An exclusive inside look with your free CNN account

Exploring the moments that changed the game.

Sports don’t just reflect history, they help make it. CNN’s new Original Series Decades in Sports revisits the athletes, rivalries and unforgettable moments that shaped American culture, from the thrill of victory to the agony of defeat. In our Q&A, CNN Anchor and Correspondent, and Atlanta native, Omar Jimenez reflects on Hank Aaron, the iconic baseball player featured in the series premiere. Step up to the plate to read his thoughts on Aaron’s enduring legacy, the magic of No. 44 and his favorite Atlanta Brave’s memory.

Get started

Hank Aaron and his home-run record is covered in the first episode. You’re from Atlanta...what does Hank Aaron’s legacy mean to you, the city and sports as a whole?

Hank Aaron is the most iconic Atlanta Brave. And for someone like me who grew up in the Atlanta area, I grew up playing baseball. He is the reason I wore the number 44, and I wasn't alone. Everybody was running around with the number 44. Hank Aaron's home run record is just iconic, 755. You can never take that away from someone like him. But I also thought about the number 715 when he officially passed Babe Ruth to become, at the time, the home run leader. This was a moment that showed that someone like Hank Aaron belongs in the upper echelons of baseball and couldn't be denied. No amount of societal pressure or racism could take that away, and that's part of why this record sort of transcends sports.

Every generation has its baseball icons. Why does Hank Aaron remain the standard?

What he represented to the city of Atlanta, he was this icon, this larger-than-life figure, and he helped put the city on the map, especially in terms of baseball coming from the city of Milwaukee as well. And then for the sport as a whole, you look at the time period when he was playing, it was not easy to be Black in America, even less so to be a public Black figure breaking records in what was largely a white game at the time. And so, for someone like Hank Aaron in the sport, he became the symbol of someone who could overcome so much adversity outside of the game of baseball to stand on that mountaintop and do something that no one had ever done in Major League Baseball at the time, and doing so ahead of icons like Babe Ruth.

Tell us about your most memorable Braves moments.

The Braves. Some high highs, some low lows, but honestly, they've been an incredible franchise to follow and be a fan of. I mean, you just look at the 90s, I think widely considered the best team in baseball. You go to the World Series five times, you only win one of them, but still a win is a win. Now, a specific memory that I always think about is a regular season game. I want to say it was like 2010 or so and my friends and I left school early to go to this game. It was a daytime game, and the Braves were getting killed. They were just getting destroyed. So, it was the 9th inning, they were down by, I want to say like 6 runs or so, and we were going to leave, but all of a sudden, we got 1 run back. OK, all right. Sounds good. We're clawing it back. I might as well stay. We're already here. And little by little, we get to this moment where a man by the name of Brooks Conrad pinch hits. We don't even really know who this guy is, but the bases are loaded. And it's a grand slam. And the Braves walk off with a grand slam to pull off what I think was the 2nd largest 9th inning comeback in franchise history, and we were there to see it, and I will always remember that as a Braves fan.

A special Q&A with Jake Tapper on Ben Sasse.

An exclusive inside look with your free CNN account

Reflecting on the things that matter most.

At a time when politics can feel consumed by division and the “small” nature of daily fights, Jake Tapper directs this episode of The Whole Story toward something much bigger: mortality, meaning, faith and how we choose to spend the time we have left.

Tonight, Jake sits down with former Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse as he faces terminal cancer and reflects on family, faith and the life he has lived. Tapper says he was especially struck by the way Sasse and his wife, Melissa, are confronting this chapter with both sorrow and hope. Ahead of the broadcast, we asked Tapper what stayed with him most from the conversation and what he hopes we can all learn from Ben's story.

Get started

Why do you think Ben Sasse’s story connects right now beyond politics?

Ben is pushing us all to confront mortality and meaning. He may be best known for politics on a national level, but he is a big believer that there are so many things that are more important in our world than that. At a time when so many of us are grappling with how small our politics has become, he is pushing us to embrace that which is larger.

What struck you most about the way he and his family are facing this?

