Aside from these first two teams that we mentioned though, we really don’t see any of the favorites that are worth backing. That being said, we are going to go a bit off the board right now and take teams that might surprise you. Sure, they are playing in a stacked division that includes Oklahoma City, but in a short playoff series, they have the outstanding edge of one of the best home court advantages in the game. 2012 Presidential Election Odds Posted Below

Super Tuesday 2012 is now in the past, and it is starting to become clear what the 2012 presidential election is going to look like. Check out some of the presidential election odds that you can find at the bottom of this post.

Of course, the man of the hour is going to be Barack Obama. The sitting president probably had to figure that he was going to be a shoe-in for reelection this year, but things definitely aren’t all that cut and dry. The Democrats lost control of Congress two years ago, as John Boehner took over as the majority leader of this unit. It’s a bad sign going forward, but as always, the man that is currently sitting in the White House is also the one that is favored on the 2012 presidential election odds.

Obama and the Democrats are -175 at Bovada.lv. Though that is a comfortable margin to be favored by on any sports odds, it certainly isn’t comfortable enough to think that reelection is a guarantee.

The big problems for the Obama 2012 campaign is that he really wasn’t able to do a heck of a lot of what he promised during these last four years. The “Obamacare” package, which was basically the basis for his campaign in 2008 isn’t going to go into action for another two years, and it is a plan with a lot of pork in it that is largely disliked by the majority of Americans.

The Republican nomination isn’t set in stone yet, but Mitt Romney has basically won it already. He is 1/20 on the 2012 US presidential election odds to win the Republican nomination, and there is just very little doubt at this point after Super Tuesday that he is going to be the man to represent his party.

Romney has had an interesting political career, which includes spending four years as the governor of Massachusetts, a state that is normally dominated by the Democrats. He was in the GOP caucuses four years ago, competing with John McCain and some others. Romney has some issues with some statements that he has made about his tax bracket, and he also has some issues with the fact that he is Mormon, a faith that normally is looked upon with disdain in parts of the country.

However, it is clear that Romney is the best that the Republicans have this year, and though he probably isn’t the greatest choice in the world for the GOP nomination, this is a better year for him to have a shot at getting the job done. If for no other reason, there is a bit of a sentiment out there that it is time for America to change, and that will be the best selling point for Romney to win the presidency.

We are still several months away from the start of the 2012 college football schedule, but here at Bankroll Sports, we never stop looking at some of the best NCAA football odds on the internet. Take a first look at the 2012 Heisman Trophy odds along with some of our early Heisman Trophy picks and predictions for the upcoming season.

With so many of the other Heisman Trophy candidates declaring for the NFL Draft, it is no surprise that the man that is the favorite to win the 2012 Heisman Trophy is a man that elected to pass on the NFL for one more year at the collegiate level. USC Trojans QB Matt Barkley (Odds To Win The Heisman Trophy: 3.85 to 1 at JustBet Sportsbook) is clearly going to be one of the top quarterbacks in the nation this year. In fact, the whole Southern Cal team is going to be great this year, especially with WR Robert Woods leading a talented set of receivers this year. The Pac-12 has the potential to be not all that fantastic with teams like the Oregon Ducks and Stanford Cardinal getting ripped apart by players leaving for the NFL, and the Trojans are clearly playing in the worst half of their conference. This all bodes well for the Trojans and for Barkley, who has to be considered the top returning quarterback this year.

As we found out last year though, the man that is the bona fide favorite isn’t always the one that ends up winning the award. The Michigan Wolverines had a heck of a year in 2011 under the direction of new Head Coach Brady Hoke. If Big Blue can contend for the Big Ten title again this season, the man that could be on a lot of Heisman Trophy ballots is QB Denard Robinson (Current Heisman Trophy Odds: 6.50 to 1 at JustBet Sportsbook). Robinson has over 2,000 passing yards and over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons calling the shots in Ann Arbor, and he is going to surely be in a position to put up these types of numbers once again. The Wolverines are going in the right direction, and Robinson is a big part of the reason for that. This is a man that has flirted with the Heisman in the past, but right now, Robinson is more or less this year’s version of last year’s Heisman winner, Baylor Bears’ QB Robert Griffin III.

