A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Negative Marking:

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

IBPS Clerk II allotment process is now over and with this the recruitment process in banks is over for some time. With the advent of IBPS the recruitment process in Public Sector Banks has now become very smooth and now being also conducted in a time bound manner.

As far as recruitment process of IBPS Clerk II is concerned a good number of students have got final selections in various banks however a huge number of students are still waiting for final selection in a Bank. However we would like to suggest that those who have not get selection this lime should not lose hope and should continue their preparation because in competitive exams patience is the key.

Sometimes it appears that it is very difficult to get a bank job however with a little bit of patience and continuous preparation one can get even multiple selections.

How many vacancies were filled in? There were about 39000 vacancies in the IBPS clerk II, exams for which were conducted in the month of December 2012. In the coming IBPS Clerk III we can expect even higher number of vacancies.

State wise minimum and maximum cut offs have been released: Minimum and maximum cut offs have also been released which I am sure many of you have already seen for those who have not gone through the table of cut offs of IBPS Clerk we are providing a link for the same.

Waiting List or 2^nd list: Some of the students are asking about the prospects of releasing of waiting list or 2^nd list however at this stage it is not possible to predict about the chances of any waiting list. Even if there is any prospect of waiting list it will take about 1-2 months to release.

Other important points: You should also keep in mind that you have to qualify for the each test separately and you have to also obtain minimum qualifying overall marks. There is no descriptive test in LIC AAO therefore you need to focus your preparation only on the objective test.

As you know that recruitment in Public Sector Banks is now being conducted by the IBPS and over a period the recruitment process has become more systematic and stable.

The IBPS is now regularly conducting exams for the recruitment of Probationary Officers, Clerks, Specialist Officers and Officers in RRBs. As of now the recruitment process of IBPS PO II is over and recruitment process of clerks is also in its final stages. Last Six Months Current Affairs for Bank Exams

When next IBPS PO III Exam will take place? There has not been any official announcement by the IBPS about the next notification however as per the sources the notification is most likely to be released in the month of August 2013. The exam is likely to be conducted in the month of September – October 2013.

How many Vacancies are likely? As far as vacancies are concerned in the IBPS PO I the

number of vacancies was 19648, in IBPS PO II the total number of vacancies were 22415. However this time we can expect even a higher number of vacancies. The reason for likely higher number of vacancies is, one, due to increase in competition and to provide better customer service, banks require higher number of Officers and two, due to RBI pressure, Public Sector Banks are opening new branches therefore need of the Officers will be more.

On request of the members of our Bank Exams Preparation Group we are here providing you updated details of salary of Bank PO Salary of Nationalized Banks.

Pay Scale: Pay Scale of a Probationary Officer is Rs 14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700 which is applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.

Basic Salary: Starting Basic Salary of a Probationary Officer of a Nationalized Bank is Rs. 14500/-

Dearness Allowance: At present Dearness Allowance is Rs. 11636.25/- which is 80.25% of the basic salary.

Other Allowances and Perks: There are allowances such as HRA (House Rent Allowance) and CCA (City Compensatory Allowance) which depends on the place of posting. There are also a few perks such as petrol allowance, entertainment allowance, cleansing material, news paper allowance etc., the value of perks differ from bank to bank however the lumpsum value of perks is in the range of Rs. 4000 to Rs. 6000.

Other Facilities: There are various other facilities such as Medical, PF, Gratuity, LFC Facility, Leave encashment etc. which are available for a Bank Officer.

I am sure you must have been benefited by these articles. Today I am going to tell you a few last days’ tips which are very useful for SBI PO in particular and for any competitive exam in general.

Study, study and study in the last few days, there is no substitute for the hard work and I would suggest to all serious candidates that they should study as much as they can, level of competition is very high and you should not waste time at all.
Attempt practice tests, online tests and try to increase your speed.
Pay attention towards preparation of all sections because you can not afford to ignore any of the section. You should give more time on preparation of your weaker sections and at the same time continue giving time to your stronger section as well.
Give more time for the preparation of Section of General Awareness, Marketing questions and computer questions and of Section of Data Analysis and Interpretation, the reason is that you can score very high marks in these two sections with good preparation. These two sections will also take less time provided you are well prepared.
I will also suggest you to remain relax and do not study much just one day before the exam as you need to save your energy and need to remain fresh for the next day exam. This will help you to attempt the exam with a fresh mind.
Do not ever get nervous before or during the exam as it can only spoil your exam. Even if you find paper difficult you need to maintain your composure and keep on attempting paper.
Skip the lengthy and difficult questions in the first go. SBI PO Exam pattern is such that there are a few questions which are difficult and time taking therefore you should skip such questions and you can return back to such questions if you left with some time.
Fill your roll number, answer sheets etc. carefully and before entering the exam hall also read the instructions carefully.