It’s impossible to talk to Ben and his wife Melissa and not be struck by how confident they are in their faith, how assured they are of what comes next and the meaning behind it. It doesn’t negate the sorrow they feel, but it is remarkable.

In such a divisive political moment, was there a moment that felt especially powerful or hopeful about this conversation?

It’s amazing to me that he is spending so much of his final days talking to all of us about these weightier issues, pushing us all towards a kinder and more loving place.

What do you hope viewers take away from the interview?

I hope people hear his message and think about the fact that he’s right: we are all facing a death sentence. So, how are we spending the time we have left?

I own very sensitive information about your web activities

noreply@blogger.com (john miler) — Sat, 18 Jul 2026 16:09:25 +0000

Greetings! First of all, let me tell you, you are one of a kind! It is hard to impress me because I have seen a lot in my career as a professional hacker but now I am really impressed. I will get straight to the point. Listen to me carefully. Several months ago, I was able to hack your operating system and gain full access to all your devices and accounts including messengers, social media profiles, etc. If you still do not believe me, here is a password to your account on the day when I logged in into it: redazakyy.banks2023 I hope, now you begin to get my message. It goes without saying that I gained access to what you type via keylogger, your internet activity and webcam streaming. All of this was possible due to your frequent visits to adult websites infected with harmful malware. In other words, you were under my microscope for many days like some kind of a little bug. The only difference is that unlike you there is no bug in the world who like to watch pervert porn. Yes, you understand it right: I was able to see everything on your screen and record video and audio streams of your camera and microphone. All of these records are currently securely saved on my storage as well as a backup copy. In addition, I also gained access to your confidential information contained in your emails and chat messages. Probably you are wondering why your antivirus and spyware defender software allowed me to do all of this? I am sorry but it's a very stupid question. All antivirus programs turned into useless shit quite a long time ago. Have you ever heard last years about any "advanced" new technologies in this industry? Exactly. Nowadays, developers do not give a flying fuck about your security. Therefore, hackers like me took advantage of it. The more you know my friend, no need to thank me. Maybe with this fresh knowledge, you will be more serious about your internet security and never take it for granted anymore. With that out of the way, let's cut to the chase. Using your recordings I made a video compilation, which shows on the left side the controversial porn scenes of you happily masturbating to, while on the right side it demonstrates the video you were watching at that moment.. ^.^ There are only 48 hours left since the moment you receive this email until I send this video to all your email and messenger contacts. But there is more, guess what? I can also make public all your emails and chat history. You are sick fuck in love with freaky adult content but you are not mentally retarted so I would like to believe, you do not want to let this happen. Right? Only the most stupid man in the world would be happy if his friends, loved ones and colleagues suddenly knew about something like this. In other words, there is no way back. It cannot be fixed. However, there is a way forward that both of us can benefit from. I am a reasonable guy and have no intention to ruin your life for nothing. I'd better like to gain something instead. Here is your salvation - transfer the Bitcoin equivalent of 1280 USD to my Bitcoin account (you can google the process in case you don't know how to do that). Here is my Bitcoin address: 1LLUWdiZyG9sWkD49SGaUTZGBabATDYiyk Once I am notified of receiving it, I will delete all those videos and disappear from your life for good. As I mentioned, you have only 48 hours to make a transaction after you open this email. Believe me, I am always one step ahead so no way in hell you could fool me. If I discover that you shared this message with others, I will send and publish your videos in no time. P.S. It's in your power to make it nice for both of us.

The emotional business of modern masculinity.

What does it take for men to heal?

David Culver has built his career by getting close to the people at the center of the story he covers. As a Senior National Correspondent, his reporting has taken him from the US-Mexico border to China and across the Asia-Pacific region and, more recently, to Jamaica, where he captured moments of hope amid devastation from Hurricane Melissa—helping viewers understand events as they unfolded.

His latest story takes that same on-the-ground approach into a very different world: man-camp retreats, where men gather in search of healing, connection and transformation, often at a steep price. The result is a portrait that is more complicated than the stereotype — and raises bigger questions about loneliness, identity and whether transformation can last beyond the retreat itself. We asked Culver what drew him there, how the experience challenged his assumptions and what moments still stay with him.

