Which one is better RBI Assistant or IBPS PO?

Today I am going to write about RBI Assistant and IBPS PO Jobs. Many of my students often ask me that which one is a better job, RBI Assistant or IBPS PO. In this post I am going to tell which one is better. However this is my personal opinion only. Before choosing any career you must take your own decision and opinion from your near and dear ones.

RBI Assistant and IBPS PO both are government jobs. Therefore job security is almost equal in both the jobs. However in RBI job security is slightly more as RBI Assistant is a back office job. In IBPS PO you are most of the time involved in operations, financial transactions and decisions. There are instances when Bank Officers land into trouble because of frauds in the banks. In such scenario one may face accountability and an Officer can face difficult time.

The salary of IBPS PO is better than that of RBI Assistant. However the RBI Assistant salary is also decent but not as good as that of IBPS PO.

In IBPS PO there are frequent transfers and your life does not settle as an Officer you have to move every 2-3 years. However in RBI Assistant there is no such issue and transfers are very less.

Since RBI is the Central Bank of the country it is having most of the offices in big cities only. However in IBPS PO you can be posted any where such as villages, small towns etc. as bank branches are spread all over the country.

RBI Assistant is a very peaceful job. There is not much workload and facilities provided by RBI are excellent. Whereas in IBPS PO there is lot of pressure, challenges and targets. Hence RBI Assistant is much peaceful job in comparison to IBPS PO.

Career wise IBPS PO is better as in IBPS PO you will get frequent chances for the promotions.

Therefore you can see the pro and cons of both the jobs. If you are a career oriented person and looking for rise in your career then IBPS PO is a better job. However if you want a settled and peaceful job then RBI Assistant is the right choice.

Expected Cut Off Oriental Insurance Administrative Officer Preliminary Examination 2017

Expected Cut Off Oriental Insurance Administrative Officer Preliminary Examination (Phase I) 2017

In this post we are going to analyze the expected cut off of Preliminary examination (phase I) for the recruitment of Administrative Officer in Oriental Insurance Company. The Oriental Insurance Company has conducted the phase I examination for the recruitment of Administrative Officer on 22.10.2017. The tentative date for the phase II of the exam i.e. main examination will be on 18.11.2017.

There are a total of 300 vacancies for the Administrative Officerposts in Oriental Insurance Company. The preliminary examination was of 1 hour duration and there were three sections namely English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude.

There were a total of 100 questions which were to be solved in 60 minutes. The exam was very much similar like that of IBPS PO 2017 however the level of question was easier as compared to that of IBPS PO. Exam pattern was very much similar to that of IBPS PO.

Now let us discuss about the expected cut off of this exam. The cutoff of this exam is going to remain high mainly because of two reasons. First, the difficulty level of the questions was easy to moderate and second, the number of vacancies is only 300.

With only 300 vacancies in hand we cannot expect cut off to remain low as not many students are going to qualify for the mains examination.

Apart from the cut off you must also remember that you need to qualify the sectional as well as over all cut off. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks. All these things make an exam difficult particularly when vacancies are also so low.

Now let us discuss section wise as well as overall cut off of the exam. I am talking here about general category. The OBC cut off is slightly lower that the general category and for SC, ST and other category it will be even lower.

English Language: This section was moderate in terms of difficulty level. The topic on reading comprehension was related to Arctic Sea Polythene Accession. There was 1 question on Antonyms and 2 questions on synonyms based on the passage. Other questions were quite simple. Expected cut off of this section will be 10-12 questions.

Reasoning Ability: Reasoning section was quite simple. There were questions on linear (north-south), circular, day and color, box etc. Expected cut off of this section will be 12-13 questions.

Quantitative Aptitude: There were two D.I., 5 number series questions, 5 approximation questions, 5 quadratic equations and rest misc questions. Expected cut off of this section should be about 10-11 questions.

However these sectional cut off are minimum cut off to qualify the section. The overall cut off to qualify will be much higher and will be in the range of 66-68marks.

IBPS PO Preliminary Examination 2017 Result - Expected Date and Cut Off

In the last post I have told you about the expected cut off of IBPS PO 2017. Today I am going to tell you about the expected result date of the IBPS PO Preliminary Examination 2017.

IBPS Probationary Officer Preliminary Examination was held in 4 days of October 2017. The exam was conducted by the IBPS on 7, 8, 14 and 15 October 2017. The main exam of this popular exam is scheduled to be held on 26 November 2017.

Lacs of students appeared in the preliminary examination. Now students are eagerly waiting for the declaration of the result of IBPS PO preliminary examination 2017.

