Why a Lifelong Democrat Will NEVER Vote for Clinton

When this election began, I thought to myself, "no matter how much I like Obama, if Hillary wins, I would vote for her in a general election since I am so opposed to the last 7 years of Bush."

Well, not anymore.

The collective activities of the Clintons over the last few weeks have so disgusted me, that I believe it would be morally and ethically reprehensible to cast a vote for them, and thereby suggest that I approve of their actions.

The Clintons continue, on an ongoing basis, to treat the American public as if we have an IQ of 10. This began many years ago, when Bill Clinton, on a national stage, used wordplay to get out of an impeachment. It has continued today, where lie after lie is told -- all in an egregious display of hunger for power. This has been catalogued before, but here is a short list as I see it:

1. Bob Johnson vaguely (but obviously) refers to Obama's past drug use and then denies it: Hillary initially says "I am willing to take Bob at his word." It was obvious to everyone what Bob meant, EXCEPT for Hillary. She was in denial, and in the process, demonstrated that she did not care what public perception was.

2. Clinton says Obama like Reagan's ideas -- Obama, as has been well documented, NEVER stated this. He merely said he thought Reagan supported the kind of transformative politics that he thought Democrats should employ as well. He followed that by saying he DIDN'T approve of Reagan's ideas. The irony of all this is that Hillary and Bill have been much more complimentary of Reagan in the past than Obama.

3. Clinton says Obama said that the Republican party had the only good ideas in the last 15 years -- Again, a direct lie by Clinton. Obama clearly says that the Republican party was the only one with "ideas" (not necessarily good ones) while the Democratic party has been primarily directionless. Not many people who have followed the political landscape over the last few years can dispute this.

4. Clinton says Obama was inconsistent in being against the war -- An unbelievable fib. Obama's primary positioning since Day 1 is that he has been against the war. Clinton attempts to disprove this by saying Obama voted for funding the war. As Obama states, once the war started, Obama had an obligation to vote for the funding or put thousands of military lives in danger.

5. Clinton says Obama represented Rezko while a lawyer -- By all major media accounts, Obama was a low-level associate during the time Clinton cites and had almost nothing to do with Rezko. Clinton attempts to create a false association between Obama's work with the firm and Rezko.

I could go on and on. The point here is that I am fed up with it, and so should you. We should expect more as Democrats and Americans. The Clintons' attempt to have America aspire to mediocrity -- we are capable of much more.

Don't Fear Change

We are 4 days away from one of the most critical elections in this country's recent history. As I write this blog post, I am not sure that America as a whole gets the true significance of these next few days. It is truly history making - one way or another.

My only hope is that people realize that there really is no other right choice except Barack Obama. My theory on both the Clintons and the Bushes, is that many Americans would accept mediocrity rather than the fear of change? Here are my questions to you on that:

* Why should we accept couple who's history has included adultery and lying in a court of law. Out of 300M Americans, is that really the best we can do?
* Why should we accept someone who so clearly politicizes issues and is not straightforward with the American public?
* Why should be accept someone who refuses to open up her records while First Lady (which she repeatedly uses as her source of experience) to the public?
* Why should we accept someone who has slandered their opponent using drug use, race, and even kindergarten aspirations?

This list, as you can tell, can go out for a quite a while. On the other hand, in the case for Obama, I ask these questions:

* Why are we afraid of someone who is fresh, new, engaging, honest, and intelligent?
* Why are we afraid of someone who has more personal and newspaper endorsements than any other candidate?
* Why are we afraid of someone has had the most donations and built up the largest grassroots organization in U.S. History? Can so many people be wrong?
* Why are we afraid of someone who vote with conviction and correctly on the Iraq War when everyone around him submitted themselves to Bush's mislead strategy?
* Why are we afraid of someone who is the greatest uniter of our political system since JFK?
* Why are we afraid of someone who has inspired thousands of previously disengaged individuals to rejoin the political process?
* Why are we afraid of someone who has the potential to be one of the great leaders this country has ever known?

America, as Obama would say, the time is NOW. Do not be afraid of change. Do not accept mediocrity. In this critical time in our history, vote for someone who will be truly historical.

Obama's Disappointed with Hillary's Negative Campaign

Barack Obama finally came out today and said what we have all been thinking - how unnecessary all the negativity and mudslinging out of the Clinton campaign has been. Obama is especially concerned with the impact this will have on his children, mainly false rumors spread by the Clinton camp regarding Obama's drug use and ethnic background. For Obama, he remains a class act. One thing matters to him - how the candidates differ on policy and how they are focused on bringing the American public a change in how politics as usual is conducted.

Attack your opponents in any sneaky way possible. The latest attack from Hillary comes via direct mail in Iowa. The piece slams Obama's healthcare plan implying it is from Edwards. Closer analysis reveals that the group behind the attack is affiliated with the Clinton campaign. Completely distasteful.

Over the past few weeks, as Hillary Clinton has seen here campaign slip away in the polls of all of the early voting states, her degree of animosity and attacking style has gone up dramatically. As an American voter, this should make you very angry. The one thing that Obama always preaches is change from politics as USUAL.