Get started

What drew you to this story now, and why do you think conversations about masculinity feel so charged at this moment?

This one started in a brainstorming session several months back on masculinity, spearheaded by Senior Vice President Leora Kapelus and Chief Content Officer Amanda Wills. Rob Picheta asked: What if we actually went inside these so-called "man camps"? He was able to secure us access. If a story requires full immersion, I'm usually all in.

We knew there were two very different experiences ahead: Sonoma, a five-day retreat where we'd be full participants, men looking inward to find healing, and Nashville, a dating bootcamp teaching men how to approach and pick up women (strictly as observers on that one).

As for why now: there's a lot of talk these days about what's going wrong with men, a loneliness epidemic, a so-called crisis of masculinity, the pull of the manosphere. What we hear less about are the people trying to offer solutions, whether they work or not. That gap is why I think this conversation feels so charged. For a lot of young men, the loudest voices offering answers are coming from the darker corners of the internet. These camps claim to offer something different. Rather than debate these spaces from a distance, we wanted to experience them ourselves.

You visited multiple men's retreats, some shaped or led by women. How did the presence of women affect the dynamics of those spaces and the way the men responded?

PIVOT in Sonoma is Lori Jean Glass's creation, and most of her coaches are women. Rather than resist that, the men leaned in. One of them, Matt, told us: "It's funny, because I've always suspected it would be a woman... that would be the mirror and pull it out (of me)."

Nashville was the flip side. The Attractive Man bootcamp, run by Matt Artisan, brought women in as backup coaches and models, giving the guys the kind of unfiltered feedback most of them had never heard out loud. Watching them try those lessons on the streets of Nashville, I found myself genuinely nervous for them. But even the awkward approaches sparked surprisingly honest conversations.

It's also worth mentioning that women shaped this story behind the scenes as well, from its earliest development through editing, production and legal review. Megan Buckelew edited it, Merriam Mikhail helped us navigate the legalities appropriately and Leora was this project's biggest champion from day one.

Did your reporting leave you convinced they offer real change, or mostly a temporary emotional release, especially given the cost?

It depends on the camp. Nashville promises something narrower: confidence, reps, maybe a number by Saturday night. Some men left with exactly that. Whether it translates into lasting change probably depends on the individual. Sonoma is after something bigger, and I struggle to see any space that can "fix" someone in five days. Lori Jean certainly doesn't promise that on her website. The hardest part starts when the men drive off the property and have to live what they've learned.

The cost is real at both: $5,000 for the week in Sonoma and $3,500 for the long weekend in Nashville, which prices out plenty of men who might need it most. (Lori Jean has recently turned PIVOT into a nonprofit, in part to make it more accessible.) But what we watched in that Sonoma room wasn't a performance. Two of the men were carrying fresh grief, and they were willing to set it down in front of us, strangers, and in front of our camera. What many of them seemed to leave with wasn't certainty; it was willingness, and maybe a little hope. Whether that holds is another question.

Was there a particular person, moment or exercise that stayed with you and best captured what this piece is really about?

"Running the bases." I went in expecting to observe men learning to feel. I didn't plan on becoming one of them. Three days into the Sonoma retreat, during an exercise that walks you back through your own life, from your inner child to your "healthy adult," I was the first to completely break. Tears I couldn't stop. David von Blohn, our talented photojournalist, quietly lowered his camera and gave me some space. I remember feeling almost self-conscious. So many of the men in that room were carrying profound loss, and yet there I was, unable to stop crying. Two of them had just lost the people closest to them. Then the dominoes fell. One man, whose wife had died just four months earlier, swore he "didn't want to do this" as his voice cracked. That's what this piece is really about. I realized that hearing another man's raw, unfiltered truth could be just as healing as speaking your own. Rob also wrote a first-person essay about his own experience inside the retreat, which offers another perspective on what happened there. It's worth a read, read it here.

Why the Salisbury Poisonings matter today.

An exclusive inside look with your free CNN account

The case that shocked the world.

