***It's obviously hard to see or find Replacement banknotes with Solid Numbers but they do exist, esp. if these replacements were printed in huge quantities and of course, by now, even Tom, Dick & Harry know that the RM10 ZD & ZE series have been printed in colossal quantites, almost as if there were regular issues.
And here is a piece with the Solid Numbers of ZD 7777777 and of course, in Uncirculated condition as what's the use of having one in crumpled grades like EF & VF & esp. so for purists.....?
And before any mischievous motherfucker(s) out there think this banknote is a 'consignment' from some other 3rd and/or 4th parties, let me put the record freaking straight here & that is, no 'consignment(s)' are allowed on this blog....
Common sense tells me that no one has a complete set of this ZD Replacement series as the 'shareholding' is quite evenly spread out among several collectors.
What matters now is who, who has the all important pivotal note, I mean the one that bears the Serial Numbers of ZD 8888888, a Serial Number very much craved for and constantly gloated about?!

***How many of you actually have seen the current Zeti's RM10 banknote series bearing the Serial NOs of 10000000? Very few, perhaps, 99 out of 100 have never seen, or better still, 999 out of 1,000 didn't know even it existed.
Only a select few actually own this RM10 note bearing this serial numbers & the numbers are so few that we can actually count them with out fingers & I have just counted & recounted and believe it or not, I realised that only an estimated 6 collectors have a piece of this 10000000.
As such, can we qualify this note as a rare note or maybe, the RM1 CR Ali Abul Hassan note is 'rarer?!'
You go ahead & define what is rare is rare or what rare is rare?!

Malaysia 1995 $500 Ahmad Don Uncirculated Banknotes

***By now, all collectors & dealers alike in Malaysia know that the $500 banknote signed by Ahmad Don is a scarce banknote, esp. in UNC Condition and more so, if found in running numbers.
But, how often has one even seen 7 fresh pieces in consecutive sequence esp in fresh UNC Condition? As such, go ahead & feast your eyes as these will never pass this way again.
Its banknotes like these that gives cause to crow and to gloat as these are international auction houses material.
Perhaps, it would be even better to send them to PMG to have them professionally graded & be returned as PMG 67 or even PMG 68 as they do indeed do qualify for such superlative standards!

Malaysia 1982 $500 About Uncirculated

***This Uncirculated banknote was despatched to PMG for their professional grading but was however returned & graded as About Uncirculated PMG 50.

I am not surprised as PMG has a set of strict criteria it follows so as to properly grade a raw note which to our naked eyes could be this or that grade but with 3 persons doing the grading, I suppose PMG knows best.

I have always been proud to own banknotes 'slabbed' by PMG as they are banknotes which have been professionally graded by numismatic professionals and there's never a doubt, at least in my humble opinion, as to the final grades of these notes.

I am actually preparing to have a batch of notes despatched to PMG for their professional expertise very, very soon.

Malaysia 1985 $20 1 Stack 100 Pieces Uncirculated Banknotes

***When the $20 denomination banknotes were first issued in Malaysia more than 20 years ago, they were meant for circulation, they were meant for daily use.

However, most were 'hoarded' and as such, one seldom did see the $20 banknotes being put to daily use.

Actually, the sub-sale prices of these banknotes hardly moved until these late few years & for the one issued in 1985, its price only had its upticks last year, more than 20 years after it first appeared.

If you had 'hoarded' them from day one, inflation and other factors would have eaten into your profits or whatever that's left of them.

Now, the RM20 deno is re-appearing again & the trillion dollar question is, will they be 'hoarded' again by collectors and dealers alike?!