It is very important in competitive exams to maintain your composure and keep on working hard even if you are not getting positive results. Because you need to understand that competition is quite tough and at the same time it is also true that if you keep on working you are bound to get success one day. Today we are going to publish the success story of Mr. Surajit Mahanti who has many ups and down but he kept his focus and finally got a good job. Please go through this inspiring success story:

Success Story of Mr. Surajit Mahanti: I am Surajit Mahanti from Bankura, West Bengal. I’m an M.Sc in Mathematics. On 28.02.11 I came here to Kolkata & took admission in RICE. Then I started giving Competitive Exams. Here the list of exams I gave in the last 2 years:

Corporation Bank Clerk:-Pass but not qualified for interview (got 173 & the cut off for WB for interview was 226 out of 260).
Allahabad Bank Clerk:-Not Qualified.
New India Assurance AAO:-Not Qualified.
United India Insurance AAO:-Not Qualified.
CGL 2011:- Got 84 in Tier 1 & cut off was 86.75.
IBPS PO1:-Couldn't qualify due to shortage of 2 marks in Descriptive Paper.
CHSL 2011:-Got 103 & cut off were 107.
IB ACIO III:-Not Qualified.

After another one year of hard work on 29.02.12 IBPS Clerk I result was declared on this day, it was my 1st success in any competitive exams for job. Then I never ever looked back, ran a dream run qualified 12 consecutive written exams.

IBPS Clerk 1:- Qualified with 169 marks, gave only interview for UBI, but not selected. I could give interview for Syndicate Bank too, but didn't apply.
FCI 2012 Tier 1:-Qualified with 122.5 marks.
FCI Tier 2:-Qualified with 134.25 marks. But couldn't make it in the CPT.
RRB PO:-Qualified with 125 marks. Got call from BGVB but didn't attend.
RRB Clerk:-Qualified with 135 marks. Got call from BGVB but didn't attend.
SBI Assistant:-Qualified in written but again could not make it in the interview.(Written 153+ Interview 23=Total 176, but total cut off was 186)
IBPS Clerk 2:-Qualified with 140 marks. Hopefully I don't have to attend interview.
FCI 2013 Tier 1:-Qualified with 125.75 marks. Went to Tier 2 exam but it got cancelled, but I'll skip the rescheduled exam.
CHSL 2012:-Qualified with 123 marks. But I'll skip DEST.
IBPS PO 2:-Qualified with 166 marks. Appeared in the Common Interview & my Combined Score is 65.52. I got United Bank Of India.
CGL 2012 Tier1:-Qualified with 104.75 marks.
CGL 2012 Tier2:-Qualified with 97.5 in Math & 112 in English.
Finally got Accountant in CAG & the best part is that I got posting in West Bengal.

So guys never loose hope, always keep on positive thinking. Prepare as well as you can & give your best in the exams. A man who doesn't believe in himself is an atheist. So, believe in yourself that you can. Everybody wins not immediately but definitely. Every process takes time, success is a process. Take your time to become successful. Everyone has to go through bad phases in life, it’s obvious. If you are not getting success, it's your bad phase. But only you can make it shorter by not giving importance to it. Stay focused at your future. And at the end success will be yours'.

The banks have also developed so many alternate channels products (debit cards, sms banking, mobile banking etc.) as well as cross selling product (insurance products, mutual funds, demat accounts etc.) apart from the general banking products. Therefore the focus of banks has diverted towards many areas and the role of marketing has increased a lot. At the same time with the technological advances in the banks it is very important for a Manager to remain very alert as there are many areas of operational risks which required to be checked by the Officers. Therefore after confirmation there are a lot of responsibilities on Probationary Officers and in Bank Jobs the more you grow in the hierarchy the more responsibilities you will be assigned. What is the level of competition is SBI PO? It is always wise to have good understanding about the type of competition which you are going to face in the exam in which you are going to appear. As per the information published by SBI about 17 lacs students have applied for the post of Probationary Officer. As far as number of vacancies is concerned there are 1544 vacancies in this year SBI PO recruitment which means that about 4600 aspirants will be called for the interview (considering 1:3 ratio in the interview). Going by these figures it can be well understood about the level of competition. Level of competition can be further understood by the following points:

Only 3 aspirants out of 1101 aspirants will be called for the interview (considering 1:3 ratio for interview)
Only 1 out of 1101 aspirants will get the final selection.
In percentage terms only 0.27% of the total candidates will be called for the interviews.
In percentage terms only 0.09% of the total candidates will get the final selection.