As per the scheduled of the events published by the IBPS in the recruitment notification of the IBPS PO tentative dates of the entire schedule of the IBPS PO were published. As per the schedule of events the result of the IBPS PO Preliminary Examination 2017 will be declared in the October itself.

Therefore it is almost certain that the result of the IBPS PO will be decalared on any day of the last week of the October 2017.

Last week of October 2017 is going to be very important for the students as two major result will be declared. The result of IBPS PO Pre Exam 2017 as well as result of SSC CGL Tier I 2017 will be declared. SSC has already published its entire calendar for the declaration of results of various exams. SSC CGL Tier I result will be declared on 31 October 2017.

We will suggest you to continue your preparation for the IBPS Main examination and not to wait for the result. There will not be much time hence the best strategy is to prepare well for the main examination. You can also see the expected cut off which will give you an idea about the expected cut off of this year as well as about the cut off of the previous years.

The pattern of the main exam has changed. The main exam will comprise of letter and essay writing in addition to Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy / Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation.

There will be 155 objective questions and the time limit will be 3 hours. There will be 2 descriptive questions which are to be solved in 30 minutes.

IB ACIO Tier I Examination of 15.10.2017is now over. In this post I am going to give you a brief analysis of the exam and expected cut off.

The exam has just got over and I am writing this post immediately after the exam. Detailed analysis of the exam I will provide you later. Here is the brief Analysis of the Exam:

Reasoning:Easy to moderate level, good score 18-20

Math: Easy to moderate level good score 18-20, there were 4-5 questions on average, 8-10 on speed n distance, 4 questions on series, 1 on sum of natural number, 1 on simplification, 1 on ratio and proportion, 1 on compound interest.

General Awareness: Moderate to difficult, good score 15-16, most of the questions were on conventional GK however 4-5 questions were on current affairs.

English: easy to moderate, good score 17-18

SSC has announced result date of all its major examination in one important notification. SSC has announced result date of important exams such as Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Examination 2017,

Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-II), Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017, Stenographers’ Grade C & D Examination 2017 (Written Examination Result), Stenographers’ Grade C & D Examination 2016 (Skill Test Result), Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract) Examination-2016 (Paper-II).

In an important announcement Staff Selection Commission has announced tentative as well as confirmed dates of its various exams. SSC has also given a detailed date chart of all its exams since 30.11.2016. In this chart SSC has mentioned tentative date of declaration of result, firm date of declaration of result and dates of results which have already been declared.

With this announcement there is a sigh of relief among candidates as they are wasting their lot of time an energy in searching when the result of the exam in which they appeared, will be declared.

The SSC has given tentative and firm dates of declaration of results of exams of Junior Hindi Translators, Junior Translators, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Examination 2017, Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-II), Combined Graduate Level Examination 2017.

SSC has also given tentative dates of declaration of results of exams of Stenographers’ Grade C & D Examination 2017 (Written Examination Result), Stenographers’ Grade C & D Examination 2016 (Skill Test Result), Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract) Examination-2016 (Paper-II).

Time Management Tips for IBPS PO Exam 2017

Today I am going to talk about time management for the IBPS PO Examination 2017. IBPS PO exam is very close now and I am sure that all of you will be giving final touch up to your preparation.

It is always good to practice as much as you can in the last few days. The more you practice the better your speed will be. Apart from knowledge IBPS PO exam is also an exam of speed and accuracy. Those having better speed and accuracy are likely to get success in this exam.

In my view apart from all this one more thing which is a key to success in this exam is time management. This is an exam of only 60 minutes and if you do not manage your time well, these 60 minutes will go away in no time. It is very important for candidates to manage and plan their time very well. Few important things for time management are as under:-

Do not waste your time at all. Give complete focus to your exam. Do not look here and there during the exam and do not waste even a single second.
Read the instructions very carefully well before the exam. During the exam you should not be confused about anything. Your focus should only be towards your exam only.
You should be well aware about the exam pattern and syllabus. A good clarity will save your time and during the exam there will not be any surprises for you.
You should know the art of skipping difficult questions. If you have prepared well you can easily identify which are the difficult questions. Your first objective should be to attempt all the questions which you know and which take less time. Once you do this thereafter you can attempt the remaining questions.
Plan your order of sections well before the exam. It means you should be clear which section you are going to do first.
Since you have to clear cut off of each section therefore allocate time for each section. Many times I have seen students doing the mistake of not planning time management for each section. This may result good performance in 1-2 section and poor in remaining. Your objective should be to give balance performance in each section. Once you achieve this task thereafter you can give more time for the remaining questions.
Attempt practice sets in lesser time limits. For example the time limit is 60 minutes for the exam however in practice sets you may fix time limit of 50 minutes only. This will improve your speed.