Malaysia 1967 1st Series Last Prefix Uncirculated

***This bunch of notes look as if they just came out from Bank Negara Malaysia's vault last night as they look so virginally pristine, so to speak.
How they have maintained their original conditions, with strong embossment, bright sheen & freshness & with no signs of tropicalisation is just beyond belief?
And these 1st series Malaysian banknotes that bear the Last Prefix must have, I am strongly convinced, just come out of the Central Bank's strongroom.
Even if these notes do show signs of tropicalisation, it would definitely be a cardinal sin to have them chemically washed, or to put it mildy, chemically cleaned.
Cleaning banknotes with strong chemical destroys the original condition of the banknotes, reducing their status to trash level but believe it or not, most collectors are unaware that they have acquired chemically washed notes, which were thereafter pressed or even ironed to make them look 'good.'
It is strongly believed that 70 to 80% of Malaysian banknotes of the earlier series in various Malaysian collectors' hands could have been washed before, but then, why would one complain as after all, when one pays peanuts, monkeys will be what one gets in the end.

Malaysia 2012 $50 Solid Numbers 9999999

***2 pieces of the current RM50 Malaysian banknotes with the rather desirable Solid Numbers of 9999999, which in various Chinese dialects could mean 'longevity', 'play' or even man's best friend, 'dog!'
Of course, yours truly would prefer to get hold of the elusive prosperous Solid 8888888s but where are they & who is/are the bloke(s) who is/are so-to-speak 'controlling' notes with these numbers? No crystal balls can answer that, I suppose.
Maybe, they could be up north in Sungai Petani as after all LOTS of collectors there seem to have lots of 'goodie, goodie' stuff, or do they?!
Heard from news coming from there that even ridiculously & so brazenly claimed that a Premium Set Of 6 banknotes set bearing the Serial NOs of AA 0000999 has 'changed hands.'

Malaysia 1986 $1000 Banknote Uncirculated

***A Running Pair of the Malaysian $1,000 banknote issued more than 25 years ago, many of this issue in low grades but extremely few & esp. so in consecutive sequence for the Uncirculated ones.

And with the grading professionally authenticated by well-known grading house, PMG, & furthermore designated as "EPQ", there is definitely no doubting anymore as to the grade of these 2 notes.

But even then, PMG doesn't simply overgrade and maintains its high grading standards whereby even though these 2 pieces are in sequence, both of them didn't get the same grading. That speaks highly of the high criteria PMG follows.

As such, buyers can buy at peace when buying already graded banknotes, esp. those by respected PMG as more often than not, 'raw' banknotes tend to be overgraded by their owners.

Malaysia 2012 $5 ZA Polymer Replacements

Malaysia 2011 World Wildlife Fund Proof Set Of 2

***The issuance of this WWF's Proof Set series late last year signalled a shift in how the Central Bank sells such coins to the general public, whereby for the 1st time ever, each individual can only buy 1 item and can't queue for a 2nd time.

With this move, all loudmouth dealers have been killed with a stroke of the pen as they now can't get the above item in large quantities (serve them right, these motherfuckers) and another consequence from the Central Bank's action was the strong spike in the prices of the WWF's proof Sets, esp. the Set Of 2 & Single Silver set as no one person 'controls' a huge quantity of them.

It's already predicted in the back alleys & via grapevine that the prices of the these Set Of 2s & Single Silvers will go higher in time to come due to very few available for sale in the sub-sale market, with some dungus saying that the Set Of 2 is destined to touch the RM1,000 mark & with the Single Silver touching the the humble RM800 mark.

And the same learned dungus are saying that the coincards might touch RM80 to RM100 next year.

And actually, for once, I can't help but do tend to agree with these dungus.....

***The purpose of featuring this 'pair' of the soon-to-be-extinct RM10 series with the Solid Numbers of 9999999 is simply not to gloat about them or show-off, like what some folks tend to do online, but to show all those paranoid & without-grey-matter junior collectors that at times, 2 banknotes do not neccessary share the same size.
As can be conspicuously seen, one note is shorter than the other by at least an mm. Why? Don't ask me why as such an occurrence is quite common.
But lots of neophyte collectors have the paranoia-filled tendency of concluding that the 'shorter' note must have been trimmed.
To such morons, can you give 1 bloody good reason why a note like this should be or ought to have been trimmed?! And how can one trim 5 to 10 consecutive notes and get them all look alike & above all, why would one waste time & effort trimming such cheap-skate notes?
Use your grey-matter & don't just blindly follow what catalogues say sizewise; if you have nothing good to say, then, it's best you shut your trap & make less of those supposition & paranoia-filled moronic comments, thankyouverymuch.