Of the four Heisman Trophy finalists on the offensive side of the ball from last year, the only one of the bunch that is coming back to school this year is Wisconsin Badgers RB Montee Ball (Heisman Trophy Betting Lines: 5 to 1 at JustBet Sportsbook). We just can’t see how Ball is going to put up numbers that were better than what he had last year when he rushed for 1,759 yards and accounted for a total of 39 TDs. Parlay all of that with the fact that the Badgers won the Big Ten and played in the Rose Bowl this year, and we become very confused as to what more Ball needs to do to win the Heisman Trophy. Of course, the stats that Griffin put up last year were out of this world, but Ball wasn’t even really all that close to winning the award. Ball isn’t a flashy back, as he is more or less just that vintage “between the tackles” back, and though he is going to put up the numbers once again assuming that he stays healthy, the issue is that he just doesn’t have the flare of some of the other top players in the land.

There are a few players with some long odds that we are willing to take a stab at this year. We’ll start with the Clemson Tigers’ WR Sammy Watkins (Current Heisman Trophy Odds: 22 to 1 at BetOnline Sportsbook). Though QB Tajh Boyd is going to get a lot of the accolades for the Tigers, Watkins is clearly the player that made the difference to this team this year. Watkins does everything for Clemson, carrying the ball as a receiver, catching the ball, returning kicks, and perhaps selling popcorn on the side as well. Remember that he is only a sophomore this year. This is the year in which QB Tim Tebow won the Heisman, and it is also the year in which RB Mark Ingram won it as well. Watkins is going to be the man that has to make the Tigers the top team in the ACC once again, and if that happens, Watkins could be a Heisman contender.

We’re also going to look at the Georgia Bulldogs’ QB Aaron Murray (Current 2012 Heisman Trophy Lines: 15 to 1 at BetOnline Sportsbook). The top teams in the SEC are the ones that always have Heisman Trophy finalists. The Alabama Crimson Tide are clearly going to have some big time players, as will the LSU Tigers, but both teams are lacking stars offensively. Sure, Tyrann Mathieu was a finalist last year, but there are just so few defensive players that have the ability to actually win the award. Instead, Murray seems to be the up and coming star in this conference. He had one of the best years for a UGA quarterback in school history last year, and he was only a sophomore. The Dawgs took some major steps in the right direction this year, winning 10 straight games before losing in the SEC Championship Game. If they can keep going the right way and challenge again for the SEC crown, Murray could have a shot at posting a Heisman Trophy campaign.

The countdown is on to three of the greatest words of the Spring: “Pitchers and Catchers!” That means that it is time to start to make our World Series picks for the upcoming year, and we are set to analyze some of the best teams in the league and how they are going to look this season.

The favorites to win the World Series this year for the second straight season are the Philadelphia Phillies (2012 Favorites On The Odds To Win The World Series – 4.85 to 1 at SportBet Sportsbook). They have had a heck of an offseason, adding Jonathan Papelbon to solidify the back end of a bullpen that has historically been shoddy. The prognosis for Ryan Howard’s Achilles tendon injury are good at this point, and he might not miss all that much of the season. Sure, there are some other issues, but this starting pitching rotation is still remarkable even though Roy Oswalt is no longer a part of it. The NL East is going to be tough this year, as the Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves are both going to be solid teams as well. However, this team is clearly the class of the division and the National League as a whole, and once the team gets into the playoffs, it will once again be a remarkable choice to win it all.

The team that has jumped to the front of the class in the American League is the Detroit Tigers (2012 World Series Odds – 6 to 1 at BetOnline Sportsbook). The Tigers started off this offseason in terrible shape, losing Victor Martinez for the season to an ACL injury. However, give Detroit some credit. It went out and stole Prince Fielder in free agency from some of the other teams that might have been a heck of a lot more conducive to give him the big bucks. Now, having Miguel Cabrera and Fielder in the same lineup is tremendous, and a pitching staff anchored by Justin Verlander is going to be great as well. To make matters even better, the rest of the AL Central really has gone backwards this year, and unless the likes of the Minnesota Twins end up with a huge turnaround this season, there shouldn’t be a team that is going to challenge the Tigers this year.

The Texas Rangers have won the AL West for the last two seasons, but after losing out on all of the big time free agents this year, they clearly aren’t the team to watch in their own division. Albert Pujols has joined the Anaheim lineup, and CJ Wilson has been added to the pitching staff as well. The bullpen has the potential to be suspect, but all of a sudden, this is a team that looks awfully formidable. The Angels have done everything right over the course of the last few seasons, and they have all of the pieces in place to get back to the top of the AL West once again. Don’t be shocked if they end up being one of the top teams in the league this year.

