Like Miami Heat, Dolphins are fired up and down to squabble

2012-06-20T18:57:00.002-07:00

____________________________________

While [the] Miami Heat are poised to burn out OKC's thunder, it seems Miami might just be too-hot-too-handle, at least for the Dolphins.

According to South Florida Sun-Sentinel blogger - Omar Kelly, things got a little testy during mini camp practice this afternoon; a squabble broke out among the Big Fish!

Left tackle - Jake Long took on defensive lineman - Olivier Vernon, while defensive lineman - Ryan Baker locked fins with guard - Richie Incognito.

When it comes to sports, especially football, practices usually get and keep players on edge. But considering today's practice was no-contact, some believe the NFL may investigate today's incident, and 'put-the-smack-down' on the four linemen, who could easily blame their heightened passion(s) on the Miami Heat's explosive performance during the 2K12 NBA finals...or not.

But league involvement, and possible disciplinary action(s), isn't head coach - Joe Philbin's primary concern; he dislikes what this all means for players' who are unable to control their emotions, not only in practice, but moreover during [actual] game situations.

"You have to be able to keep your poise and play. It’s great to be tough, it’s great to be physical. . . . It’s 15 yards, loss of down, clock, all those things. So yeah, there was good competitiveness, but you’ve got to be smart." -Coach Philbin

For those who've played the gridiron game, a lil' extra pushin'-n-shovin' is a harmless and inevitable occurrence.

The NFL and Coach Philbin make an excellent point, however. Poor practice habits ultimately makes for bad business on the field. Maybe the Dolphins are just getting caught-up with all the hype in Miami, and their new celebrity -- Hard Knocks -- status on HBO. Hit em up!

Tupac Shakur: The Life of a Born Rap Soldier

2012-06-16T16:12:00.000-07:00

It's Saturday, the sun's rays of heat makes it another golden, California day...and June 16, 1971 is the day one of hip hop's greatest emcee's in the rap game - Tupac Shakur [aka: 2Pac, Makaveli] - was born.

Anyone with half a brain and exposure to mass media pretty much knows, or will eventually hear about, the celebrated life and legendary lyrical 'spit-flow' of a born rap soldier:

Tupac Amaru Shakur

While most rappers do just that - rap, Pac was, and obviously still is (2K12 hologram at Coachella), much more than an MC, or a thug for that matter.

A spiritual-soldier of great intellectual fortune, Makaveli was blessed with unprecedented and unmatched skills (writer, actor, MC, activist, producer, poet, revolutionary, screenwriter, humanitarian) and a voice that penetrated the heart & soul of massive audiences the world over - one love!

And even though murder was the case they gave him, executed in Las Vegas - 1996, Pac gave us all 100% real, raw, rough, and romantic insight into the mind of [a] prophetic genius who became a threat to many forces...and some might argue, even to himself.

Regardless of how his spirit transcended our sense of dimension, time and space -- the life and 1-LOVE-THUG-PASSION of Tupac Shakur, no-doubt, lives on...and rocks beyond the break of dawn. Happy 'born-day', Pac. Hit em up!

Heat vs Thunder - 2012 NBA Finals: A 'Ballers' Battle

2012-06-11T18:25:00.004-07:00

Who's Down to Ball?

This year's NBA 'b-ball' finals, between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder, is all ball-n-swagg, baby! Finally the game 'b-ball' fans have been longing to see, a battle of young NBA greats and future champions will feature, arguably, the game's best two talents:

Lebron James and Kevin Durant!

While some odds and prediction makers seem eager to give Miami the nod in a seven game series, it might be a mistake to count OKC, the underdogs, out so soon and so easily.

The Big3 in Miami -- King James, D. Wade and Bosh
-- may be too hot to handle for the Boston Celtics, but getting into the paint won't be an acceptable proposition for the lengthy-likes of Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, and a defiant Kendrick Perkins.

If OKC can keep, either, King James or D. Wade out of the box, forcing them to take perimeter shots, Oklahoma will likely earn their first NBA title.

Considering Chris Bosh is just getting back to business, helping Miami advance to the finals with a solid performance against Boston in game seven, it's too soon to expect CB to remain healthy, as the series against the Thunder becomes more turbulent and physically challenging.