The purpose of this analysis is not to scare you but is to make you aware about the level of competition so that you can prepare accordingly. The number of the aspirants applying for SBI PO is no doubt very huge but at the same time let me also tell you that there are a few things which we would like to tell you which will surely give you some relief:

Although 17 lacs students have applied for the posts but going by the past experiences the absentee percentage always remains about 15-20% which means that out of 17 lacs about 3 lacs students are not likely to appear in the exam.
Among those who are going to appear in the exam a huge number of answer sheets are rejected because of the discrepancies in filling up of the answer sheets.
Even bigger number of aspirants failed to qualify the test just because of not qualifying in all the sections of the exams which is a must. You will be surprised to know that many very good students fail to qualify the written just because of failing in maintaining proper balance in all sections of the exams.
A good number of aspirants also fail to qualify the descriptive test even though they have qualified all the sections of the objective test.
You should understand that even though a huge number of students are going to appear in the exam, the real competition is only among those few who are well prepared and have worked on preparation of all sections of the exam.

Therefore we urge all our members of Bank Exam Preparation Group and visitors of our website that mere good preparation is not enough. The need of the hour is to prepare strategically which means apart from the good preparation you also need to focus on following points:

While preparing for the exam you should keep in mind that there is a need of focusing on all the sections because ultimately if you fail to qualify any of the sections you are not going to qualify for the next stage.
Time management is very important and you should practice in such a manner so that you can allocate sufficient time on each section.
You need to ensure that you fill all your details correctly on the answer sheet and question paper so that you may not become victim of any silly mistake.
Do not take the descriptive test lightly as a good number of aspirants fail to qualify the descriptive test. Please ensure that you must qualify the descriptive test.

SBI PO Recruitment 2013 Eligibility: State Bank of India has recently announced recruitment for the post of Probationary Officers. Eligibility Norms of SBI Probationary Officer:

Academic Qualifications: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Question: Whether those who are having marks less than 60% in Graduation are eligible?

Answer: SBI has not mentioned anything about percentage of marks in Graduation which means that any student who is having a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government is eligible to apply in SBI PO exam, aspirants do not need to worry about percentage of marks in graduation.

Question: I am in the final year of the graduation am I eligible to apply in SBI PO?

Answer: As mentioned in the advertisement one must be a graduate at the time of applying for this post which clearly means that final year students are not eligible for applying in SBI PO.

Age Limit: Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.01.2013.

Question: I am completing 21 years in March 2013, whether I am eligible for SBI PO?

Answer: You should understand that as per the advertisement of SBI PO recruitment only those are eligible to apply who must have been born not earlier than 02.01.1983 and not later than 01.01.1992 (both days inclusive). However there is relaxation for the reserved categories as per the norms.

Number of Chances: You must be aware that in SBI there is a restriction on number of chances.

Question: I am a general student; can I appear in SBI PO exam as many times as I wish?

Answer: No, in SBI there is a restriction on number of attempt you can appear in PO exam. You can understand it by going through the table given below.

Remark: General category candidates who have appeared on 4 occasions in the recruitment examination of POs for SBI are not eligible to apply. In respect of General (PWD), OBC & OBC (PWD) candidate’s chances will be counted prospectively from the examination held on 18.04.2010.

SBI PO Salary, Pay scales, Salary structure, perks and allowances: In this post we are going to tell you in detail about the salary, perks and other allowances of SBI Probationary Officer. As many members of our Bank Exams Preparation Group frequently ask about the salary, perks and allowances of SBI Probationary Officer.

Pay Scale: The starting basic pay of a Probationary Officer is Rs 16,900/- (with 4 increments) in the scale of Rs 14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700.

What is a pay scale? Pay scale is the range of salary from the starting basic to last basic in that particular grade, for example the starting basic salary of a JMGS Officer is Rs. 14500.00 and the last basic salary of a JMGS Officer is Rs. 25700.00. In SBI there is a provision of four additional increments for Probationary Officers at the time of joining hence the starting basic salary of a SBI Probationary Officer is Rs. 16900.00 (Rs. 14500 + four increments i.e. Rs. 600 X 4 = Rs. 16900.00).

Dearness Allowance: Apart from the basic salary a Probationary Officer is also eligible for Dearness Allowance or D.A. which is currently 80.25% of basic salary hence one will also get Rs. 13562.25 as DA, apart from the basic salary of Rs. 16900.00

What is Dearness Allowance: Dearness allowance is being decided by the IBA from time to time, the revision in DA is based on an index and the rate is being revised keeping in mind current inflation rate and economic conditions. The Dearness Allowance is being revised four times in a year or on a quarterly basis.

