Wedding Cake Trends for 2012

Another year has quickly passed & time to report on the trends for 2012…looks like the letter “M” is taking this year by storm.

Mini Cakes; mini’s are pushing their way to the top of the trend & might possibly push cupcakes out of the spotlight this year.

Multiple Cakes; cakes of different designs but same colour are also in style for the 2012 season. We’re seeing anywhere from three to as many as ten different styled cakes on display for a single Wedding.

Minimalist Cakes; while many traditional cakes can be beautifully done with elaborate designs, brides might be opting for a “less is more” attitude toward their cakes this year. A simple, clean design with a single bold flower, ribbon or broach can have just as much of an impact as a heavily decorated cake.

These are ONLY trends & not rules you need to follow as it is still your big day! Your cake is a huge focal point for your special day so be sure you base your design on what you LOVE & not just want the trends are.