The Thunder are a tight crew of young, hungry, athletic, fast, and way-too-talented bunch to be intimidated by Miami's brand of heat-game. No doubt, Batman and Robin (James and Wade) and the rest of the Heat can put-it-down with great athleticism and skill, too, but the bulk of Miami's "heat" is generated by these two heroic stars.

If just one of them, Bosh, James or Wade, isn't on-point throughout a series of fast-breaks served-up by OKC's thunder & lightening speed, the Heat's dynamic duo, along with their starting center, may just have to settle for champions of NBA-swagg-fashion.

And the 'X' factor no one seems to notice, except Oklahoma's coaching staff; the veteran leadership, experience, game I.Q., and poise of 5-Time NBA champ, Derek Fisher (aka: D-Fish), who is just as
determined to help his team earn [the] bling...and sport another NBA Championship ring on his 6th finger.

Blame it on Kupchak, Kobe!

Had it not been for Fisher's, "as usual", clutch play and court leadership, during an entire 4th quarter of game seven against the Spurs, the inexperienced Thunder were looking to self-destruct and possibly see another opportunity to be known as Kings of The Court, slip through their fingers.

Against a Miami offense fully heated and healthy, mental toughness and focus, fueled by a will-to-win and 'gotta-get-mine' attitude, must be OKC's most potent invisible weapon against the 'zone' factor, or rhythm & flow of [the] D. Wade-King James connection.

Perhaps their "connection" will be disco'd by OKC's "quiet storm", represented by two young bolts of lightening:

Russell Westbrook and James Harden

Hands down, Miami gets Ballerswagg's nod for Team with Most Swagg, but OKC...them boys look like they want it more, and could care less about swagg; they want that title. But to get it, they will have to take it from King James and Prince Wade -- who probably assume they deserve it more. Square Biz, Ballerswagg will be in the buildin'!

Brian Banks Finally Free to Pursue Dream of Playing Pro Football, After Unfair Justice - Rape Charge

2012-05-30T19:45:00.001-07:00

If any man deserves an opportunity to fulfill [his] dream of playing professional football in the NFL, Brian Banks most certainly does. After serving five years and two months in prison for the false charge of rape, Banks was finally set free after his accuser, 'hood rat' - Wanetta Gibson, admitted she was not raped by the former Long Beach Polytechnic High School football star, who was set to ball with the University of Southern California [USC] - Trojans, back in 2002-03.

Unfortunately, due to a flawed and racially biased justice system, and immoral "legal representation" by [his] public defender - who advised Banks to plead "no contest" because he was a "big black teenager" - Banks was unable to play his senior year as Poly's star linebacker, and later join the Trojans on a full scholarship.

At the time of his arrest at age 17, according to Banks,
he was not allowed to give his side of the story, or speak with his mother to ask if he should plead "no contest" or fight the case before a jury.

His public defender straight-up denied, a minor at the time, an opportunity to consult with his moms. His attorney told Banks he had to make the decision on his own, at that moment, without speaking to anyone.

Obviously scared of facing up to 41 years in prison, by risking a trial by jury, the young athlete took the "advice" of his public defender (who, obviously, also didn't believe he was innocent of rape charges). No doubt, Brian Banks was also stripped of his scholarship from USC.

Finally exonerated of [the] rape charges, Banks shed bitter-sweet tears in the courtroom as he listened to the words that set him free once and for all. You would think a man treated so horribly by a system that readies itself to convict, particularly, young black males, would be justifiably hateful towards the criminal justice system, as well as the 'hood rat' who lied on him, and got paid 1.5 million in a settlement filed against the school district. But Banks, in spite of it all, looks forward to a hopeful career playing professional football for the NFL.

On June 7, Banks is scheduled to work out for the Seattle Seahawks, coached by former USC coach - Pete Carroll, who recruited the star linebacker years before this horrible miscarriage of justice.

Although Banks is eligible to file a claim and receive $100 for each day he was denied freedom by the State of California, according to State Penal Code 4900, there is a larger issue that must be addressed; It can no longer be acceptable that young black males, especially, are considered public enemy number one, and not given fair and equal treatment in a country that largely relies on young black males to fight its foreign wars.

