Dr. Adger conducts research, teaches and supervises graduate students on issues such as: social vulnerability, resilience and adaptation to environmental change; on justice and equity in decision-making; and the application of economics to global environmental change. He is a member of the Resilience Alliance. He leads the research programme on adaptation in the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. He has participated in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in its assessment of adaptation to climate change. He edits the journal Global Environmental Change with Katrina Brown and Mike Hulme. Finally Dr Adger was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize from the Leverhulme Trust in 2001 for his research achievements.<br />

        <![CDATA[<p>The Colorado State Forest Service just released the 2010 Report on the Health of Colorado's Forests. According to the press release information, " The 10th annual CSFS report highlights forest health concerns and documents the status of established forest pests, such as spruce beetle, as well as emerging threats, such as thousand cankers disease in black walnut. Thousand cankers disease was the primary concern in Colorado’s urban forests in 2010, killing walnut trees in 16 counties, mostly along the Front Range and in eastern Colorado."<br />