2012 Set Of 6 Banknotes Same Serial Numbers, Same Prefixes Malaysia

***Definitely a set of very unique Malaysian banknotes with them all having the same Serial Numbers and Prefixes.

The future for this limited commemorative issue? Very good, esp. as a form of 'investment holding' as it will definitely outperform any so-called 'conservative' returns of 3 to 5%.

And for the immediate term, there shouldn't be any reason why this set of notes can't hit the RM800 mark, as the year 2007's Merdeka Folder issue featuring a single RM50 that was sold for RM60 is currently selling at RM500 each.

If the Merdeka Folder note can sell for RM500 each, surely this uniquely assembled Set Of 6 notes should be higher and very, very much higher in the long term and perhaps, it might astound you all when it breaches the RM1,000 mark one day!

Ya, you morons would then be yapping that you should have bought more or that you shouldn't have sold them last time, 2 very stale & often used statements which by now should long be buried in them dung heap.

After all, interests do come internationally from Temasek, China & Hong Kong, besides strong local interest.

And likewise, one doesn't need to be a Pakar Numis Malaysia to know that the printing of the RM100 ZE Replacements has run its course.

In fact, this ZE series is very seldom seen and there is no so-called deluge of this issue being offered for sale online or offline.

Will this ZE banknotes repeat the performance of its cousin, the RM100 ZB Replacements?

Banknotes with the Solid Numbers of 8888888 are quite comon for the current banknote series but yet, their open market prices come with a thumping hefty premium and with banknotes issued more than 20 years ago that bear such so-called desirable and prosperous solid numbers, surely, the premium is very, very much higher or rather sky high, but I suppose, it's worth all the dough as it's a case of "I have it & You don't!"

***A stack of crisp & unusually fresh Uncirculated banknotes in the form of the 1986 $10 notes printed by BA Banknote & bearing the First Prefix of VM.

Not surprising at the rather high price this banknote commands versus similar ones printed by Thomas De La Rue as this one apparently only comes with 5 Prefixes compared to the rest which were printed in huge quantities.

No wonder this issue is selling at at least RM60 per piece in the current open market.

How some folks have managed to keep these 25 year-old notes in such mint & pristine condition is something is be amazed at & also to gloat at....

2003 Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA) Proof Set Of 3

***And from under the staircase of a very low-profile collector, here is the nothing-to-shout-about Set of 3 Proof Coins in a box issued in 2003 for the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Show.

These proof coins come in a rather odd-shaped plastic-like box, and of course, with the tiny 8.6gm pure gold coin as its centre piece.

The gold coin should be worth around RM1,500 today, based on its weight vis-a-vis the current spot gold price & as such, this Set of 3 should be worth around RM2,000 to RM2,400, as after all, only the gold coin has value as the other 2 pieces in the form of silver & copper-nickel are mere fillers.

My collector friend is trying to sell this set to me at a ridiculous price of RM3,500, but I am not biting.

Definitely, something that's not worth gloating about. The best thing to gloat about is having a low-numbered Replacement banknote & that's really my cup of tea, I suppose.

Apparently, only 250 boxes were issued for this set by the, then, Royal Mint Of Malaysia, and by the way, where have they all gone now as this set is now rarely seen?

Don't tell us that the delegates of the conference had taken them back to the countries where they came from!

***And from the monetary vault of low-profile Datuk Raymond Chang, here comes the common Malaysian 10 Sen coin dated 1983 but in golden-toned lustrous Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

Vis-a-vis the 1971 10 Sen coin issue, the 1983 one seems to belong to the usual big mintage group but trying to look for a nicely struck one in BU condition is not easy, esp. if it carries a golden lustrous patina. Most, if not all of the 1971 10 Sen coins are in BU condition; try looking for a few in VF condition and see, if you can get any.
The motto among many Pakar Numis' today seems to be to accumulate as many as possible the nice BU Parliament Series. It's not that these Pakar Numis' want to ignore the Hibiscus series but how many of these Hibiscus coins are actually in BU condition, tell me?

