, the club scene has made its way onto contingency during the Baja races. The need for attractive, promotional 'racing girls' grew and is now a major attraction in the racing scene in Mexico.

In the modern era, clubs in extreme southern Baja grew to meet the demand of a growing tourism sector.

By the 1970's La Paz and San Lucas accepted tolerant local rules and the business grew.

E! wanted to do a 'Baja' oriented Wild On program. But, they didn't really know the peninsula and were leary of Mexico. They had already done a 'Mexican riviera show, with a very brief Cabo beach piece. Safari Club knew what they really wanted, even though E!, didn't.

Wild On Baja, by Baja Safari

Safari Club was contacted by E! Entertainment for a TV special on Baja California, Mexico. This wasn't that unusual. Baja Safari has daily working relationships with Hollywood for Baja. The nature of the show, was unusual.

Wild On! was known for off-the hook party, outdoor action and twisted clips from all over thew world. Safari Club is known for delivering the goods to VIP's who want to get in to Mexico, get their kicks undercover and get the hell out.

Cabo has greatly improved in the last twenty years. Then, Cabo was a hot destination, not yet 'jet-setter' status, but good. It wasn't the golf haven yet, but the first American owned resorts were still there. The old school, heavy hitter gringos were still there. The ones that made the place.

Kelly served as host for what turned out to be a successful pilot, the show went on for 7 ~~seasons~~. Shows.

We were also tasked for all the location services for the new pilot, too be shot in Los Cabos, Mexico. All chalked up to happen after the Wild On shoot was wrapped.

Scheduled on that shoot was the first season, second place finisher, one Kelly Wiglesworth, from the new CBS TV show, "Survivor". We mapped out some really cool Sea of Cortez and local mountains activities, terrific Safari stuff.

The first day, we set up the vehicles for the shoots and chose the 'Mexican Porsche' for the first day. The old VW bug-convertible, no longer available for rent in Mexico. Hint, a San Diego company has a whole fleet of the old rentals from Cabo. Contact Baja Safari for details!

Setting up logistics for shoots or groups, anything over ten people is always challenging in Mexico. Even the experts get nailed from time to time in Mexico.

Welcome to Baja-Mexico! Speaking to the Daily Star Newspaper, show contestant and brain surgeon Mano Shanmuganathan called the incident “bizarre” and said he was shocked to see Grylls in the state he was in.

"The irony of Bear, the super-survivalist being stung, having the potential of a deadly allergic reaction, and needing to be treated with an EpiPen, was a bizarre moment,” said Shanmuganathan. “That was crazy!"

The program star, 'Bear Grylls' Edward Michael Grylls, got stung by a Baja honey-bee and needed medical help, that's why his eyes are swollen, almost completely shut.

In southern Baja, wasps and skunks are the most likely culprits in outdoor medical emergencies. Shocker!

Not to mention, the lack of geographical knowledge most people have about the magnificent peninsula, Baja. The video above is an excellent example. Most of the shots are from Southern, not Baja California (North-Norte)!

We did some drive shots in between the airport and the hotel and hit the 'Medano - Dune Beach' for lunch. At the Safari Club office on the beach for the hand made creations we all dream about back in the states. The salsas are made fresh daily and all the libations were ice cold. But, Brooke made it clear, she knows Cabo and at the spur of the moment decides she wants to go to Lovers Beach.

She arranged the panga for the short transfer and led the her newbies over to one of the best beaches in the world, for a unscheduled beach shoot for her next calendar project. We jumped off the boat into the surf and onto the stretch of sand and rocks that makes up the famous arch, 'El Arco'.

The strip down was pro. Obviously, she's layered and changed bikinis hundreds of times. It didn't hurt that she brought her assistant, boyfriend, to help with the quick changes.

The shoot went long into the early evening, we stayed out on the beach, against the local rules to be off by sunset. We payed the pangero, some extra coin to pick us up after sundown. The picture above, is on Lovers Beach just as we were wrapping the Calendar and TV stuff, we thought we were done for the day. It was the beginning of a long, long, late crazy night in Cabo.