With regard to this case, Banks was just another number...another notch on the belt of injustice. The question must be asked, how can someone make a false accusation, of this magnitude, about another individual, without the support of independent witness(es) or physical evidence, and there being an immediate investigation to establish legitimacy?

Well it's possible when it comes to stereotyping young black males.

Had Banks been a young white male falsely accused of raping a young white female, virtually every young black male living in America knows that his racial counterpart would likely have been treated fairly, without [the] racial bias demonstrated by arresting officers and the State's public defender.

Cases like these, including that of Trayvon Martin, are unfortunate reminders that the assault on YBM's (young black males) is business-as-usual in the United States of America.

Hopefully, USC will reinstate Banks' scholarship, the State of California will award him every dime owed to him for this horrible miscarriage of justice, and the National Football League will give him a legitimate opportunity to fulfill a dream deferred by a racially biased and corrupt system of so-called "justice for all"!

And as for 'Miss Thang' (hood rat - Wanetta Gibson), although Banks is too nice and too classy of a guy to go there -- YOU STANK!

Lesson to YBMA (Young Black Male Athletes):

Focus on your sport of passion, and leave the 'hood-rats' alone! Unfortunately, too many of their mothers have taught them to prey on brothas with a baller's future. And you already know that America views you as guilty until you can prove your innocence.

The Return of Allen Iverson to 'Philly Love' at Game 6 of NBA Playoff and Wants to 'Ball' Pro Again

2012-05-25T17:43:00.001-07:00

Before game six of the 2K12 NBA playoffs, between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers, eleven-time All-Star, Allen Iverson (aka: The Answer) returned to his court of greatness, in the City of Brotherly Love, to deliver the game ball and no-doubt a splash of good luck.

And that luck was bankable as the 76ers beat Boston and now look forward to game seven, and hopefully advancing to face their next opponent in the eastern conference.

But the real story is 'The I' and his possible return to the NBA. Say what? Yes sir! According to reports, during an interview with Iverson, he said the following:

“I’m not using that word (retirement)…” he said. “The way it is right now, I’ve accepted the fact that (returning to play in the NBA) might not happen. But I still want to play basketball. If I can get an opportunity to where it’s going to make me happy at the end of my career, I’ll take that opportunity. But I just love to play and I want to have another opportunity to play on the professional level.”

Although returning to the pro ranks of the NBA might not happen like 'The Answer' wants it to, as far as fans and ballers are concerned...

"'The I' gets much love in Philly!"

Beastie Boys Rap Pioneer, Adam Yauch - 'MCA' dies at age 47

2012-05-04T18:03:00.001-07:00

________________________________________

The hip hop community and fans worldwide are shocked and saddened; a rap pioneer - Adam Yauch

(better known as MCA of the legendary group -- Beastie Boys), has died at age 47. But although MCA's 'physical' is no longer perceivable, hip hop celebrates the spirit of those, like Adam, who've helped blaze its revolutionary trail through popular culture.

As [a] founding member of the Beastie Boys rap group, MCA rocked the mic with fellow group MC's - Mike D and Ad-Rock, and Mix Master Mike spinning the tables to their funky, funky hits.

Before the group decided to express their combined art through rap music, they first chose hardcore punk as the genre of choice. In 1983, the 'B-Boys' started flirting with hip hop and expressed their new-found love like most MC's do...they released a 12 inch single: 'Cooky Puss'.

A year later, in 1984, the Beastie Boys and hip hop were married to the rap game, and their first offspring [album] was Licensed to Ill, released in 1986.

"It was the first hip hop LP to top the Billboard 200 chart. It was also Columbia Records' fastest-selling debut record to date and sold over 9 million copies." And judging from the group's worldwide impact and fanbase following, being married to hip hop has been mighty good for one of hip hop's illest group of MC's.

They were pioneers, no doubt!

"They are one of the longest lived hip hop acts worldwide and continue to enjoy commercial and critical success in 2011, more than 25 years after the release of their debut album. The group has been selected as part of the 2012 induction class into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, after being eligible since 2007." [Source: Wikipedia]

Adam Yauch was a true representation of what

hip hop culture was, is, and should [forever] be -- a unifying force of loyal expression of self, for the benefit of humanity.

