I Nyoman Gunarsa, born in 1944 on Bali, is a world recognized identity in Indonesian Art and one of Bali’s most renowned resident artists.

Here on Bali you can find some of his paintings at Museum Rudana in Peliatan, Neka Art Museum in Ubud, and Museum Seni Lukis Klasik Bali in Klungkung.

During the Hindu Day of Silence (Nyepi, this year from 07 March sunrise to 08 March sunrise) Hindus are not allowed to turn on lights or light fires, may not do physical activities and cannot travel or take part in entertainment.

Even the International airport will be closed, but airplanes will be able to transit for technical landings and for fuel refilling.

Travelers are not allowed to leave the hotel, they have to stay within the hotel’s premises.

Be aware when going out on 06 March, taxis will stop their service in the early evening, shops and restaurants close at 10pm or earlier. All staff will head home to their villages, but your hotel's staff will stay with you for 24 hours.

Check it out, in Tabanan, on the way to Bedugul, in the area of Baturiti you will find a few vendors at roadside stalls selling durian for IDR 20.000-100.000/piece. Price depends on quality and size.
If you you prefer the more convenient way, just pick them up in the supermarket, but don't expect best quality and price...

For the brave amongst you: make some durian juice, rare and delicious!

Bali Airport Tax IDR 150.000

Starting on 01 November 2007, airport tax at Denpasar's International airport Ngurah Rai is IDR 150.000, this is a 50% increase. All travelers heading to a destination outside Indonesia have to pay this tax after check-in.

But you are lucky, Indonesian citizens pay an additional IDR 1.000.000 fiscal when leaving Indonesia.