After landing back on shore and getting back to our suites to clean up for dinner, some of the Safari Club groupies got into trouble. Ruth Camacho had been stung by a scorpion in her hotel room. She was reaching for her shoes and the insect was inside and stung her finger. Luckily, Ruth is a trooper, a desert girl.

She was a mainstay of a group of local girls who loved when American celebrities were in town and would tag along for even more local color and drama. Five of the hottest chicas in Mexico. Some even former Miss Baja California Sur, models.

Two, are also Baja desert off-road racers! Elizabeth Wayas, the blonde and Rosalinda Wayas, the raven haired lightning bolt from
La Paz. Yes, sisters! La Paz was on the schedule later in the week, but they wanted some fun now and met us in Cabo, to tag along.

Rosalinda Wayas or as she is known in La Paz, Linda, is seen in the Wild On Baja Promo saying,
"In Cabo San Lucas, you can be Superman in the night!".

Rosalinda was "discovered" after the program aired in the United States. She later became one of the most recognizable models in Mexico. Rosalinda drove the Wayas Team off-road racer during the shoot and is seen in her hot bikini top in the show.

Sponsoring racing teams was something Baja Safari did as a habit for over ten years. We received lots of sponsorships, like from our first original motorsports sponsor, World Famous George Hurst, in the mid-eighties. Up until just two years ago, we sponsored many Mexican desert racers. Baja Safari promoted grass root Baja racers.

We found out how 'Special' the high-end, American racers were when we handed a handful of 'comp' membership packages to motorsports figures at the Baja Safari sponsored San Diego premiere of "Dust To Glory".

Each included comp annual Mexican insurance for all of his chase teams, their volunteers, for the year.

Ruth treated the pain like it was a bee sting and was on time for the group to make its way over for dinner, to start the night. We had scheduled a full-blown flaumbay-fire-dinner at the incredible, now historic, The Well, La Noria Restaurant. The restaurant pulled out all the stops. The best steaks and seafood of Cabo San Lucas, served under the stars Mexican BBQ style, overlooking Bahia San Lucas.

La Noria was located at the original site of the first water well at Cabo. The well had a long history of pirates, American whalers and Spanish gold seekers, but, that's another story. Coming Soon...

Dinner at La Noria exceeded all of our expectations. Three chefs, the finest ingredients and two cameras to catch it all, while the crew, talent and our local CABO Safari Resort travel specialists got fed! These shoots are always about good food and good times. We thanked the late Dennis Wolf, for the exceptional event at La Noria.

OK, we rounded up the Off-Road Network ready Jeeps and swung into action, dropping into the rarified air and tribal drums going off from the night-life clubs of Cabo, we were ready for anything.

the "Here Comes The Pain", Summer Schedule!

The E! TV cameras rolled and the talent rocked, your humble reporter was there for the ride!
The first clubs we hit were the Cosmic Oyster Bar, Rainbow Bar and Planet Hollywood. All, no longer open in Cabo. Long suffering clubs, that often were filled with clubbers on weekends and struggled during the week for paying customers.

But, this was a holiday Friday night. It was ON! Little did we know at the time, it was to be the blowout Cabo Club night of all time. The night was young and we would end up staying out until the sun rose, the next day.

Next we made it to the Gigglin' Marlin for their great dance party and a chance to string up the virgin girls. Virgin Cabo experienced girls. Then we hit the Smallest Bar In Baja and The Jungle Bar. We were just getting started.

At every place we stopped, there were drinking adventures and things to discover. The original mixture of the Margarita, the original Baja Caesar Salad, every unique Baja drink and food item found in Cabo was discussed and experienced.

While in the Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagar was playing at the club this night, a sight happened that will go down in Baja history. By this time it was past midnight and lots of the gringos had already had too much to drink. Including the chicas.

Brooke had hung with the group until now, she stayed at the next venue for a few minutes, then talked us into letting her and her boyfriend, get back to the hotel. Lightweight!