In spite of his battle with a cancerous parotid salivary gland, which is the likely cause of [his] death, in his personal life, Yauch practiced and became a voice for Buddhism, and the struggle for independence of the Tibetan people, specifically.

He was so devoted to his spiritual practice and beliefs that, in the spirit of hip hop, he put his money, and his heart, where his mouth was. "He created the Milarepa Fund, a non-profit organization devoted to Tibetan independence, and organized several benefit concerts to support the cause."

Andrew Bynum ties NBA record for most Blocks in playoff game!

2012-04-29T23:57:00.000-07:00

'Big Smack' was turnt-up against Nuggets in game 1 of NBA playoffs!

In the Laker's first game of the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Denver Nuggets, Lisa Leslie said of L.A. Laker's center: "Andrew was 'Bynumite'!" Leslie also said she "had to give 'props' to my twitter followers for that one", referring to Bynum's explosive play during the Laker's 103 - 88 victory over Denver.

[Stat: winner of game 1 wins series 78% of time]

And even though [the] 'Black Mamba' did his usual thang ('sho-nuff' cold as ice until the second half, scoring a total of 31pts), it was BIG Andrew Bynum who dominated and flossed hard in the paint, earning a triple-double, a first since Laker legend - Magic Johnson did it in the '91 NBA finals, with 10 big blocked shots, 10 points and 13 rebounds in game one against Denver!

With 30 points scored against the Nuggets on 4.13.2K12, in spite of his 10 buckets today, "his timing was impeccable", said Kobe about 'Big-Bang's' blocking and rebounding ability in today's game. According to Laker head coach - Mike Brown, "The difference in the game was Adrew Bynum."

"He was an absolute BEAST down there!" -Coach Mike Brown, L.A. Lakers

Talk about doggin'-um, number 17 caused Nuggets to crumble with just 16 of 44 shots scored in the paint; he was blocking, dunking and rebounding with high energy. Laker legend - Michael Cooper said, "his play was stellar"!

The other 7 footer - Pau Gasol also put-in-work on 'D', as he almost triple doubled, too, but laced-up a nice set of digits to help his team secure the 'dub':

13 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks

__________________________________

Once upon a time [young] Andrew Bynum

was harshly and just about routinely criticized for his perceived lack of will, strength and endurance. Many fans, critics and analysts forgot that although he joined the NBA in a mans frame, he was still a developing 'youngsta' trying to figure out how to run with the big doggs.

With tutelage from The Cap (Kareem Abdul Jabbar), experience, growth, dedication to his craft, and maintaining good health (*this year only one game missed due to injury) - he'll likely continue to reek havoc on the opposition!

And as Bynum becomes more confident and settled in his physicality (coordination, reflexes, etc.), the evolution of his 'b-ball' I.Q. will allow him to continue to dominate the middle for seasons to come.

Think about it: Andrew Bynum has been playing pro ball for six years, most of which has been spent healing battle wounds his developing frame wasn't used to absorbing from more powerful and physically seasoned NBA centers. But at 25 years old, 'Big Drew' is poised to become one of the NBA's next [most] dominating 'Big Men' to play the game - go hard, 'Big Bang'!

Extra, Extra: Nas' new single - "The Don" bangs hard from NYC!

2012-04-28T16:36:00.000-07:00

After 20 years in the game, Nas - "The Don" still bangs 'flowetically' hard, from NYC!

It should come as no surprise that Nas' new joint, "The Don" symbolizes what's likely to be another sizzling success from the rappers upcoming album - Life is Good, scheduled for release this summer (07.17.2K12).

As he bangs loose on New Yorker's and MC's worldwide, Nasty Nas gets active [in] good life, swagg fashion. "The Don",

rather harsh and matter-of-factly, reminds MC's and rap fans what two decades in the rap game can produce -- legendary, intelligent, poetic, and gritty flawless flow!

