Shortcut to find cube root

some times in quantitative aptitude test finding out cube root can turn in to massive headache , normally the question will be about finding square root of integers and six digits. This technique wont work with numbers more than six digits or which is not a perfect cube. This can really save some time for you.

Ok first lets take an example, say , 117649

The answer is 49, lets see how to find it in less than 20 seconds. To solve this you should know cube root of first ten numbers.

Step 1: in the above table we can see the cube root of first 10 numbers, The question is to find the cube root of 117649

first divide the above number in to two, Start with the last three numbers, it will be your first half and the remaining number will be your other half, see the example below.

Step 2: now , consider the second part (i,e) 117 , see where it lies in the above table, in the above table it lies between 4 and 5, now we have to take the lowest number of these two (i,e) 4

Step 3: now, consider the first part 649 , the three digit number ends with 9, in the above table we can see that cube root of 9 gives a answer that ends with 9 , therefore 9 is the second answer

combining step 2 and 3 we get 49, which is the final answer

A Knowledge in banking terms and their activities will help you in success.Learn a lot about Reserve bank of India, about their acts , policies, committee etc, do the same for SEBI . Make note of authors and their books in that year as far as general knowledge is concern, then know about important people arriving india and also about summits[where&when] .

Leave doubtful questions:
Dont try to attend doubtful questions , because it will extract more time, You should not afford to spend more than 1 to 1.5 minutes for a question. Work out easy questions first, and leave the doubtful ones later, some times you may get time to think clearly at the end.

Donts for Playboys/naughties :
Don’t get yourself in any unpleasant situation, do not use any unfair things like carrying formulas in a paper or in handouts are asking help from others, this is not your school exams , this is your life you may get banned to write bank exams for ever at least for that organization, Thats a black mark. It is one of the major concern for all the people who write bank exams from A-Z, either it is the first time or 26th time you write the bank exam negative marks will come up easily unless you concentrate well on the following things. Normally negative marks range from 0.25 and rarely ends with 0.50 , which depends on the mark that question carries.

# First of all, You should know what type questions will be asked in that particular exam, for that you should go through previous question papers, because these guys who are setting the paper has the mentality of using the same blueprint/pattern.This will help you knowing what type of questions will be asked in each section.With that knowledge you can prepare well and also you can plan how much time you are going to spend for each section.

# As the legend says "Practice makes a man perfect" practice and only practice will decide either you win or lose the exam. There are various sites and books that can teach you short cut methods for each problem. get previous year question papers from internet or from the book called Pratiyogita Darpan [i recommend ] and write a mock test in your home and set the stop watch to 115-120 . Learning short cuts will help you in getting answers right and in short time, helping you both in time management and error management.

# Write each and every formulas you see in a notepad or a paper, carry it to the exam center and carefully go through before you enter the exam hall because revising can help you to access formulas quickly from your brain.

# If you find General awareness and socio-economic questions are tough enough, you can write them in a notepad or paper as per month or year, which will help you in last minute revising .

# Stay calm when you dont know a question or more than a question, Go for the others.If you are confident that you can solve it, then go for it else leave the unknown questions for later,because you may get stuck with it , so leave it for later which will save you some time and also some marks. Don't guess any answer, the probability of getting correct is less.

As a Bank Clerk, you could be separated into one of the following:

Interest Clerk: recording interest owed to saving accounts customers and interest owed to the bank from loans and other investments.

Statement Clerk: preparing the monthly balance sheets of checking account customers.

Aptitude: Problems On Ages for [clerk and p.o]

Problems on ages is really a complicated part in aptitude test since they take more time compared to that of the other problems we see. Normally people solve these problems with a direct method or they just skip this question. Yet every problems have a shortcut solution method to solve them, so do this. here i gonna give some formula and along with some examples to solve them.lets see it below..

Before we start, there are four formulas used for these problems based on their type. all you have to do is to identify the question type and apply the formula to get the answers in time..

Type 1:

't' years earlier, the father's age was x times that of his son. At present the father's age is Y times that of his son. what are the present ages of father and his son? .

Shortcut Formula: for son's age = t (x-1) / x-y

for father's age = y t (x-1) / x-y , that's it

TYPE 1 EXAMPLE :

10 years ago, my mother was four times older than me . now my mother will be twice older than me. what is my present age.?

shortcut method:

son's age = 10 (4-1)/ 4-2 = 10 / ans

Type 2:

The present age of father is 'Y' times the age of his son. After 't' years, the father's age is 'z' times the age of his son. present age of father and son?

Shortcut formula : son's age = (z-1)t / y-z

father's age = y t (z-1)/ y-z

TYPE 2 EXAMPLE :

The age of a man is 4 times of his son. 5 years ago , the man was nine times as old as his son. calculate their ages ?

Shortcut method : z=9 , t=5 , y=4

son's age is  = 5(9-1)/ 9-4 = 8

father's age is = (4*5)(9-1)/(9-4)= 32 

(or)

since father's age is 9 times as son's age, therfore 4*8= 32 .

't2' years earlier the age of the father was 'X' times the age of his son. 't2' years later, the age of the father becomes 'Z' times the age of son. what is the present age of father and son?

Shortcut Formula:
son's age = [t2(z-1)+ t1(x-1)] / (x-z)
Father's age = t1(z-1) + t1 (x-1)

TYPE 3 EXAMPLE :

Five years before the fathers age was 7 times of his son's age. 5 years hence , father's age 3 times the age of his son. find their present age?

Short cut method : t1= 5, t2=5, x= 7, z= 3

son's age = [5(3-1)]+5(7-1)] / 7-3 = 10
father's age = 10(7-3) = 40

Type 4:
The ratio of both father and son's age at the present is X:Y . 't' years before the ratio was A:B what is their present age?

Shortcut Formula:
son's age = y*[t(a-b)/x*b-a*y]
Father's age = x*[t(a-b)/x*b-a*y]

TYPE 4 EXAMPLE :

the age of you and me are in the ratio 9:4. seven years hence ratio of our ages will be 5:3. find our present age?

Short cut method :

son's age = 4*[7(5-3) / (9*3) - (5*4)] = 8
father's age = 9*[7(5-3) / (9*3) - (5*4)] = 18