So these were the some important time management tips which I thought to share with all of you just before the exam. Last thing which I want to tell you that during the exam you should remain positive and confident which will help you to understand the paper quickly. Even if paper is tough you objective should be to remain calm and given a balance performance in all sections.

Latest IBPS Bank Clerk Salary - Pay Scale, Gross, Take Home Salary

Quite often students ask about what is the latest salary of IBPS Bank Clerk in Public Sector Banks or in Private sector banks. I am going to explain in details about the latest salary of IBPS Bank Clerk or Assistant in public sector as well as private sector banks.

The last revision of salary of bank employee took place in May 2015 wef November 2012. The next revision of salary is due from November 2017. Hence the salary of Bank Clerk is under revision.

First let me tell you about the pay scale of a Bank Clerk. The pay scale of a Bank Clerk will look like this, Rs. 11765 - (655x3) - 13730 - (815x3) - 16175 - (980x4) - 20095 - (1145x7) - 28110 - (2120x1) - 30230 - (1310x1) – 31540. It means that the starting basic salary will be Rs. 11765 thereafter there will be different annual increments (the figures in the brackets indicate the annual increments and the number of stages for which the same is applicable).

Therefore you can see that the starting basic salary of a Bank Clerk is Rs. 11765. On this basic salary there will be various allowances which will be payable to a bank clerk. The Dearness Allowance is a major allowance and currently it is about 48 % of salary. Therefore on a basic of Rs. 11765 you will get Dearness Allowance of Rs. 5647. Dearness Allowance is revised every quarter and generally it increases. You will also get Special Allowance of 7.75% of your basic and Dearness Allowance is also payable on it. Hence it will be about Rs. 912 + Rs. 438 = Rs. 1350. The HRA of 10% or 9% or 7.5% is also payable depending on the place of posting. Hence considering the minimum you will get Rs. 882 as HRA.

Therefore we can very well arrive that the gross salary of a Bank Clerk at the minimum of its scale will be Rs. 11765 + Rs. 5647 + Rs. 1350 + Rs. 882 = Rs 19644. In metro it will be about Rs. 20500.

There are a few allowances as well such as Newspaper allowance, petrol allowance, officiating allowance through which you may get Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 per month.

Apart from the salary you will also get many benefits such as concessionary loans, provident fund, pension benefits, gratuity, LFC facility, scholarship for kids, medical facility and various other indirect benefits.

The salary of a Bank Clerk may appear low but it is a very good job. The element of job security is there, you will also having regulated working hours and there are very less transfers. So in many ways the job of a Bank Clerk is better than that of a Bank Probationary Officer. The salary of a Bank Clerk in Public Sector as well as Private Sector is almost similar. However the job security is more in public sector banks.

How to Prepare for Current Affairs - For Competitive Examination

Students frequently ask me how to prepare for current affairs for exams such as Bank PO, SSC, UPSC, IBPS Exams, Railways, Interviews and other competitive examinations.

Current Affairs preparation is very important for competitive exams. Particularly in exams such as Bank PO, SBI PO, Insurance exams, the current affairs questions are being asked frequently. In SSC and UPSC exams also current affairs are an integral part of the General Awareness paper however in SSC and UPSC number of current affairs questions are less.

Current affairs are also very important for your interviews as in interviews questions are asked frequently on current affairs.

Therefore it is obvious that preparation of current affairs is very important if you are preparing for competitive exams. The best way to prepare for the current affairs is the regular reading of the news paper and noting down the important points.

SSC CGL Tier I Expected Cut Off 2017 - Cut Off May Remain Low

Today I am going to tell you about the SSC CGL Tier I Expected cut off 2017. I will also tell you about the cutoff of the previous year i.e. SSC CGL 2016. We try to arrive at the expected cut off of SSC CGL 2017.

As you are aware that SSC is conducting SSC CGL Tier I examination from 05.08.2017 to 24.08.2017. The tier I exam is now almost over. More than 30 lacs applicants have applied for the SSC CGL Examination 2017.

The level of competition is very high in SSC CGL examination. Therefore it is very important for a candidate to perform well. Good performance will ensure your selection for the next round.

I am sure all of you must have performed to the best of your abilities. It’s now time to discuss what would be the likely cut offthis year.