Metta World Peace gets 7 game suspension for violent 'bow' to 'dome' of James Harden

2012-04-24T20:39:00.001-07:00

'Deez-am', Ron! Just when we all thought Metta World Peace was finally on the road to non-violent court conduct, L.A. Lakers forward - [Ron Artest] showed up in the second quarter of a double over time defeat of the Oklahoma City Thunder. After completing a critical [dunk] play, Artest 'gives-it' to Thunder's shooting guard - James Harden, causing Harden to suffer a concussion -- boo!

As a result of Ron's (no dis', Metta, but we gotta call you Ron Artest when it's like that) shockingly violent flagrant foul, intentional or not, apology or not, and violation of league conduct rules -- he has earned a seven game suspension.

NBA Commissioner - David Stern said regarding the unfortunate incident, "The concussion suffered by James Harden demonstrates the danger posed by violent acts of this kind, particularly when they are directed at the head area." He also stated, "We remain committed to taking necessary measures to protect the safety of NBA players, including the imposition of appropriate penalties for players with a history of on-court altercations."

Unfortunately for Artest and the Lakers, missing seven games of hustle, muscle rebounding, and dunking and stealing balls will be hard to replace, but the Lakers have shown a knack for adjusting to difficult situations. This is one tight jam, though, that is no doubt a concern for Laker management.

"Metta has for the most part been a model citizen both on and off the court since joining the Lakers. Still, his most recent lapse in judgment is not to be condoned or accepted. His actions could have seriously injured another player, and his absence during this suspension will hurt our team, as well. While we accept the league's decision, we will be supportive of Metta and try to help him be more professional on the court." -Mitch Kupchak

While fans appreciate Metta's passionate style of 'b-ball' swagg, they don't want to see cats take shots, especially to the 'dome', that could seriously hurt or fatally wound players. Considering Metta's apology to his teammates, the league, fans and Harden, no doubt, if he could do it all over again, just after dunkin' over Kevin Durant , 'MWP' would have pounded his chest (all good), then headed down court to 'D-Up' without incident.

DMX shows heart and soul for moms on 'Couples Therapy'

2012-04-21T15:24:00.001-07:00

"Never once did she say she loved me"

It takes a real man to admit when he's been emotionally scarred, and it takes great courage to share his pain with the world. Rap star - DMX did just that recently on VH1's reality show - 'Couples Therapy'.

Known for his hard 'thuggish-ruggish', bad to the bone [rap] flow and iconic 'dogg' style, when talking about his mother, DMX keeps it passionately "real".

"I used to always turn to drugs when I was feeling a certain way and now that I’m not doing that, sometimes the pressure builds up, I’ll call [someone] and say, I just wanted to say ‘Mommy.’ I wanted to say that word. Mommy. Not ‘My mother,’ you know, I wanted to say mommy. I just wanted to talk to her. I haven’t talked to her in years and I just wanted to be able to say ‘Hi, mommy. I love you.’ Never once did she [say she loved me.] …. [crying] …. You know what, I think people lose sight of the fact that no matter how strong you are, as a man, no matter how tough you are, we all need to be somebody’s baby." --DMX

Way to 'man-up', X! And don't even trip on loved-1 for showin' some thug passion for his moms...who wouldn't? Even the hardest of hearts break down when it comes to something so essential to a healthy life - love from moms. And we all know dudes front like sh#t don't matter, but even the illest menace to society

has a bleeding heart for the woman who gave him life.

Many young fans, especially those who find themselves living in foster homes or childcare facilities, for instance, will be blessed by DMX's example. Too many of these youngsters sincerely believe that no one wants them, especially their mothers'. Confronting and sharing childhood trauma will no doubt help those who also feel the pain of love's absence.

And above all, in spite of his ups-n-downs with the "industry", his career is [still] all-good, but never more important than confronting the source of his suffering.

"And judging from the show, DMX has rightfully acknowledged [the] turmoil and is clearing the way for better days and better ways. That's what's up." -T.F. Hodge

One love and keep shining, dogg!

"I gotta make it out, or move quickly. Can't allow the past to restrict me, bet this time around they won't skip me. I am the last hope." --DMX

Is Kim Kardashian's wish to be Mayor of Glendale, CA a front or reality?