Malaya & British Borneo 1961 $10 Buffalo Note Choice Uncirculated

***What a gorgeous note in Choice Uncirculated condition in the form of this ever-popular & very popularly known Buffalo Note from British Malaya!

Definitely a very fresh looking buffalo rather than the overworked tired-looking ones that one sees so often being offered for sale online.

This banknote actually is the consecutive piece to another one already featured over here a month or two ago.

And this gorgeous note is now on the way to the US so that PMG can do its usual good job by independently and professionally grading this note, & I am very cocksure that this note will come back graded at least with PMG 66 EPQ, no matter how strict PMG grading criteria will be as this is a banknote a few notches up against many others in terms of freshness, sharpness of the corners & the exceptional paper quality..........

Malaysia 2011 $1 ZAC Replacement Banknotes Uncirculated

***This is a consecutive pair of the RM1 ZAC Replacement banknotes which I believe were issued this year and which I have managed to buy during my recent trip down south to Singapore, while attending the recent Singapore's Monetarium auction.

As I don't have a piece of this 'rare' Replacement issue I thought acquiring them would be a good idea as after all, I was an underbidder through & through at the Monetarium Auction as my pockets weren't enough deep enough vis-a-vis the big players present there.

Yes, I felt like a squeezed anchovy all the way through.

Thus, getting these 2 notes back home was some sort like the 4D's Consolation prize, I suppose.

But the freaking question running through the back of my mind for these past several nights is will there be a ZAD Replacement, or better still, why not, a ZAE?! The more, the merrier, I suppose!

Malaysia 1981 50 Cents Coin Brilliant Uncirculated

***Never have I seen a 50 Sen coin from the Parliamant Series as lustrous and as beautifully struck as this one from the year of 1981.

This is definitely what all Pakar Numis' will label as a Choice BU type of coin, so lustrous, very few or hardly any bagmarks & so well & sharply struck, despite the fast passage of 30 years.

And of course, that can't be said for the current Hibiscus Series as coins from this series seem to be poorly struck, perhaps due to worn-out dies or even lousy planchets & they seem 'invaded' with lots of bagmarks.

As such, there is a feeling that coins from the Hibiscus Series that exhibit the traits of BU condition would command very high prices in the numis market in the not too distant future.

Actually, that's not what I have opined. That's the expresed opinion of a few Pakar Numis' during our recent alfresco tea-tarik session. And this speculation should hold water as after all they came from the mouths of an esteemed group of numis folks.

Malaysia 1986 $20 Banknotes Last Prefix TH Uncirculated

***As most collectors are aware, the $20 deno will be making a comeback next year & apparently, this time, it will be in yellow color, compared to the previous brown color.
The $20 banknotes signed by Jaffar Hussein have always been underpriced & 2 years ago was selling for just around RM40 a piece in UNC condition, perhaps, due to slavish following of the numismatic catalogues which for one reason or another assigned a low reference price to this issue even though the total quantity printed for this issue was less than half that of its predecessor of the same denomination.
But, since this year, this $20 banknote has been on the uptrend and that too, depends on its prefixes.
Its TH prefix commands the highest price as only less than 2 million pieces were printed & those in Choice UNC mostly, as you may notice, bear the Serial NOs starting with TH 149xxxx.
Featured today is the seldom yet seen in Choice UNC condition with the serial numbers that start with TH05xxxxx.
Many numis Smart Alecs are predicting that this TH prefixed banknote will hit way above the RM300 mark by next year.
They should be correct with their guess or rather prediction I suppose, as after all, these are the Smart Alecs who should be in-the-know compared to a layman like, who else, but yours truly.
