Turkey, Turkey, Turkey Tur-duc-en

Well,

This year we have exploded into a three turkey family( that is more turkeys then people in our house!), with a tur-duc-en for dessert. Who needs all the sides when you can eat Fried Turkeys and take naps during football....Oh, yes we are having sides too, I was so excited about the tur-duc-en until I found out they bought one with Crawfish Etouffee stuffing, now I am not so sure. Anyway, GO TURKEY. We are having the normal mix-match of people that don't have any family in the area, and the overflow of people that need to get away from their families for a beer and the Cowboys game. No set time for dinner, just come, graze, then graze, then dessert and wine, or maybe by 7pm it can be the beginning of eggnog season. We will see....The tree is up after all.

TODAY IS HAPPY 79TH BIRTHDAY TO MY GRANDMA MILDRED DAY!!!!!! :)

Well,

I just came back to my blog and thought-SURELY MY LAST UPDATE WAS NOT ON THE THIRD....Well, I guess it was. Lots has happened since then, I was going to post pictures of Tynes the kicker for the KC chiefs, because he was so close to us during the Texans preseason game last week, and he is so cute!!! :) Anyway, I am so pumped for the new football season! OUR SEASON TICKETS ROCK, THEY ARE ON THE 50 YARD LINE AND THEY ARE IN THE 3RD ROW...RIGHT BEHIND THE TEXANS BENCH...So, I am sure I will have some good shots to post soon. Being at the field and tailgating got me excited for our fantasy draft, whicj is coming up on Saturday! The only down fall is that we are drafting during the Bristol night race. OOPS! I am also playing in a salary cap league this year, it looks like fun but we will see. Besides the Texans we went and watched the Astros in the last couple of weeks, MAN ARE THEY BLOWING IT!!! ALso, in the last two weeks, I ended my reign at the paper and started at the dealership. I have been in learning overload-with the new job, the new golf swing and homework...Tonight was my night off, but my cable is out, thanks to the rain! soooo, I am catching up in the blogosphere! What is new with you?

My Blogger inspirations have been twarted this week, by slow connection times and the photo.blogger site not allowing me to post pictures, I have been trying to post pictures and comments of Tropical Storm Chris and I missed the news, because now it is weakend to 40 mph. Yesterday I was going to Blog about the frenzy that was breaking out around the building, then this morning as it downgraded I tried again, but now I am just mad that I am a blogger, because I don't like writing after the moment of inspration has passed, it is no FUN, get a bigger photo server, blogger or let people pay a monthly fee for space and faster response times!!!!!!! Like my grandma would say, "Now, I've Seen Everything!". I read a story in The Beaumont Enterprise today, about the future of Monopoly, and a the new modern version of the game in Britian. In this article I also discovered that some people have monopoly tourneyments, that attract like 50 people, I don't think I would like playing with these people. They are probably like my cousin used to be mean and always buy all the property on the expensive half of the board and build hotels on every possible spot...the one good draw of the debit card game, is that he couldn't steal all the $500 bills and hide them under the board for a buying opportunity!...Read More Here.

It is final. My last day in the Newspaper world in August 11, 2006. My new position at the Chevy Dealership begins on August 14, 2006. For the record, this was the hardest decision I have ever made, but I am very excited to move on to a new exciting world, and the paper is letting me do a Blog for the paper when I go, It is called "PrintGirl Views" I am going to be making entries on any thing i read that is printed that seems amusing, it could be a newspaper, magazine, internet, book, homework, ad, billboard, cereal box, whatever, Like yesterday in the Beaumont Enterprise I was reading about the stats that Red Baron had compiled about pizza. These were their "fun facts"

The Frozen Pizza industry is worth more than $5 Billion in America
Americans eat almost 3 billion pizzas a year
They consume 1.8 billion slices of frozen pizza annually
some 350 million tons of frozen pizza are sold every year

The thing I was wondering was- How does the pizza industry make only $5 billion on 3 billion pizzas
and who doesn't eat pizza to bring the average to 46 slices, I know people that eat that much pizza a quarter...I know my dad doesn't eat pizza, but I think he is the only person in the universe, I am thinking that Red Barron forgot to include college kids in this survey.

Anyway, you get the idea of what I will do, present the idea, and then my smart-ass opinion...does that sound like people will read it? I hope so, because I have been cartoonized for my profile and advertisements.

MUD DAYS Detroit

Ok, so I was checking the Grand Forks Herald this morning and in their weekly photo gallery they had this photo from the AP, I thought "Why haven't we went to Detroit to jump in the mud for vacation?" Then I found out why, you have to be 12 years old or younger....What a bummer, they should at least have like female mud wrestling or something at night for the adults or Spouse DEATH_MATCH in the mud...Come on Detroit you could sell tickets and beer and have live bands, kids during the day and adults at night...

COUNTY-WIDE: Annual day for kids to play in mud is Tuesday

The annual Wayne County Mud Day will kick off at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hines Park Nankin Mills Picnic Area, on Hines Drive east of Ann Arbor Trail in Westland.

Children ages 12 and younger can participate.

The county mixes more than 200 tons of topsoil and 20,000 gallons of water to ensure that the mud is just right. Youngsters will be separated into categories based on age to participate in Mud Limbo and the wheelbarrow races. Mr. and Miss Mud also will be crowned.

