Maybe it’s the questions that go threw my head, “What should i write about?”, “Will anyone read it?”, “I hope I’m not mocked”, these and a slew of other questions run threw my head each time I write a post. Yet, in the end my feelings remain the same. It doesn’t really matter if you read it, if you mock me, or if I write about something no one seams to care about. I am who I am. I am human.

I hope this is the end of my case of the lazes but let’s be real, it’s probably not.

I can’t break free from this dream
I can see the end, it’s so close
I’m running, chasing, pursuing
I scream but nothing comes out, not even a shout
I need to wake up from this reality

It’s this selfishness that keeps us longing for more. More of what, we don’t really care as long as it’s something that makes us happy either momentarily or for a longer period of time. It’s this same selfishness that keeps us from caring about world affairs and keeps us worried about our own lives “love affairs.” I’m part of the problem I confess, but the time has come to stop living in this state of “me” and start living in the stat of “us”, the people of the world.

I’m the sarcastic cynic who comes off as evil yet inside there is always optimism. Once you get to know me you’ll see that I find that good in the situation. For this reason I call myself the pessimistic optimist. I think everyone should have a bit of optimism in them and everyone probably does they just hid it to look like “the tough guy.” I’ll let you in on a little secret, it’s not worth it. Be yourself.

I saw this comic in this Sundays paper it made me think about the blogsphere and how for many blogging becomes a major part of their lives.

It’s the shapes, sizes, and differences that make me love each and every one of them. It’s the fact that no two cookies are the same that makes me smile. How often in our lives do we try to put people into these cookie cutters try to create people who look like us, act like us, and even think like us. If we focus on the differences how things could be different. Both the small things, the cookie being larger than the one next to it, or maybe burnt around the edges, and the large, missing arms, legs and other body parts make us unique different and better. Why is it that we spend to much time focusing on how we can try to make people the same instead of looking at and understanding our differences?

Maybe I don’t fit into your cookie cutter shape, but maybe I don’t have to.

Well recently, I was in need of some tech support. I contacted Meebo’s support representative expecting a possible solution withing days, maybe weeks. This wasn’t the case, within 20 min I had an answer to my problem.

This really took me by surprise maybe because it’s something I never really thought about. Yet the more I thought about it the more it seemed to make sense. Often times I’ll hear people say things like “It’s not like I did anything to hurt the situation” or “Not like this is my fault.” In many of these instances however we have done nothing to stop it. I know I’m guilty of this. Standing by and watching people get made fun of, mocked, tortured. I mean it’s not like I’m the one doing it so it doesn’t matter right.

Wrong, many would argue that this is just as bad as doing the deed. I don’t know if I would go that far. I do know that I have decided to try to take a stand against injustice though. It’s time to stop being apathetic and start being active.

“Hello this is the real Brandon Duke you have your… my picture on your website. and uh, it says photo by Justin Dukes art network i mean artwork by Zach Mather but that’s my picture so I’m just wondering how you got it and what’s going on so give me a call back my number is… thank you. ” (listen to the message)

That message was then followed by this e-mail, which was sent to me at 5:47pm and then again at 9:22pm.

What does that even mean? Is he giving me permission to post myself online? For all those wondering the picture he’s talking about can be found on my other website brandondukes.com. I honestly have no idea how to respond to this… I actually have no plans to respond… Mr Brandon Duke, if you want me to respond then quit being a DUMB ASS.
