Beautiful Wedding Cakes from Bar Harbor Maine

I found myself wanting to order a wedding cake the other day just because it was so beautiful - I don't know if I could have eaten it or just looked at it! Curious?, click on the link and check out the oval shell wedding cake (decorated with shells, coral, etc.)! You will understand what I am saying!

When I was younger, I always wanted to have my wedding ceremony on the beach (yes in the sand), back then everyone said "no way", that's not a good thing. Today, it happens and it is a beautiful thing! Even to have the ceremony on an area such as the Bar Harbor Inn lawns with Frenchmen Bay in the background - it's actually breathtaking!

I even thought at one time how nice it would be to go out on a boat (like the Margaret Todd, on the Bar Harbor Inn pier), have the ceremony out in the water and come back for a reception in the Porcupine Room at the Inn at sunset. How beautiful...

I couldn't resist. I was walking out of my office to go to the Reservations office when I noticed that the Porcupine Room was decorated for a wedding. I had to check it out, wow, it of course is prettier in person, but I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pictures to share with you.

The bride chose to have the ceremony out on the balcony and the reception in the room.

The Porcupine room was set beautifully, a little something to start off with and then followed by a delicious dinner.

The cake made locally looked so good I wanted to stick my finger in the frosting and check it out! But... I had to remember I was working and didn't think the bride would appreciate it!

Begin your experience Friday evening at House Wine with a wine tasting accompanied by Fiore's olive oil tasting.

The Bar Harbor Merchant Association and Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce invite you to stroll along the downtown on Saturday, May 21st to experience what makes us special. Merchants, restaurants, cafes and crafters will line the sidewalks and highlight their taste of Bar Harbor beginning at 9am. Food establishments will begin offering free samples of food at 11am. Enjoy a sample from your favorite restaurant and ones you have not tried before. Who knows, maybe you will find a new favorite!

The craft fair will be held in the parking lot adjacent to The First.

Do you like chowder? Food lovers will have the opportunity to sample local seafood chowders and vote for their favorite. Winers will be selected in the following categories:

Best Chowder - Crowd Favorite

Best Chowder - Judge Favorite

Top off the weekend with a relaxing Jazz Brunch at Rupununi.