2012-04-20T01:10:00.001-07:00

Ever since Kim Kardashian mentioned becoming
Glendale, California's next mayor to her sister - Khloe, on the reality TV show - 'Keeping up with the Kardashian's', the responses have been mostly laughable, to keep it "real". In other words, most people think it's just a publicity stunt. Local Glendale politicians don't believe that Kim could actually "lead", citing her lack of experience in public service as evidence. And although other celebrities (like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan) have played roles as politicians, it doesn't mean that Kim would enjoy the same success, they add.

But what if... Kim is serious?

Judging from her ability to get what she wants, coupled with the main ingredient required in politics - 'skrilla', she couldn't be a worse leader than former California governor, Schwarzenegger.

She may want to brush-up on her demographics and a few other essentials before she officially takes the plunge, though; she thinks Armenian's make up the greatest number of residents. In reality, only 25% of the population are Armenian.

Miss Kardashian would also face two mandatory challenges:

1. first get elected to city council

2. receive vote(s) of confidence from city council members, who select the mayor.

We know you've got a hot-ass frame, but do you have a political brain and a heart to serve others, Miss Kardashian? Or, is this, in "reality", just you[r] making a political play after taking a page out of Sarah Palin's book of 'hustle & flow'?

Monday's Top 10 NBA Plays

2012-04-17T11:16:00.000-07:00

Monday night 'b-ball' was hot around NBA!

First up is your boy, 'King James' with a mean lean-in dunk.

Next, Andre Iguodala, "holla", drives down the middle for an easy put-down.

At number eight, and maybe this play should have been numero-uno, at number 10, cause 'VC' -Vince Carter looked like Barry Sanders shaking and faking through defenders, then finishes with a nasty rim blaster - aaahhh!

A power play by Joakim Noah nets him the number seven position.

The clean-up man, George Hill was feelin' it after a nice two-hand put-back slam, which placed him in seat 6.

Smack dab in the middle, at position five, and worth every bit of fans' expectations -- 'Big Red', 'BG' - Black Griffin hits an acrobatic spin, off-the-glass, and-1, ringer; yeah dat!

Derrick Williams occupies pn4 with a 'for-realla' right hand power jam.

But quite nicer than he was a so-sick-wit-it facial slam by 'Double-J' - James Johnson.

At number 2, Randy Foye showed major heart, rhythm and soul when he straight took it to the rack with super 'funk'.

RF was in the building, playa! And finally, Paul Millsap takes baseline and makes crucial two-hand put-down to send game into O.T.

Phoenix Suns Point Guard - Steve Nash "Can Do" Miami Heat

2012-03-29T21:43:00.000-07:00

Who could argue that two time NBA MVP and eight time All-Star -- Steve Nash lacks dedication and loyalty as starting point guard for the Phoenix Suns?

After rejoining with the Suns since the 2004-05 season, Nash has given more than 100% effort in hopes of achieving his ultimate goal...of being crowned an NBA champion; so far and so long in waiting for [his] taste of champagne bubbly.

Like many great players before and no doubt after him, Nash does not want to go out like the great Charles Barkley - not a champion. And with 15 years in the game, Steve Nash seems to be getting tired of waiting for his time to shine [in] the sun, and with the Suns. A 38 year old free agent this summer, Nash indicated that unless the Suns make some positive improvements, he'd give Lebron James a listen regarding ballin' with the Miami Heat!

"I would listen," he said. "(James) is phenomenal. I love what they're doing there. A lot of people don't like them because they put all that talent there. But they're professional, they play hard, they play together. Their coaching staff has done a great job, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for them." ~Steve Nash

If Nash does end up runnin' with the Heat, it won't be for the 'dough'; the Heat just can't afford it. But considering what we know about the heart, passion and relentless 'b-ball style' of Nash, he'd likely give up a few dead presidents' for the chance to be considered, not only one of the greatest, but finally, a great NBA champion (assuming that could happen with Miami).

Steve Nash - 15 year NBA Pro 'Baller'

"People have always doubted whether I was good enough to play this game at this level. I thought I was, and I thought I could be. What other people thought was really always irrelevant to me."

Rockin' My Hoodie for Trayvon Martin!