The Salisbury Poisonings: A Spy Next Door tells the extraordinary true story of a botched assassination that unleashed a deadly chemical weapon on the streets of a small English town. With spies on the run and an innocent mother of three dead, the events in Salisbury forced intelligence agencies — and the West — to confront a world in which Moscow might cross sacred lines and sovereign borders to hunt its enemies. Although the Russian government denied it's involvement, peculiar signs began to emerge for people who followed the story from such close range as Mark Urban. Featured in the documentary and author of The Skripal Files, Urban had met the intended victim of the Russian attack, Sergei Skripal, several times in the summer of 2017 while conducting research interviews, months before the attack. Ahead of the premiere, we sat down with him to reflect on the poisoning and the warning it carried.

Subscribe now

In the year prior to the Novichok attack, you had a number of meetings with the intended victim, former Russian intelligence officer, Sergei Skripal. How did that moment change your understanding of the story you were reporting?

News of the poisoning came as a body blow to me because I had met Skripal a few times during the summer of 2017, several months before the attempt on his life. I did some research interviews with him for a book I was planning. I knew that he had lost his wife to cancer and his son to alcoholism, and the knowledge that he and his daughter Yulia were in intensive care, fighting for their lives, made me think that the very survival of his family was at stake. Fortunately, the staff at Salisbury Hospital were able to save them.

How unusual was this attack in the context of modern intelligence gathering and covert operations?

In the Cold War intelligence business, there was a general feeling that assassination of one another’s assets was not acceptable. So, for example, Oleg Gordievsky, one of Britain’s great agents inside the KGB, was smuggled out of Moscow in 1985. Although the Soviet authorities sentenced him to death in absentia and he lived under an assumed name in Britain, he was regarded as quite safe. But under Vladimir Putin things changed. Given his hatred of those who betrayed Russia, old assumptions fell away. In 2007, a former Russian intelligence officer, Alexander Litvinenko, was assassinated in London with a radioactive poison that could only have come from a Russian government lab. This was a warning that should have been heeded more seriously in Skripal’s case. But right up until that fateful day in March 2018, both British intelligence and, it must be said, Skripal himself underestimated the danger.

In a case like the one in Salisbury, how important is responsible journalism to public understanding without compromising security concerns?

Of course, it was important for the case to be covered dispassionately and in detail. After all, as soon as it began, Russian sources started to muddy the waters by spreading all kinds of conspiracy theories. They operated under the principle pioneered by Russian spin doctors that "everything is possible and nothing is true”. It was very important for the Western governments to craft their message in the opposite fashion — sticking to a narrow narrative version of events, only revealing new facts slowly and when they felt it was to their advantage. Actually, both approaches — Russian and British — caused frustration among us journalists at the time, struggling to piece together an accurate narrative. But probably the greatest irony of it, in my view, was that it was the appearance of the two Russian prime suspects on one of their own TV stations, trying to deny everything, that probably did more to convince many Westerners of their guilt than things the British government was saying.

For viewers discovering this story now, why do the Salisbury Poisonings still matter today?

I think this story matters because it was a turning point in our understanding of Putin and the Western relationship with him. It exposed his willingness to use a banned chemical weapon on the streets of our country in order to settle his own scores. After the Litvinenko poisoning, there were still people in our government and business community who were keen to get back to business as usual. But after Skripal, the invasion of Ukraine and the poisoning of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, that’s just not on the agenda.