Well, we did the fourth right! We all had our flags out, oh, yea, they were already out. We had Hotdogs, and Hamburgers, and of course Apple Pie. The day was made happy by a drink I invented, which was named yesterday the "razillion brazutsi" It is a Raspberry-rum Lemonade. We also experimented with a little asti-spumante in the razillion and we made a "Yooster". These drinks are sure to become a staple at lush lane gatherings. The night was complete after a $320 light show, compliments of Mike...I know I am a complete firecracker wuss, but I was the biggest fan, when they were all done, and no one had been arrested, caught on fire, although Rodney came close, and no car or house burst into flames. :) I thought I would add the complete words to our national anthem here, so we can ponder the greatest of this hymn. Have a Great Day recovering from the fun. ********************************************************************

NASCAR POINTS SYSTEM

Here we go again, The AP was reporting about the new NASCAR championship points system this morning. Apparently they are going to make changes for the 2007 season. I will comment on this later, because I had tons of great ideas about how they should do this and then forgot them after the beginning of the season this year, because I figured the current way would be around for a while. What do you guys think they should do? I know they need to do something because I hate watching the middle of the season now, its like;;;;might just as well wait for the season to get down to 10...And last year those 10 didn't interest me either....

CARS-the Movie

So, we finally got to see CARS last night for the first time. I was well worth the two time admission and popcorn junk. It made me laugh and it made me cry, no really. Paul Newman did a great job! I love the tractors the best. I still am amazed at the animation abilities of the folks at Pixar, the scenery was unreal, which I guess I should say was soooo real looking, if the cars didn't smile, you might not know you were in an animated feature. We were not the only couple in the movies with out a Kid...but, almost. The only thing that was a little annoying was the previews, I love getting to the movies in time for the previews, because I don't watch TV enough to know what movies are about what, and then I try to choose a movie off of a title. Impossible. So, sorry I got off track, but, the first 5 or so previews were really good, and then the last three were movies for a Christmas (almost understandable) release, but then one for a Spring 2007 release and then the last one was for Summer 2007. Ok, So I can only figure that kid brainwashing must need a year to foster or something. It is barely summer 2006. This also annoys me about car dealerships, they have had the 2007 tahoes and suburbans in since the very beginning of 2006. Well, the only other thing that was a mystery to me was why Jr. got a cameo role, when his sponsor is Budweiser, they didn't put those stickers on the car, but still, why couldn't the M & M Car or a kid-friendly car like Jeff Gordon, or Terry Labonte and the DLP car...be in the movie...you are right it isn't about budweiser it is about Jr.----oh, and at the Texas race, DLP was pushing the technology with the use of all animated features to demonstrate the quality of the new TVs, I think that would have fit nicely....The best part of the movie was the parts that played on the closing credits. :)

NASCAR

Well, the Texas race comes and goes and then the summer comes and I get to watch an occassional night race, but wow, what a finish yesterday, TERRY LABONTE got third place and JEFF GORDON won, (first time in 20 races, seems like 60, huh, Brian) Anyway, Yippee. I felt like I would have missed out if I would have missed the whole race. Oh, and Jeff Gordon is Engaged as of Saturday and wins on Sunday, maybe his race/love funk-bad luck is Over now. And-next week-night race! GO TEAM CHEVY!

Vacation...

So, I have been bombarded with people asking me, why I haven't been posting. I kept saying that I was on vacation...And the bad part is that I had plenty of good material on my travels, and a constant conflict of karma...Like, when I had plenty of time, there was no computer, I was staying in a camper with no internet, in a town of 500 people, so No, No WIFI here... Then, when I had access to a computer, I had no time to chronicle my wonderful information. I had great stuff in my head to write, too...Who couldn't come up with great stuff after hanging out with my husbands ex-wife and husband, family galore, and a wedding. I now realize that I haven't posted in 20 days and that I was only on vacation for 10, hmmm, guess I need a new excuse. Good news is, maybe I will get my Verizon wifi card for Christmas with a shiny new laptop, so that I can post anywhere and everywhere. Hear that Santa? If you wanta toa reada my stuff, you need to fill my sock... (not in Ashley Terms either.) Quick Highlights of the trip...The beautiful bride, seeing Grandma (88) and Grandpa (93?), spending $33 dollars on movie admission and yummy popcorn, complete with Coke Products to watch half the opening credits of CARS, a movie I actually wanted to see, and took my grandson, as an alibi, good thing GOD invented Netflix. I know already I am buying Kalob that movie from Me for Christmas., Another highlight was getting to catch three uncles bdays...Chris (50th, celebrated with a polish Luau) Ernie (74) and Dave (65), both celebrated at my aunts house with yummy potluck food. Speaking of food, I got to re-experience the awesome Polish delight Klusky noodles (dumpling) and sauerkraut. Non-Food highlights include spending time with a great high school friend, Shannon. Playing golf with her and my sister was fun, even though I didn't figure out how to hit the ball until hole number 8, which thank you very much, we used my ball (we were playing Scramble style) Actually it was hole 8 of the second day, I also played like 17 holes the day before. I informed Rodney that I figured it out, and I am ready to go to the driving range, without him yapping in my ear, about keep your eye on the ball, yada, yada, yada., slow down, yada, yada, yada... He said ok, we need to get you some clubs, and I said Ok, and I have already picked out my shoes, to which he said NO, you can't get shoes until you play golf for 9 years. Maybe Santa heard the kind of shoes that I wanted? There are many more highlights, like UND shopping, Whidmans Shopping, eating at the Red Pepper!!!!! Seeing My Dad's best bud and visiting for a couple of hours, coffee from the Urban Stampede, and seeing a couple of friends from high school that I haven't seen since the 1990's sometime, Kim and Noel...Also, I got to see cousins I haven't seen since a long time....Ok, I will not bore you anymore, the more I type, the more things I remember I did, I must have had FUN. Now, it is back to work, and to planning the next vacation.