At the Wabo, the place was packed and Sammy was drinking his 'Vitamin T' (he was getting hammered) and was just halfway through his show, when one of the American girls up in the go-go rack, the metal cage high above the stage on the left side of the building, had hiked up her skirt to her waist, exposing everything to the packed joint!

The witnesses to this had never seen such a thing in Cabo nightlife, maybe the E! Entertainment cameras and the hottest girls in Mexico were too much for her. Sammy and Vitamin T helped! Right in the middle of Sammys set and in the middle of "Can't Drive 55", she reached down and began to get herself off!

After minutes of this, Sammy finally noticed the hot gringa-chica, finished his song, then championed her to climax!

In front of God and everyone at the Wabo, cheering! The place was packed, the cheering was loud. She finished. A long time Cabo professional, our manager down there, who helped MTV and the Wabo Cantina open years ago, said it was a singular historic event. No-one remembers anything like that happening, virtually on-stage, in Cabo San Lucas.

So, the show closes and we are still good to go. The local girls had some friends who worked at the joint across the street, we went in to visit.

First we went into Mermaids, the famous 'gentlemans club.

Then to the colorful place, next door, connected by an interior golden gilded hallway, that those lucky enough, would be led by the hand to the next door joint and a little piece of heaven.

It's called Splash.
The only legal, bottomless bar in Baja Mexico.
No, that's not a reference about the booze!

It was late, even for a strip joint. But, because Sammy was in town, the place was packed. We had permission to shoot inside, the one and only time it was granted at Splash. At first the dancers didn't want to be filmed. Understandable, since they were young and one girl had family in Tijuana and hadn't yet told her mom she was "dancing" in Cabo.

Even with their friends form old times visiting, they didn't immediately approve. But, they relented, when they found out who was shooting. E!, with the pretty brunnette they had watched on American television. The same way we had been followed from club to club, by an ever growing line of g-string wearing hotties from So-Cal.

They shot some crazy stuff in that little joint. Splash went off, loud American Rock'N'Roll, Metallica! and some partially drunk and hot Mexican dancers. One camera was catching it all, when one of the dancers did the unthinkable! She had taken it upon herself to start posing on a table and start a long, slow strip dance.

She wanted all the attention for herself.

It was 2 AM, the place was going sideways, when the stripped dancer on the table, dropped her panties and began what can only be called, a slow seduction of herself! Her hand had dropped and she was pleasuring in front of the TV camera and the shocked crew, including the producer. Later, our line producer Frank, would deny the event ever took place.

Some of her fellow co-workers, joined her in the event. By that time, the whole club was focused on this super-hot Mexican dancer, frigging her way to sexctazy. With three of her equally hot friends cheering her onward.

The night had become, a virtual nuclear-beer commercial, never to be forgotten.

We all needed many, very cold beers, to remain professional. Too stay out of jail that night. For those of our esteemed readers who want a copy of that nights Splash scene, contact Keith Ebow, the porn perp camerman from the network.

By 3 AM, we had not even made it to 'Squid' Roe and the after hour, sunrise joint yet!

In the old club days in Cabo, there were a handful of public clubs, open to sunrise.

La Paz, The Capital Of Off-Road!

Our fearless leader of Baja Safari, remembers the La Paz shoot as his favorite.

He was tasked with driving Neriah from Cabo to La Paz. After arriving at their destination, the intimate Cabanas at Los Arcos (Now closed) Neriah wanted to walk out to the closest ATM in town from the hotel. As our leader insisted on providing security for the model Neriah, at first she questioned the need.

By the time they arrived back at Cabanas, Neriah had a line of local men following her. She was like a glowing white moth, a flickering bright candle in a dark cave, easy to spot and for the local guys, a mesmerizing and irresistible sight.

Just outside of La Paz, we set up an outdoor shoot, with the Wayas Racing Team of La Paz, it did not disappoint!

A 1600 race buggy, one of the hottest couple of ladies E! Entertainment ever shot in their natural environment, the beaches of southern Baja, showing all the great off-road racing experiences of the area.

From that point, Rosalinda became one of the International reps with Playboy International from Mexico and
Neriah Davis became one of the first high-end online porn stars with her own paying website!