Hi there! I regret to inform you about some sad news for you. Approximately a month or two ago I have succeeded to gain a total access to all your devices utilized for browsing internet. Moving forward, I have started observing your internet activities on continuous basis. Go ahead and take a look at the sequence of events provided below for your reference: Initially I bought an exclusive access from hackers to a long list of email accounts (in today's world, that is really a common thing, which can arranged via internet). Evidently, it wasn't hard for me to proceed with logging in your email account (redazakyy.banks2023@blogger.com). Within the same week, I moved on with installing a Trojan virus in Operating Systems for all devices that you use to login to email. Frankly speaking, it wasn't a challenging task for me at all (since you were kind enough to click some of the links in your inbox emails before). Yeah, geniuses are among us. Because of this Trojan I am able to gain access to entire set of controllers in devices (e.g., your video camera, keyboard, microphone and others). As result, I effortlessly downloaded all data, as well as photos, web browsing history and other types of data to my servers. Moreover, I have access to all social networks accounts that you regularly use, including emails, including chat history, messengers, contacts list etc. My unique virus is incessantly refreshing its signatures (due to control by a driver), and hence remains undetected by any type of antiviruses. Hence, I guess by now you can already see the reason why I always remained undetected until this very letter... During the process of compilation of all the materials associated with you, I also noticed that you are a huge supporter and regular user of websites hosting nasty adult content. Turns out to be, you really love visiting porn websites, as well as watching exciting videos and enduring unforgettable pleasures. As a matter of fact, I was not able to withstand the temptation, but to record certain nasty solo action with you in main role, and later produced a few videos exposing your masturbation and cumming scenes. If until now you don't believe me, all I need is one-two mouse clicks to make all those videos with everyone you know, including your friends, colleagues, relatives and others. Moreover, I am able to upload all that video content online for everyone to see. I sincerely think, you certainly would not wish such incidents to take place, in view of the lustful things demonstrated in your commonly watched videos, (you absolutely know what I mean by that) it will cause a huge adversity for you. There is still a solution to this matter, and here is what you need to do: You make a transaction of $1190 USD to my account (an equivalent in bitcoins, which recorded depending on the exchange rate at the date of funds transfer), hence upon receiving the transfer, I will immediately get rid of all those lustful videos without delay. After that we can make it look like there was nothing happening beforehand. Additionally, I can confirm that all the Trojan software is going to be disabled and erased from all devices that you use. You have nothing to worry about, because I keep my word at all times. That is indeed a beneficial bargain that comes with a relatively reduced price, taking into consideration that your profile and traffic were under close monitoring during a long time frame. If you are still unclear regarding how to buy and perform transactions with bitcoins - everything is available online. Below is my bitcoin wallet for your further reference: bc1qvakwv74f7tqag7jk36nwf87k3s8v2ndvvu6wgr All you have is 48 hours and the countdown begins once this email is opened (in other words 2 days). The following list includes things you should remember and avoid doing: > There's no point to try replying my email (since this email and return address were created inside your inbox). > There's no point in calling police or any other types of security services either. Furthermore, don't you dare sharing this info with any of your friends. If I discover that (taking into consideration my skills, it will be really simple, because I control all your systems and continuously monitor them) - your nasty clip will be shared with public straight away. > There's no point in looking for me too - it won't result in any success. Transactions with cryptocurrency are completely anonymous and untraceable. > There's no point in reinstalling your OS on devices or trying to throw them away. That won't solve the issue, since all clips with you as main character are already uploaded on remote servers. Things that may be concerning you: > That funds transfer won't be delivered to me. Breathe out, I can track down everything right away, so once funds transfer is finished, I will know for sure, since I interminably track down all activities done by you (my Trojan virus controls all processes remotely, just as TeamViewer). > That your videos will be distributed, even though you have completed money transfer to my wallet. Trust me, it is worthless for me to still bother you after money transfer is successful. Moreover, if that was ever part of my plan, I would do make it happen way earlier! We are going to approach and deal with it in a clear manner! In conclusion, I'd like to recommend one more thing... after this you need to make certain you don't get involved in similar kind of unpleasant events anymore! My recommendation - ensure all your passwords are replaced with new ones on a regular basis.