Alex Rodriguez was hurt for a good chunk of the year. The pitching staff at times was in shambles. The additions in the bullpen just never really panned out for the most part. And yet, the team still won the AL East and was in the playoffs. This year though, New York has a team that is a lot more conducive to succeed in the postseason. Trading for Michael Pineda was genius, not just for now, but for the future as well. He will team with Ivan Nova and Phil Hughes in this rotation for the future, and this trio will only further complement CC Sabathia. Signing Hiroki Kuroda was a smart move as well, and there are still others like AJ Burnett and Freddy Garcia that can help out as well. The Big Apple definitely could be back on top of the baseball world this year.

Best Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl 47 Odds: 14.50 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: Baltimore was stopped one step short of the Super Bowl this year, but we still aren’t so sure that it didn’t have the best team in the league. Don’t be shocked if the Ravens are once again one of the last teams standing again in 2012-13.

Best Buffalo Bills Superbowl 47 Odds: 66 to 1 at Bet Online Sportsbook: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick tapered out this past season after getting a huge contract. We’re not sure whether the bigger waste of money is on Fitzpatrick or RB CJ Spiller, who looks like he is never going to make it as an NFL back. This is a team with no chance next year.

Best Carolina Panthers 2013 Super Bowl Lines: 50 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: QB Cam Newton turned out to be one of the best statistical rookie quarterbacks in the history of the league this year. He could be a star in the making for a team that is clearly headed in the right direction.

Best Chicago Bears 2013 Superbowl Lines: 33 to 1 at Bet Online Sportsbook: Things fell apart for the Bears this past year once QB Jay Cutler was knocked out for the season, and they are going to be hard-pressed to do much better this season with the Lions and Packers dominating the NFC North.

Best Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl 47 Lines: 40 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The Bengals were the shocking team in the playoffs this year, but they were clearly the worst of the 16 teams in the field and probably have no business challenging for the Super Bowl next year.

Best Cleveland Browns Superbowl 47 Lines: 100 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The poor Browns are up against it, knowing that they have to contend with Cincy, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh every single season. They’re just not up to that type of level as of yet.

Best Dallas Cowboys 2013 Superbowl Odds: 20 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: If Head Coach Jason Garrett doesn’t get the Cowboys in the playoffs next year, he is clearly going to be on his way out the door, though we aren’t so sure that they really have the goods to be a bona fide Super Bowl contender as of yet.

Best Denver Broncos Super Bowl 47 Odds: 50 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: Eventually, the league is going to figure out that QB Tim Tebow isn’t all that great. When it happens, the Broncos might be the worst team in football, though at least they are have some hope because they are playing in the worst division in football as well.

Best Detroit Lions Superbowl 47 Odds: 20 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: The Lions took some major steps in the right direction this year, and their offense is as good as any in the league. The defense needs some improving though, and that’s what Head Coach Jim Schwartz has to work on this year to make Detroit a serious Super Bowl contender.

Best Green Bay Packers 2013 Super Bowl Lines: 6.25 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: It shouldn’t be surprising that the Packers are the Super Bowl favorites once again, especially since they were the favorites from the day that the season started until the day they were knocked out of the playoffs this past season.

Best Houston Texans 2013 Superbowl Lines: 13 to 1 at Bet Online Sportsbook: The Texans were clearly one of the best teams in the league last year, and we can only imagine what could have been if they hadn’t lost both QBs Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart in a span of about 30 offensive snaps this year.

Best Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl 47 Lines: 50 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The question that you have to ask yourself before betting on the Colts is whether you truly believe that they are good enough to win the Super Bowl if QB Peyton Manning is fully healthy. We just don’t think so at this point, as that team had just a slew of holes in it this past season.

Best Jacksonville Jaguars Superbowl 47 Lines: 100 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The Jags are going nowhere quickly, and they are probably going to be the worst team in the league for some time in the post-Jack Del Rio era.

Best Kansas City Chiefs 2013 Super Bowl Odds: 50 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: Head Coach Romeo Crennel was the perfect choice for the KC job opening, and he is going to likely make this team a contender relatively quickly after a failed stint with the Browns in his last head coaching job.

Best Miami Dolphins Super Bowl 47 Odds: 35 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: If the Dolphins could just find a quarterback, they might become contenders in the AFC East in a hurry. You paying attention Peyton Manning?

Best Minnesota Vikings Superbowl 47 Odds: 75 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The Vikes are pretty much just RB Adrian Peterson and a bunch of guys that aren’t that good. They have to make some big time moves to even think about sniffing .500 next year.