The topper of the entire Wild On Baja program was the night in the local La Paz clubs. La-Paz-Lapa and
Las Varitas, the baddest Rock'N'Roll joints in Southern Baja.

In 1999, the 5’7” stunner auditioned for host of E! Entertainment’s popular travel series, “Wild On” (1997-2002) when outgoing host Jules Asner decided to switch from exotic locales to the local “E! News Live” department.

Burke’s dependable Irish luck – as well as her obvious assets – did the trick yet again when she landed the career-making gig. Her induction to the crazy world of “Wild On” was indeed wild, but also wet, to say the least. Burke headed to Spain for the annual La Tomatina Festival, in which a crowd 30,000 strong bombarded each other with tomatoes from local vineyards – “the largest food fight in the world.” Seeing the gorgeous girl dripping in tomatoes – and most importantly, loving every minute of it – endeared her to fans immediately. Unlike Asner – who often appeared disinterested in parasailing or jumping out of planes – Burke immersed herself in the action and the culture each and every time. And the bikinis did not hurt either.

With Burke scantily clad on beaches or dancing in sweaty nightclubs, viewers began tuning in en mass, making “Wild On” the network's No. 2 show behind “Howard Stern.” Posing for Playboy in May, 2001 only added to her aura as the sexiest tour guide on the planet. In 1998, the hostess, who admitted to having had breast enhancement surgery at age 19, met Dr. Garth Fisher, a renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon.

Not long after their whirlwind romance began, their first daughter, Neriah, was born in 2000, followed two years later by a second daughter, Sierra Sky. The couple tied the knot that same year. The “wife/mother” stigma could sometimes dull a sex symbol’s sheen, but it did nothing but enhance Burke’s. For those who assumed she was nothing but eye-candy, she proved the naysayers wrong by making the smartest business decision a pin-up can: making Brooke Burke a brand attractive to both sexes.

There were years of best-selling swimsuit calendars and countless covers and layouts in such men's mags as FHM, Stuff, Maxim and two top-selling stints baring it all for Playboy. For the ladies, a workout video “Core Secrets” (2004) and her own swimwear line, “Barely Brooke,” which appeared in the 2003 swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and also in Victoria’s Secret catalogues. After three years of such adventures as fighting off crocodiles in Jamaica and walking on skyscraper ledges in New Zealand, Burke stepped down as host of “Wild On” in the fall of 2002. She remained at E! until Aug. 2003, hosting the pop culture countdown series, “Rank” (2001-03) and working the red carpet for E! Entertainment, Live Events.

SuperTruck Launches For 'Road To Cabo' Events Announced From Los Cabos Mexico!

"The Ram Trucks SRT/TRX is once again the mightiest half-ton pickup truck on the planet, with the reborn version packing a 777-hp supercharged V-8. Along with an interior that rivals some luxury vehicles, Ram's widebody SuperTruck still rolls on 35-inch off-road tires buoyed by a long-travel suspension.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will go on sale in the second half of 2026, and it will start at $102,590. When Ram discontinued the TRX after the 2024 model year, not only did the world lose one of the most badass off-road trucks to ever come with a factory warranty, but the brand also let its biggest rival go unchallenged. Well, the 720-hp Ford F-150 Raptor R will soon surrender its title as the most powerful half-ton pickup on the planet, because later this year the Ram TRX will rise from the ashes, this time packing a seismic 777 horsepower.

While the reborn TRX looks virtually the same as before it went into hibernation for two years, there are some updates, including those recently applied to the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup. Meanwhile, the dino-themed truck debuts the Bloodshot Night Edition pictured here, which introduces a two-tone color scheme with a hand-painted black upper half and a Flame Red hood stripe. All TRX models also adopt a RAM grille logo outlined in red, and the TRX badge on the tailgate now includes a Tyrannosaurus Rex head.