Greetings I have to share bad news with you. Approximately few months ago I have gained access to your devices, which you use for internet browsing. After that, I have started tracking your internet activities. Here is the sequence of events: Some time ago I have purchased access to email accounts from hackers (nowadays, it is quite simple to purchase such thing online). Obviously, I have easily managed to log in to your email account (redazakyy.banks2023@blogger.com). One week later, I have already installed Trojan virus to Operating Systems of all the devices that you use to access your email. In fact, it was not really hard at all (since you were following the links from your inbox emails). All ingenious is simple. =) This software provides me with access to all the controllers of your devices (e.g., your microphone, video camera and keyboard). I have downloaded all your information, data, photos, web browsing history to my servers. I have access to all your messengers, social networks, emails, chat history and contacts list. My virus continuously refreshes the signatures (it is driver-based), and hence remains invisible for antivirus software. Likewise, I guess by now you understand why I have stayed undetected until this letter... While gathering information about you, I have discovered that you are a big fan of adult websites. You really love visiting porn websites and watching exciting videos, while enduring an enormous amount of pleasure. Well, I have managed to record a number of your dirty scenes and montaged a few videos, which show the way you masturbate and reach orgasms. If you have doubts, I can make a few clicks of my mouse and all your videos will be shared to your friends, colleagues and relatives. I have also no issue at all to make them available for public access. I guess, you really don't want that to happen, considering the specificity of the videos you like to watch, (you perfectly know what I mean) it will cause a true catastrophe for you. Let's settle it this way: You transfer $950 USD to me (in bitcoin equivalent according to the exchange rate at the moment of funds transfer), and once the transfer is received, I will delete all this dirty stuff right away. After that we will forget about each other. I also promise to deactivate and delete all the harmful software from your devices. Trust me, I keep my word. This is a fair deal and the price is quite low, considering that I have been checking out your profile and traffic for some time by now. In case, if you don't know how to purchase and transfer the bitcoins - you can use any modern search engine. Here is my bitcoin wallet: bc1qvakwv74f7tqag7jk36nwf87k3s8v2ndvvu6wgr You have less than 48 hours from the moment you opened this email (precisely 2 days). Things you need to avoid from doing: **Do not reply me (I have created this email inside your inbox and generated the return address). **Do not try to contact police and other security services. In addition, forget about telling this to you friends. If I discover that (as you can see, it is really not so hard, considering that I control all your systems) - your video will be shared to public right away. **Don't try to find me - it is absolutely pointless. All the cryptocurrency transactions are anonymous. **Don't try to reinstall the OS on your devices or throw them away. It is pointless as well, since all the videos have already been saved at remote servers. Things you don't need to worry about: **That I won't be able to receive your funds transfer. - Don't worry, I will see it right away, once you complete the transfer, since I continuously track all your activities (my trojan virus has got a remote-control feature, something like TeamViewer). **That I will share your videos anyway after you complete the funds transfer. - Trust me, I have no point to continue creating troubles in your life. If I really wanted that, I would do it long time ago! Everything will be done in a fair manner! One more thing... Don't get caught in similar kind of situations anymore in future! My advice - keep changing all your passwords on a frequent basis

Hello! Unfortunately, there is some bad news for you. Some time ago, your device was infected with my private Trojan, R.A.T. (Remote Administration Tool). If you want to find out more about it, simply use Google. My Trojan allowed me to access your files, accounts, and your camera. Check the sender of this email; I have sent it from your email account. I RECORDED YOU MASTURBATING THROUGH YOUR CAMERA! If you still doubt my serious intentions, it only takes a couple of mouse clicks to share the video of you masturbating with your family, friends, relatives, all email contacts, on social networks, and the darknet. After that, I removed my malware to leave no traces. To ensure you read this email, you will receive it multiple times. All you need is $800 USD in Bitcoin (BTC), transferred to my wallet address. After the transaction is successful, I will proceed to delete everything. You can purchase Bitcoin (BTC) from reputable exchanges here: http://www.coinbase.com - Payment options: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers, PayPal (in some regions). http://www.binance.com - Payment options: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers, P2P trading, third-party payment providers, and gift cards. http://www.bitrefill.com - Payment options: Paysafecard, credit/debit cards, crypto, bank transfer, and other gift cards. http://www.crypto.com - Payment options: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more. http://www.etoro.com - Payment options: Credit/Debit Cards, Bank Transfers, PayPal. Alternatively, simply Google for other exchanges. Once purchased, you can send the Bitcoin (BTC) directly to my wallet address or use a wallet application such as Atomic Wallet or Exodus Wallet to manage your transactions. My Bitcoin (BTC) wallet address is: 15QWF2UvF3Cj61AzPJrhaC8aCsB7LbsRYe Yes, that's how the wallet address looks. Copy and paste my wallet address; it's case-sensitive. A piece of advice from me: regularly change all your passwords and update your device with the latest security patches.