HRA and CCA: Apart from the Basic salary and Dearness Allowance a Probationary Officer is also entitled for House Rent Allowance (HRA) and City Compensatory Allowance (CCA). While the HRA ranges from 7.50% to 15% of the basic salary depending upon the location of the posting. CCA value also depends upon the place of posting of the Officer.

Perks and Allowances: In SBI there are also various perks such as petrol allowance, newspaper allowance, entertainment allowance, servant allowance etc. the lumpsum rupee value for all such perks is in the range of Rs. 6000.00 – Rs. 8000.00 depending upon the place of posting.

Lease Rent Facility: Probationary Officers are also entitled for attractive Lease Rent Facility. An Officer is entitled for Leased accommodation ranging from Rs 8000.00 in ‘C’ category Centres to Rs 29500.00 in Mumbai Centre.

What is Lease Rent Facility: Lease rent facility is a facility provided by the bank in which the house rent of the house of the Officer is directly paid by the bank to the landlord within the entitlement of Officer.

Furniture and Fixtures: Probationary Officers are also entitled for purchasing Furniture and Fixtures of Rs. 90000.00 for their home. The bank also pays annual maintenance perks of Rs. 10000.00 for the maintenance of Furniture purchased by the Probationary Officer.

Medical Facility: Medical facility in SBI is also very attractive. Medical Aid for self is 100% and for the family is 75% it means that 100 % of your medical bills will be reimbursed by the bank for you and 75% for your family members, subject to the bank norms.

Provident Fund: The officers are required to make 10% of their basic pay as contribution to Provident Fund and the Bank also makes matching contribution to the Employees Provident Fund.

Concessional Loans to Bank Officers: Bank also provides concessional interest rates for Housing/Car/Personal Loans.

Package or CTC of the Probationary Officer: Now-a-days term of salary package or CTC has become a very popular term and everybody is interested in knowing his or her salary package. As per the rough estimates we can safely say that the salary package of a Probationary Officer of SBI in a city like Mumbai is around Rs. 8 – 9 lacs.

What is a salary package? For those who are not aware of the salary package or CTC term we would like to tell that a salary package or CTC (cost to the company) is the total benefit one is drawing from the employer.

Salary Revision of Bank Employees: In the end we will also tell you that the salary of Bank Employees will rise further as the salaries are due for revision from November 2012. The salary of Bank employees are revised after every 5 years.

What is Professional Knowledge Test? Professional knowledge test is a test which is based on your specialized field or post, for example if you are applying for IT Officer post than in the professional knowledge test questions will be based on IT/computer related fields similarly if you are applying for the Marketing Officer post than the test will be based on Marketing questions likewise law based questions will be asked from a candidate who has applied for the post of Law Officer. So all of you should understand that this test is a test to check how well you have the knowledge about your specialized field.

Purpose of Professional Knowledge Test: Since this CWE is for specialist Officers Recruitment hence banks require specialized people from different field. The purpose of this test is to assess your knowledge about the profession in which you have shown your interest.

Dressing inappropriately: Some of the aspirants, take their interviews very lightly and do not pay much attention towards their dressing or attires during the interviews. All of you should understand that interview is a test of your personality and a good appearance is very important for success. It does not mean that you should look like a model rather what I mean to say that you should present yourself in the best possible manner by putting decent clothes on the big occasion. Your clothes should not be flashy; you should try to put sober clothes. Boys should always put a tie because it creates a good impression.

Touching your hair, nose etc. during the interview: Some candidates are in habit of touching their hair, nose or chin during the interview again and again. Such movements should be strictly avoided as such actions are symbol of low confidence and interviewer do not like it. One should sit straight with a smile on his or her face and should be totally focused and attentive towards the board members.

Not making eye contact with the interviewer: Some aspirants commit the mistake of not making proper eye contact with the board members. You should make a good eye contact with the member who is asking question to you. If you are not making proper eye contact, it indicates that you are not paying proper attention and it won’t create a good impression.

Showing hesitation while answering the questions: Some aspirants show lot of hesitation while answering the questions and they hesitate even more when they do not know answer of any question. One should understand that interview is a discussion to asses the communication skill of the candidate and the more clear you are in your thoughts the better chances you have for the selection. So remain confident and answer clearly with poise and even if you are not aware of any answer please do not bluff the board rather communicate that you are not aware of the answer.