2012-03-23T13:24:00.001-07:00

Young student-athlete, 'baller' - Trayvon Martin saved his father's life when he was nine years old. His school teacher said he chalked-up A's and B's with ease. Trayvon's mother and father said he dreamed of working in aviation - either flying or fixing airplanes. He wanted to attend college and 'ball-up' with one of Florida's green and orange powerhouse squads.

Dude had swagg, smarts, common sense, respect for the law -- a tight and promising package. And more than anything, he wanted to live!

Trayvon Martin's family, unfortunately, won't be able to see their son fulfill his "American" dream(s). Instead, his mother and father, family, friends, classmates, community, the United States and the world will have to wait for justice for the murder of this innocent kid full of promise. Yep, that's right. In the United States of America, a country which polices the world and claims to be fair and just, the most powerful nation on earth which asks it's young people to fight foreign wars, where republicans fight for 'right to life' -- actually has laws which allow [race] haters to hunt down and kill someone; this is what happened on February 26, 2012.

The hater, George Zimmerman, as of this date, is still alive, at large somewhere on the planet and protected. Politicians and authorities in Florida are more concerned with "policies" and "procedures" (covering up and saving face) than they are with detaining or arresting Martin's killer and holding local officers accountable.

Living in the so-called greatest nation on earth may be great for some, but for most, if not all young black males, growing up in America is a risky business.

For parents of young black males on the road to success, living "stereotyped" in the United States, the fear of a son or nephew being killed by a police officer, a total stranger, or a neighborhood hater is unending. And not surprisingly, for most young black males, their perception of America is that she does not care about "us", but only to exploit us for our gifts and talents (scoring points and spittin' rhymes).

In the eyes of most young black males, "justice is

swift for some but not for us." It's no wonder so many young black males have an adverse view of America, rather than the positive one that vibes with her claims of freedom, fairness and justice for all. The American history of killings of black males seems to be more than just historical -- it is also contemporary.

In a nation of so many religious followers, namely Christians who profess belief in God, it seems odd that laws exist which protect armed hateful criminals and those in authority. What or which [type of] god(s) does America really serve and trust in? And for the sake of his mother and father, who instead of grieving for their son, must first fight for justice in his name. Shame on you Florida!

The one in uniform failed his duties to perform and temporarily resigned during an investigation by federal authorities -- wow! But even worse, the 'uncle tom' standing behind him with the suit on, who has the sole power to fire the idiot in uniform right now, would rather wait until he "receives all the facts" before he'll do the right thing...or not[?]

Love, respect and peace to the family of Trayon Martin and may God deliver swift justice to those who hate, envy and seek to destroy his children.

R.I.P. - Trayvon Martin

Angelino's and Lakers say sad "so long" to Derek Fisher

2012-03-15T18:10:00.000-07:00

5 Time NBA Champion, point guard - Derek Fisher [aka: 'D-Fish']

It came as somewhat of a surprise to Laker fans when Los Angeles Laker point guard - Derek Fisher signed with the Golden State Warriors, after a long run and 'three-peat' championships with the Lakers.

When he was traded to the Utah Jazz he helped lead them to the NBA - Western Conference Finals. L.A. fans were, no doubt, surprised and more than happy when 'D-Fish' returned home, in 2007, to help his beloved Lakers conquer the NBA crown, once again in 2010, for his fifth championship.

Until today, most Laker fans assumed or anticipated that Pau Gasol would get traded, not 'D-Fish'!

No disrespect to Luke Walton, but hardly any fans were surprised to learn he got traded; many believe trading Luke was long overdue, and perhaps Shannon Brown should have stayed and played in the land of "G's", instead of Walton.

But the news of Derek Fisher getting traded to the Houston Rockets for forward - Jordan Hill, hit L.A. like a ton of bricks!

No he's not the best PG in the league. No he's not the biggest baller, physically. No he's not the fastest or the best defensive player. What Fisher may have lacked, he more than made up for with smart play, hustle, emotion, heart, leadership and 'right-on-time' offensive juice.