Best New England Patriots 2013 Super Bowl Lines: 7.25 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: Here’s the big time issue that we have with the Pats: What the heck are they going to do next year if they have to play teams that finished the year above .500, considering the fact that they only beat one team like that this year, and that was in the AFC Championship Game in a game that could have (and probably should have) been lost against Baltimore?

Best New Orleans Saints 2013 Superbowl Lines: 8.25 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: QB Drew Brees is probably going to throw for over 5,000 yards again next year if he stays healthy, but if the defense can’t at least get something going to slow down some teams, especially on the road, the Saints are always going to come close, but they aren’t going to win the whole thing.

Best New York Giants Super Bowl 47 Lines: 15 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The defending champs are going to have their work cut out for them now that they have a bulls-eye on their backs. Still, QB Eli Manning has proven that he is elite, and this pass rush is absolutely ferocious.

Best New York Jets Superbowl 47 Lines: 22.50 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: We aren’t ready to count out the Jets for next season, especially knowing that QB Peyton Manning could be on his way to the Big Apple, but we know if this locker room is anywhere near as poison as reports have it, Head Coach Rex Ryan could be in for some big problems.

Best Oakland Raiders 2013 Superbowl Odds: 50 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook: The Raiders have a lot of potential, but what they don’t have this year are any draft picks. A decision will have to be made about QBs Jason Campbell and Carson Palmer very soon, though.

Best Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl 47 Odds: 13 to 1 at Sport Bet Sportsbook: The “Dream Team” did play well down the stretch last year, and that’s what saved Head Coach Andy Reid. It really might be Super Bowl or bust this year for the Eagles, though.

2012 Super Bowl Volkswagon Commercial

We were huge fans of the Volkswagon 2012 Super Bowl commercial, as we really thought that the VW dog was one of the highlights of an otherwise sometimes gloomy set of commercials.

Get used to seeing the Coca-Cola bears on the list of the 10 best Super Bowl ads. Coke’s use of these bears was just great, as we can all relate to this one, who believed in all sorts of superstitions when watching his team. C’mon… admit it. You know that you’ve been there, too.

LMFAO was a dud in our eyes in the Super Bowl halftime show, but we were a fan of their commercial seen early in the game. It wasn’t the best commercial of the bunch, but M&M definitely got its point across with a Super Bowl commercial that had to leave you chuckling like it did for us.

We were a bit off guard over the course of this whole commercial until the very end, as we weren’t really all that sure what a hot Italian chick was advertising. Props to Fiat for its Super Bowl ad, though we tend to think that few are going to remember what the ad was about, and instead will be left thinking about the hot girl in the dress.

2012 Coke “The Catch” Super Bowl Advertisement

Mario Manningham and David Tyree are both known for their remarkable catches that helped the Giants win their last two Super Bowls, but those two have absolutely nothing on the Coke bear. Check out this catch over the course of a full commercial, though we aren’t so sure that the best part of all of this wasn’t the wreckage that he left behind him while making the snare.

Sorry to the rest of the companies that tried their best to sell sex during their Super Bowl ads. Once again, GoDaddy.com is the head of the class. Danica Patrick once again was used as the star of the show, but GoDaddy.com brought in any and every sexy woman that they could find for this one, and in the end, it was clearly our top choice for the best Super Bowl ad in 2012.

The New York Giants just won the Super Bowl for the second time under QB Eli Manning. But do the Giants 2013 Super Bowl odds justify backing them again? Check out the answer to the question: Will the Giants repeat as Super Bowl champions?

2012 New York Giants Offense
The biggest thing that the G-Men have going for them this coming season is that Manning has clearly jumped into that elite status of NFL quarterbacks. He has probably surpassed his brother, and really with the exception of perhaps Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees, there probably isn’t another quarterback that you would put on the list ahead of the younger Manning. He threw for 4,933 yards this year with 29 TDs against 16 INTs. Sure, the pick total was high, but Manning made up for it by having a knack for winning games at the end when all looked lost.

The emergence of WR Victor Cruz was key this year. That gave Manning a solid set of receivers to throw the pigskin to. He had 1,536 yards, while WR Hakeem Nicks had 1,192 yards, and WR Mario Manningham had 523 yards. TE Jake Ballard suffered a knee injury during the Super Bowl, but assuming that he is okay, he is going to one of the sneakier tight ends in the league next year. Ballard averaged 15.9 yards per catch and had 604 yards.

RBs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs were both hurt for pieces of the season, and the two only ended up rushing for a total of 1,230 yards with 16 scores. Both averaged under 4.0 yards per carry, and that shows that the offensive line is clearly going to need some work going forward.