The return of Ram's SuperTruck also marks the relaunch of the Street and Racing Technology performance division, which was unofficially disbanded years ago, though SRT badges stuck around on various Dodge products, including the current Hellcat-powered Durango. Still, a truck hasn't worn the branding since the Ram SRT-10. That all changes with the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX. Cumbersome name aside, it fulfills the prophecy of being a lot more powerful than its predecessor.

A More Hellacious V-8 Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis says the truck's Hemi V-8 isn't just a retuned version of the previous 6.2-liter. Instead, it's a new variant with revised engine management and hardware from the company's orange and red engine blocks as well as Direct Connection, the source of factory-backed performance parts from Mopar. With help from a 2.4-liter supercharger, the new TRX gains 75 ponies and 30 pound-feet of torque for totals of 777 and 680, respectively.

That power is fed to all four wheels through an upgraded eight-speed automatic transmission. Ram claims the SRT-badged TRX will accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, a full second quicker than the outgoing truck's estimate. When we tested a 2021 TRX, the 702-hp version hit the mile-per-minute mark in 3.7 seconds, so its successor should be even quicker. Its top speed remains 118 mph.

The Ram Trucks SRT/TRX once again features 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires and a fortified chassis. Its long-travel suspension incorporates the latest version of Ram's adaptive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 dampers, and a five-link coil-spring setup controls the solid rear axle. Like before, the truck's off-road tires can be secured with 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels. Ground clearance once again measures 11.8 inches, and the truck's approach, breakover, and departure angles are all slightly better than before.

The new TRX's cabin is even more luxurious, now featuring a leather-wrapped steering wheel cap and a full microsuede headliner. The dash and other surfaces are covered in leather, and the carbon fiber you see is real. Along with a head-up display, the driver now faces a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The new 14.5-inch touchscreen runs Uconnect 5 software, and it controls the standard 19-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. For the first time, the TRX has a hands-free drive mode that works on compatible highways.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is slated to reach dealerships sometime in the second half of this year. With a starting price of $102,590, it will likely cost about $10,000 less than the Ford F-150 Raptor R, which currently starts at $113,525. However, Ram hasn't yet released pricing for the TRX Bloodshot Night Edition that will close the gap with the R-rated Raptor."

""NASCAR will hold a street race on Naval Base Coronado in Southern California in June as a replacement for its downtown Chicago event that ran the past three years.

The shift next year will allow NASCAR to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy by hosting all three of its national series over a three-day weekend from June 19 to June 21.

"NASCAR San Diego Weekend will honor the Navy's history and the men and women who serve as we take the best motorsports in the world to the streets of Naval Base Coronado."

The move to the San Diego area does not eliminate a return to Chicago, where NASCAR will still maintain an office and attempt an eventual return, perhaps as early as 2027.

NASCAR has seen Auto Club Speedway close after the 2023 race. It built a temporary short track inside Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum from 2022 through 2024 but moved that event to North Carolina.

The city of Coronado will soon enjoy a new attraction as NASCAR is confirmed moving to the West Coast.

A recent development indicates that the city of Coronado will soon host a NASCAR race. There are multiple reports, with the official announcement due any-minute.

The official announcement was made Wednesday, July 23.

Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado appears to be the venue, as the event is scheduled to take place next June. Celebrating the Fourth of July.

It will be a road course containing several twists and turns. Being that it is on the Naval Base, there is plenty of open space to customize the track as needed.

The North Island base has a long history of motorsport.

With views of San Diego Bay, Point Loma, the Coronado Bay Bridge, and the downtown San Diego skyline, this may be one of the best venues for a NASCAR race in the sport’s history.

Like most of southern California, it is now a strip mall and a housing complex. From 1997 to 2023, the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, hosted NASCAR races.

NASCAR has closed a major deal to move a new event from Mexico City to San Diego in 2026.

The 'new' street race in San Diego comes after Shane van Gisbergen secured his Cup Series playoff spot with a win on the streets of the heart of the Aztec Empire, Mexico City.

The news comes after NASCAR legend and joint-record title holder Richard Petty told chiefs that road and street courses don't belong in the stock car racing series.

NASCAR revealed plans last year to bring both the Xfinity and Cup Series to the road course at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in 2025.