NBA 'Ballers' Rep - Derek Fisher:

L.A. fans [do] realize and respect the business aspect of sports, but when Laker vets like Derek Fisher get

the hook, it is a bitter pill to swallow -- 'fuh sho'. "But no matter where he is, and who he balls with, Derek Fisher will always be a Los Angeles Laker...heart and soul". Big love to you and your fam, 'D-Fish'. "It was a stone cold groove, my man"!

Jackson secure, Gasol not sure about team destinies

2012-03-14T15:19:00.003-07:00

Today one athlete, wide receiver - DeSean Jackson,

has secured his future by signing a five year, 51 million dollar contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. But another professional athlete, Pau Gasol, is still not sure about his fate as a starting forward-center for
the Los Angeles Lakers.

No doubt, Mr. Jackson is feelin' pretty good about things, with regard to his continued cash flow from the same provider. PG (Pau Gasol), on the other hand, appears to be handling the anxiety of not knowing if he'll continue to play ball with the Lakers or not, "with grace". In other words, he's keeping his true emotions in check. But at the house, you can bet Pau is like "What the deal, Buss?"

No worries, PG! As you already know, when it comes to the NBA; it's strictly business. Plus, the Lakers probably needed to see you 'up' your productivity this season to see where your head and heart is. It could also be a simple matter of philosophical approach considering there's a new coach in town -- Mike Brown. Whatever the case, with the Lakers or not, PG is a champion big man with big skills, and it is understandable why he'd want to remain in Los Angeles. Who wouldn't?

Lesson to all pro athletes:

You're only as good as your most recent performance. Get lazy with your smash-game and you'll be the topic of "trades" conversation(s) for the shot callers. In business, productivity always trumps history. Right DJ?

Ice Cube - 'The Don Mega' talks '21 Jump Street' and other movie biz projects

2012-03-13T17:04:00.001-07:00

______________________________________________________________

Hip Hop MC, Rapper, Gangsta, Mack, Hustler, Baller, Street Scholar, Writer, Producer, Director, Actor, Dad...um, what else? To some he's O'Shea Jackson, and to others he's Ice Cube (or Cube); he's so large he is 'The West Coast Warlord -- The Don Mega'!

______________________________________________________________

Lately, the homie - Ice Cube has been busy 'handlin biz' and talking about his new [movie] production projects: '21 Jump Street', 'N.W.A.' and 'Last Friday'.

Putting rumors to rest, Cube keeps it real during an interview on BlackTree.TV about directors, cast of characters, and playing a cop. "I'll play one if they give me millions of dollars. Who wouldn't?", said Cube during the interview.

For all those "true hip hop heads" who love to dis rappers for 'crossing over' and stepping into the pop-culture limelight..."don't hate the playa, hate the game!"

If you were offered millions of dollars to play an imaginary role, one that would provide financial security for you and your family or loved ones, your hip-hop-head-ass would be with the business like 100! Like any other 'real' dude in the game, Cube continues to put it down with major swagg sauce.

Besides '21 Jump Street', Cube speaks on N.W.A.:

"I'm trying to get the N.W.A movie made. I want to get a good script together and find a director. The movie is gonna cover how we got together, how we broke up and what happened after that", said Cube.

But the question that's on everybody's mind is; Will Chris Tucker make an appearance in 'Last Friday'?

An added bonus, no doubt, would be seeing comedic stars Mike Epps and Kat Williams get-it-in for the grand [Friday] finale. It would also be nice to see 'Deebo' get his punk-bully-ass knocked out again, too.

STAY TUNED!

It's Official: San Francisco 49ers Sign Wide Receiver - Randy Moss

2012-03-12T22:14:00.000-07:00

Guess who's back? After a rocky 2010 season with Minnesota, Tennessee and New England, the 'Moss Man', 'Mr. Showtime', 'RM' -- Randy Moss

will be back in NFL wide receiver action, catching passes for the San Francisco 49er offense,

after inking one year deal. At 35 years old, and after an impressive workout with the 9ers, Moss will definitely get opportunities to show he's still got his groove and ability to stretch the field.

No doubt he's still got swagg, but some might argue that 'swagg' means nothin' without field production. Welcome back to the gridiron, 'RM'; get loose 'on-em'!

WR - Randy Moss