2012 New York Giants Defense
Defensively, it is all about the pass rush. The play of rookie DB Prince Amukamara improved as the season went on, but he will look like a great starter next year as long as the trio of DEs, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and Jason Pierre-Paul continue to be dominating. The questions that are to be asked of this defense, which ranked No. 27 in the league at 376.4 yards per game and No. 25 in scoring at 25.0 points per game in the regular season, are going to be at linebacker, where the team just isn’t all that great.

2012 New York Giants Contracts & Free Agents
Free agency shouldn’t be all that bad on the Giants this year. Ballard is a free agent, as is Manningham, and they will probably be the top priorities on offense to resign. OLs Stacy Andrews and Kareem McKenzie are both free agents to be. On the other side of the ball, DB Aaron Ross is sure to be in for a big payday from someone, while S Deon Grant is free as well. LB Chase Blackburn is likely in line for a new contract, and the team is also going to have to address the situation with at punter and backup quarterback if QB David Carr and P Steve Weatherford are not resigned.

2012 New York Giants Schedule
The schedule next year for the Giants is going to be brutal. The team is obviously going to have to play a first place schedule, meaning the Green Bay Packers will once again be on the slate. The other non-divisional home games are against the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The non-divisional road games are against the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Raven, and Cincinnati Bengals. Needless to say, it is going to be a heck of a lot different now that the Giants have to play against the NFC South instead of the NFC West, and those games against the teams in the AFC North are certainly not going to be easy.

The Giants Super Bowl odds are 15 to 1 at Bovada.lv, making them the eighth favorite. They were never really the favorites at any point over the course of this season either, especially with the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles in the same division with them. In the end, this is a brutal schedule for New York to have to play, especially if it isn’t going to win games like the two against the Washington Redskins that it was defeated in this past year. We aren’t even all that sure that the Giants are going to make the playoffs next year, and at this point, we wouldn’t want to back a team at these types of 2013 Super Bowl odds, especially when the team was brutally inconsistent all season long.

Super Bowl 46 is only a matter of a few hours behind us, but here at Bankroll Sports, we are already taking the time to look at the 2012-13 Super Bowl odds, as there is sure to be some tremendous value on the board that we can take advantage of.

Last year what we saw was that the Green Bay Packers (Odds to Win 2012 Superbowl: 6.25 to 1 @ Sport Bet Sportsbook) were the choice of the oddsmakers until they were knocked out of the playoffs. For the most part, the Packers were stuck in the 2 to 1 and 3 to 1 range for the year, so these Super Bowl odds are as good as we are probably going to get. QB Aaron Rodgers is going to have all of his weapons back again this coming season, and that means that he could be well on his way to yet another MVP award. Defensive Coordinator Dom Capers is going to be back as well, and he is sure to improve this unit, which was one of the worst defenses in the league. This was a team that went 15-1 this season with a team that was terrible on defense and with running the football. Can you imagine just how good the Packers would be if they were even just average in those categories?

The team that we aren’t all that excited about next year is the team that lost the Super Bowl this season, the New England Patriots (2012-13 Super Bowl Odds: 7.25 to 1 @ Sport Bet Sportsbook). QB Tom Brady is remarkable, but what we saw all season long was that he was struggling against the good teams that he played against. Remember that Brady was average at best for the most part in the playoffs, and in the end, the team went 1-3 SU an 0-4 ATS against teams that finished the year above .500. There is no way that the 2012-13 NFL schedule is going to be anywhere near as easy as it was this year, and we aren’t so sure that New England should really even be considered as that much of a favorite in the AFC East, let alone being the second choice on the board and the top choice in the AFC to win the Super Bowl.

The next team in the pecking order had a terrible postseason as well. The New Orleans Saints (2012 Super Bowl Betting Lines: 8.50 to 1 @ Bovada Sportsbook) are clearly going to be a fantastic team once again this coming year. QB Drew Brees broke the record for most passing yards in a season, and assuming that he is able to get his contract issues sorted out to keep him in the Crescent City, we know that this team is going to be fantastic. TE Jimmy Graham and RB Darren Sproles aren’t going anywhere, and they are two of the most dynamic players at their respective positions in the league. The defense was shoddy this year, and the ground game was hit and miss, but there are definitely some pieces of the puzzle here to work with. Head Coach Sean Peyton knows that there has to be some improvement and consistency defensively, and if that happens in the offseason, this will be a team that is tremendous to watch next season.