However before discussing the cut off two things I would like to tell, first is the cutoff of the last year and the changes in the exam this year. The cut off for the last year was 137 for general candidates for OBC it was 125 and for other reserved category it was even lower.

The change which has taken place in this exam is that the last year the duration of the examination was 75 minutes. However this year it was reduced to 60 minutes only. The impact of 15 minutes would be high. Further, the level of questions as far as General Awareness section was quite high this year. Therefore it is obvious that cut off should remain lower this year.

I have talked to many good students this year. Even they are finding it tough to score high marks this year only because of the time constraint. 60 minutes is too less a time for an exam which consists of 4 sections.

Therefore in my view the SSC CGL Tier I Expected cut off 2017this year has to remain low. Any score above 125 should be a safe score to qualify for the next round. The cut off may go even lower and should remain in the range of 118 to 125. However this is my personal opinion which is based on discussions with the aspirants, analysis of this year exam, analysis of cut off of the last year and considering the reduction in the time duration of the exam this year. I wish good luck to all the aspirants for a wonderful result.

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2017 - Latest Pattern and Syllabus

In this post I am going to tell you about the RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2017. RBI Assistant is regarded one of the best jobs of the industry. It is rated even higher than IBPS PO mainly because of the brand RBI and the facilities offered by apex bank of India i.e. Reserve Bank of India.

The exam will be conducted in three phases:

1. Preliminary Examination:There will be three papers in the preliminary examination. The papers are English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. In English paper there will be 30 objective questions. While in Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability there will be 35 questions each.

Hence there will be 100 questions of 100 marks in the Preliminary Examination.

IBPS Clerk Pay Scale: The pay scale of the IBPS clerk is as under:

Rs. 11765 – (655x3) – 13730 – (815x3) – 16175 – (980x4) – 20095 – (1145x7) – 28110 – (2120x1) – 30230 – (1310x1) – 31540

If you do not understand what the meaning of pay scale is, I will explain it to you. Rs. 11765 will be the basic salary. The figures in the bracket are increments. For example 655 x 3 means increments of Rs. 655 for 3 years. If a candidate joins as IBPS clerk his basic salary after 3 increments will be like this Rs. 11765 + Rs. 655 + Rs. 655 + Rs. 655 = Rs. 13730 and so on. Hope the concept of pay scale is now clear to you.

Dearness Allowance: As an IBPS clerk you will also get dearness allowance. I will explain it for those who are not aware. Dearness Allowance or DA is paid to employees and pensioners of government organizations, PSU, PSB etc. It is calculated in terms of inflation. The purpose of the DA is to minimize the impact of rising inflation. In simple words when inflation will raise your salry will also rise due to increase in DA. Dearness Allowance is paid every quarter. At present DA is 45% which means that on a basic salary of Rs. 11765 you will get Rs. 5294 as Dearness Allowance. When inflation decreases the DA may also fall but it happens very rarely. Most of the time, it only increases.

Special Allowance: This has been added from last revision. It is 7.75% of the basic salary. DA is also paid on it. It means that on a basic of Rs. 11765, the special allowance will be Rs. 912 and DA on it will be Rs. 410.

House Rent Allowance: HRA is linked to the place of posting. Depending upon the place of posting it can be either 10% or 9% or 7.5%.

So you can see that the salary of an IBPS clerk is in the range of Rs. 19200 to Rs. 19550 depending upon posting place.

What is the difference between IBPS Clerk Salary and SBI Clerk Salary? In SBI there are a few extra perks due to which the salary is high in SBI. Roughly in SBI there are extra perks of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500.

In this post I am going to tell you about the latest IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern 2016. IBPS has recently announced the dates for the IBPS Clerk Exam 2016. Therefore for those students who want to begin their preparation for IBPS Clerks, it is the right time.

IBPS has changed the exam pattern of IBPS Clerk Exam from 2015 and now the exam is being conducted in two phases. These two phases are preliminary and Mains Examination. It is still not clear whether interview will be conducted for the clerk recruitments or not. Recently it has been announced by the government that there will not be interview for Group C and D posts in central government.

It is also expected that the same will be applicable in banks also.

The latest and changed exam pattern of IBPS clerk in 2016 is expected to be as under.

Phase I - Preliminary Examination

Reasoning Ability

There will be 30 questions each in the English Language and Numerical Ability sections and in Reasoning Ability there will be 35 questions. Hence there will be a total of 100 questions of 100 marks in preliminary examination. The duration of the exam will be 1 hour.

In the mains examination there will be 40 questions in each of the section and the total time available will be 2 hours. The paper will be of 200 marks.