So the first question many people ask (like me)... "I love Barack, don't like coldcalling people, but REALLY want to help, what can I do?" I was exactly like this, and that's why I chose to make my impact online.

The next question people ask is "What can I do online to help Barack? This is where I here to help. Below is a checklist of all the things you can do to help. Read this list, then go out there and make sure to do each thing below:

10. Add Barack on Facebook.

Sign up and login to http://facebook.com, go to http://www.facebook.com/person.php?id=2355496748 and click on "Support this politican" below his picture. Then send a message to all of your friends on Facebook to support Barack as well.

Add the "One Million Strong for Barack" group to your profile. To do this, visit http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2231653698 and below the picture on the right side, click on "Add Group"

9. Add Barack on MySpace.

Sign up and login at http://myspace.com and add Barack to your profile by visiting http://www.myspace.com/barackobama and clicking on "Add to Friends" just below his profile picture. Make sure to leave a comment before you go!

8. Digg Positive Barack Obama Articles Daily. Submit new articles to Digg.

Digg is an online bookmarking news service that thousands of people read. By "digging" articles, you raise their popularity (and consequently, viewership). To promote Obama on Digg, do the following: Sign up and login at http://www.digg.com. Search for "obama". On the search results page, order the results by "Sort Newest First" and hit Search again. Now go through the list of articles and digg all articles that talk positively about Barack!

Lastly, when you see an article you like on Obama, make sure to copy the URL, go to Digg, and submit it.

7. Bookmark all Positive Barack Obama Articles Daily using Delicious.

Delicious is the other very popular bookmarking service online. To use it, go to http://del.icio.us/. Sign up, you will be asked to install the Delicious buttons on your toolbar. This is very quick and requires almost no computer memory. Once installed, the buttons will appear on your toolbar. Now, anytime you read a positive Obama article, make sure to use the Delicious button on your toolbar to bookmark!

6. Use StumbleUpon to "stumble" positive Barack articles.

Stumbleupon is yet another bookmarking service (still very popular) that allow users to mark the sites they like online. Sign up and login at http://www.stumbleupon.com, get the plug in, and then whenever you see a Barack Obama article you like, "stumble" it by clicking on the StumbleUpon thumbs up on your toolbar.

5. Start Your Own Pro-Obama Blog.

Do you like to write and want to express yourself. Go to http://www.blogger.com and start your own blog in minutes. Your blog will be indexed by search engines, and other Obama supporters will be able to read it!

4. Comment on all Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton articles you can find daily.

Let's face it - our biggest competition in this race, however disagreeable some may find her, is Hillary Clinton. One of the things we can do is spread the pro-Obama message by commenting on political articles and blogs all around the web. You can do this by: search through all Obama and Hillary articles on Digg, click on the ones that look like they may be viewed by many people, and leave a pro-Obama comment. Not just "Go Obama", but something that really reflects how you feel. This will be much more effective.

Additionally, you can go to http://news.google.com, do a search for "obama", sort by date (most recent), and find articles this way as well. Good places to comment include political blog The Huffinton Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com), Daily Kos (http://www.dailykos.com), Crooks and Liars (http://www.crooksandliar.com), and all major news publicatios and magazines.

3. Email or IM all of your friends this post and ask them to support Barack - NOW.

Studies show that people are most influenced by their friend's thoughts. You believe in your Barack, and chances are your friends will too. As Obama would say, if you stand up for someone, others will stand up for you.

2. Join Barack Obama's Official Website and Donate.

Be active on Barack Obama's official website, http://my.barackobama.com.

Donate, start groups, make friends. . ORGANIZE.

1. Register to vote online.

This is one of the most simple things - but many people, including myself in the past, show support but then don't vote. This is, at the end of the day, the single BIGGEST thing you can do to help Barack. There are many sites, including http://www.rockthevote.com and http://declareyourself.com where you can do this quickly. The fun begins January 3rd!

Of course, there is MUCH more you can do online, these are just some of the activities that will give you the most bang for your buck. If you have other good strategies for spreading the Obama word I may have missed, let me know and perhaps I will write a post about it!

Welcome to my blog! I am a 29 year old male who has NEVER voted before in my life. When I first heard about Obama I was intrigued. As I began to learn more about him, there was no doubt in my mind that he was a once-in-a-generation leader. This inspired me to get involved in the political process. As I began to get involved, I realized that making phone calls and going door-to-door was interesting, but I couldn't reach nearly as many as I wanted to by typically recruiting measures.

Then I thought to myself - there IS one skill I have that might be useful. I know a LOT about social media. What if I created a blog that was all about using social media to spread the word about Barack? I mean leveraging social networking, bookmarking, SEO, commenting, etc., etc. to reach THOUSANDS of people - many more people that I could reach by simply phone calling on a random Tuesday evening.

So that's what this blog is. A place where I will be putting (hopefully daily) tasks on how Obama supporters can spread the word through social media. Please check back regularly as my #1 goal is to show you how YOU can spread the word about the truly GREAT leader online. Enjoy!