And then of course, there are the Houston Texans (Odds to Win 2012 Superbowl: 13 to 1 @ BetOnline Sportsbook), who were really the surprising team of this season. The rest of the AFC South is still in shambles, and there really isn’t much of a way that we see this team not winning the division. QB Matt Schaub should be healthy once again next year, which would make a huge difference from the team that had to use QB TJ Yates, a rookie, fifth round draft pick and third string quarterback that had suited in just one game and had taken zero snaps until he had to be called into duty late in the season. DE Mario Williams is a free agent to be, and RB Arian Foster might be in a contract dispute, but if GM Rick Smith gets this all worked out, this is a frightening team. Legitimately, the rest of the important pieces to the puzzle are coming back next year. This was a great team in spite of the fact that Williams missed three quarters of the season, WR Andre Johnson misssed well over half the season, and Foster missed essentially four games at the start of the year as well. Houston is going to be a force to be reckoned with next year.

We would be remiss if we didn’t at least make mention of the defending Super Bowl champions, though. The New York Giants (Giants Super Bowl Odds To Repeat: 15 to 1 @ Bovada Sportsbook) are going to have their work cut out for them once again just to get into the playoffs, let alone to win the Super Bowl again. What we have seen is that the G-Men are certainly in great hands with QB Eli Manning. He is truly an elite passer, and at this point, he is probably on the verge of the Hall of Fame even if he never takes another snap. His receivers should all be back once again, and this fantastic pass rush will once again end up being great. Still, the NFC East is incredibly tough, and there is no doubt that we could see Big Blue finishing in third place in this division next year and not making the playoffs. If the Giants get in though, they are clearly going to be a team to watch out for, just as they have proven with two championships in the last four years.

After weeding through 30 other teams, there are just two that remain for the right to battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy. The New England Patriots will take on the New York Giants in the biggest game of the year, and here at Bankroll Sports, we have all of the essential information for Super Bowl 46, including the date, time, and television station for the Superbowl.

Football fan in the Northeast really couldn’t have asked for anything more, as teams from the two biggest markets in the area are going to square off against one another in what has become a true rivalry of teams across conferences. Anyone who was around four years ago remembers just how epic the Super Bowl was between the Giants and the Patriots, as they fought for the full 60 minutes tooth and nail before WR David Tyree made the catch that might go down in the history of the game as the best football play ever, and WR Plaxico Burress caught the touchdown pass that led to one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history as well. It was the first championship and the true coming out party for QB Eli Manning, who is now four years older and wiser. Now, he is considered one of the truly elite quarterbacks in the game, standing right beside the man that he is going to face once again in this title game, QB Tom Brady.

There really is no reason that you wouldn’t want to watch this game. Obviously, both of these teams have tremendous offenses that chuck the pigskin all over the field. Brady and Manning threw for over 10,000 yards between them this year, making them the first tandem of quarterbacks to throw for over 10,000 yards in a Super Bowl matchup. WR Victor Cruz came out of nowhere to be one of the top receivers in the league this season, while both WR Hakeem Nicks and WR Mario Manningham have the ability to do some real damage as well. When Brady played in the Super Bowl four years ago, he and WR Randy Moss were breaking a ton of passing and receiving records. Now, it is Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski that are rewriting the record books. Gronkowski had one of the best seasons that a tight end ever had in the NFL, and he is flanked by another tight end that would be a tremendous stud on virtually any other roster in the game, TE Aaron Hernandez. WR Wes Welker led the league in receptions once again this season, and he is always the dependable target, while WR Deion Branch was more or less the forgotten man in the offense. Remember, of all of the wide receivers in this game, it is Branch that is the only one to already have a Super Bowl MVP award to his credit.

The teams both were flawed this year as well, but both have figured out how to work past their flaws. The New England defense, which ranked second to last in the league this season, has come up with two sturdy games in a row, and the team’s secondary is finding ways to do just enough thanks to an improved pass rush. The Giants had the worst rushing attack in the NFL this year, but all of a sudden, RBs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs are taking on the form that they used to have when they combined to make one of the most vaunted ground games in the league. A much maligned secondary has come up with some big games, including shutting down QB Matt Ryan, frustrating QB Aaron Rodgers, who might be the league’s MVP this year, and halting the momentum built by QB Alex Smith this season.

Needless to say, this Super Bowl has the potential to be remarkable, and it is surely going to be a game that you don’t want to miss. Be sure to tune into Super Bowl 46 between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots at 6:30 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, February 5th on NBC
